No fastboot mode available - Huawei Mediapad X2 - Huawei MediaPad X2

Hi there,
i do not want to be annoying, but still need Your help, because I do not have any further idea, what I can do to enter the fastboot mode on my Mediapad X2.
I have a Mediapad X2 GEM701L and flashed with the "dload-method" the B205 Android 6 Firmware of the Mediapad GEM702L (see here).
It works fine. (only the known issues like DT2W is enalble, but does not work).
I flashed that rom, because, I hoped, that the fastbootmode and the recovery mode will be usable after that.
Before flashing, (and still right now) , it was impossible to enter the fastbootmode by pressing Power on and Vol down.(USB cable is connected to the PC). Entering the fastboot mode by power off the Mediapad, and connecting USB Cable to the PC while pressing Vol down, was impossible, too. The tablet is always booting into the system. (normal boot).
Pressing all three buttons (Power , Vol up and Vol down) will enter the Huawei install screen. This works fine and any (correct) update.APP in a dload folder on a inserted SD card will be installed.
I also can reach the Huawei recovery screen to reset to factory defaults or wipe the cache and dalvic partition.
I tested several ways: USB debugging = on / USB debugging = off, Hisuite-Mode =enabled / disabled, USB mode= Hisuite, Google oder Manufacturer mode...
no way was successfull.
It is always the same result: The Mediapad's screen stays black, because the white fastboot screen does not appear. In Windows (10) I get a device connected, but not a specifc device, there are only three points. When started the Mediapad normal (in system), the device is recognized correct.
Please, can anyone help me ?
Thanks a lot and excuse my bad English, I am from Germany....
regards, MalcomX
EDIT: found some spelling mistakes

You have to use a usb cable connecting your phone and PC first. This is required.
Then press power+ volume down to boot up. It goes in to fastboot mode.

Hi iamhcg,
thank you for your reply.
As I wrote above: connecting the Mediapad (powered off) with USB cable to the PC and then pressing power and simoutaneous Vol down, does not work. The Mediapad only is booting to system (EMUI)... not into fastboot/flash mode....
That is the reason, why I am calling for help here....

SOLVED !!!

OMG ! the trick is the sequence, to press the buttons:
Only when I am pressing the VOL down first and then the power-button, the fastboot-mode will appear....
Thany you for your patience.

Wow, so glad you figure that out. When you said you fastboot-flashed other rom before, I knew fastboot mode got to be there. It's most likely some detail procedure that's got overlooked.
For me, I normally connect my phone to PC, and press reboot while my phone was still on. All I need to do is press volum down button. I don't even need to worry about the power button. It is interesting to know the specific sequence actually affects the outcome.

[Q] TF300T Am I bricked?

I tried to root my device. I downloaded the unlocker APK, CWRecovery, adb, fastboot and everything seemed to be going fine. I ran afoul somewhere in the middle of the process and I tried to do a factory reset. And this is where things went really badly. What's happening now is that I'm stuck on the first boot screen. The only thing that is displayed in the "The Device is UnLocked" message in the top left, the ASUS logo in the middle and the NVidia Tegra log at the bottom right. No spinny and definitely not booting.
Before, when I held down the power button and the volume down button, I would get dumped in to a menu where I could select between RCK, Android and Wipe. However, now that isn't working. If I just keep holding down both buttons, the device reboots and I get the same screen. The recovery mode never seems to come up. When I try to use adb or fastboot to see the tablet, this is pretty much what comes up:
jcboget$ ./fastboot devices
jcboget$ ./adb devices
List of devices attached
So my question is this : am I bricked? If yes, my follow up question is this : can I fix this? Or am I pretty much effed?
thnx,
Christoph
Ok, so I finally got my hands on a pin to press the hard reset button and that didn't seem to have any kind of effect. All it did was cause the device to reboot and it again got stuck on the logo screen. My hopes are falling real fast.
thnx,
Christoph
Another thing, I can't even seem to power the tablet down. Pressing the power button does nothing. Holding it down for a while just causes the tablet to reboot (again, only to the ASUS logo). The only way I I'm able to get it powered down (at least, I *think* it's powered down) is by pressing the volume-up button while I press the factory reset button with a pin. Pressing the power button while holding the volume-up caused it just to reboot as it did with holding power and volume-down. Interestingly, holding volume-down and pressing the factory reset button with a pin just caused it to reboot again.
I was thinking (praying, really) that this was causing the tablet to go in to APX mode (as discussed here -- item 4 : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2034866) but holding the volume-up while plugging the usb didn't do anything so I'm not sure that's possible.
I'm hoping and praying that I'm not totally effed and I'm hoping someone can offer some input.
thnx,
Christoph

I've seen that post and I tried to do exactly that. My problem is that power+volume-down just reboots the device and power+volume-up doesn't seem to do anything. In fact, it seems like power+volume-up is the only way I can actually power down the device. How can I enter fastboot with the tablet in such a state? How can I get in to APX mode?
thnx,
Christoph

Thanks again for your reply!
Yes, I tried the reset button however it behaves just the same as pressing the power button. It just seems to restart the device. I've tried holding the volume toggle in both the up and down position (at separate times) while pressing the reset button and the behavior is the same as when pressing/holding the power button.
When I have the device hooked up to my laptop (macbook pro), neither `adb devices` nor `fastboot devices` list anything. Before my major screw up, both were able to list it.
thnx,
Christoph
After a lot of tries i got it working

Can't enter download mode S10e please help

I have searched and looked for alternatives on how to maybe enter download mode but have not found any solution. I have tried phone off then vol. down + bixby then plug in usb, also pow button + bixby + vol. down then plug usb but every time I do this all I get is a circle with a lightning logo with battery percentage. I also went into recovery mode and tried rebooting into bootloader however that just ends up rebooting back to the recovery menu. Please help. Thank you.
anyone with any tip on what might help or be the issue? I have an exynos version.

Hi, try to reboot into bootloader using ADB.
First off thank you for the response.
I tried that as well however maybe I did it wrong. Is it? adb reboot bootloader or adb reboot download
It's so strange you know cause I've tried so many different ways and I thought that rebooting to bootloader from recovery menu would definitely work however all it does is reboot back to my home screen.
Power off phone and just hold down pwr+vol up+ Bigsby for like 8ish seconds and it should boot to download.
Also adb/fastboot is a second route, read through this the below link. Make sure you have the Samsung drivers installed and adb/fastboot properly installed and prerequisites. https://www.theandroidsoul.com/unlock-bootloader-via-fastboot-android/
Or try to boot in safe mode
Hold power button when phone is on, then long press power off, and then select safe mode. https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/knowledge-base-223011/

Stuck at entering fastboot mode

How can I get my Galaxy Note 20 Ultra out of stuck at 'entering fastboot mode'?
Hold down power and volume down until it reboots back to recovery. I got stuck there last week and that's what worked for me.

Switch off the device. Then hold volume up and down buttons and insert the USB cable plugged to PC. You will get to download/odin mode

Download mode is different from fatboot mode, I can enter, and works ok download mode. However, fastboot does not, it gets stuck in entering fastboot mode and no fastboot command works
I got same issue here, I've tried rooting via TWRP and after data wipe and "reboot to recovery" it got stuck in same thing and doesn't move at all, if I hold power and vol down it just boots the device which i dont want since i need to flash magisk as a last step. if anyone encountered this or knows how to fix it i'd be helpful
I'm not rooted but I've had past Samsung devices that I was able to root and if I'm not mistaken Samsung phones aren't able to boot into fastboot mode because Samsung removed the ability to. You can run commands via ADB mode but I think that's about it

Since we can"t enter into fastboot mode is it possible to flash boot.img with adb commands?
I m having the same problem with a21s(a217f). I can t enter download mode using key combinations and the other way launching it from recovery doesn t work, it stays stuck at,, entering fastboot mode,,
The ROM is already bricked, it says in recovery when i try to factory reset the following error:,, can t mount. /system (structure needs cleaning)
Even with,, apply up. with adb,, doesn t work, it just doesn t get detected on my computer when i checked with adb tools.
! The only thing that works is that I can access my sd card and apply a update from sd card but I don t know where to get the update file. (I ll edit if it works to flash stock rom from,, apply update from sd card,, )
Anybody got some ideas or should i burn my motherboard and replace it?
sorry for bad english
Honestly plug device into PC.
Power off device
hold all 3 side buttons. Volume up and down and power/bixby.
Should usually work.
After in fast boot you must press a button Volume button to find via odin.

I already did that, unplugged the battery, reconnected it after 1min, connected my phone to the computer and pressed all 3 side buttons, still doesn t work. I guess the download mode is deleted or something..

It wouldn't be deleted as it's a safety protocol if the device has a bad update and freaks out.
Maybe try to person above method.
Normally I can enter download mode with any of these methods if you cannot I'd suggest trying to get the device replaced due to software malfunction

Samsung phones use a tool called Odin to flash firmware. If you're flashing custom firmware firmware you'll need to have your bootloader unlocked.
I got mine into download mode just now. It's a Galaxy A13 .. Like stated above, try to hold all three buttons down and connect to USB. I had to let go before it showed the battery charge icon. From off. If not from off try from charging. I think that's what I did just now. Plug the usb -> let it show the charging icon (from powered off!) -> hold all three buttons, let it power on, let go. DONE.
just follow this video it helped me a lot to unlock my boot loader

Question my Galaxy A12 won't boot to android or download mode help me pls

so I just tried to install unofficial TWRP 3.5.0 on my Samsung galaxy a125m and everything went fine, Odin said done. Then I just tried to start TWRP by pressing power and vol up and it didn't start, so I thought I might have done something wrong and rebooted to download mode and flashed it again, Odin said done, then I unplugged the USB cable and now it won't boot, neither to the system or recovery, even to download mode, it did enter download mode a few times before but I pressed the wrong button and had to cancel and enter again, now it won't even enter download mode so I can't flash stock rom to fix bootloop... pls how can I solve this I'm desperate
when I try to enter download mode by pressing volume up + volume down it just shows up charging mode without any numbers, then it turn on and shows Samsung logo, unlocked bootloader warning screen, and the Samsung logo again, but then just restarts and repeats all again...
when I try to press volume up + volume down + power, nothing really happens...
someone help me please
You need to keep both volume up and down pressed, then plug in the charging cable. It should enter download mode, no need to press the power button like in older samsungs.

Have you considered that your volume buttons may not be working?

Hello, unfortunately in these cases the only solution is to enter download mode, check if any button is damaged or if the cable works and if it is well connected, press the buttons harder, hold down the volume up and volume down buttons at the same time , by pressing the strong buttons, for about 6 seconds and then connect the cable. If you don't try another cable to see if that's the problem there is no other solution as the phone is not recognized by an app that can put it into download mode when turned off the solution is the one I already told you about. I hope you have fixed that problem. Sorry for my bad English.

@physwizz
I am having a similar problem with the Samsung A12 SM-a125u
I never could enter into this "Downloading mode".
I tried flashing the stock ROM through ADB with fastboot, and I have another problem that I've never seen before: ADB can see the device while in recovery mode, but fastboot can't. And so it won't allow me to flash the ROM and I don't even know how Odin is supposed to help yet; I think I needed to enter Downloading mode for that, but I can't get into it.
I'm working on this phone for a friend who was given it because his friend's mom doesn't remember the password to it. Does that matter? It's worth noting that because of that I cannot get in to turn on OEM unlocking or dev mode, but idk why that would come into play in recovery mode. Also, the model indicates this is an AT&T phone, and tutorials online have acknowledged this model in their "applicable models" list at the beginning of their tutorials, but I know that carrier phones can cause problems all over the place (stop buying carrier locked phones people!); is this a problem?
How the heck do I flash the stock ROM to this this?

Recovery - broken screen.

I recently dropped my phone in water. The screen is now black (internally, the screen connector is cooked).
Good news :
The phone boot
The phone connect to my wireless network
The usb port is working (vibrator too, ... speaker not).
Bad news :
The display is broken
Digitizer is not working
USB debugging is not enabled
I only have a partial backup (pictures).
I'm running Android 11, stock (not rooted) and OTG is not enabled by default.
I have to recover some files (by example , my signal backup file).
Ways to recover
Recovery trough android is not possible since OTG is not enabled.
Recovery trough application is not possible (need to install/configure an application)
Maybe I could enter (blindly) the boot recovery mode, enable USB debug & disable screen lock trough ADB ???
--> Is it possible ?
--> Can anybody post the exact key combination to enter the recovery mode ?
--> Can you confirm that I can enable usb debug trough the recovery mode ?
Thanks !!!
With phone off hold vol down + power, after vibration keep holding vol down for 20 sec.
With phone plugged in:
adb shell svc usb setFunctions mtp
Not sure if it'll work with stock recovery.
Thanks for your answer. But as far I know, once button down + power is pressed (20s) , ... the phone enter a "menu", ... in this menu, there is a combination to reset the phone OR enter recovery OR enter fasboot ? (right ?)
Thanks.
