Honor 6x Bricked Question - Help would be appreciated! - Honor 6X Questions & Answers

I unlocked my phone which was on emui 4.1 BLN24 then flashed twrp which always kept getting going back to the stock recovery.
I tried updating the phone to emui 5 but it would not install with the unlocked boot loader. So i relocked it. Now the phone is stuck at "Your device is booting now... and it wont boot into recovery, fastboot mode or respond to the vol+ vol- pwr key combo to reflash the stock firmware. Also the phone wont power off it just reboots to the device booting screen each time i try to power off.
Has anyone on here experienced this situation, do you know if there is any fix for this, or someone who does hardware reflashing?
Any help would be appreciated

How can you re-unlocked bootloader?

For fast boot if phone loop to power on:
Press and hold Power button, when the screen power off quickly press Vol.- and connect USB port (cable must be connected to pc...). Phone boot in fastboot mode!!!
Now unlock bootloader with code and restore phone!!!
To install update bootloader can remain unlocked...

When you unlock/relock the bootloader, the phone will always try to format /data partition. It is a security policy on most android devices (I think all actual devices lol). Since your device has TWRP (as you said), formatting will always fail.
Try booting into recovery with the right key combination, then format /data.
If that doesn't work, you should flash the FULL firmware through eRecovery. Is quite easy, and there are a lot of tutorials on how to do the trick.
When using eRecovery, I suggest you to flash the FULL package for EMUI 5, because if you flash a lower version you may corrupt the bootloader (and nobody wants that; it happened to me when downgraded my Moto G few years ago).
Cheers, and good luck
OFFTOPIC NOTE: as someone said before, you don't need to unlock your bootloader for updating the phone. Firmware Finder app is really helpful if you want to get an update that is not officially published by Huawei.

Thanks for your reply,
However i must note that: neither recovery or the fastboot menu boots, ive tried all the key combinations! The phone normally stays at the boot screen and only responds to holding the power button down, which makes it reboot only. (wont power off) it stays on till battery is out. After recharging im able to get to the "enter password to decrypt screen" but after one reboot it continues in the same cycle as mentioned previously.
I think this may be related to a corrupted bootloader like you mentioned. Did you have a similar experiences and what was done to overcome it?
Thanks for your help

Well, if the bootloader is corrupted, that screen wouldn't power on at all (I guess, never saw a device showing the boot screen while hard broken).

Have you tried booting the device while connected to a computer through MicroUSB cable? There are several combinations with the cable too (HERE are few combinations; focus on fastboot/eRecovery ones)

That's nice. I think you only need to reflash the full firmware. Try booting eRecovery. Hold vol+ key and connect the USB cable, keep holding the button the whole time until it boots to eRecovery.
Yay, I've already said that before. I think your device will be fine. "Your device is booting now..." message tells me that bootloader is fine, but there is something wrong with the other partitions, and it can be fixed with eRecovery.

Fixed
Panchoso,
Thanks for your help; So i discharged the phone completely and(patiently) waited for it to boot, when it booted again i was able to quickly get it into fastboot mode by using the VOL- + PWR keys and was able to reflash it completely . Thank you again, help very much appreciate!!!. Phone is now back alive and looking for the best rom to flash it with, any suggestions?

Very hard brick

Hi!
Okay, this case is really weird and of course is thanks to my negligence. I'm gonna post it hoping someone can help me, or at least keep other people aware about trying stupid things lol
I tried to update to Nougat with an unofficial method (I don't consider necessary to tell what method...) and I just messed it up, badly. I'll try to give a detailed explanation:
The phone has the bootloader unlocked. After trying to update to Nougat, it got stuck when rebooting. After the unlocked bootloader warning message, the phone won't go further than that, it just stays there. If I hold and press the power button for more than 10 seconds the phone won't shut down, it will restart to get stuck again after the unlocked BL warning, making impossible to turn it off completely.
I try to enter to stock recovery by pressing vol + and power button at the same time (tried other combinations, vol - and power button & vol -, vol + and power button) but I have no luck, it just gets stuck at the same point.
I already tried extracting BOOT.img, RECOVERY.img, CUST.img and SYSTEM.img from an official update.app and flash them in that order via fastboot (yeah, I can enter to fastboot mode). The process is successful in terminal (I use Linux) but when I reboot the phone, it gets stuck again after the warning.
The only recovery that is actually working is TWRP, the one ported for the Honor 8 (flashed via fastboot), but it won't let me install any custom ROM, it just stays in "patching image unconditionally" forever, making me press and hold the power button but this won't shutdown the phone, it reboots, gets stuck and... so on *infinite loop*
Btw, when I wipe cache, dalvik and data in TWMP, the message "failed to mount /cust" with red letters appears, so it's probably a very corrupted system partition. also, It's impossible to repair the custom partition. This appears:
Repairing Custom using e2fdck...
/sbin/e2fsck -fp /devblock/mmcblk0p44 process ended with ERROR: 8
Unable to repair Custom.

Tried HiSuite from Huawei (in Windows) and it doesn't even recognize the phone.
Hope somebody could possibly give a solution, if there's any. If not, I'm afraid I have a beautiful paperweight now...
Oh yeah, one very important part: my Honor 8 is the US version (FRD-L04), and yes, I'm making sure I'm getting the current update.app for this model.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Hi There
you try this method.
Get a SD CARD
make a directory at the card root name dload
put your best update.app in the directory (the most older version the best)
insert into your phone 2nd sim slot
try everyway to make the 3 button combo.
hope this help
edit: you need stock recovery to do this

Yes, but since you r able to go into TWRP, can your use adb command like adb reboot bootloader than flash stock recovery image?
after that since it is keep rebooting, you can hold your volume up and down all the way to force update.
IDK if this work. but no harm to try it, since it is "very hard brick"
Edit: Fastboot erase {partition} before flash back the image maybe help

I assume you having the update.app from a L04 full firmware, not the OTA.
for the not able to repair partition like custom maybe you can erase it using fastboot erase command and fastboot flash it back
or you can fastboot erase all the known partition like system, cache, data, custom etc.... and fastboot flash back the image.
i assume your fastboot still able to access

I did it!!
I could bring it back following some of your methods. Here's how I achieved it:
-Formatted the Custom partition in fastboot.
-Flashed BOOT.img, RECOVERY.img, CUST.img and SYSTEM.img again.
-Forced the update by putting the entire firmware in the dload folder located in the sdcard, it failed at the end, but I rebooted by pressing and holding the power button.
-The phone passed beyond the point where it was getting stuck (finally!), but now it got stuck in the Honor 8 blue screen. Rebooted it again doing coldboot.
-Entered to stock recovery, wiped everything.
Then I just rebooted it and Voalá! It started all new!
Guess it was not that hard brick haha. I'll have to change the name of the topic.
A million thanks @chongns, you rock!

Boot into recovery from fastboot?

Hello, I have an Honor 6x, with unlocked bootloader, and wanted to install TWRP so I booted into bootloader
and flashed twrp.img via fastboot, but now everytime I want to boot TWRP it just shows the message:
Your device has been unlocked and
can't be trusted.

and then it is stuck in this state...
could I eventually boot into TWRP directly from bootloader via fastboot?
Please help guys, thanks in advance. :fingers-crossed:
What version of EMUI are you on? If you're on the 7.0 beta there isn't a working twrp for it.

Hello. Replying here as I don't need a new thread for a very similar issue.
Brand new 6x with EMUI 4. Unlocked bootloader successfully. Using adb/fastboot tool I boot into bootloader, then flash my twrp img. For some reason this goes fine with no errors but takes less than two seconds (cause for concern?).
Now from this point is where I am having trouble. Regardless of what I do, the phone only boots into the EMUI recovery screen. I am aware of holding the volume up key on the first boot after flashing twrp so that it won't be overwritten. I have rebooted the phone manually and also through fastboot while holding the volume up button.
In a new city and only internet I have is thru my phone so this process is really slow due to all the restarts etc. Thanks in advance for the help!

Same problem here. I have a Honor 6x (BLN-L21) with Nougat on it (Build BLN-L21C432B360), unlocked it with the unlock pwd and tried to flash the TWRP (twrp-3.1.0-2-berlin.img) with 'fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.1.0-2-berlin.img'. After that I get always the same message after reboot or if I try to enter the recovery mode.
Any suggestions?

Hi there,
I have found it. To get the TWRP Screen I had to press all 3 Buttons (Volume Up, Volume Down and Power) at startup.
Hope this helps.
Sadly this doesn't work here, on a BLN-L21C432B130 with EMUI 4.x and Android 6.x
3 Button start method brings up always the EMUI recovery screen.
Power Button + Volume up Button works fine here with all TWRP versions up to 3.1.0-0, but never on a newer one.
Additional hint: It works only if the USB cable isn't plug into the device and if the phone was powered down before. That must me the reason why I never get that up, if I'm rebootin using the command $ fastboot reboot cause for this the cable connection has to be used
@all who stuck in bootscreen...flash THIS TWRP...
[LG G4 H815] Just need to reboot into recovery directly...
I have kinda the same problem: I flashed TWRP and a friend of mine told me that I need to reboot into recovery directly after flashing TWRP because otherwise the system replaces TWRP again when I type "fastboot reboot". The problem is I cant shutdown the phone and also the key combination of the LG G4 is not rlly working, I tried it dozens of times on my other one... Is there ANY other way of booting to recovery from bootloader / fastboot? Thanks in advance!
P.S.: I read something about "boot twrp.img"... Is that an option or does it just also flash TWRP?

Does anyone have Full Stock Firmware for RNE-L22C636?

There's already an update with face-unlock feature for my phone but I can't update it maybe because of the twrp custom recovery(my phone is bootloader unlocked and rooted), so I tried to relock and unroot my phone using the method I found somewhere. But, I ended up bricking(I guess) my phone. I tried to access fastboot mode(Vol. Down + Power) or twrp custom recovery(Vol. Up + Power), but the screen only shows Huawei eRecovery. My only option is to force update(Vol. Up + Vol. Down + Power) it, but I can't find any full stock firmware.

No bootloader/fastboot

Hi,
I am trying to get Lineage installed on my Oppo R7 Plus although I've run in to a snag and have been googling and going round in circles all day trying to find a solution. All the guides state to go in to recovery mode or bootloader, however my device doesn't have this. I understand Oppo released an update which removed the bootloader thus making it impossible to flash with a different ROM. One work around I've read is to flash an older version of ColorOS, and I have downloaded this from a link in another thread. However this still poses the same problem, I cannot flash it, as you need fastboot to do so, which is the problem, as I cant do this.... catch 22 !
Does anyone have a solution for this or should I just give up and sell the unit on Ebay ?
Any help appreciated.

I've tried this and it doesnt work, it never boots in to recovery. Ive also used ADB using adb reboot bootloader and other commands with no joy. From what I ascertained from reading other threads and posts elsewhere this is due to OPPO updating the OS and removing the option to do this. If you have their latest OS, you're pretty stuck., which I am Just wondered if there was any way around this before I gave up.
Edit: Just tried this one final time and it worked !! All the guides say hold volume up and power, not volume DOWN. Thanks very much for the input
Once you have flashed the older firmware you can hold volume up and power to get into fastboot to flash twrp

Boot brick - Can't power off, can't get to erecovery or recovery after rollback

Hey guys, my Honor is in brick state. I pushed a rollback package while I was in marshmallow (but with wrong ROM, so I was trying to rollback again and retry the procedure) and the phone got stuck in Honor blue screen at loop.
It won't let me power off, it justs turns on again. All button combinations won't work apparently. I can't get to recovery or e-recovery.
I tried depleting the battery. But as soon as I connect to the charger, it powers on. If I try the button combination before putting charge, it also doesn't work.
After the first successful rollback to MM, I think the bootloader got locked.
adb and fastbook can't seem to list the device.
I can get to fastboot and rescue mode, but I don't know the procedure from there.
So, is this a unsolvable brick? Or is there anything else that can be done to save this phone?
Thanks a lot for your feedback.
use dc unlocker to flash unlock bootloader and after dc flasher

It's easy. I had a similar problem too. Just when your phone attempts to boot, hold the Volume Down button and immediately connect it to the PC (within 1-2 second). It should go into fastboot mode. Now, open Huawei Multi Tool and unlock your bootloader then use the tool to unbrick your phone, start with flashing stock recovery and then the correct firmware.

I flashed extracted and flashed images for B131 and B360, without luck. Stuck on the unlocked warning now: "Your device is booting now".
I can't seem to get to erecovery. Please let me know if you have any ideas.

If you're stuck on "Your device is booting now". This probably means your recovery is screwed. Don't worry, flash stock recovery and erecovery using Multi-Tool.
Then try the dload method. If the problem persists, then flash the correct TWRP then use HuRUpdater to flash the ROM you want. This will definitely fix the issue.

The recovery images from Multi-Tool servers seem to work! Thanks a lot. I was able to get to erecovery, now I'll proceed as decribed by you! :good::good::good:
Edit: dload failed at 99%, but I was able to factory reset and get to the system after all!
