Hi
I have a oneplus one and recently factory reset is but now the camera comes up with "unfortunately, the camera has stopped working". The phone is running android 6.0.1 and cyanogen 13.1.2—ZNH2KAS3P0-bacon. This was working fine until the reset. I have cleared the app data and cache, the gallery data and rebooted to safe mode at which point it still wasn't working. I'm not the most techie type so could anyone help please? I've checked other answers but I don't really understand quite what I have to do.
Thanks

Anyone help me please???
whenever i try to use my front cam (in stock/non-stock camera app or any app like skype etc.) I get a message displayed saying "Unfortunately, Gallery has stopped working". I got access to the camera app after clearing data and cache but if i try to use front cam again, it stops working.
Is this a hardware problem?
I have done all these:
-tried stock/non-stock camera apps...
-wiped all data, system, cache, factory reset...
-rooted my phone and flashed custom roms (CM11, AOSP 4.4.2, SlimKat 4.4.2)
Any suggestions would be a help.
Thanks!
Hello,
I don't know why but my Galaxy S6's back camera just keeps on force closing.
No matter what I try:
- Rebooting
- Flashing a new Rom through TWRP
- Odin to stock
- Wipe everything on recovery
- Clear camera cache, data and force stop it
-Booting into Safe Mode
I'm out of ideas, anyone know how this can be fixed?
I would also like to add that, about 2 months ago the same thing happened to my phone and after trying all of the above that time also, nothing was working. I took it to tmobile and a representetive asked me "have you tried rebooting?" And as he asked he was rebooting my phone in front of me. I said "Yes" and when the phone booted back up, he opened the Camera app and it was working -__-
I have been rebooting for the past 2 days hoping for that to happen again, to no avail.
Hello,
I am unable to use the camera. I have already tried:
wiping cache partition
booting in safe mode (same error)
factory reset
replace camera module with another one
This error happened without any special event (dropping the phone or installing other camera apps). I have a Nexus 5 with Android 6.0.1 on it.
Do you have any suggestions or any idea what is the problem?
If you know the replacement camera is functional, then I think it would be a problem with the motherboard. I assume you are running a stock 6.01 ROM.

Hey... Did you fix it? I'm trying too, but no solution so far
I have a sm-g930a s7 at&T. about 2 weeks ago my camera and flashlight quit working. I have tried the following:
disable smart stay
, reboot phone.
went to camera app, force stopped, cleared cache, cleared data, restarted phone
, restarted in safe mode, camera still not working in safe mode.
cleared system cache, wiped data, did factory setup. camera not working
Changed the software on phone using odin. flashed G930AUCUBCTB1. Odin worked, Camera not working still. I was considering trying a ball peen hammer, but not there quite yet.
My backup phone is a s7 edge with a beautiful pink line.
Any idea where to go from here?
I have the same problem, open camera and I get a black screen followed by a "camera failed" message. Tried different apps. Actually replaced the rear camera. Reset phone back to factory stock. Did all of the "other" stuff. Nothing works. The problem started shortly after the last (February) and final OTA update that ATT did. Anyone have anything I can flash to my phone with ODIN? It is a SM-G930A Baseband G930AUCUBCTB1.

Try installing a different camera app and see if that works. If it doesn't, it could very well be the camera itself.

I have tried 2 or 3 different camera apps. No help. I forgot to say that the camera will actually come on very very occasionally.
Hello there,
I have just noticed that there is a section for P30 and I would like to know if someone is able to give me some assistance in this subject.
I have a friend that lost his front camera (selfie camera) after an update from huawei.
Everytime he selects the front camera it freezes completely and just returns a black screen. Messenger does not work, whatsapp does not work, all video apps cant enable the front camera, I assume they broke the selfie camera from the main app.
I have seen some people complaining about this all over the internet and the assistance says to follow a few reset steps.
Last case return to assistance, what if the smartphone is out of warranty period?
I would like to know if someone had this issue and knows how to fix it.
Thank you!
Same problem here... First it was black screen and crashing of camera app, then after clearing android cache, camera app cache and gallery cache, back/main camera is working again but front/selfie camera is crashing when i try to change to it...
Which android cache are you cleaning?
when i said android cache i meant cache from that eRecovery menu (volume up + power button)
Meanwhile, I tried to revert to android 9, and the problem persisted, reset to factory defaults didnt help as well, then update to Androdi version10 didnt help... Have no idea what to do...
Sending it to service tomorrow...
