Friends
I just downloaded the Viper4ANDROID XHIFI Mod on my rooted Galaxy Nexus running Android 4.3 and also has BusyBox 1.21.1 installed
After installing V4A when I opened the app I was prompted with the driver I want to install; not knowing which is the right one for me I selected CortexAX with NEON (please advise me on the best to choose)
After that I repeatedly got the message "Driver install failed. Please confirm your phone has been rooted and busybox installed" - both of which has been done already. No matter which driver I select, I keep getting the same error.
I previously installed the V4A available on the Play Store but thought of getting the one straight from XDA
Please advise on how to get the driver installed and which is the right one for me
Many thanks!

There's a reply the official thread mentioning mounting with Terminal Emulator. I don't have enough post count to ask that member if there is anything necessary after installing drivers, like unmounting, or anything else.

Did you ever solve this issue? I'm seeing the same problem.
Hello
Viper4Android XHIFI project has been stopped now by the developer .First try different drivers during installation .If it doesn't work try reinstalling busybox , it happened to me sometime back . Before that try V4A FX app also if it works then XHIFI may be incompatible . Last chance is to get the desired V4A driver (libv4a_xx_xx.so kernel file) from extracting apk and to place it in /system/lib/audio/ folder manually and reboot .
Hope it works

Thanks. V4A FX app appeared to install the driver fine, and I guess I don't need XHiFi if I have that. However, even though it is installed, it doesn't sound as if it is having any effect. I'll try uninstalling and re-installing it again.

Cheers ! Did you reboot after installing V4A FX driver ? If not do it and by itself V4A will be disabled and you should enable it in the master power controls in different sections (phone-speaker,headset,bluetooth,usb) of V4A app . Then you can modify each settings for your needs in realtime while hearing music . You can also check if driver is working or not in options/Driver Status . If any of these doesn't work use FX compatible mode in options .
Hit Thanks if it works !!

Things are working now, thanks. I wound up needing to remove XHiFI and V4A FX, then re-installed just V4A, re-installed the driver, rebooted, reset it to be default music effect, and it's working again.
I had this issue with my LG G2 (Verizon model) I was trying to install the Viper driver (High Quality sound) but my busybox couldn't install. "Unable to verify my root" error. So I tried a different route...
Use this app to install busybox (instead of the official one) and it should work.

Good luck!

Where can I find that kernel file? I am having the same issue. The message is "Driver Install Failed, the busybox found on your device does not work.
This usually means you installed the wrong or broken busybox, V4A needs stericson bisybox to work. if you sure about having installed the proper busybox, then please confirm your device has been totally rooted."
Phone- Sony Xperia C
1. My device is properly rooted.
2. Busybox is same to which the app redirects.
What are my options?

Try reinstalling busybox from this app and try again. Manual installation of V4A driver is not working now.

No succes after uncheck the namespace checkbox and reboot.
Nexus 5 MMB29x
If this helps, running:
Busybox Free version 1.24.1
Installed in system/xbin AND system/bin (dropdown on Busybox install screen under version)
SuperSU - Mount namespace separation UNCHECKED
SELinuxModeChanger set to PERMISSIVE
That did it! Thanks for superfast support!

Worked for me as well! Wondering if this is a recent problem as I've had Viper installed up to a few days ago. Had to install on a new phone, same model.
I've got busybox installed properly, it's Stericson's, I've checked if it's working and it is, I have given root permission to V4A and I have plenty of space for the drivers to be installed. I'm on a rooted h959 15e image, I'm not really willing to revert back to previous software versions, and I'm stuck with this problem. The exact message I get is "Driver install failed: The busybox installation found on your device does not work. This usually means you installed a wrong or broken busybox. V4A needs Stericson's busybox to work. If you are sure you installed busybox properly, then please confirm your device has been completely rooted". But it is rooted, I can access all types of root-only things like xposed and root booster. SELinuxModeChanger is set to permissive, I have tried with both V4A apps from the DXA thread and from the (not the FX one) one in Google Play, and I have already tried uninstalling and installing everything, and I have also tried reflashing my rooted_system.img countless times. So root is working, busybox is working, SELinuxModeChanger is properly set up, why isn't it working? Also I noticed something, when I reboot my phone, SELinuxModeChanger changes the SELinux mode back to enforcing, but if I turn on the option to show a notification after the mode changes, the notification IS showed, so it must mean it's working, right? I have tried before without poweramp and dolby atmos, but as of now I'm using both. I don't even know if V4A will work with Atmos and Poweramp (Atmos and Poweramp do work together, though), but I just need to try it, even if it means uninstalling atmos. So I'm completely out of options. The only thing that I can think of is if there's a way to manually install the drivers (latest updated/updatable super audio quality ones), but I don't know if that's possible. So anyway, can anyone help me with this?
You should flash a zip from this site: http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6/themes-apps/viper4android-t2952137. I used this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=3667403&d=1456929089, and it works. Of course, flashfire v0.24 is required.

I'm flashing the zip file viper|atmos 5.5 sony beats edition with flashfire 0.50, and nothing's happening. Again, SELinux mode is permissive and busybox is installed, but atmos app and viper app won't show up, and when installing the app from the playstore, it says the driver is not installed. Help, please?

1. First, install ViPER4Android apk from the official site: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2191223. You can choose between the old (v2.3.4.0) and new (v2.4.0.1) version.
2. Then flash a zip from this site: http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6/themes-apps/viper4android-t2952137. I used "ViPERAudio 5.4 Stock.zip" (compatible with V4A v2.4.0.1). You can also choose "ViPERAudio 4.7.1 Stock.zip", if you have V4A v2.3.4.0 installed. I didn't try other mods (such as "viper|atmos 5.5 sony beats edition"), so I don't know if they work.
3. For flashing, you have to use FlashFire v0.24, other versions don't work with the device. Link: http://flashfireapk.com/flashfire-0.24.apk.
* Also, you don't have to change SELinux.
Thanks

Thank you very much, friend, I'm gonna try your method right now. Just one question, why doesn't flashfire 0.50 work with the g flex 2? I flashed Xposed with it and it worked. Isn't 0.24 an older version?
How do you test the benefits?

Actually, I don't know. I've read somewhere that v0.24 is the only working version for our flex 2. I didn't want to brick my device, so I used v0.24. I've had no problems with it so far.

I've tried with version 0.24 and it didn't work either. I'm gonna test the g flex 2 flash mod (the one with g4 tweaks and etc) with flashfire 0.24, since it says to use that version and it didn't work flashing it with 0.50, and if it still doesn't work for me, I'll revert back to 0.50, since it worked flashing dolby atmos (seperate from viper4audio, but the viper4audio-only zip file didn't flash). I fixed my problem of drivers not installing, so I'll just install atmos again and install the v4a drivers through the app. But thank you all for your help, really . If I menage to get all the mods I have working, I'll make a thread so that H959 rooted 15e image users can enjoy the best experience in their G flex 2.
maybe you never get viper4 to work in GF2...i did it many times with diferent methods and never never get it to work...even use the flashfire 0.24 (the only working to install zips on GF2) you never get a driver to work!
i recomend to you install Dolby Atmos see Apps section in this forum of GF2...the Dolby Atmos works like a charm and do the good job as Viper4.
(i am not sure but because of architeture of the SD810 Viper4 the latest version never will work on our device!)
That's strange... I'm on H955 v15c, V4A 2.4.0.1 with "ViPERAudio 5.4 Stock.zip" installed using FlashFire v0.24.
Everything works.

Hey all,
Just purchased a LG U2 and now trying to make it work in the way i want it.
All informations here seem very old, so I wanted to open an update thread, with all what is possible on th lgu2, while
I found only very outdated informations...:crying:
So far:
First I setup the watch with AW2.0, after that flashed twrp 3.1.1.0 and supersu wear 2.82
I managed to get busybox installed and wanted further add Xposed.
There my problem starts, flashing xposed didn't work out.
So right after that, I switchd to Magisk root, to try work with the modules supplied.
(Steps -> use script UnSU, after that flash boot.img again, than flash MAgisk through twrp)
But after that the same with the modules. I try to install busybox, magisk tell me its no magisk module (i've downloaded the module and pushed it on the sd through adb, while the download button isn't reachable in magisk dialogue menu)
in twrp the module tells me there is no magisk installed.
so how can we go on from here? is there a way to make it all work?
did somebody try to change dpi and download the module directly through magisk? does it work?
also if somebody could help with an updated list of sideload able full android apps?
would need an email that can handle at least two accounts directly on the watch (please not advice outlook, its working from the phone i know)
thanks to all in advance

Hi guys,
I am using the optimized stock rom located here. aaaaawawawaa using BitO-KU kernel. The sound is very low on my Nvidia Shield k1. I have done the tweaks located here. In the thread it says that viper4android makes a big difference as well. When I try to install viper4android I keep getting an I/O error when trying to install the driver. I downloaded SELinux changer but when I launch it I am getting an error in it as well. It says the app was unable to gain root access. I checked in supersu and SELinuxModeChanger does have root access. So I don't understand why it will not work either. In terminal emmulator it says that permissive mode is enabled. Can someone please let me know what I'm doing wrong? I would really like to get viper4android working.
Thank you,
Rocky
1. It isn't good rom, I've had it only two days. Stock kernel is better too.
2. I'm on stock 5.2(K1), rooted with Magisk 14, installed M modules:
V4A 2.0 by ahrion, busybox by osm0sis. V4A works good but I don't need it for speakers. @grimreaper1014
Do you have properly installed busybox?
Just flash Viper4Android using Magisk 14 (its located under downloads tab) and disable AudioFX if you even have that on stock ROM. Then it should work but note that if you get processing error just create a folder named "MagiskManager" and it should work then.
Ok thanks guys. Right now I have SuperSu flashed via recovery. Do I have to remove that somehow to install magisk?

@grimreaper1014 create the folder in /storage/emulated/0/ in case it doesn't want to install the module. If it goes without any problems then congrats you have working Viper4Android !
(Make sure you disable AudiFX app in lineageOS before you do any flashing)

If for some reason you (or others) choose this route, you can remove SuperSU (mandatory in order to install Magisk) using the built-in function in the SuperSU app.

Similar setup: stock 5.2 ROM, with Magisk 14, and simply installed the V4A (version 2.0) module by ahrion. I think the module installed busybox (by osm0sis) automatically, as I don't recall doing it myself. But I maybe I'm not remembering that properly.
V4A working great, no messing with SELinux.

THIS GUIDE WAS FROM THE NOVEMBER SECURITY PATCH ON NOUGAT!!! DO NOT DO THIS IF YOU ARE ON OREO CAUSE YOU WILL LOSE ALL SOUND!
IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO USE VIPER ON OREO/PIE DEVICES. PLEASE USE THE MAGISK MODULE AND/OR FIND A BETTER GUIDE WITH A COMPATIBLE ZIP

Okay I have confirmed that sound mods work on the Moto z2 force with no issues whatsoever many probably know that
How to Install:
1.
make sure you have root and TWRP installed on your Moto Z2 force
2.
download this version of A.R.I.S.E.
https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=457095661767141554
3.
Place the zip file in the Internal storage of your device (so its easy to find)
4.
Boot into TWRP recovery and click install
5.
Find the file you put in your internal storage named;
ARISE+Deuteronomy+2.94+Modular+AROMA+Installer.zip
And then swipe to install
6
An install wizard should appear and assuming that you haven't used this before select easy mode on the wizard and make sure you have it set to "install core engine then modules" and spam the hell out of the next button besides those 2 things
7.
TWRP screen should appear and you should boot into your device like normal
8.
ENJOY
SOME NOTES:
A.R.I.S.E AM3D DOES NOT WORK BUT OTHER THAN THAT EVERYTHING ELSE IS FINE
Update: DO NOT ATTEMPT TO INSTALL MAGNUM OPUS IT WILL FAIL

Man.. I was going to try ARISE, but with all the concerns that I couldn't restore a nandroid because of data partition encryption, I just said screw it and I installed the v4a 2.3.4 module right from Magisk, and it works great with both USB Type-C to 3.5mm and Bluetooth.
I don't know if anyone's noticed or not, but Oreo has an entire section on Bluetooth audio protocol under the development options. Things like sample rate, bit rate, etc etc. I do know that v4a works with all protocols (SBC, AAC, aptX, aptX HD and LDAC), but if you up the sample rate to 96khz, it will NOT process. I usually use 48khz and it sounds great.
I installed arise and lost all audio on device . I don't know if it's a setting or something in aroma I should not have added or if it's viper settings I messed with .
I need to uninstall this how do I
Or how do I get sound back this is weird

Yes sir, I am. Since I got it working, I haven't touched anything in fear that it'll stop working. I haven't even made a nandroid. Twrp isn't installed, I just booted in it from adb.
Right on! I was also advised not to install TWRP. I flashed it and it seems to be working so far. Having other issues though like my camera and flash (flashlight) don't work now since installing magisk or the v4a which one I'm not sure but I assume magisk.
3/12/18 Update: camera and Flash are working properly now after a wipe Dalvik, cache and reboot.
Is anyone else having issues with viper4android working intermittently on Oreo? Sometimes it works but mostly it doesn't and I have no way to control it, toggling the switches does nothing and it doesn't matter if I reboot or not. It does work sometimes so I know the drivers are installed, and I've tried a fresh install a few times using the 2.3.4 version and the newest 5.0 version which produces the same result.
Is there a setting in magisk or Viper that I need to apply to to get it working seamlessly? I have systemless hosts check-in magisk already for ad blocking. There's got to be something I'm missing here. Any help is greatly appreciated thanks!
I was having this situation, the I disabled the music FX and it's gone for now
Flashlight stops because of selinux
Dolby Atmos for oreo works fine without any problems. You just have to find the working version in the last few pages of the mod thread.
Was able to get the latest ARISE, plus V4A, and Dolby ATMOS Oreo from guitardedhero working. I'm using SuperSU as I'm not a fan of Magisk. Flashed the latest ARISE, including the V4A 2.5.0.5. Crap, I made sure V4A opened and checked that the drivers were installed. But I may have flashed the ViPER4Android_FX_v2505_A7.x_Nougat_IO_test_fix.apk over the ARISE loaded v4a apk....? Try to see if the loaded apk works first. If not, flash Nougat_IO_test_fix.apk over: ViPER4Android_FX_v2505.zip Anyway, use this to set permissive: The.SELinux.Switch.ver.6.0.3.build.603.apk. Reboot. ARISE libs will be there and V4A should work. Sometimes you have to turn off the main power button for the V4A mod, go up to the corner button and exit. Clear out anything in recents. Then open V4A back up, and enable the power button. If music is playing, you will hear the change.
Ok.....Dolby. Go HERE and download the normal zip. Thank the dude, he's done a lot for us audiophiles. Flash it. Reboot. Apps will be there, and will likely forceclose. You have to extract the dolby zip and copy the libs from the dolby/lib and dolby/lib/soundfx files and paste them in the related folders in root /system/vendor and system/vendor/soundfx. You need to set the permissions to rw-r-r (644). Now save/reboot. Apps should work. I'm betting other libs/files weren't installed either, but just those got Atmos working, working well. Still looking through things and will verify later what else wasn't placed.:good:
Quick Question, I have used ARISE and Viper before and really like them but this is a Software Mod. I would just like to clarify that this Software Mod works on the actual Hardware Mod and if it does, does this Software Mod work on the Hardware Mod using a Custom ROM or Kernal? Can anyone confirm that yet?

Sorry about this... You may have to back up your internal then flash back to stock. This guide was from when our device was still on nougat. For Oreo I need you to install the module from MAGISK or find the magnum opus zip
