anyone here knows if a ticwatch watch face would work on a huawei watch 2?
They work for basic time, date and battery. No other functions like step counter or weather works.
I am also trying the same, but unable to get those working.

Hello guys,
As I said in the title, face unlock doesn't work for me in android 5.0 LRX21O. It didn't work in preview versions also.
I have read several reviews on this feature, watched several videos, but i have never managed not once to unlock the device this way. I think i have registered almost 20 conditions for face matching, in different light condition, but the result is the same, it doesn't unlock the phone this way.
How is your experience with this feature?
Workinbg fine her ei don't see any proble mat all
probably your face is not compatible with this feature.
I had no problems here

Lol.
Probably, that's the only face I have unfortunately.. But seriously, it worked in KitKat.
Well, gonna ask a friend to set up this with his face and see how this will turn out.
it doesn't work for me either! I've tried to improve the matching also. It worked better when it first came out on the Galaxy Nexus.
I flashed the image via Mac and each partiton one at a time. I'm wondering if you did a full wipe including the user data? I didn't so I'm going to try that next maybe, or maybe wipe a particular folder in the system data to try again. I haven't bothered to root the phone yet I was going to do that at some point in the next few days.
It works for me if the room has good light conditions

you might be expecting it to open to your homescreen like it used to. it doesn't do that. it simply (and very subtley) just unlocks the lock icon at the bottom which then allows you to swipe up without having to enter your pin or pattern.

nop, i know how it works.
i have discovered what the problem was. i was locking the screen with an app and not by power button, so for a reason i do not know, the face unlock doesn't work if you lock the device this way.
Hello Everyone,
I'm fresh owner (bouth a week ago) of Honor 9 and I'm very happy with the choise I've made. The phone is incredible fast (comparing from my previous Galaxy S6) and EMUI is well optimised. But, ehm let's complain a bit . I'm courious what kind of feature you're missing on your Honor 9 phone/EMUI. For me the complaining list would look like:
- Missing ability to control notification light - different freq. and color for different apps
- Gesture for home button - there would be nice if "scroll up/down" would trigger to enroll notification arean
- Dim clock as screensaver while charging (very usefull as I'm charging my phone while sleeping, and so could be use as night clock)
- Knock Knock feature on locked phone - to see notification when phone is on the table (I know there is notification LED for it)
Ok that's my complaining list. If you have any idea to overcome such a limitation feel free to suggest. Also don't hesitate to complain a bit as well

I don't think there is a way to over come your complaints without rooting your device. Even rooting your device won't allow you to use the features you want on the home button.

Hi iceepyon,
yes I believe you're right, there the missing feature about home button won't be most probably overcome without ROOTing the device and use custome KERNEL. To by honest with you I'd rather to not use the feature as some application I'm using won't run on ROOTed phones (based on official statements).
Hovewer I believe some of missing feature could be added by some app?Any recommendation?

- most phones nowadays don't have notification light. Probably because the phone spend most of its time in our hands
- I agree with this one. The fingerprint scanner supports swiping gesture
- honor 9 uses ips lcd screen, even if its dimmed, the whole screen still light up. This will heavily drain the battery
- you can use wave on proximity sensor app to turn the screen on

@pijes,
1. Maybe most of the phones doesn't have notification LED (wouldn't be so sure about this one), but Honor 9 does, so ability to control it would be usefull
2. Yeah would be nice, but dunno if if is possible withou kernel upgrading
3. Yes, could be battery dainer, but I'm speaking about situation when the phone is charging actually
4. Can you explain a bit deeper the statement, about to using "waze on proximity sensor app"?
Thx

3. Charging and discharging simultaneously can be harmful to the battery health
4. There are a few apps out there that try to simulate the wake screen using gestures and usually they implement it by making use of the proximity sensor. AcDisplay, WaveUp and Glance Plus are among them

Well, there is honestly nothing much which can be done if you want to add the knock on wake feature. Same can be said of the notification LED as those are built into the device's official stock OS. The only thing you can do is install a 3rd party OS and hope that it has some of the features you want. However be warned that most if not all 3rd party OSes do not have the best post image processing software so your pictures won't turn out as good as if you have taken them using the stock OS that came with your device.
@iceepyon, yes I can imagine that most 3rd party OS won't have such a camera software optimalization. Btw, I've read some post about how to enable 3rd party clock as screensaver. I can't understand why Honor/Huawei disabled this feature, which is present in stcok android.

Probably due to security issues. As Huawei has been focusing quite allot on making and keeping their devices secure.
@iceepyon, I really don't know how "clock" screensaver would expose the security more than "image slideshow" screensaver

If you are using a 3rd party widget. There is a possibility that the widget may have certain permissions that could cause a issue.

@iceepyon, I believe that's problem with all 3rd party applications Its matter of trust in Google Play. I found this tutorial to set custom screensaver on Huawei devices: https://www.xda-developers.com/how-...ver-on-huawei-and-honor-devices-running-emui/
What do you think, would it work for Honor 9?

Ummmm. Probably. Personally I wouldn't as you could easily mess up the settings on your device.

That's right, but with 90% of advices/topic here on `xda` you can easily mess up your device settings, isn't that true? Anyway thank you for your opinion.

That is certainly true of rooting or installing custom OSes onto your mobile device. As there are so many things which can go wrong. However current versions of android are now at a point where unless you need to have your device rooted for work purposes. There really isn't a point for the average user to do so.
Hello Fellow Wear Users and Devs,
I just got the HW2 the other day and since then have done all possible updates. One thing I am curious about is the watch mode. It seems after the N7176C update (US BT LEO-BX9) the watchface for watch mode has changed. This got me wondering if there is a way to change that watchface all together. I have pulled what I think is the app that controls this known as SuperSavePower.apk. I'll see if I can upload it somewhere for someone to mess with if they so choose. Has anyone else had success in changing the low power watch mode watchface?
Yes i have watch2 classic and new n7176c build has changed watch mofe from analog to classic which is not my taste. Anyone else got update? And can conrirm if we can go back to analog...
I got the update as well but can't pull the new version of the app. I do like the new settings but not the digital watchface. Maybe I can pull the app via adb and see if it is possible to make changes to it. However, I am in no way a dev therefore I'm not always knowing if what is the best way to achieve said result.
I like the new digital watch face more than the old one. But I think it is sad that you can't choose if you want a digital or analog..
Hi,
I have noticed the apps change on my watch at a nighttime, so when I run my finger down to bring up the 6 shortcuts (Airplane Mode, Volume, Battery, Google Pay, Cinema Mode and Do Not Disturb). However at night there are a few icons I dont know what they are, GPay for instance is replaced with another icon. They seem to differ from during the day to night time. Does anyone else's watch do this, or know what how to stop it?
Regards
I did not notice this, will check tonight

Does it fix the Heart rate complication on 3rd party watch faces?
Fix it? It is supposed to improve accuracy. According to the developer who did the watch faces I use this was an issue with the watch face developer tool (Watch Face Studio) and not the watch. I had the same issue and several weeks ago they came out with new version of Watch Face Studio. He updated the faces with new version and HR works great now.

Oh.
But all wear os watch faces don't work either - so I thought it was something to do with the firmware.
Which 3rd party watch face do you use where heart rate complication works? Does it work in real-time like all the other samsung stock watch faces?
Mateo Dinis wear os watch faces work great with heart rate....

I use Mateo Dini faces as well. With his faces it gives you a new HR number when you tap the HR on face. Before the Watch Face Studio update this feature was not working. I think him doing it this way was intentional. Not sure why.
The stock faces do not do it in real time (when you turn wrist). I never use stock faces but I tried one for a bit to test. The number is changing so I imagine it is value of when HR measurement was last taken. If your watch is set to every 10 minutes (as mine is) the face will probably have different value every 10 minutes.
I plan on asking Matteo about this. I suspect there is some issue with Watch Face Studio and setting up face to get the last measurement from the watch. I don't believe this is issue with firmware on watch.

The solution for this is on Reddit - you have the option to select detailed notifications in the notifications settings.

My Gmail notifications weren't a big issue. The issue I've had with notifications is sometimes I either wouldn't get some, or I would but no sound, vibration, and it didn't pop up on the screen, but they would be on the watch. But for all apps, not just Gmail. I guess I haven't really paid much attention today, but I'm pretty sure I got all of them. I'll report back tomorrow.
I did just notice that the laser stopped flickering and is just full on... Not t sure what's up with that. I rebooted, same. Hopefully it passes.

I use a Matteo Dini face as well MD111, however there's no way to display UV index in the complications. Know any MD faces that can show it ?
Where are you guys mostly getting your watch faces from?
