[Completed] how to upgrate Kitkat in Xperia Miro

I have Xperia Miro I want to upgrade it to kitkat but officially it haven't been released for Xperia miro so what i have to do to get my miro upgraded
Hi @Jayesh4all
Since there isn't an official Kitkat update for your device released, your only resort is to use custom firmware. It seems there are Alpha Cyanogenmod 11 builds for this device.
What is Cyanogenmod?
Code:
CyanogenMod is an aftermarket firmware for a number of cell phones based on the open-source Android operating system. It offers features not found in the official Android based firmwares of vendors.
CyanogenMod is based of AOSP and is the closest you'll come to stock Android. Bear in mind that this build is still in Alpha stages and will be buggy.
This is the only way you can use Android KitKat on you Xperia Miro.
Cheers!
Really helpful

thanks alot for your help
so which would be better for now Kitkat or Jelly bean and if i update to jelly bean will i be able to upgrade to kilkat in future ??
This: {MIRO/TIPO/J/E}[DEVELOPMENT] - CM10 - FreeXperia Project seems to be the least buggy CyanogenMod build. Yes there is a good chance that they resolve the bugs for the CM11 ( Kitkat ) build and make it fully usable.
Cheers!

[Sony] Xperia Open Devices Project

Sony Mobile is committed to supporting the open developer community, and one way to show this is by publishing parts of our code as well as selected tools developed by our internal developers.
For some of the Xperia™ devices, we provide Android™ Open Source Project (AOSP) device configurations on GitHub. This means that the software will be open for you as a developer to use and contribute to. This is a way for us to support the open Android community, and it is also a tool for us to facilitate and verify contributions to AOSP.
If you want to build AOSP for your unlocked Xperia device, you find all the resources you need in the sections below.

I assume AOSP_L_MR1_151203_castor.zip has the v14 and therefore a working camara, right?
There was another issue with AOSP on Z2 LTE Tablet, namely that in Youtube some colors got psychedelic.
Has anyone verified if this is problem is gone.
I run latest FXP CM 12.1 FXP-cm-12.1-20150810-UNOFFICIAL-castor.zip and I am happy with it.
Is there perhaps a CM in the make with v14?

I read in post
How to enable and enter recovery mode
1. Use the Flash tool for Xperia devices to install the latest generic software on your unlocked device.
2. Use the Flash tool for Xperia devices to install <device name> (Open devices) TA update.
so 2 questions:
- can one, instead of latest generic software, also have latest FXP AOSP software installed?
- where are the "<device name> (Open devices) TA update" files to be found?
(or does Flash tool for Xperia find those automagically?)
also: I have no Windows machine and use Androxyde on MacOSX or Linux. Will this work?
We have published new binaries

Any working aosp builds?

I know that Sony has released aosp for marshmallow, but I haven't seen any builds to download. Is the rom not working? I can try compiling the code myself, but I'd like to know if the rom would be suitable for daily use.
I've only seen Sony's Concept Marshmallow for the Z3. Aside of that only the open source code is published without the proprietary drivers/binaries.

Safe and deegoogled rom

Im looking for most safe and degoogled rom for Xperia 5 mk1. Can You recommend something? And why? I want see why You want to install something that is not recommend.
LineageOS is a great option, once Miustone's AOSP is complete I think he might work on LineageOS 19 for the Xperia 5, at the moment we have an unofficial version of LineageOS 18.1 by Sjlls but it is quite out of date with security patches. I am excited for a pure AOSP with working cameras though once Sony have fixed their SODP AOSP... Hopefully we get LineageOS aswell but it'll take time so we have to be very patient.
At the moment I recommend rooting on the stock ROM, or a rom of your choice, installing AFWall+ (firewall) and blocking everything except from apps you use.
