Hey folks, for some of you, this post title might not mean much. For people who bought the google pixel phone(XL or sailfish) from the US and live abroad, this might be encouraging.
Long story: I could never get volte to work on my pixel sailfish, even after my carrier(Bouygues France ) pushed the settings. Well, I installed dp2 and when I checked under apn settings, I saw that there was a new option entitled "IMS" . This gave me a bit of hope.
So, I scrolled through all my saved posts , tried using the magisk module for enabling volte, but it no longer worked. So, I decided to edit my buildprop manually and voila, after a reboot , I saw under the menu of *#*#4636#*#* that I was ims registered and that volte provisioning was enabled. Even tested it by calling my wife and the 4g symbol stayed at 4g while on call. Noticed quite a difference in the call quality , too!
For those needing the settings I added manually to my buildprop:
persist.sys.cust.lte_config=true
persist.dbg.volte_avail_ovr=1
persist.dbg.ims_volte_enable=1
persist.radio.volte.dan_support=true
persist.data.iwlan=1
persist.data.iwlan.enable=true

persist.radio.calls.on.ims=1
persist.radio.data_con_rprt=1

Nope. I tried to use the pixel 2 hack which uses QPST, PDC, and various mbn files to no avail. I have native voLTE and sms over wiif using stock messages app. If I need vowifi, i just stick with whatsapp. Pixel 3 and 3a are locked down and if we cant access diag mode, then there is nothing we can do:-/

There should be VoLTE option for your sim..
If no, There is many chances that your SIM maybe not 4G ready or your circle don't have VoLTE feature..

Needs root but the only way I got it to work here is with the magisk module.
Ya, don't go playing with the band selection, or you may just get dropped to 2g connection with no LTE possible.
After digging around, I found a fix to get LTE back.
Download the "Network Signal Guru" app from the Play Store.
I told it to "Clear Forcings" in the menu, and LTE is back up.
Cantn find The Module can You give some more Informationen?
This won't work in Europe at least, no matter how Volte ready is your network/SIM card. OnePlus just ignores the issue.
This method https://forum.xda-developers.com/on...-volte-vowifi-german-carriers-t3817542/page28 works for activating VoLTE if your operator had enabled it for you.
I tried the method in the current post, but only got the toggles in the menu and not the real thing.
Had to call the mobile operator (Telenor BG, Bulgaria) to ask them to activate VoLTE and then did the method in the linked post.
I have a non-rooted OP6 and I'm now effectively using VoLTE on my network. Hope that helps.
Hmmm, does anybody know which was the previous default setting? I would like to revert it back and don't remember what setting was set before...

It doesn't work with Kuwait Viva !
If you want to get VoLTE and VoWiFi menu under SIM options in your OP6 just type *#800# in default dialer (not working in ther dialers) and under oneplus logkit>Function switch there is VoLTE and VoWiFi switch This is only to have that switch visible in menu so it isnt a guarantee that VoLTE will work on your device because your network carrier must support it and if it is not supported by carrier then VoLTE will not work no matter if you enable it with menu switch

Go to "Phone", Settings, SIM & Network Settings, then in to the SIM you want, and the VoLTE and WiFi calling is in there. It's NOT in the traditional Settings app.

jamal2367's method (see here in English: https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-5t/how-to/guide-volte-vowifi-german-carriers-t3817542) works fine with OOS9/Pie.
Just updated & patched modem config with PDC as described in the link (I'm using the config "Telefonica_UK_Commercial" for O2 in Germany) and I'm up again with VoLTE/VoWifi working..
Still a shame that Oneplus is incapable to do enable the right config by default..
but it is just that in OOS9 you miss those switches what were in OOS5.11 in "Enhanced networking, this group is all missing in Pie
Has anyone got this working, the icon is enabled but it's not showing up.
Volte only works iff you buy a volte compatible phone from 3 shop. It has to be one of there phones or its blocked. Unlike on O2 iff the phone is volte compatible it even works with some of there pay as you go phones. For this reason i am going to leave 3 after my contract finishes.

My last phone was a phone not sold in the UK but that worked?
Which phone was it and where did you buy it I know for a fact that any phone which has volte but not bought through 3 store will have the volte IMS service blocked because you need there version of Android firmware for it to work. I have had many arguments with 3 customer support over this.
the Volte and Wifi Settings are blocked by OP in their official firmware because they need the carrier to allow the settings on their phones. Some Asian imported phone manufacturers sometimes disobey them and allow it but this is not the norm.
Have you noticed that when you put in a sim from a major operator in the uk the internet/mms etc settings are usually auto configured?
three for example, configure their sims to block any 'non authorised' phone to auto download the required settings to enable wifi calling and volte.
This means that the only way of bypassing it (a bit like Sammy csc changing) is if there is a custom ROM available with the three settings pre loaded. EE are the only network that are essentially a 'slut' and allow their settings to (on the most part) be uploaded to any compatible phone.
I get 100 gig a month, unltd calls and text from Three for a ridiculously low £15 per month. I WILL NOT give that up !!!!
as much as i want an OP6 im sticking with a tried and tested Samsung S9 plus that to be frank is just as fast on the most part, and you can easily load three or whatever branded software to enable all the wifi calling and volte goodies.
O2 allow this also. The only real way to get volte working on a non 3 handset is when 3 release there factory stock images eventually and they can be flashed after rooting. Even with custom roms volte will not work for instance lineage etc although volte is implemented still doesnt work. I had bought a lenovo p2 a few years ago and volte did not work for a whole year untill 3 factory images were released and i rooted the phone and installed the 3 firmware then it started working. 3 are real scumbags in this regard.

all u need to get three volte working is essentially the ims settings, ive seen people being able to get three volte and wifi calling working on various grey imports. But agreed its a very convoluted process.
All one plus's use their own firmware, they dont have carrier versions like samsung and others ...
That is correct the only way oneplus would have volte settings is iff 3 sold oneplus on contract otherwise it is a difficult process. I would be very interested nevertheless iff someone in the future figured out a way to get volte working on a non 3 phone other than using there firmware. By the way i am not a oneplus owner but in fact i have a xiaomi mi6 but i am in the same boat ref volte.

Unfortunately, I was able to flash the H3G firmware onto my Italian source S8 and use both VoLTE and VoWiFi without ever speaking to Three, same applied to the unbranded S9 I got from CPW SIM free!

I have access to a OP5T and VoLTE and VoWiFi both worked out of the box!
My Pixel 2 - not a chance!
It's easy my dude, there are some bugs with it but hey you can't have both of the best world just yet.
Tutorial : Open Magisk - > Go to Downloads - > Search for VoEnabler - > Reboot - > Activate the VoWiFi and VoLTE in the settings. - > SUCCESS.
Bugs? Only bug I found is that every time someone calls you it will say Unknown (While on VoWiFi, haven't checked on VoLTE yet.)
Let me know how you get on
Three VoLTE working here too using Vo Enabler.
Sorry i am in the weird situation although im not a oneplus 6 owner. I have a xiaomi Mi6 and i used the module voenabler and now i can make calls over wifi but the enhanced Lte option in settings has vanished completely and in the 4636 settings the option for wifi calling became available but the volte option is now greyed out.
I have got VOWIFI working on 3 with pie, I upgraded to 9.0.0 then did this
Dialled *#800#
Went into OnePlus logkit
Went into Function Switch and checked VOWIFI and VOLTE then rebooted
The options now appear in SIM settings and you can turn them on or off.
When I installed 9.0.1 the Function switch options had been removed but as I had already turned them on the SIM options persisted On installing 9.0.2 the Function Switch settings had returned but with a dev test warning.
I have entered airplane mode, turned on WiFi then made and received a call.
The 3 IMS was automatically configured
And some screenshots
I was able to active vowifi but volte is not registering, I did notice that when I connect to WiFi a do a call and during the call I disconnect the WiFi volte start working but only on that call after the call finish it discomect and goes back to no volte. This is on three UK with Pie using the logkit.
@crazdgrunt99 does volte still works for you using the vo enabler?
Got Volte working with 3UK
I got Volte working in my OP6 with 3UK. I used the softwares mentioned here - https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-5t/how-to/guide-volte-vowifi-german-carriers-t3817542
I only installed the softwares mentioned and used *#800# oneplus logkit to enable volte/vowifi options- after that I followed other method used by Jamal , guy who figured out these methods for OP6 (please take EFS backup before this procedure)
Open EFS explorer that is part of qpst software, select your phone , it will start loading directory and files-
Once the directory structure is loaded , go to following path - nv/item_files/modem/mmode
Open the attachment with this post. Delete all files that are same name as in the attachment from Mmode directory in EFS explorer. Note some files are not there. After deletion load the files from attachment to EFS explorer - load as item files - you can select all and load
Reboot phone and it should have Volte working.
Now that A10 is available for the OP6, I can confirm VoLTE working on both OB1 and the production version, at last. (no hacks required)
What about WiFi calling that works too
Hey everyone, long time lurker first time poster here!
I recently bought a Oneplus 6 to replace my Oneplus 3T and it is awesome. My network is id mobile in the UK, and it does provide VoLTE and VoWiFi, but not to many handsets.
I quickly rooted and installed Magisk thanks to the guide showing how to root and install Magisk without TWRP.
One if the first things I did was install VoEnabler, and after a quick reboot I had WiFi calling enabled, tested, and working on my phone!
I noticed today that any incoming calls over WiFi will display as an unknown number. As soon as I turn off VoWiFi incoming calls display correctly. Looking back through my call history over the past week all incoming calls display as. Unknown number or private number, but no outgoing ones.
I've tried a few things but no luck so far:
Network settings reset
Installed Google contacts and dialler
A few different changes to BuildProp
Nothing has worked, so I have disabled VoEnabler and manually added the following to by build prop:
persist.dbg.ims_volte_enable=1
persist.dbg.volte_avail_ovr=1
persist.dbg.vt_avail_ovr=1
persist.dbg.wfc_avail_ovr=1
persist.radio.rat_on=combine
persist.radio.data_ltd_sys_ind=1
persist.radio.data_con_rprt=1
persist.radio.calls.on.ims=1
Which is basically what VoEnabler adds anyway.
I have a feeling I'm missing something that might be obvious to someone better than I am.
Since my network natively supports WiFi calling and VoLTE to Huawei P20, lite and Pro too, I wondered if there was maybe a build prop entry one of those phones had that I might have to add. Honestly I'm not sure.
Apologies if this is in the wrong section, and thanks to anyone that can offer some advice!
Update Edit:
I've also found that I don't have the WiFi provisioned toggle in the phone information by dialling *#*#4636#*#*, maybe this has something to do with it
A quick update to this,
VoLTE works just as well as VoWiFi, but it has the same issue with incoming calls showing as unknown number...
Will continue looking and post results here
This worked for me.
On 5.1.11 I had Volte working on AT&T no problems using VoEnabler magisk module.
After upgrading >OB1>OB2 I had no VoLTE using this method.
Still using MAgisk 17.1 VoEnabler. I decided to install the modem.img from 5.1.11
First I did my backup of the EFS partition Thank you FunkWizard for your wonderful post.
Next, I did a nandroid including EFS and Modem.
Found the Modem file in Mauronofrio's Fastbbot zip. Thank you too. I have used two of your fastboot files so far!
Next I rebooted. Booted to fastboot.
and typed this.
Fastboot flash modem modem.img
rebooted. still a no go.
Calls worked signal was still good. but decided to go back to pie modem.
Booted to TWRP restored modem. rebooted system and imediately the VoLTE icon was in the status bar.
Tested a call and immediate connection.
Give it a whirl!! I was debating going back to 5.1.11 but I, SO did not want to.
Let me know if this "modem toggle" helped you get VoLTE back on with AT&T!
:good:
Edit* After post I went to settings to look at enhanced communication. I can confirm that VoLTE is NOT in the settings only WIFI Calling and calling preference, however I CAN confirm that VoLTE is working. I went from a 20-30 second connection dropping signal to 3g or H+ to consistent LTE during calls and instant call connection.
2nd edit. I had to hard reboot my phone. This is the 3rd time I've seen this on OB1 and 2. The screen goes black. Appears to be adaptive brightness bug. I was in a call on my wifes vmail. , i couldn't end the call, so dim I couldnt see anything. So after hard reboot I tested again. No go.
I took a look at the build prop. The settings were not "injected" in the file. A manual copy and paste of the code ultimately fixed VoLTE.
It has survived 5 reboots and several test calls.
The above procedure must have been a total fluke.
maybe you just had to reboot and thats all?
I have been playing all weekend with Voenabler turning off and on OB1>OB2 upgrade. Rebooted umpteen times. IDK after this it worked. Maybe a fluke. but it is working. and Im happy.

Can you please post screenshots of what exactly you changed or added in the buildprop. I'v been researching this ever since the office pie came out and have had no dice.. the VOEnabler module in magisk worked fine prior to PIE. But not in 9.0.

First thing- my 6 is rooted with Magisk. YMMV.
I added all the build.prop lines from the first post of this thread, rebooted and got nowhere. Then I did the dial code shown above and rebooted. Then I saw the VoLTE option in my control panel, and turned it on. The result is as shown.
I ditched the enabler.
Try *#*#4636#*#* switch it on there and reboot.

Toggle is greyed out in the dialer so I can't switch it on. Already enabled the magisk module and added the build prop mods myself. Anything else I can try?
There's a difference between allowing the toggle to pop-up in settings and volte actually working. ATT doesn't allow volte on non-branded phones. It's their policy. Dial a call out without WiFi. If volte actually works your connection will stay on lte while the call is connected. Regardless of build prop edits, hidden menu toggles, or anything, you'll notice the signal change to H+. Volte doesn't work.

Seems to be working for me, thankfully. I am hard of hearing and there is a very noticeable difference in call quality when using VoLTE. Otherwise I wouldn't care if it worked or not.

Interesting. I've tried so many volte enablers and never had any luck with ATT. I'll have to give those prop edits a shot
Finally got it working on AT&T. My experience below...
Okay... So my line already had VoLTE activated via an Android device (AT&T Note 9) and VoLTE wasn't working on my OP6 after the *#800# trick. Verified I was provisioned by using my SIM in my wife's Pixel 2 and VoLTE worked.
Did some more research and decided to try my work SIM (AT&T provisioned for VoLTE via iPhone 7+) and I got the VoLTE icon and no longer dropping to 3G on calls.
Chatted into AT&T and had them update my IMEI and account settings to an iPhone 7+ IMEI, now have working VoLTE! So, for those of you who don't have it working yet... call/chat in and have your IMEI/Provisioning updated to that of a VoLTE-compatible iPhone and (along with the \*#800# hack) should have working VoLTE. You will need an IMEI from a VoLTE-compatible iPhone, but that shouldn't be too hard to acquire.
TLDR: AT&T has to provision your line for an iPhone for this to work.

This is what I was talking about. Just enabling the options in settings doesn't magically grant volte capability on their network. I'm pretty sure every so often ATT goes through the IMEI registry and checks to make sure the Sim reports the same IMEI as what is listed in your account. So after a time, this "hack" will fail and need to be readdressed. At least that is what I have read from people who have done this procedure. What I'm confused by is how some people seem to have volte by simply enabling the option via build prop and why lots of others (myself included) have to resort to IMEI spoofing

This is what I was talking about. Just enabling the options in settings doesn't magically grant volte capability on their network. More than likely, those people had iPhones before switching to the OP6 and their accounts were already provisioned. The provisioning won't change unless someone changes it.

I'm not sure. I had an ATT branded v20 before this that had volte and wifi calling before this phone. I simply pulled the Sim out of that and popped it in the op6. However, I dont have those features working and on my ATT account my device picture is grayed out. But maybe iPhones are treated differently on the network?
Honestly just really curious in the different outcomes

Uhm.... Yeah.... That's what I said.
Your account needs to be provisioned for an iPhone IMEI for VoLTE to work. The people who it's working without manually having AT&T change their provisioning likely had iPhones before switching to OP6 (yours didn't work because you, like me, had a VoLTE Android phone).
I had a Note9 with working VoLTE, swapped SIM and VoLTE wasn't working, had AT&T reprovision my account with iPhone IMEI and now it works.
The system will sweep and update IMEIs periodically but it won't change the back-end provisioning automatically because that's technically a "plan change" which will never happen automagically.

Gotcha. Thanks for the info. Strange that services don't transfer even from ATT branded Android phones, as it's essentially the same thing as an iPhone, but I'm no expert in backend service for cellphones.

Last question I had was if I don't have an iPhone Imei, would my old v20's work? Considering the back-end provisioning for volte/wifi calling worked/works fine for it.
Cant remember what exactly what I did, but I followed guides here;
https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-7-pro/help/force-enable-volte-vowifi-t3934227
&
https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-7-pro/how-to/guide-activate-volte-vowifi-t4116051
and
The later being the most recent. Whats even more surprising I have previously heavily de-bloated this rom using xXx No Limits to the extent VoWiFI and LTE feature aren't even available (but I understand changes carry forward as they are saved to the EFI partition)
Anyways, going to dive into to see what exact setting I enabled and will post back.
Any other Telstra users notice they have VoWiFI this morning?
Edit: Updated with PDC Setting for Telstra Volte & VoWiFi :laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:

Yea, so I know have VOLTE as well!! Really a nice surprise this morning because reception hasn't been the best at home. Anyways,
I have a GM1910 (Chinese ver of One Plus 7 Pro 256Gb / 12GB running OOS 9.5.13 GM21AA with xXx No Limits magisk rom + Kirisakura custom kernel.
I have all installation files backed up as well as some are not hosted by the ops anymore.
What I need to figure out are the specific change I made to the IMEI with the qpst programs... I don't think I did anything to major in the end there, it was months ago and didn't yield any affect.
Any Telstra users have VOLTE and VoWiFi without having done anything!?
I'll post later today my PDC settings

Updated post with req. PDC setting, can someone confirm if working on their end too?
No such luck on my end. I have the same model and have tried a few versions to no avail. I have had volte pop up before, but the moment I made a call it switched back to 3G. Have you confirmed them to be working? I need vowifi, i have no reception at home. Sick of facebook calling...

I just made an additional discovery, you also need to have "My Telstra" app installed as well just as a normal app and have run it at least once then reboot. Have you tried that?
Also, in you Sim settings you have VOLTE and WiFi calling enabled?
Volte and VoWiFi are working here, during call it he phone app will advise call is over vowifi
I'm SOL.
Got a HD1913 1+ 7T Pro.
Tried everything but cant get VoLTE or VoWIFI to work on Telstra.
Running Firmware 10.0.10.HD01AA
Have all the options enabled under Sim1 and through *#*#4636#*#* its all enabled.
Unfortunately no VoLTE sign or VoWIFI when calling. HD symbol works during calls, but thats about it.
Even have the Telstra App installed and full permissions.
UPDATE****
So i put the phone into aeroplane mode and enabled only wifi, tried to do a call and it failed, then BAMMM! VoWIFI enables itself and now I have VoWIFI enabled.
UPDATE 2****
VoLTE has enabled itself too. Looks like the trick for Telstra is to go into aeroplane mode, make a call with wifi enabled only, accept that it says called failed and it should enable VoWIFI and VoLTE.
Happy Days!!!
I'm also on Telstra (Boost mobile) and managed to get VoLTE and VoWIFI working on my OnePlus 7 (non-pro version).
I followed the guide exactly as described here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-7-pro/how-to/guide-activate-volte-vowifi-t4116051
After I did all the steps, I rebooted and VOLTE didn't seem to work at first. But then I went into airplane mode and made a call with only Wifi enabled as kw0n2k suggested above. Then VoWIFI and VoLTE started working immediately.
When I was following the guide, the Logkit app preinstalled on my phone didn't have the VoLTE switches so I had to download the Logkit APK they recommended in the post.
For the VoLTE profile, I used "Telefonica_UK_Commercial" as mentioned in the post.
