Hello XDA-members,
Im want to customize the rom for my MK802 device, the manufacture send me the stock rom file (android4.0.4..img). My goal is to add software (apk files) to the rom, so that they cant be removed in android itself. I have googled a lot and I can't figure out how to do this at the .img file.
Is it possible to modify this .img file and add apk's?
Other ways to do this?
I hope you guys can help me figure out, looking foward for reply's!

i would not recomend trying to edit the img file lots of reports of bricking The device from flashing custom img file
and alot of devices that no longer have wifi support do to incompatible wifi driver's OR BAD FLASH

if u would like to add an app to the device that way if u erase of factory default the mk802 it will still be there u must add it as a system App
You can do this easly through adb (Andriod Debugging)
You Must Have Usb Debugging Enable...and windows pc or laptop

If You Have The Original MK802 Ur Pre Rooted Just Download SuperUser From Market and go to the letter i At the top of the right page then click update binarys on next page
1. plug into tv and power on (make sure u use the dc-voltige port for power)
2. navigate to Setting/Developer Options/Usb Debugging and Check This
3. plug usb cord into mk802 (make sure its the OTG port) and plug the other end into pc or laptop
4. windows will find the multimedia mass storage drivers and if u have sd card in it will find that also.. windows wont find the driver for the mk802
dont worry skip this
5. navigate to windows device manager and click on the yellow icon with triangle should say android something....lol (cant remember) and right click it and select update driver and then choose browse my computer for software click browse button and navigate to where android sdk was installed C:\Android\android-sdk\ and then select extra folder then select google folder so the directory should look like this C:\Android\android-sdk\extras\google now click let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer and then scroll down till u see Android Interface And Select it Then select
Android Sooner Single ADB Interface....it should pop up and say windows cant verify if it the right driver click install anyways wait for a min then it should pop up and say windows successfully installed device driver.
6. navigate to windows command line and and type (cd C:\Android\android-sdk\platform-tools) hit enter then typ (adb devices) it will say list of attached devices and a nubmer line under that if there is no number or there just a space there then u need to start back at step 5 if u see ur device proseed to step
if u know adb commands ur good...if not sorry its to long to explain please refer to this here for most adb commands

Hi, does anybody have any idea on how to root this? On their website they have an updater tool which says to get it into recovery you must push power and volume button only there is no volume button.. only physical button is a power button and then there is a reset hole in the back of the tablet. http://www.easypix.eu/smartpad750_en.html
I would like to at least root it and then see if there are any developers for this model.

I found a question from someone who has broken their same model tablet which was rooted, so it is possible.
You can get the proper windows drivers and connect to it through ADB. Using this method you can push clockwork mod touch, and the touch interface should work fine. You might have to use ADB terminals for keypresses as it starts though, I'm not sure how you would boot into recovery without a rom. But once in a rom, you can always select the reboot into recovery option.
do you have any guide for this, Im more just interesting in rooting it to start with. I think I figured out how to get it into some sort of recovery mode but windows wont let me install the recovery mode drivers so I cant do anything

I just rooted it with unlockroot.com , It works for any tablet with the rockchip 2906 (Rk29).

Hi there. Do you mind sharing the info how to get it into some sort of recovery mode . And with the tool from that web site. Was it difficult to do?

It seems impossible for me, I installed the driver, now in the Windows device-manager you can find a "Class for rockusb devices" and there a "RK29 Device" but adb seems not fo find it.
While I see the device in my Windows device manager I pushed the Root-button from the unlockroot.com - tool, but after it tried to check via ADB there comes a popup "not detected any device ..."
Checking it with Ubuntu-Linux with the lsusb - command, this tablet has NO NAME, I can find the VendorID and the ModelID but after that, there is NOTHING , all other USB-Devices do have a name after its IDs, and trying to check via Davlik Debugging Monitor (ddms) you have to chose the name of your device,
but it is impossible to me, because I cannot chose NOTHING to use NOTHING with ADB ... has anybody an idea, how it may work, or has anybody a working ROM on his Easypix Smartpad EP750 which has root or at least a name ?
Maybe anybody has a working udev - entry for Linux ... pls post it here !!!

How did u manage to flash through windows? i have one of these tablets that was handed out with some ****ty program that has been installed by a medical company to give out to patients , with a load of information about certain medical conditions, a load of ****e basically, i want to flash the original rom in order to wipe this crap program from it to allow me to use it as a normal tab . I managed to install the driver but cannot get it into any form of recovery mode in order for the device to show in the flashing program . Any help appreciated

THIS RELIES ON ADB COMMANDS, SO IF YOU DO NOT HAVE USB DEBUGGING TURNED ON, OR A CUSTOM RECOVERY TO BOOT TO, THEN IT WILL NOT BE AS SIMPLE AS JUST RUNING THE PROGRAM.
Another user was having issues because he had an emulator installed, so I updated the file to give you the choice between an emulator, or device. I intend to update further to allow you to check for and select an individual device, that will come soon..

Recently my Galaxy s2's screen smashed, and, after replacing it with a GS4, i realized that many of my pictures were stuck on the internal sd card of the GS2. Being unable to turn on mass storage mode, I made a very simple tool that makes using adb pull a simple, painless process, even for the most computer illiterate of android users. Hope this helps if anyone needs it.
For anyone having issues...
If you had not previously activated USB Debugging, there are several steps you need to follow in order to enable ADB
SCREEN WORKING TOUCH BROKEN NO CUSTOM RECOVERYfirst, if you can see your screen, and have access to an otg cable, plug a mouse in to the otg cable, and the otg cable into the phone. Use the mouse to enable USB debugging, or to transfer files.
HOW TO ENABLE USB DEBUGGING
SCREEN WORKING TOUCH BROKEN WITH CUSTOM RECOVERYboot to your custom recovery ADB commands will work here. (usually hold vol- + pwr)
HOW TO BOOT TO RECOVERY
Once in custom recovery, connect the device to the PC.
open CMD and enter the following commands;
cd c:\android (this is your ADB path, c:\android is default)
adb devices
The result should be something like
List of devices attached
051a4dd5 recovery
^^this number will be different for you
if you get a result on ADB devices, then you can use the program

2. Power your device off and reboot your device to FASTBOOT or DOWNLOAD MODE depending on which type of device you have.
(most devices are fastboot, SAMSUNG typically uses DOWNLOAD MODE)

to check if your device is in fastboot and connected use CMD and enter the following commands;

Hi! Can I use that to restore data not from sdcard but from internal memory of the device? I was storing photos on device memory on my Asus TF300T and now its bricked. I need to restore these photos, my girlfriend has something like 1000 of them from her trip to Caracas. Its very important for her. I already managed to connect the device through fastboot and I launched anb in cmd. What should I do next? Please help me guys

Yes, when it references SD Card it means the internal "SD" storage built in to the phone, not the removable one. It should work as long as ADB can connect.

Try this, i haven't gotten to test it, so please let me know if it worked for you, I added the option of selecting an emulator or USB device, because of your post. Hopefully it helps.
When I try to run this I also get an error message saying that the adb.exe file cannot be found.

I'm also having an issue - I have installed java, java SDK and ADB, so I can now run the data recovery tool. But when I do I'm getting "error:device not found" - am I missing drivers or something? I couldn't get all the way on the ADB configuration, because part of it required me to do something on the device... anyway, looks like the computer isn't recognising the the phone at the moment.
Any help very gratefully received (phone is Samsung Galaxy S2).

I have the same situation right now. Managed to make your program work then I get the "error:device not found". My phone does show up in the computer folder(albeit not in mass storage mode), but isn't that what this program was made to work around?
My phone is a LG Optimus G with a smashed glass... The LCD still displays fine, but I'm stuck at my swipe lock because the digitizer is dead.

Thanks for this app. My girlfriend broke her screen and digitizer on her Galaxy S4. She never turned USB Debugging mode and has a lock on her screen. When using your app I get the same error when I use adb by itself which is "error: closed". ADB detects my phone but any command I use in ADB or with your app I get that same error.

Getting an error "The system cannot find the path specified."
I start the recovery tool, set eh adb path successfully, and then I get this error. If I try running the recovery to pull the DCIM library I get this:
"error: device not found"
What can I do?

I have a tablet I can depure via USB and where I can root the tablet. But if I connect to the internet, the "registration and password" of university program enters and is saved (even after formatting it is stuck on this screen) blocking the tablet, I believe that after the internet loads, it installs this locking program ... What would be the name of this type of application? I'd like to know, how remove this app, to If connect in internet, we can block (and try install TWRP via internet with TWRP Management)...

I've been trying to resolve this issue for weeks. I have a tablet that I can't unlock (it's super hard, it's like Dark Souls of tablets). Well let's start.
He has a program that blocks asking for password and user (this a old from a university), where you request access via wireless or 2G/3G. without it you can't access it, so I believe I have to change his firmware instaled in, but I'm having a hard time to make it.
• Let's go to basic product information:
The chip is a RK3066 (same from TV BOX based on rockchip).
The model is YPY L1050 from POSITIVO (it's from Brazil).
- Software and Items
I have the drivers installed (correctly);
I have adb installed;
I have SD_Card;
I have acess from PC;
The tablet is unroot;
• Back to the items:
So, the good news is that I have the same tablet model, unlocked (with another type of ROM that I am unaware of). That works normally, without problems. Well, I saw a procedure that basically it is possible to extract this image from the good tablet, to the locked tablet. I did that, I ended up extracting a series of .img files from the unlocked tablet: boot, cache, kernel, system, etc... ok.
• Trying a extract from unlock same tablet:
I try transfer the copied files from "good unlock tablet" (extrated with AndroidTool), and put in (with the same tool) in the lock tablet... There is a problem, even before starting the operation, I have the error "Test Device Fail ", in the last is not possible to transfer files via USB (I can only do commands like" ResetDevice ", or export the images from the blocked tablet via AndroidTool... and yes I have the drivers instaled, commands like adb sideloader in the fastboot works).
• Trying a firmware found in internet:
Well, I tryed to download the firmware found on the internet corresponding to the device model, but unfortunately I have the same error as above. I download the .img firware original and using the RKBatchTool and have the same error (the operation don't start, give "Test Device Fail" in "Upgrade" and "Restore").
I believe that both operations do not accept transferring via USB.
PS: The tablet unlocked the command of "TestDevice" works fine.
• What I was thinking of doing:
1 - I think I need to take the all .img(s) files extracted from the unlocked device, put it in a single image (.img), put it in a SD_Card and in the "fastboot" take the option "update rkimage from external storage". But I don't know how to do this. (I try search for it);
2 - Somehow being able to do "apply update from external storage", maybe doing the same procedure above with an "update.img", but I also don't know how to do that (put all img. files together in the form of a one update.img).
3 - Have anothers options, like "apply update from ADB", the PC response this conection with tablet, (I can see the device with ''adb device'' cmds in sideload mode in PC). The problem is that I don't know how I'm going to send the .img file, if I send it inside a .zip (I even tried that, send all the .img files inside a .zip to see if it works. The tablet arrives to read the files but in the end the operation aborts). So my knowledge is lacking in this part.
4 - Another would be such a "ROM Dump." I'd like to do a "ROM dump" with an SD card, I even researched it on the internet but I didn't find this procedure to rockchip (only for Amlogic).
With SD Card:
There was a youtube that managed to unlock a tablet like that, but it was a previous model that I'd like to unlock (and different version of firmware, android etc). His method was to put a bootable sd_card, but he doesn't explain how he does it (he only gives the file done) and looking at the files internally, I just think they were converted to linux formats (system.tar.gz, userdata.tar.gz, some .sh .so files, and a bootenv.img, uImage etc) and with completely different names from .img... It is a pity that it is not for my Tablet model .
Well, that's it in the end, I need to change the firmware and I don't know how to do it.
PS: I tried other operations/methods as well, but I will not comment so that this post doesn't get big.

Instead of trying to package the .img files into one file, you should try flashing each .img individually via fastboot using commands with the following structure:
fastboot flash <name of partition> <name of partition.img>
The following commands are examples.
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash cache cache.img
fastboot flash kernel kernel.img
You will need to use a separate command for each individual .img.

Hi, thanks for the reply. Well I can make it via adb sideload? I can't use the command "adb reboot fastboot". Because this command "adb reboot fastboot" only turns off the tablet don't restarting into fastboot/download mode (just turns off). But If I manually enter on the bootloader, I can access the adb sideload option, where the adb install on computer can detects the device via the "adb devices command" with sideload.

It isn't going to work via adb unless the device is rooted and then it won't be via adb sideload, it would be done by using dd commands to dd the .img files directly to their partitions.

I just found a solution. It requires some tinkering, though.
I had to use a machine running windows 7, because that's the only OS that the drivers worked.
Download the firmware for the Ypy L1050F here: https://www.stockrom.net/2018/07/l1050.html
It comes with the drivers, the ROM, and a tool called RKBatchtool 1.8
You'll have to decompress everything, open RKBatchtool and choose the firmware that is in the ROM folder (Not the DEMO one).
Now comes the tricky part: You gotta undo the 3 screws aroud the tablet, then pry it open with your fingers(remember to remove microSD and SIM first, to avoid breaking stuff!). I recommend startind by the side with the usb, hdmi and power ports to get some leverage. The back cover should pop right off. Then you have to locate the NAND chip in it. Should be a Micron one with 48 pins. The small circle at one of the corners of the chip represents pin 1. Plug your usb cable to the tablet. With the tablet TURNED OFF, use a SIM removal tool or very fine tip metallic screwdriver to short pins 17 and 18 on the NAND chip and plug the power jack into the tablet. RKBatchtool should show that a device was connected. You can release the screwdriver now and just click the "Upgrade" button in RKBatchtool. I think I've already explain everything in title.
My Galaxy S5 on Android 8 (I think) as her screen broken (black)
Before that it already wokr badly and slowly. I bought a new phone but this one break just before I can transfer data.
I can unlock the patern (I know that because the volume + buton react)
Smart switch say that the phone is locked (even it's not true). Tested on 2 PC
The phone appear in Windows but no file or folder appear.
In adb the device is shown unauthorised and even if I click where the message to unlock should be, notihng append.
The phone is connected on Wifi, apparear in Google Find it but not Samsung find it...
I think that it's already to much information...
My question : how can I do the unlock the phone and do a smart switch backup ? or an other way to transfer data.

The Samsung Galaxy S10 comes with a USB OTG adapter. OTG stands for "On the Go" and is used for the connection between smartphone and USB stick / cable. Connect this USB OTG adapter to the USB Type C port of your Samsung, then connect the USB OTG adapter with USB Type C port of your computer.
You should see the data stored on your Samsung.

It's an S5. But I have a OTG adaptor for it but my new phone A52s doesn't connect to the S5.
I try with a S7 but I can see that there is a lot autorisation to give on the old phone which will be very hard to do with a black screen.
If ADB is unauthorized, the only way to back up any data would be via a custom recovery. That would require that the device have an unlocked bootloader though

ADB authorised is not require for Smart Switch... I think
And my device have access to recovery and it's root so the bootloader is unlocked.

So then flash a custom recovery, and then enter it. That will either give you MTP access to the files and folders, or ADB should also be enabled - and does not require authorization

purehaps you have forget that the screen is broken. I can't access the phone for complicated manipulation. I'have already have TWRP installed on it but without a view it's impossible to manipulate it. Also, it's not normal that the phone are not viewed on windows or is shown locked on smart switch.
In recovery mode, the phone isn't show on windows also. Find the MTP option in TWRP without a screen view is very diffucult and dangerous, (the wipe option are near)
If I can access file on phone I will be able to view screenshot and configure it.

1. No, I didn't forget that the screen is broken
2. I wasn't telling you to press anything in TWRP. When it's in TWRP and you plug it in, you will either get MTP and/or ADB access automatically
3. Yes, it is perfectly normal to not have access to the files and folders in Windows, when it's powered on normally. There's a popup on the phone that you have to tap in order to grant permission to the folders and files. That's why it shows up as an empty device when you plug it in while in normal mode

Ok excuse me.
Hum when I'm in recovery mode, my phone doesn't appear in Widows. And in adb, I haven't access to all folder. Data is empty for exemple.
For 3. Ok, I don't remember this notification. But I'm shure that I'have already use this phone with my PC. If I wasn't able to ring it on Whastapp, I will think that the phone doesn't works anymore at all. But it's not the case.

ADB commands work by default while in TWRP, you can back up almost anything that your TWRP version allows through your PC using ADB commands, TWRP will serve as intermediary, but you will not go to operate over your broken screen device but through your ADB/fastboot CMD.
In normal mode I can unlock the phone but after that even if I click where the message should appear it doesn't do anything.
In adb I can't access a backup command (and if I can do this, It will not the easyer way to transfer my sms.)
I have some old other phones to see some message exemple and know where to clic but it doesn't works. I have install Vyzor, It asks me a permission but even if I tap in the right of the screen the permission doesn't works.
I also try to transfert a new adb key but I think it doesn't work because Wyzor still ask permission.

There is no backup command in ADB that you can use. And the reason that you can't access /data is because that requires going into TWRP settings and mounting the system partition.
What you can do in TWRP is to adb pull all of the files and folders off of the internal storage
Other thing, I can phone my phone with Whatsapp but I can't click to hang off.

ADB backup is not to operate while your device is on, but it is to operate while your device is in TWRP mode.
TWRP has integrated by default the ADB options not need to authorize through your broken screen because it is already authorized.
Messages as an app user (the same with root or system user) is part of userdata, you want to back up userdata to restore it after in other device or a scenery where your device get repaired, no?
I'll give you an example, you have to use this command, create a folder on a convenient place onto your PC directory, something like "BACKUP", assuming that you set it up correctly the environment for ADB/fastboot to use it along all of your system, you should open from this newly created folder an CMD (I use the new Windows terminal for easy/comfortable results) then type from the terminal adb shell twrp backup userdata , you'll have the userdata backed up in your PC in less of 2 minutes depending on the size of the partition, and so on successively.
What you can back up from TWRP depends on the restrictions from your TWRP version, you should back up the normal that you can see from the TWRP screen and even more but for example if your TWRP have some issues mounting vendor partition of course the ADB commands can't do the job for this specific partition, but anyway you have a lot you can do through it.

1. The command depends on what the mount point for your internal storage is. The command would be "adb pull /(mount point)" , so it could be:
adb pull /sdcard
adb pull /storage0/sdcard
Or several others

I'm not sure I understand your command. But it return a result. "Backup" is the name of a folder ? or it's a commande for twrp ?
Is there a way to be sure that twrp is installed (with all my phone, sometime, I don't remember what is on it. The thing it's sure it that this phone is root because I use root function with some app but perhaps just with magisk or Super SU.
