Need to downgrade to MM from N to T-Mobile Unlock - T-Mobile LG G5 Questions & Answers

To tmb unlock with my octoplus dongle I need to be on MM rooted.
I am currently on H83020a rooted with twrp.
How do I roll back?
Thanks.

I don't think you can. I paid 35$ on ebay to unlock mine and the guy used octoplus. I was on H83020a rooted.

both lgup and octoplus fail writing H83010d tot that has same arb as the h83020a
If i was to get a twrp flashable H83010d zip with same anti-rollback number as H83020a would I be successful?

Lg G5 Boot loop HELP

So yes I can't remember if I had unlocked it or not. Right now I am stuck in bootloop with red small txt i can't even read. Guessing its boot failure. I tried doing what ppl have said by downloading a full tot but LGup keeps telling me anti rollback ver is smaller than the device version. I am stuck and need help plz.
Im in the same boat as you bro
Any luck?
Same thing happened to me.
You have to unlock the bootloader before flashing the tot file.
I rolled back to orig firmware using kdz file from lg, unlocked bootloader then followed rooting instructions.
All rooted now.

Hey bro,
You don't need any DLL file.
To flash it you simply have to use same LGUP version used for LG G5 and follow same steps like you flash for KDZ files.
Just tried and it works perfectly
Also, LGUP can take dz file for upgrade (data stays intact).
is it possible to insert SuperSu directly into the restore file to have a pre rooted stock rom, while we wait for TWRP??

That's what @tungkick did.
He made prerooted .tot for G5 and .dz for G Pad X 8.0
Both are T-Mobile version with unlocked bootloader with missing fastboot commands.

Actually, locked bootloader does not matter anymore.
You have to do reverse engineering with hex editor to retrieve keys in order to bypass the bootloader. This is how Samsung Tab A6 can be rooted and TWRP installed even the bootloader is tight locked (and you have to patch the kernel to change SE Linux policy).

It would be great to bring all our computers together to crack the code like mining bit coins. How neat would that be.
Are you guys optimistic for root on the V20? Or will it be a similar story to that of the Note 7 with 99.9% stable root?
Thanks for your efforts.

T-Mobile LGV20 H91810k KDZ

have at it folks... grabbed from LG Bridge and updated from it as well... https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B6Wj13Rw1kw-U1JCZlhhWE9ULVk
EDIT: you will lose root and TWRP if you flash this, as this brings you back to stock. if you want root, downgrade to 10j, root, install TWRP, then flash 10k which can be found here https://forum.xda-developers.com/v20/how-to/h918-twrp-flashable-stock-firmwares-t3619671

no... flashing this KDZ, which was provided straight from the source, will bring your device to complete stock and lose root. I'm uploading a flashable zip of this release that should RETAIN root provided you have root and TWRP now.

you need to downgrade to 10j to be able to root/install TWRP. after that, flash the 10k package found here https://forum.xda-developers.com/v20/how-to/h918-twrp-flashable-stock-firmwares-t3619671
Can I use LGUp...?
Good day,
First, let me say THANKS for an amazing effort! I've been successful in rooting by installing the H91810j image and performing the dirtycow exploit.
Now, I'm wondering if I can update to H91810k, and still preserve root access, by using LGUp to install the modified 10k image you posted...?
Let me know... Thanks!
Ok I got a V20 today and it came out if the box with 10K is it possible to root possibly through downgrading in lgup or am I going to have to not update and wait for a root for 10k I'm on T-Mobile variant
Drop to 10j...

As far as I've been able to find out (since I was in the same boat), 10k has not been successfully 'rooted' as yet. You'll need to load H91810j and use the dirtycow exploits to enable root.
Once that's done, THEN you can install the modified version of H91810k mentioned earlier in this thread. Be sure it's the modded version, if you expect to keep root access.

Thanks for the info how would I go about loading 10j, is it possible to downgrade to 10j for instance and if so how would I do that I've read up on dirty cow it seems difficult but it's not my first time rooting with adb and fastboot

Can this kdz be used on an h910 as well? I understand the hardware is the same, but I would rather not brick the device.

I believe all you need to do is boot into fastboot thru ADB and type fastboot oem lock. I may be wrong on the typing part. But that's the general idea. Find out what command unlocks and just do the opposite and type lock instead.

How do I rollback to 10J MM? I am on 20a rooted and twrped BL-unlocked ..

Thought I'd ask again after month or so.
I am on 20a , TWRPED, rooted , BL -unlocked.
How do I properly downgrade to 10j MM? It has the same 01 rollback version so it should be doable right?
Thanks

Rebranding fall back

So i want to try to rebrand my phone from european version to indian/chinese variant and i want to know 2things
1:What can i do if i screw up like if something goes wrong
2:what tool can i useto rebrand with the least chance of bricking my phone

Yes i have it unlockedandhave the code backedup
first update phone with emui 5 android 7.0 and unlock bootloader and rebrand through twrp anf finally flash your fimware with HuRUpdater
Is there some fall back tool that can help me if i screw up
Yes you can recover your honor if softbrick, don't worry
HuRUpdater takes care of pretty much everything here. It's able to reflash a full stock OS even if everything in the phone is f***ed up except if you can't access recovery (or recovery_ramdisk).
what file do i need besides hurupdayet(i know hurupdater its my fix tool)

Yes you can, i rebranded my 6X from European to India variant with HwOTA but you can even use HuRUpdater. You need BLN-L22HNC675B510 files for India version (look OP here for Oreo India files https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-6x/how-to/update-bln-l22c675-emui-5-x-x-to-emui-8-t3819317) and BLN-L21C432B3xx for Europe, but once updated to Oreo it's completely useless and a waste of time to get back Nougat, plus you'd need not only to rebrand but to downgrade, so it's a different process. Errors could happen.

Don't think so dude, because the OEM info you'd backup would aim to a different build and overall, a different version of Android. I won't try on my own, if i were in you.

Just flash the three files twice. Usually one time is enough, but in case of debranding a double flash allows to get a fully configured system.

No man! You need to look in that site by typing "BLN-L22HNC675CUSTC675D1B510" (8.0.0.510), so look for this build number and grab the three zips. Then you can start flashing. This is the best build to start from, when you flash a ROM/GSI. Trust me (no problem for the help, let me know if you manage to update!)
