Hi,
I have a problem using Sygic with tts. When I use Sygic standard voice the hu is pausing the radio or music player. But when I switch to Google tts in Sygic sound settings the music wont stop and it‘s not possible to understand the tts voice.
Sygic is set as my navi app in system settings.
This is a known issue. The unit regulates voice volume with navigation app. Sygic is assigned as navigation app so the voice works well. Google tts engine is not navigation app so it does not work even though it is used in sygic.
There is a trick that I used to have. Assign Google tts as navigation app and it will work with sygic, but I you will loss the navigation key on the unit. To get the key back you can use mtcd-tools to assign sygic to the navigation key.

I tried to assign TTS as navigation app, but it doesn't work :-/
i solved this by turning the bluetooth volume up to 20 in the factory settings for some reason this made the tts volume louder i have a GS xtrons unit. This also worked for my co-pilot app, and google maps, as i had an issue with them all being too quiet.
I used to have this issue until I went into the navigation settings on the HU and choose to mix navigation audio instead of pause.

no, it doesn't solve my issue. the play store says that the google tts is already installed, so i'm unable to install it.
Have you followed all the steps and selected Google TTS as your optional TTS package in your language and input settings in the headunit settings, instead of Pico TTS, it won't work unless you change it all in there.
Yes google TTS is correctly selected. i don't have any other TTS systems available.
the only other thing i can suggest is to uninstall co-pilot and delete all the copilot folders that are left in android folder, then do a fresh install of it, sorry i cannot help any further it should be fine. i'm stumped.

Can someone help. I try change my navi button on head unit to Google tts but it doesn't appear in the list.
Replied to 4 year old post.
I know but it's the exact issue I have.

I've searched here, google, etc... and the solution still escapes me
How in the world do I launch Google voice search (rather than S Voice) via bluetooth when the phone is locked? This is for bluetooth dialing and navigating (push and hold BT headset call button, say "CALL ......" or "NAVIGATE TO ......."
I don't want to flash a new ROM for this, but I'm willing to consider it IF:
- Above function works
- GPS locks are just as fast as stock
- Stability is top notch
- Battery life is as good or better than stock
- UI must be smooth
Stock ROM is great!!! I'd hate to deviate, but I hate even more not being able to use the BT dialing (S Voice SUCKS and rarely works!!!)
I have to have my phone locked (exchange server rules for my employer email)... it's a good policy anyway.
I am currently Stock Rooted, bootloader locked (I can unlock if necessary)
I've seen suggestions to use the Bluetotth launcher app, which works, but not when phone is locked.
The stock ICS has this feature. I hate the Samsung forced S Voice without giving us the alternative to go back to the google apps (which is MUCH better).
I have no clue. How about random ideas?
Try clearing defaults for S Voice and Google Search in the App Manager
Check the settings in both apps (I'm fairly sure I saw an option regarding launching S Voice from the Home button in it's settings)
Try disabling/uninstalling S Voice

I've frozen S Voice with Titanium Backup. All that did was completely remove any ability for voice dialing through bluetooth.
The settings you refered to is a good suggestion, but only disables the home button (pressing it twice) from launching S Voice
Google Voice Search has no usable settings and I'm unable to use it as a default rather than S Voice
Have you tried to disable S voice from the applications settings menu? Certain launchers will allow to to assign actions to buttons. Not sure if BT is included.
And don't call me Shirley.

Freezing in titanium is the same as disabling in the applications menu.
I feel like i read somewhere that synergyROM had this feature of google now replacing s-voice when you froze it. Ill try to find what im talking about for you. Thats the only solution i can think of.

Ok guys so the question has been asked a couple of times on XDA and there is still no viable solution. Maybe a Nexus section would be better to post and work on this.
I'm wondering if there is a solution or workaround to disable the built-in Google Voice Dialer that is launched from the lock screen when pressing the action button on a bluetooth.
When the phone is unlocked the action button on the Bluetooth typically launches Google Now, which is perfect. BUT I want to be able to Launch Google Now from the lock-screen using the Bluetooth action button, and NOT the crappy Google Voice Dialer.
The closest thing I've seen that allows this to be done so far is: Bluetooth Launch.apk from the PlayStore.
BUT this app has one major flaw.. when the headset button action is changed to com.google.android.googlequicksearchbox.VoiceSearchActivity, which is what is required to launch Google Now, the phone never sleeps/locks.
If this action>assign could be written and still allow the phone to sleep and lock, it would be ideal.
I was hoping that there would be an Xposed module to disable to Google Voice Dialer, but this has not been created as of yet.
Any help would be much appreciated and thanks will be given.
Get rom toolbox pro and take it out or freeze it. Simples
Ten min cutoff app.
Hi. Just bought a new unlocked HTC U11 and am very pleased with it but I can't find Google Assistant. I've tried long pressing on the Home button but no luck. My Android version is 7.1.1 Software number is 1.13.401.1 and Play services is 11.0.55.
Am I doing something wrong (very possible!)?
Thanks in advance.
Hold down home button(fingerprint scanner), tap left bottom Google Icon, then menu top left(3 bars), then Settings, Click Enable Google Assistant.
Thanks for swift reply.
No sign of the enable Google Assistant I'm afraid.
Any thoughts?
What shows up when you hold fingerprint down?
Nothing like that I'm afraid
Just the old Google screen with the search box at the top and the box with Reminders, Events etc below
Is your Google play services up to date? I had assistant configuration as part of out of the box set-up.
Sent from my HTC U11 using Tapatalk
Deleted updates and then updated Play services and still nothing, it certainly is a mystery.
Switched my phone to English and deleted Google App data, once I pressed home button for few seconds Google Assistant setup showed..
You can try that.
Thanks for your reply, but I'm afraid still no luck.

What's the language of your phone?
What version of Google App?
I had to change my phone language and Google App language to English (US) as default, clear Google App data to have google assistant enabled.
I have the same issue (all latest firmware & software updates).
Have you tried the above solutions?
Can you go to App Drawer click Google App, 3 Bars at top Left, Then Settings. The top should be Google Assistant, subcategories under it are Settings and What can you do?
As people have stated change your language to English and then go to Settings/Apps and then to each of the Goggle Apps and clear cache. Google, Google Play Services. Then resync all.
Changing to English (US) has worked! Thanks to everyone for their help.
Are you guys able to get OK Google voice detection works? Is U11 able to wake up to these words even screen is off /locked/ screen on and unlocked? Even added to Trusted voice. I dont seems to get it work in English (US). Other then press and hold Google Assistant is working.
Possible solution to hands-free Google wakeword on U11
Setting up an HTC U11 for dual VA
1. Long press on the fingerprint reader to bring up Google Assistant.
2. Touch the drawer icon in the upper right.
3. Touch the 3 dots in the upper right.
4. Select Settings
5. Touch Phone under Devices
6. Touch ‘OK Google Detection’
7. Enable “Say OK Google any time”
Finish by saying "OK Google 3x. Now Google Assistant launches hands-free even when the screen is off.

I've not had much luck searching for others that have this issue, but I may be using the wrong key words.
When I open google Maps I can scan across the map and zoom in/out. But I can't click on any of the tool bars or menus. I can't search for any locations because the app doesn't act like I touch any of it search fields. I've "uninstalled" and updated the app and it works for a very short period. I can use Google Maps through my browser and it works flawlessly.
Actually, just playing with it just now. The app works fine as long as my location services are turned on. As soon as I turn them off all the menus stop working.
Hello All.
I'm driving myself nuts on this and don't know what else to try..
I have switched the default assistant to google instead of bixby.
The HOME Button works great, Voice Activation also works ok with phone unlocked. But the "thing" that is killing all my both neurons is when I'm using earpices.
When using earpieces ( assistant compatible earpieces JBL Reflection Flow) and I use the assistant activation key, it always calls Bixby and not GA..
I have tried multiple bixy button remaper apps without success.
Is there any real solution for this ?

If you're not using Bixby for anything else you could always disable it.

It seems that it is not possible to deactivate-it.
anyway I did found a solution for it while trying to deactivate Bixby.
1- Open Settings -> Apps
2-Locate Bixy Voice Application
3-scroll down and open "Application Settings->Preset"
4- Reset all presets for this application.
5- Tap twice your earpice and a "Open With" options selections wil allow you to choose between bixby ( again) and Google!

A package disabler or by ADB (maybe) will kill the horrible Bixby apks (there's a couple).
Otherwise they run in the background.
Considering the EULAs for both these apps I will never allow them to be activated on my devices.
