Hello, Houston i have a problem,
before installing android 8 I used the fingerprint and it worked perfectly even after I installed perfectly without any errors Android 8 has performed as well but 2 days ago I gave a factory reset and receive the message "Attention" Make Sure the Home key is clean and dry, then try again.
I mentioned that I tried to give factory reset from the combination of the 3 buttons
* but to:
Wipe data / factory reset - works fine
Wipe chache partiton: E: Failed to clear BCB Message: failed / misc partition.
Ayone else have this problem? or if anyone knows any resolution

Try doing a factory reset or flash the system again through odin.

I make a downgrade android 7 and still fingerprint error is the same
I have a similar error after downgrade from 8 to 7. I can't set a lock because settings app crash.
I did a fingerprint test using combination and works perfect so i upgrade again to 8 Oreo and fingerprint doesn't work.
Any suggestion?

I am also recieving the exact same issue however its there when recovery is started, having said that though my finger print sensor is working perfectly still and i have no app crashes in the settings, the only thing i can put it Down to is the new firmware may be partitioned slightly different as i did notice it took a very long tine to flash the oreo frinware compared to all other firmwares i have flashed,
This is the first update for oreo so is bound to be buggy as its in the beta stages of testing the next OTA update brought out will more than likely combat the issue id say its just a bug.

So.. it all started with google services framework.

It kept crashing every 30 seconds. I tried to clean cache, clean data, force stop, reboot phone, remove google account in "Accounts & Sync", everything you can find on the internet (except for an actual solution, which i still didn't find). I thought re-installing it would help. I found an apk for Android 2.3.4, and installed it. I rebooted the phone. I had the same problem with play store a couple of months earlier, and I thought it would be the same.
Android didn't boot after that. Tried removing battery, rebooting phone, nothing. Had to do a factory reset. Once the phone booted (after factory reset) i got to the part where I get a green android with a message "Touch the android to begin"
I tried factory reset a couple of times, with and without sd and sim cards, no luck. Tried tapping the corners, but nothing. Found some other **** online, same result.
Why did you try to install an OS using an apk? It sounds like what you should have done was reflashed GAPPS which should have overridden the framework you were having a problem with and solved the problem. If your phone is not rooted, the only way you can fix it is to boot into recovery and reset from there. If you do have a rooted phone, it'll probably be easier to go into CWM and reflash your ROM.

Sent from my Canvas 2 using xda premium
So my friend gave me his Tab 2 7.0(P3100) for me to check out since it has problems to see if I can fix it.
And I checked it out and here are the problems:
The tablet constantly crashes. TouchWiz ran for a few seconds(Very laggy) before it reboots and it repeats again.
You may though factory reset would do the job.
However I tried to factory reset via the recovery. The recovery shows something unusual as seen below:
{

"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

}
So when I wipe data/factory reset, the recovery goes through the process as normal. But once it reboots, it does NOTHING AT ALL!
Then I reboot into safe mode and tried to factory reset in the settings. Once I went to backup and reset and tap the delete everything, nothing happens even after I tap the delete everything multiple times.
Oh, the thing also crashed in safe mode. It ran longer than the normal mode though.
I was unable to factory reset the thing.
However there is another weird problem. When I set a setting like connecting to a wifi network, uninstalling an app and changing brightness, after it reboots, all the settings I applied are reverted. So the wifi network is forgotten, the app I uninstalled is back and the brightness was set back to what it used to be.
I worked with multiple devices in the past and I've never seen anything like this.
Have anyone encountered a problem like this. And please give any solutions if you do.
I do have a feeling the problem is not normal but you can help out.
I need to return the tablet the next day after posting this thread so any help is appreciated.
Thanks for your time.
UPDATE
I tried reflashing the firmware using ODIN and this happened
And you thought when it fails halfway especially when the system.img is flashing would brick the thing.
It doesn't. The tablet still reboots and same thing happens over and over again....
I tried flashing the same thing again but still the same results.
Probably eMMC was set to read-only memory.

it's really weird, I've succesfully flashed 920F (International) without any problem multiple times. I can flash stock rom so it's not hardware's fault. Am i missing some simple newbie step?

my device is sm920A . it is at&t . i cannot find oem unlocker
Possible Solution to Odin "failed" messaged whilst flashing
Warm greetings to all.
I have previously encountered this problem before, ive tried clearing the cache and formatting with still no luck
Eventually I wanted to try something, I loaded my software I wanted to flash on a USB.
I then used an OTG adapter to connect the usb to my phone. I then booted into the recovery ( I have TWRP) and chose install from external storage. To my surprise it worked.
NOTE: I am not sure if this method will work on stock recoveries. Also if you have an external hard drive it works as well
Also note. My S6 is an international version i believe G925F
Wishing you all the best of luck if I was not able to help

did you enable developer settings?
Yes
I have been trying to update my phone for a while now but for some reason I am unable to, when I got the phone I followed this guide to convert it from CN to WW, and it worked well
But right now I am stuck at at version 18.1220.2109.126,
Every time I try to update to android 12 I am greeted with this
{

}
if anyone could help me with this I would be really grateful, no matter what version I use I am always getting the same message
Update incrementally up to the version you want to get to.

its not working man, i almost tried every firmware
Flash RAW firmware (use the script / binary WITHOUT a wipe), then update normally.
If all else fails, you can perform the update with fastboot. It won't fix the issue and will have to be done for every future update, though.
Bypass "System update failed" - Update w/ Fastboot
Update notifications appeared, the update was recognized, but it failed instantly. I have since resolved the error by flashing a raw firmware without a wipe. This post is for archival purposes or simply an alternative installation method...

I tried both, but every time I try to run a script, be it flash raw or the flash_all, I keep getting waiting for devices, even though my phone is connected to my pc(through the side port) and is in fastboot/bootloader.
After the last firmware update (May 24) Google Wallet payment stopped working.
The same problem someone else encountered based on this post: https://support.google.com/wallet/thread/217891750
Phone without root, bootloader is locked, only changed region a year ago, but I don't think that's the problem.
Does anyone else have similar problems with the stock firmware?
Spoiler: Play integrity check

You're missing the MEETS_DEVICE_INTEGRITY label, usually means that the firmware you're on does not have a CTS profile match. Hard to say why, the only thing I can suggest is reflash the factory firmware with a full data wipe.
The problem with the firmware for the SEK region, on 4pda about 15 people have already reported this problem
from this page: https://4pda.to/forum/index.php?showtopic=1043829&st=4080
I had same problem and i do think is SEK region firmware issue.. First go to Play Store and go to Settings and then About and there check is your device certified (mine was suddenly uncertified after last firmware update). So far i manage to fix it by deleting Google play data and cache and Google Play services cache, then you need to go to recovery (turn off device, connect to usb cable then press power and volume up button) and then in recovery you need to clear cache and then repair apps and reboot. As i said so far it works for me.
