yes offcourse you can run or rather flash a 32bit custom rom on a 64bit device. But not the other way around. For porting you need a flashable stock rom of your device and a custom rom you want to port but please note that the chipset needs to be exactly the same and so does the Android os

How ever I try to port, it always ends up with bootloop.
Any suggestions?:crying:
I suggest you not to try cross porting as it require some knowledge first. Instead try to port the same android version and mtk version. Google is your friend... and your bootloop issue might be due to boot.img try extracting and editing it first

No try nougat version only that is 7.0 to 7.0 or 7.1 to 7.1

Hello!
I wonder if there is a Android 7 (or even 8) ROM available for my Sony Xperia E3 D2203. It seems that the last "supported" ROM is Android 6
If there is any Android 7 ROM just let me know
Thanks

I'm trying to compile Lineage OS 14.1 (android 7.1.2) for our phone with 3.4.0 kernel. If I get it, I am about to upload the rom here.
Most of the sources are in SonyLOS repository (if you want to experiment)
By the time, seems that system can be compiled succesfully but not the kernel, which gets built into boot.img but phone fails to start.

Sounds promising. If you need help and if you have any guidance I could maybe support you. I'm also a software engineer but not an Android Kernel hacker. Maybe I can assist you if there are some good tutorials. Just let me know

No, I've LTE version (D2203) but perhaps porting some patches from eagle (which has the same processor) I can make it work, but first I need to compile a working rom for D2203.

Best of luck dude, I would be thankful if a ROM was developed soon..
can some of you guys help me with the test point of d2203
i hard bricked it and the only solution i might have is that!!
please/? or how to find the testpoint
I have a 2243, that works almost like 2203. It is a GSM with LTE. (I don't really know the difference between them ) If anyone want to use it as a laboratory, just tell me I already do this. I had flashed so may ROM's at my own risk.... One more won't make difference at all haha
I'm facing some problems with RAM (compilation stops at 40% becouse of the memory) so the rom may come later, when I can fix all the issues.

I thought so since Nokia hasn't released its source codes yet.
I'm looking at the specs of the note4 mtk, and I see that the chipset is Mediatek MT6797 Helio X20.
I'm not sure that would work with the nokia 3

Mi A1 has different partition scheme. The rom should work for Nokia and Mediatek.

Guys, I just got my hands on NK3(Nokia 3) today, hoping I will be able to do something for it soon.
AND regrading the quoted reply to link(guide) , I wrote that simple guide and it's not and never meant for porting Miui Roms.
FOR now, I have not tested the acclaimed Miui for NK3 , and as some says it's fake it might be true but to clear all doubts, someone should take the risk and try.
If I get free time too, I will try it personally to see.

first of all thanks for the guide. I want to clarify that I drew inspiration not only from yours, but also from this http://www.osbusters.net/2015/11/how-to-port-miui-7-rom-to-qualcomm-smartphones.html, which is designed for processors qualcomm but that is fine in general and is based on a comparison of fstab files of the boot.img through the meld software.

Please no matter what you do or can do, its not recommended to do use a number of peoples' device to test a project it your ain't certain.
in the previous replies, someone mentioned that you did same to Mi A1 which you got those devices bricked, please and please , its better you get a tester to test your stuffs for you than to push to publicc for all dudes to bricked thier device.
Remember, they used money to purchase the NK3.
Thanks.
Yeah completely hard bricked my phone I think, have to wait until I can be back with it to see if it is possible to unbrick it.
Seems like when I tried it earlier, it didn't even boot into the preloader....
Can anyone here see if https://forum.hovatek.com/thread-11836.html is possible?

i don't think that's 64bit OS, do you? that's a64, means the partition tipe, means chipset support 64bit but the software is 32bit. a64 doesn't mean 64bit version unless there's specific info says 64bit. 64bit would be arm64 or aonly in my experiences.
