Wifi range is good, but unfortunately the speed at even small distances drops dramatically when bluetooth is enabled and connected to a speaker etc. but at least not with a connected smartwatch. This phone does not support 5GHz wifi, otherwise that wouldn't be a problem!

It's amazing when it works and pretty bad when it bugs.
Sometimes when it's between two different routers, the reconnection gets crazy.

My only complaint with the 7X after 8 months of use is the inter-dependence of the WiFi and Bluetooth communications. Using either of my Bluetooth headphones causes a dramatic reduction in WiFi speed. Typically, using fast.com to measure, my home WiFi will go from 25 mbps down to 6 mpbs when listening via Bluetooth.
It's not a big enough problem for me to rush to switch to a different phone, but it makes me reluctant to upgrade to the 8X before I confirm that it improves this situation.
WiFi strength is pretty good. You'll notice some drops in speed here and there, but overall it's pretty good.

For wifi performance I'd rate my Mix as poor on both 2.4 and 5.8. Mine constantly disconnects from our NetComm router and falls back to 4g.
This happens wherever I am in the house including next to the router.
All my other Android devices stay connected nicely.

Since i have Y6C, i must reply. 2.4 very poor, sometimes unusable.
Poor wifi range. At 8 meters from the router and a couple of thin walls, the wifi reaches with around 1 MB, maybe less, from 300 MB. My Nubia Z11 mini S gets the FULL 300 MB signal in the very same spot.

Wifi strength is ok but the drawback is that it doesn't support 5GHz.
