Why not simply use Google Assistant instead then? It's in English and a lot smarter than Mi AI

Did you see Alexa Mate 9 new beta?

I found on the reddit , seems appeared some new beta with Alexa for American device, of V181.
I have Middle East Mate 9, but now I shall rebrand and try this because I have credits left. I never try Alexa before but before now it's never voice wakeup anything useful. This time maybe it's more useful.
They post like this and screenshots:
Anyway I will announce everyone about how is it! Very excited!

actually some of us do care
New firmware is always interesting from the POV of improvements and new features, though I fail to see the appeal of Alexa built in to the firmware... Google Assistant has been rolled out (and based on above, it sounds like it works better), and Alexa could be downloaded as a separate app anyway.
Looking forward to Alexa on the mate 9. I like Alexas voice so much better than siri or Google assistant/home.
"Okay Emy, open Alexa"
Oh dear Lord.

What is this GMS Beta Activity beta test?

I recently installed the Friendly User Test program on my Honor 8 (FRD-L09C432) and I saw an available beta test called GMS Beta Activity. The changelog is in Chinese so I will appreciate it if someone can translate the changelog to English.
What is it?

I don't trust Google Translate. It's pretty inaccurate if it comes to Far Eastern languages.

(Great News)Xiaomi offically supporting Gcam from 8.11.8 and above

So here is the good news guys Xiaomi has now realised that google has much more developer resources to built better camra apps and alogrithem and that is why it is being said they are offically adding Hal3 and API2 supports from8.11.8 this rom is in close beta now but that means in future updates we can see native gcam support...
Which in other term means just installing or side loading the gcam app will be sufficient for gcam to work...
Here is the source of the news
https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/11/...om-opens-doors-for-google-camera-app-support/
Good to know.
Please. Carefully read the news before posting such thread.
"The MIUI 10 update has extended support for HAL3/Camera2API which is required by Google Camera app to run on any Android device."
Is not :
"We will support native gcam app"
But more like :
"Porting gcam will be simpler"
Good information!!! but before posting some thread this should be on the XIOAMI POCO F1 GUIDES , NEWS , DISCUSSION. Thanks

whats the difference? you should read it with open eyes I guess.
Noob question: with this, will Gcam be able to make use of the second camera? Or simply Gcam isn't made with this purpose and only use the main camera (as pixel phones only have one)?
Poco Always had camera api2 enabled, no big news for us
Now we 'only' need 60fps video recording....

It means you can't install official gcam from playstore. If you install the official version, it won't work. But it will be easier for developer to make it work for Poco.
If it's really natively supported, then some features will be disabled. Do you really think google will give their cam tech freely? They want you to buy their phones. While the ported version will have the features enabled.
For poco it was available out of the box , they enabled cam2api for all xiaomi devices now :good: ✌

Huawei not supported by android (google)

Since the whole world knows about this, is there any hope for the existing Huawei users? a work around of some sort to get Google services?
Any help please !? I bought huawei honor 9i and i can't find google play store or none of the google services on the device..

General Codename change

Hello, I just saw that pixel 7 pro is not cheetah anymore, it's guépard :

guépard is cheetah in french. Page still shows cheetah for me - maybe you translated the page somehow?

Absolutely a Cheetah and a Guépard are the same animal. The first one is in English and the second one is in French, as @krakout wrote before
So the Google Pixel 7 Pro is always a Cheetah or a Guépard. No worries
Yep, you're both right, false alert, dumb OP

I can closed your OP, because it's useless now
just for fun.. keep it open...
If you say:
"cheeter" (CHEET-R)
instead of:
"cheetah" (CHEE-TAH)
You might be a redneck...
