any way to root mate 9 without unlocking the bootloader ??? - Huawei Mate 9 Questions & Answers

any way to root mate 9 without unlocking the bootloader ???
if its required, then how to unlock ???

Unlocking Bootloader is the first thing Huawei users need to perform before trying to root.
About a week ago, we could obtain a 16-digit bootloader unlock code from Huawei official website.
https://emui.huawei.com/en/plugin/unlock/index
But the official web page seems to be unavailable for maintenance recently.

It's for maintenance, it's for good. Huawei announced that they will no longer provide boatloader unlock to any of their devices. So, until there's a hack that can be done, no root is possible at all.

Interesting. The page to request an unlock code seems to exist (From emui.huawei.com, there is a link to UNLOCK in the main menu), which takes you to a login page. Unfortunately, when I attempt to register, the site asks for an unlock code that it then never sends. Has anyone had experience with this? I'm really interested in unlocking my device so that I can repair the widget error that afflicts EMUI 8.0.

Huawei has announced that it will no longer provide boatloader unlock method starting from the end of last month. I don't think the page is down for maintenance, it's down for good.

This is true, but if you have an older device, you can still get a bootloader unlock code until the end of the month (July 29). I just registered with Huawei yesterday and received a code.

Relocking the bootloader for warranty work?

Hello everyone. I just got I'm mate 9 and I'm totally psyched. Seems like it's one of the best phones out there currently. I know I will be spending a lot more time here from now on. Looking around and doing some searches, I found a few threads that sort of answered this question but I'm still not a hundred percent positive. I have a couple of questions as follows:
1) I know that the bootloader unlock process has to be officially done through Huawei. My first question is when I request an unlock code, is my warranty void after that? Do they have a list of people who have requested these unlock codes that would be denied warranty even if the bootloader is locked when and if the warranty service is requested?
2) if the bootloader is re locked, is there any way for Huawei to tell that it was ever unlocked thereby denying warranty coverage?
Thanks in advance and it's good to be part of the mate 9 pack on XDA.
Going through Huawei will certainly void your warranty as they will have record of you requesting the unlock code (it's sent via email after you provide your IMEI). There's an app on the playstore that can provide you the code (DC Huawei bootloader codes) that can unlock it without their knowledge and flashing an official ROM will relock your bootloader every time.

Thanks so much for that response. I was about to go through a Huawei but I think I will much rather use an app like this. It's a paid app right? And you have to use ADB to do the actual unlock.
The app is free but the service is not, I think it's 4-5 $. You'll need ADB to unlock, that is correct.

I don't really see how requesting the bootloader unlock code can be seen as a proof of actually unlocking it.
Per Huawei's unlock agreement you're forced to accept.
"Unlocking the bootloader may result in unpredictable consequences for your device, including but not limited to those listed above. The user shall be held responsible in the event that the device malfunctions and cannot be recovered. Huawei will record your unlock request information; for software and hardware failures arising as a result of unlocking the bootloader, Huawei repair centers can provide repair services charged at the standard rate for repair work outside the scope of the warranty."

Anyone working on unlocking bootloader without Huawei website?

I'm asking because there is a software called dc-unlocker that - allegedly - can unlock the bootloader of a lot of Huawei phones:
https://www.dc-unlocker.com/supported_models_1/huawei_phones
For the Honor 6X it says as a feature "read unlock codes".
Possibility 1: Huawei has a database of IMEI number -> random hardcoded unlock code. Because dc-unlocker has that feature of showing codes this is probably not what they are doing.
Possibility 2: The unlock code is generated based on the IMEI number (possibly other parameters are required)
Possibility 3: They don't actually generate unlock codes and just unlock it with some exploit.
Does anyone know how this works? I thought it may be possibility 2.
Has anyone collected IMEI numbers with fitting unlock codes?
Maybe if we had a few we could find a pattern.
i tried retrieveing my bootloader code from Huawei web site, it still work

Maybe I will have to do that, but it sucks. Imagine if you bought a PC mainboard and then had to register an account at the vendor's website to receive a code just to be able to boot another operating system than the preinstalled one. People would want to crack that instead...
If you dont want to pay for unlocking bootloader. Then request key throught hicare live chat it will take approximately 14days
I'm not one for swearing much, but **** you, Huawei: https://www.xda-developers.com/huawei-stop-providing-bootloader-unlock-codes/
That's why it's important that for the hardware you buy you have all the knowledge in the open, how to actually control the hardware. Like the algorithm that calculates the unlock code.
I tried dc unlocker – unfortunatly it freezes
As the dc-unlocker web site and the client program seem to claim they'd be able to provide unlock code for bootloader – I downloaded the client and bought 4 credits.
After switching USB Port Settings to "Manufacture Mode" - dc unlocker client detects phone as
Found Applications port COM3
Model : Huawei HiSilicon Kirin Android phone

Click to collapse
When I change "Select Model" from "Huawei HiSilicon Kirin Android phone" to "Huawei Honor 6X" and press the detect-button again – the program freezes.
Anything I chould do about this? Anyone successfuly unlocked the honor 6x via dc-unlocker? Any other possible solutions apart from hoping Huawei coming to sence and provide the codes again?

I think, maybe "when it still worked" was meant – probably there's no "enclave" country were huawei still provides unlock codes… :/
DC-Unlocker seems to only support model "BLN-AL10" – maybe we'll be lucky in upcoming version (will ask in their forum…).
Anyone tried the services of "ministry of solutions"? They claim to support unlocking a bunch (probably all) of honor 6x models…
Any other possibilities?
dc-unlocker does not seem to work with my honor 6x – but I got refund for my credits bought.
(-> question in dc-unlocker forum)
Thinking about "ministryofsolutions" huawei bootloader unlock paid service – they claim in chat, they'd be able to provide unlock code for my BLN-L21C432B378. I don't like the thought of sharing my USB-ports via flexihub and giving access via Teamviewer– but I think the risk is not that big, if I use a fresh Windows just for that and disconnect my google account on phone and delete all personal data…
Any other suggestions or experiences?
Paid the 4$ for "ministry of solutions" – worked.
Code:
# whoami
root
# echo "yey!"
Despite Huawei saying the new policy is about reducing warranty claims for stolen data or bricked phones, occam's razor says this is to enable Big Brother's back door and prevent truly effective from keeping the phones from "going dark."
The first thing a third-party ROM user is told is that flashing voids the manufacturer's warranty. This issue is about control and surveillance, and there surely is a way to crack the bootloader code - even if the last method is brute force...

How to unlock Huawei Y6s bootloader and then root?

I want to root my Huawei Y6s but I don't know how to unlock the bootloader. I want to root it using Magisk. If anyone can help, please.
You can no longer unlock the bootloader of Huawei phones as Huawei itself announced.
You need unlock key to successfully unlock your bootloader, you could have filed a request with your Huawei ID. But the due date is now long since over.
You may find some random guys with magic programs that can get Huawei unlock key, however I think they're all fake.
If you're still persistent on unlocking your phone then see this post here: (https://www.xda-developers.com/huawei-honor-unlock-bootloader-fee/)
As mentioned in the post tho, it is costly.
see article for more details about Huawei statement: (https://www.androidauthority.com/huawei-bootloader-unlocking-869169/)
Huawei has officially closed the bootloader unlocking process from 25th July 2018.
You can send unlock request to Huawei. You can told them you are developer and need to unlock it. You can get unlock code from imei number and you need to give sim company name.

In need of a root Huawei

Hello,
As my title states I need a Huawei device currently in the market that allows me to root it. I dont mind If I have to pay for unlocking the bootloader as long as the job can be done.
I already tried rooting a P10 using the short pin methoth to unlock its bootloader. While BL was unlocked I was not able to proceed with root due to its up-to-date security patch ( I guess). I have also a Y9 2019 and an Honor 8X which botloader unlock method was not existing (again, I guess).
What devices are you suggesting?
AFAIK Huawei already in 2018 has stopped permission of boot-loader unlocking.

Hi jwoegerbauer, thank for your reply.
Thats true but I have seen several work arounds. Maybe one specific model can be easier to unlock than others.

How to unlock bootloader on a honor 7a with or without the code

So I wanted to unlock and root my honor 7a so I can install a custom rom and make it like new.
The only problem with it is that Huawei (honor is a sub-brand of Huawei) since 2018 realesed a security patch where its not possible to unlock the bootloader and some companies offered the code for unlock the bootloader but you gotta pay it and they are expensive. I have tried in many ways to get the unlock code, but didn't work plus I got an encryption virus where I got the 89% of my disk encrypted with the .mmvb extension.
Is there a way where I can unlock it without the code or having the code for unlocking it?
I'm not too sure, but you could look into some open-source project, a quick sypher through GitHub brought me to this repository.

You could possibly look into it and see if it would be of any help, I'm not able to test due to not having a device myself

Well, the best, fastest and safe way to unlock it would be with those paid services. You could also try using Potanov. Way riskier, but you do get the unlock code for free.

But potanov is not meant for mediatek cpu
Download TWRP from the Russian forum. Tell me, please, do you have an unlocked bootloader?
