Carrier ID, CSC Problem - Samsung Galaxy S8+ Questions & Answers

Hello everyone
New here
I have a small problem today I bought a S8 + version in Switzerland because the price was about 15% cheaper than the FR version of my country and today I tried to change the configuration AUT (which corresponds has a unbranded Switzerland) to FTM (FranceTelecomMobile) To be able to benefit from VoWiFi and VoLTE. I flashed factory binary with the CSC FTM, in the IME dialer I was able to access the menu and install in full custom version FTM. The phone restarts the change has been taken into account so I flash my phone with other FTM files and when I go back in the download mod I notice that as in the attached photo the AUT version is still present which causes me to serious bug when I make calls (Bug that I do not have with the original AUT ROM)
I did several times the manipulation I also noticed that in the factory binary menu the FTM version remained well checked.
Detail noted, when it's factory binary and my CSC is flashed, When I'm in downloadmod the line CARRIER_ID disappears.
Other note: in the factory binary menu (with my chip sim) the grip was perfect for 20 minutes I observed 0 cuts. So my concern of cut appears well when the rom oreo is put.
My question is what to change so that it takes into account my change of rom and stops showing me CARRIER_ID: AUT. And especially not to have any DATA cuts every two minutes

[Q] Possible to change region completely in SM-G920i?

First of all, sorry if this has been answered here, I simply can't find a definitive answer for our S6, let me explain better.
As you may know, I'm not a newbie here or in other forums, I've rooted most of my phones (Not this one) and have installed custom roms dozens of times to all of them, BUT, I'm definitely a newbie about what I need here, I'm trying to see if I can change my SM-G920i region from XSA (Australia) to any other one, India in this case. I have read tons of threads and posts and that's what is confusing me, in some threads there are people saying that they did it and is working great, in that same threads there are people saying that they did it but Knox got tripped, there are others that say that the device is soft bricked and others are saying that they have read somewhere that changing the CSC from it's original one may brake future Samsung pay.
So, this phone is paid by my office, they allow me to do what I want to it while I'm able to just put it back as it came from factory, so that means that I can root it if it doesn't trip Knox, that I can install anything while I can simply go back anytime they need me to, and obviously, Samsung pay works when it finally comes. With this in mind, can somebody answer me a couple of questions?
1-) I know it's possible to do it, but is it true that by doing this I'll have Samsung pay issues? I doubt that knox will be tripped if I do it with odin, but besides knox, is there any possibility that Samsung Pay will not work in certain regions (India in this case) and that's why some are saying that it will break it?
2-) If I download the firmware and flash it via Odin, I'm reading that it won't brick the phone is done via Odin, but in worst case scenario I assume that I can always go back to original one and it gets factory reset, am I right?
3-) If I flash it correctly as I expect an it doesn't brick, does this means that it will change PDA and CSC versions all together, that it will basically become a device from the new flashed region? So if I flash the India one to my XSA (Australia) now it will work completely as an India device and should get future OTA like the rest?
Again, sorry if this has been asked and answered but going back a lot of pages here can't give me definitive answer, thanks in advance for those of you kind enough to answer to this.
Flash a G920i ROM via odin other than your own region/country:

Thanks.
In another thread that I have posted (Brazilian one) I was replied to, so because of that I decided to do it, so far everything is working great as expected. Mine was an Australian baseband (XSA), only thing you I noticed is that when I connect it to Smart Switch app for PC or MAC it will still detects the Original CSC, I was curious about it and installed Phone info apk and it shows correctly the information, both PDA and CSC are now from India but it shows that the Original CSC was XSA (In my case), Firmware's CSC code is INU (India) and Active CSC code it says XSA/INU, so I'm assuming that it's showing multiple CSC.
Does somebody know if having the Active CSC showing XSA/INU causes future OTA issues?
After flashing a ROM its good practice to go to recovery mode and do a full wipe of cache and full reset to change CSC to the default of the ROM you flashed.

Well, in that case I think I will pass for now, as I did a Full wipe cache and Full reset before the Flash but just did a Wipe cache after I flashed it.
The issue is that I basically just finish setting everything back as it was before (about 3 hours and I still haven't set my Contacts Ringtones and Accounts links) so begin again it's a PITA. Once I finish this I'll do a full nandroid backup to have everything as I want, but if I do the Wipe Data/Full Reset and then restore from the Full backup, does this put everything as it was including CSC again? I've been always confused about how deep this restore goes in the system files. Do you know about it?
Thanks.
Try restoring from your backup after the full wipe from recovery. If everything works then you should be ok. Otherwise start from scratch and reinstall everything one by one.
Will try that later today, thanks.
Goodluck.

I tried that and nothing, still the same, then I decided to remove the Re-activation Lock in Find My Mobile settings, and after that and enter to recovery mode, it changed the CSC to India, so for those of you with same issues, remember about Re-activation lock.
Thanks for your help.
Did you have a SIM card inserted when you flashed your ROM with removed reactivation lock?
I had the SIM card on the phone today all the time as I forgot to bring with me the SIM removal tool and didn't have anything to open the Sim card tray, but last night I didn't have the Sim card installed when I flashed the ROM.
So today after I did the Wipe cache Partition and Data and saw that it still had the same issue, I flashed a UK ROM into a SM-G925f that had some African country ROM (have never heard of it before in my life but for the name it sounded like an African country), anyways I did that and everything went great, so that's when I thought what was different between the devices and then I remember that I had turned on the Reactivation lock in my S6 and not in the S6 Edge, so I turned it off, then went to Recovery mode and for my surprise the CSC was already changed without any other reset or anything.

can you post a screen of CSC page of Phone ** info ** just for reference?
I see you said that CSC changed to India, but Active CSC or also Original CSC?
What I mean is that, now I have a S6 which has Original, Active CSC as MRU...I'd like to put a European fw on it since I'm based in Europe (got this Middle East / Africa phone just because Dual sim it's not available in europe) but I'm in doubt if putting an european fw will still show that CSC has changed from original one and maybe OTA updates won't work.
thanks
Changing csc!!!
I succesfully installed a G920I indian INU rom in my device which had a XSA rom but when i go to recovery it still shows as XSA ....How do i change that to INU?
Hi i am using a galaxy s6edge+ and i am really struggling with the region lock. I have tried a few options of the factory full reset changing the Apn's to the ones needed and using different sim cards.when it used to go into emergency mode "h+" now it won't connect to any internet at all. Can i possibly have any basic assistance with the rom and resetting options to change the csc when i do a hard reset the csc says it's 'multi'. what does that mean? Any region unlocking help would be appreciated so much!
Thanks guys

Galaxy S6 wifi calling option missing

I have a Samsung Galaxy S6 on the EE network in the UK. I should have the option to use wifi calling but the option is not present in the settings menus. My phone was not originally supplied by the EE mobile provider, instead I purchased the phone which appears to have come from Italy and has the Italian mobile provider TIM (this is shown on the CSC code on the phone)
Can anybody help me either change this CSC code to the UK one for EE or at least the generic one for UK specific firmware, or a way of somehow enabling the wifi calling feature - I did look this up but I can't edit the necessary system config (xml) files as they are read-only and my phone is not rooted.
cheers

You have to flash a CUSTOM PIT file... https://1fichier.com/?4f8y7tvinm
First of all, this will DELETE EVERYTHING, since you are on the wrong firmware...
In odin (use 3.10), go to PIT section then click PIT then load that PIT file.
Then, with that file, DO NOT FLASH YET. Go to AP, then load up the EE Firmware. (IT CAN TAKE A LONG TIME AND IT MAY SAY NOT RESPONDING, THIS IS NORMAL, DO NOT CLOSE THE PROGRAM)
Then you can flash, MAKE SURE AUTO REBOOT, F. RESET TIME, AND NAND ERASE ALL IS ENABLED... Nothing else.
Here is a link to the EE Firmware where you can download (You have to create an account, and it is quite slow download): http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/59518/G920FXXU3QOJF_G920FEVR3QOJF_EVR/
Btw, this does work, I am on Stock EE Firmware with WiFi Calling

G930FD keep restarting itself after nougat

Guys really need help here, I just got a used indonesian g930fd (strangely it shows g930f on phone info) which keep restarting itself after upgrading to nougat (OTA). Also even if I already "power off" the phone, it still restarting (or booting?).
I've tried to factory reset from recovery, still keep restarting. Btw at first factory reset, somehow data partition got corrupted then second one success. Also when my data partition corrupted, the phone doesnt restart/on by itself like I mentioned before, so seems firmware related issue instead of hardware.
I also tried to go to two samsung service center, because first one somehow tell my imei is from singapore and second center tell mine is fro arab (wth) so I can't claim warranty eventho still below 1 year.
My question is:
1. Does reflashing stock (7.0) firmware will fix it?
2. Why phone info show my phone model as SM-G930F instead of G930FD?
3. Is it possible to change Product Code? rite now my product code is definitely Indonesian (SM-G930FZDUXID), originical CSC blank, everything else XID / Indonesia . I kinda have doubt now because two service centers tell different country, also sticker on back cover somehow tell its G930F, and print one on glass cover G930FD
Mind me if these question alrd asked before, but I already tried to search and googled everything and Im still lost here.
here's my firmware information from *#1234#
AP: G930FXXU1DQE7
CP: G930FXXU1DQD7
CSC: G930FOLE1DQCV
Model: SM-G930F/DS
knox: 0x0
Thanks a lot!

Hi mate
Well mate , F and FD models have the same hardware and and use the same firmware , only difference is the SIM tray , they are different to fit one or or two sim cards depending on the models.
The model number is written in the build.prop ( do not know if somewhere else) if it only written there phoneinfo can be fooled , you can double check it by checking your IMEI at this site or other similar
http://www.imei.info/
It will tell you to what phone that IMEI was issued to. Check also with phoneInfo if the phone is original or refurbish
to your questions:
1. Does reflashing stock (7.0) firmware will fix it?
Is a good chance it will, if there is no hardware issues
2. Why phone info show my phone model as SM-G930F instead of G930FD?
do not know , check by your IMEI to see what the real model is
3. Is it possible to change Product Code? rite now my product code is definitely Indonesian (SM-G930FZDUXID), originical CSC blank, everything else XID / Indonesia . You can flash any F firmware with the desire CSC code , just download the firmware and flash it using CSC and not home_csc

Thanks for ur response! It's still original from phone info, now not tho since I already flashed new firmware.
Things that I already did:
1. Flashing two same 7.0 nougat for Indonesian version (updato and sammobile)
2. Tried entering recovery mode while charging to check if battery dead, result can't enter recovery mode means battery should be fine.
3. Checking serial number with Smart Switch somehow tell me it's from Arab. I can't restore tho since it keep restarting.
And restart issue still there. One thing for sure it does heat up everytime. While on odin mode, it never restart tho. I still can't find the problem
Is there chance for any other hardware failure somehow aside battery? Thanks!

Hi
It's still original from phone info, now not tho since I already flashed new firmware.
The original check in phoneinfo is regarding the hardware , it has nothing to do with the firmware also you can flash a different firmware to your phone and would be still original
1. Flashing two same 7.0 nougat for Indonesian version (updato and sammobile)
What files did you flash?
2. Tried entering recovery mode while charging to check if battery dead, result can't enter recovery mode means battery should be fine.
Not sure what you mean ...if you cant enter recovery while charging means battery is fine, that makes no sense, i doubt your issue is battery
3. Checking serial number with Smart Switch somehow tell me it's from Arab. I can't restore tho since it keep restarting.
I said check your IMEI to see to what device was asigned to , to see if it was assigned to a G930F or G930FD
Is there chance for any other hardware failure somehow aside battery?
motherboard...but if before of OTA was working fine i would think more in a firmware issue

CSC change to get upgrades faster?

Hello Glad to be here back after a few years
I've got A8+ 2018 from Singapore. Great device, I love it, but I'm stuck on XSP CSC (Singapore) for which updates are not very frequent. And that's driving me mad.
Code *#272*IMEI# is working for me and I can choose other CSC.
Fast questions
If I choose CSC from list, for which there is more up to date OTA - will phone let me upgrade after factory reset?
I saw that I can just type any CSC code (by using 3 dots button in top right corner). If I will put code, which is not on the list (probably that CSC is not a part of software) - would it work and won't brick my phone? Will I be able to use OTA after that? SER CSC (Russia) would give me Android Pie, so You know - temptation
I'm trying to avoid any flashes, but I'm only afraid of Knox and flash counters. I don't need to stuck to Singapore default apps/config. If flashing with original firmware from other region would not bring any Knox/counters related problems, I could go for it aswell...
PS: I'm not taking rooting into account at all - don't want to do that.

Question No provider update (CSC)

Hello everyone,
I live in France and I have a problem. The CSC of my SM-G996B is blocked on EUX so I don't have the firmware update and the Samsung members don't work. I have my sim card in the phone but no update to XEF is proposed to me (even after complete reset and multiple restarts).I have my sim card in the phone but no update to XEF is offered (even after a complete reset and multiple reboots). Does anyone have a solution to force the update of my csc or simply to make the update of the CSC appear because no provider update page for 1 month ? I have to update each time via Odin (for example I just switched to One UI 4.1 with march patches XEF yesterday) taking the XEF fw but since it's multi csc it makes the update without switching to XEF.
Yhank you in advance
Only way is to use Samkey, buy a few points (it isn't free) and change CSC that way. I did it on mine (with points from eBay, not recommended as it might get your phone blacklisted on Samkey) which was TMobile locked but now runs PHN (unlocked Netherlands) fine with all Vodafone services working, volte/vowifi and I get Vodafone software updates over ota as well.
