Hello All,
I am trying to build Nitrogen OS for Pixel 2 (aka Walleye).
I cloned Nitrogen OS and then forked device, vendor, and kernel trees from AICP as they already have working builds for walleye.
On compiling , I am getting an error.
Code:
external/tinycompress/Android.mk: error: cplay (native:platform) should not link to libtinycompress_vendor (native:vendor)

havent got a bootable build yet with those repos. you are free to use them, but i would rather not at this time as they are not working for me.

Bugs, havent came across one yet, but very few Chinese text might be a little irritating...
Also lack customization. Otherwise stable, smooth and battery friendly.

Didnt match, downloaded twice. However I downloaded the previous build 6-12 and worked flawlessly

I'll try but it's set as my secondary ROM (Data slot) I'll try but I think OTA will not work on it tho.
PS: very good battery life just used it today.

It has a built-in superSU just enable it in developer options.

No basically we r impoting some patch from mido note 4 and we r using prebuild kernel .As we know our device contains pure AOSP kernel .So probably It will work with Lineage os and lineage based or Aosp caf based rom.
Thought No build come out yet.But soon we will get some custom rom.

I could push them later but don't really see much point as most people will want to go forward rather than backwards 8.0 > 8.1 > 9.0 etc etc
Even with the Kernel source It will still require a lot of work to get a fully working device and will likely require some assistance from one of the more experienced MediaTek Dev's who are used to working with source code
I agree, but some people don't like Oreo and want to use Nougat. We can make another thread asking people for help.

we can overclock it from 1250mhz to 1300mhz, just a little difference. GPU can't be overclocked though.

Did anyone manage to successfully manage to compile the kernel using the Oreo Kernel source??
I keep getting compile errors but not sure if it's my set up (Arch Linux) or if the source is broken

I think the Oreo Kernel source is broken/missing bits which is kind of annoying when you spend hours fixing one thing then something else further down the build fails to compile and it quits. :crying:
It could be me just not knowing what I am doing :silly: as I am new to actually compiling kernels so still lots to learn for me but I would like to know if ANYONE has had a successful build or not especially someone who is experienced.?? :fingers-crossed:

How did you compile it? which toolchain and config files you used? I always get compile time errors, tried different toolchains and config files.
As I have plenty of free time due to me finishing university here in Tokio, I started againg building few roms. I'm getting my device tree ready, as for now I'm using another dev device trees.
I have created SourceForge account as it's easier to manage and upload files.

Thanks for your feedback. It has all I need too, I'm using it as daily driver and no problems so far. I'm gonna leave my computer building PixelBlaster-Caf and next week I'll rebuild PixelExtended with latest fixes and using my own device tree, which includes latest blobs from 11.0.6.1 .

I ran into a snag , I was unable to to text or recieve phone calls, I have the cricket network, I had to go back to stock , but I will try again later just to be sure there is a problem, I will update when i try it again.
Might I also suggest creating a telegram update channel to publish your ROMs. It'd be very convenient for people who have telegram.

How do i install this rom
I will be using this thread to post my unofficial builds of PE for veux, seeing as the last build was over a month ago.
I won't be making any source code changes, at least for the time being.

As long as it works stably and updates its security patch once a month, like the pixels, I'm satisfied, I don't need optimizations or modifications or anything, the simplest in the aosp style and with the pixel style, I Will try after
