This problem with my fit2 pro seem to have come out of nothing, as it worked fine the first weeks. The problem is, I get this little yellow dot, I swipe right to check the message, but often I find that it is an old message. I scroll to the buttom and clear all messages. After a short while, many of the deleted messages has returned. It does give me new messages, too, but many times it gives me old messages, even those I have already deleted. What is happening and what should I do?
Thanks

Hi Guys,
About a month ago my phone started saying "Text Messages: 1 Unread" on the main screen, even though when you go into the Inbox there are no unread messages. I tried deleting all the messages from all folders etc... but nothing - its stuck there.
I am getting really annoyed with it to the point where I want to just flash the ROM. Does anyone know why this happened or more importantly how to fix it and get rid of the corrupt/hidden/non-existant unread message?
Try this...
Hmm, Well I ran the file, but it doesnt do anything?
Have you soft reset since?
I'm using the HTC Diamond. But I thought I'll put this in the General problem as this might not only apply to the TD.
Today I received an sms and I couldn't get into the message to read it, so I decided to turn off my phone, and turn it back on again – I did the soft reset (pressing the power button on the top of the phone and not the instant soft reset button). I have done this before and it worked after that.
However, after I turned on the phone again today, the smses I received and sent since 23/07/2009 have disappeared.
I also checked the most recent call history and it's there – so it's not as if the phone decided to backdate itself.
Has this happened to anyone else? I would like to retrieve those missing smses (at least the ones I received) if I could. Is there a particular directory that the phone stores these smses?
Help would be much appreciated!

Mine aren't threaded either.
I can understand if it decided to delete today's or even yesterday's messages, since it takes a while for the messages to be saved onto the rom.
But I can't figure out why it deleted messages up to 2 weeks ago.
And did you have any way to retrieve the missing smses?
Has anyone had this happen? I have a stock HTC One X that I have rooted. Everything was fine, but now, starting today, when I create a text message, I click send, and it reloads the thread, but my text does not show up - it's just the same last text showing from before the problem started. When people send me texts, I do not see them, but I do get the notification. I rebooted the phone, and cleared the app cache to no avail.
I tried Handcent, and it works just fine. However, handcent has that funky menu bar at the bottom that I hate, and I get a notification from both Handcent and from the stock messaging app, which is annoying.
Any ideas on how to fix this are much appreciated.
Once I hit about 6000 messages I wasn't able to even load threads. I'm just using GO SMS Pro until there's a stable CM10 release for this phone.
Try going into setting and clearing the apps cache then reboot.
Thank you for the replies - I already cleared the cache. I ended up "fixing it", or rather, the problem went away, when I deleted the threads from my best friend and wife. The only thing I can think of is that maybe there is a thread cap, and I message them a lot? Iunno, but it's working now.
Hi,
This is a little annoying thing that keeps happening randomly. In my recent calls list I have it set for showing "All calls" only but it keep reverting to showing all calls and text messages. With me texting a lot it gets annoying to see all of that in there, thats why I prefer it to show just calls. I can change it back to "all calls" but day later or sometimes few days later it will go back to showing everything.
Was wondering if this was a glitch or if I am doing something incorrectly, and how could I fix it.
Btw I am running stock rom, no root, on the latest update from Verizon. This has been happening basically for about 6 months now (possibly since the big update to JB)
Anyways Would appreciate some help.
Thanks
Hey all, I've been having trouble with Messages on my Pixel 2 and curious if I'm alone (currently on version 3.9.039 but has been happening for 6+ months with previous versions too).
The pattern is the same every time, and happens almost daily. I'll type out a message into the box, hit the arrow to send, message disappears from the box (like it's sent), but then doesn't show up in the conversation. If I go back to my list of conversations, a portion of the message shows in the preview as if it's still a draft. But if I touch the thread to go back into it, there's nothing in the message box and it's still not showing up in the conversation. My only solution is to restart the entire device (forcing the app to quit and re-opening doesn't help). After a restart, go back into Messages, message still shows as a draft in that particular thread, but then when I touch it to go back into the conversation it now shows a portion of the message in the text box, I can finish what I intended to say, hit send, and all's normal.
It's quite maddening to have to regularly reboot just to get Messages to cooperate. I've tried searching around generally for tips, but this particular issue is hard to describe in a way that returns any useful hits.
Anyone else experience anything like this?
Thanks
I've been having the same issue. No idea how to fix it. Also running the latest Android Messages on a Pixel 2 on Google Fi.
