Huawei Watch 2 as a standalone device - Huawei Watch 2

Hello.
Because i did not liked form factors of most mobile phones, i did not owned any for last 15 years. Recently i found out that certain smartwatches allow usage of SIM cards and can be used as a stand-alone phone.
So i gave it a try to use the watches without any phone.
Solutions
a) Old tablet on Wifi.
As watches require an activation via Wear OS app, this was easiest and fastest way how to get them work.
b) Virtual Box, with Android x86 image, and Bluetooth
This solution failed for me for probable reason that USB bluetooth i used was just 2.0, and i dont have newer one available. Anyone has an experience with this?
Virtualization would help me to manage the watches alone, without any other tablet or phone.
Current difficulties.
1. Activation of the watches.
2. New PW protected Wifi.
Can be solved with an app.
3. New contacts.
For each new contact (stored in Recent calls), i have to get to a PC and add the number to Google contacts, which get synced with the watches.
Can me recommend me set of apps to overcome those difficulties without rooting the watches?

Ok, I finally succeeded to pair my Virtual Box from Windows PC with my Huawei Watch 2.
1. You need a Bluetooth 4.0 on your PC.
I used this one Belking USB BT 4.0
2. Download and install Oracle Virtual Box.
I have version 5.2.
3. Download Android x86 7.1 ISO. - android-x86-7.1-r1.iso
4. Setup your virtual machine (CPUs, RAM, Storage)
5. Boot the ISO from virtual CD/DVD drive.
- Install the OS on virtual box
- set it up with your Google account.
- Install Google Wear
- Enable bluetooth in Virtual Box, and then in the Settings inside of Android OS.
To be sure it works, Bluetooth has to disappear from Windows.
Notes:
a) You have to reset watches to factory defaults, else it will be invisible over Bluetooth and you wont be able to pair them.
b) Only Android 7.1 worked with newest Google Wear app.
Older androids got stuck during pairing process.
Hope this helps.

so why do you even bother using a Wear os watch??!
the are many watches in the market with full android os or other usable operating systems on them that they dont necessarily need a phone to pair with because they are basically a phone!

All the models available here (Slovak republic) were:
a) Using eSIM which is not yet supported by the local GSM network providers.or did not used SIM at all.
And i need a phone number (first time over 15 years )
b) Were called "smart watches" but were incapable of more than taking data for "Fit" applications and had GPS.
So they did not had any communication capabilities at all.
c) Were using a proprietary, and thus limited OS
So everything available here was designed to be attached to phone or a tablet, or it it was a standalone device, it did not had phone capabilities.
What is available here is Samsung S3, Garmin watches (various), Apple Watch or Huawei watch 2. Most of the offer is at least 6-9 months old or older.
Also, and oddly... specs on most shops are missing a lot of data. The guy who was selling me the Huawei Watch 2 believed that the slot is for MicroSD card...

Forgot to quote last time "D. Reply is in my previous post.
Huawei Watch 2 after three months as standalone
Features which work on 4G/LTE
There can be a problem for some users, the watch need google account to make features work. The positive side is, that you can manage some of them - like the contact list - on a PC and phone is not mandatory.
Phone calls
SMS
Contact List is syncing with Google
(Watch allow to type in phone number manually even without contact list)
Translate
Google Assistant
System updates
Apps updates
App Store
Additional apps i tested:
Google Maps (Partially. Navigate feature attempt to pop up on a phone)
Video Tube (youtube app. switches between 4g/Wifi depending on available network).
Browser app, yet i dont recommend to use it, as there is no optimized content.
Features which work only on BT (and therefore need phone/tablet)
Those can be managed from google assistant (you can schedule an event), however update in Agenda app will not show up until Watches get connected to Phone/tablet via BT.
Calendar / Agenda
Reminder
Notifications from Google services (Google plus, Youtube).
Huawei fit app (some parts need phone)
There is also some features which allow watches to control apps on phone remotely. In most cases it has little to no added value (such as remote control for youtube viewer, or music player)
Apps which need GPS location, else not working properly
Weather
Certain Watchfaces which report weather forecast via Widgets.
Certain Watchfaces which display map on the background
I understand why Weather apps need location, but exactly same feature over Google Assistant has no problem with telling weather forecasts.

Now for Google Pay.
a) Configuring
You need phone/tablet/virtual machine with android.
You have to add card on the watch, enter the details on phone/virtual machine
Rest of the identity verification may differ, depending on your bank App. Its good to know that the app works on Virtual Machine in the advance.
Virtual machine or android tablet does not need to have NFC, but google pay installed on the device will alway attempt to complete the payment method - and later politely explaining it will not work. Its ok to have NFC just on watch.
b) Once configured, no Phone app is required for using.
The application will work independently on phone.
Therefore its a success, and but the results may wary depending on your banking phone app.

Offline maps for Gear S2

I use different aplications for creating tracks/routes for trekking, hiking, cycling...
I transfer GPX (or KML) files into Locus Pro app on my phone, where I use track with offline maps for navigation. It's also important for me to have option to add points of interest on that track.
Is there any option to use that kind of navigation on Gear S2?
Ideal would be option to transfer track and map (smaller part or region) on watch, with similar onscreen guidance as for example Locus or Google Maps. (Well, Locus app for Gear S2 would probably be my biggest wish. )
Other solution would be offline maps with track (and POI) on phone and partial mirroring of screen on watch. Similar like HERE, but mora that just arrows and roundabout exits.
Apps that I found so far:
HERE - not suitable for my needs. (I use offroad maps)
Gear Navigator - can't find app in Gear Store. (Or I don't know how to make it work?) I don't know if it works completely offline.
Komoot - it takes long time to start/find location. Tested on bike route outside and lost signal/navigation several times. and it doesnt show map.
I'm guessing (but not sure) that you have a 3G watch with internal GPS, in which case when I search for "navigator" on the app store I see "Gear Navigator Standalone," which is supposed to work without getting a location from your phone over bluetooth. (I don't have a 3G, so haven't tried it.)
If you don't have a 3G variation of the S2, and thus expect to have your watch connected to your phone via bluetooth when hiking and/or biking, Samsung's android S-Health app can track your travels when you initiate hiking or biking from the watch, and the resulting track can be saved and used in other apps after the fact. But that doesn't offer on-watch turn-by-turn guidance, afaik.
I have non 3G version. I can see my location on watch (Maps for Gear) or show simple navigation instructions (HERE for Gear). So getting GPS location from phone is not an issue.
What I'm looking for is not to track my path, but showing the map/route to follow.

Don't know why you're not seeing Gear Navigator. That has the option to choose between using online Google maps data or offline Here map data from your phone, and shows turn by turn, as well as -- optionally -- a tiny map showing your location/direction. Was a bit buggy when I tried it, but that was a while ago. I've had decent luck with komoot guidance when biking; it knows my local bike paths pretty well.
There's evidence that the Gear S2's bluetooth connection is laggy. Some software developers have mentioned this. I think this shows up in the navigation apps, so that directions to turn sometimes appear a bit late, just when you're at the intersection rather than 30 seconds before. Don't know if this is hardware or software problem. (I wonder if it has to do with battery saving efforts on the part of the Gear S2's designers.)

I contacted developer of Gear Navigator and it seems that there are some regional restrictions. Developer can't add my country, because it's not "in developer panel". I contacted later Samsung in my country and they said I should contact developer about his. Not funny!
I do believe that there is in fact problem that Samsung didn't add my country to the list of countries that have (full) access to paid apps. I explained to Samsung Suppport that other app stores work already in our country (like Google Store or iTunes Store) even for paid apps. Since both devices that I use (Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge and Gear S2 Sport) are available in my country for purchase I expect to have access also to paid apps. I do understand that some apps are only in some regions available. But in this case, where developers wants to allow access, he is unable to do so, because my country is somehow not listed.
I've run into the Samsung support "it's the developer's problem" thing before; eventually one of them explained that things having to do with the store are just outside of their training. I wonder if there's anything we can do on this list to communicate to Samsung all the problems with their support. (The folks on the end of the phone are probably underpaid and undertrained and get blamed by their bosses if we give them bad ratings, so we'd need a way to reach somewhere higher in the system.)
OK, sorry - this is now off-topic, but may eventually partial solve (kind of) problem of navigation - if I could get access to Gear Navigator app for Gear S2.
How does Samsung define which country is in which region for access to Gear Store (or even Galaxy Store)? Is there any list of regions and countries in specific region?
(My country is part of Europe and EU member. However I can't access paid apps in Gear Store*. I guess some users from other EU countries can access paid apps in Gear Store. In this case my country must be in other region - probably. I'd like to clear this up and maybe ask someone at Samsung to change region for my country.)
* - I checked and I see only free apps also in "Galaxy App". Could be same reason. I never bothered with it, because I buy app through Google Play store.
I solved the problem - installed Gear Navigator.
I had to change the Samsung Gear Store to other country:
1. Installed VPN app on my phone
2. Cleared data for Galaxy Apps
3. Removed SIM card
4. Restart phone
5. Run VPN app (I choose region UK)
6. Run Samsung Gear Store and chose location UK
7. Browse apps that were before (for me) unavailable
9. Payment for apps works either with credit card or PayPal
I have installed (bought) all apps that I need.
Hello,
Question about "Gear Navigator".
Do you know the adress where I must save a gpx file to use it as a trace to follow ?
Thanks !

No response on above. I am also interested to find out whether I can view GPX on Gear Navigator and how to do it. Thanks.

you need a file manager for android, I use ES File Explorer, to open the gpx. When you touch the file the file explorer will ask you which app you want to open it with. You select Gear Navigator. You can even export GPX files from SHealth tracked running or hiking or cycling sessions and then upload it to Gear Navigator and use it to redo the same track.

Gear S2 - Google Integration?

Hello, all!
I was given a Gear S2 for Christmas today! Very polished, and nice UI. Also the battery life has been quite acceptable, with constant use and tinkering all day.
It was actually a completely unexpected gift... I'd been thinking of getting a smartwatch of some kind, and was looking to probably get one next year. As such, I hadn't researched them any.
My ideas of what I could do with a smartwatch, was basically using it as, of course, a watch, in addition to the functions of Google Now (reminders, music control, navigation, etc., as an extension of my phone).
Unfortunately, this nice little piece of technology seems to be 100% devoid of anything Google-related (and that is the eco-system I like, am familiar with, and have been using).
Is there any workaround to get Google Now working on it? I've got the "Wearable Widgets" app, and that allows me to call on Google Now when the phone's screen is on, or if it's plugged in. Also, I've been unable to find out an easy way to use navigation on the watch.
Any ideas if these things are possible? If I can get it working the way I imagine, that would be ideal over trying to get an exchange.
Not to familiar with the whole tizen eco system, but reading your post is making me think that you should go for another watch.
You said, that your '"home" are google services. There may be workarounds possible, but you will always have to deal with these.
I would really consider to exchange it if possible
S-voice is a weak point of the Gear S2, and there's no way I know of to replace it with google now voice recognition. There are nav apps, both the Samsung-supported Here we go and some 3rd party ones that optionally use google maps data like Gear Navigator. If you make sure to check Google and Google plus apps in the list of notifications, you can get cards and related info from google sent to your watch. And the music controls on the watch allow you to control most music apps on the phone (google music, spotify, podcast apps, etc.); you have to set the app on the watch to play music on the phone, instead of tracks stored on the watch. So there's a lot you can do, but it's true that if you want seamless integration with the google universe, android wear will deliver much more.

How to view remote device specs using RCA Viking Pro Android 6.0?

I am beginning to suspect that my i12pro max may not be an IPhone all together! First, even after manufacture reset, it does not have the Apple app store. Second, Apple says the serial number is not valid or does not exist. Third, according to Google i12pro max is Google Fi compatible however the app says my phone is incompatible! Fourth, when I looked into hard resetting i12pro max they showed a different button configuration than what I have. Last but not least, i12pro max is supposed to be Android 10, however when I last went through Google settings there was a feature I tried to activate that requires android 7.0 or better & was informed that I could not use it.
When I try a web search for remotely viewing device specs I would get tuns of info/apps for remote controls or apps for remotely spying on your spouse/children. When I try to find apps in the Google app store every thing says "This app may not be optimized for your device"! Please let me know about Android 6.0 compatible apps that can view/retrieve remote device specs accurately.

Motorola XT2125-4 EdgeS Help needed

Hi,
I purchased a new phone a Motorola Edge S (hardware SKU XT2125-4), unfortunately it is a China ROM phone which means it didn't come with Google play store. This was side loaded and I am able to install apps from google. But I have SO many issues with this and I am hoping someone has something helpful to actually use this phone
1. When I try to use Google setup a nearby device (to transfer everything over to this phone), it simply can't find my new phone (despite having bluetooth and location on for both phones
2. I can't restore contacts from google drive even though I can connect
3. I downloaded the MAGISK app, however the file browser is unable to install as the app is not allowed. The toggle to trust the app can not be changed.
I am at a loss as to how to actually use this phone as essentially it's useless at the moment. Any help would be appreciated.
It is already running Android Version 11
Baseband version M55_HI20_209.334.01.60R NIO_PVT_SUPERSDS_CUST
Kernel Version 4.19.136-perf+
Build Number RRN31.Q1-20-17-6
I can provide any / all other information if needed
If the solution is to root the phone, I'm ok with that too, but see point 3.
I'm in the same situation. Purchased the XT2125 as well. Got the Google stuff working by side loading the play store, services and framework. However, initially, while everything else was working, the contacts wouldn't sync. After a few hours of searching, finally came across an article which said that I also needed to side load an apk called google contacts sync and give it permission. Contacts started syncing after that. Fast forward a couple of days and a system update later, SMS are delivered with really long delays and outbound ones fail. Google maps crashes constantly and navigation just doesn't work. I don't know what to do with this phone now honestly, since I need Google maps navigation on a regular basis. Have tried reinstalling maps, resetting permissions, clearing cache and data but nothing seems to work. And with the SMS delay, I can't sign on our complete transactions on a lot of apps because the SMS usually arrives after such a delay that the code has expired. Feels like such a waste of money this phone even though it's supposed to be great bang for the buck.
I am hopeful that when they release the Moto G100 (same phone actually), that we will be able to flash it with this ROM to make it usable.

Yeah, I think it's being released in a couple of days. Anyway, I did a factory reset and the maps issues sorted out. Had to go through the pain of sideloading google again but the device is being shown as google play certified, but yeah, would be nice to just have the international rom on it.
Were you able to make any headway with your device? I didn't put a sim in mine but the rest of it seems to be working ok, except Youtube Vanced isn't signing in with a google account.

General Official List of Sideloaded Apps and Workarounds For Wear OS (Tested on Galaxy Watch)

SIDELOAD LIBRARY
COMPATIBLE WITH WEAR OS 3
TESTED ON GALAXY WATCHES
All Smart Watches Can Probably Benefit From This Guide
Special thanks to everyone who has contributed to testing and providing feedback on various apps and versions. Thanks to you guys, this library remains up to date. I recommend disabling most permissions associated with these apps including notifications to prevent excess battery drain. Please post to this thread or PM me if you find any discrepancies. Enjoy! Google Assistant GO v2.8 (ApkMirror)
Official Google Assistant for Wear OS 3 now available!
Google GO v1.7 (ApkMirror): Lightweight Google browser that can perform quick Google searches or display quick search result answers (such as weather or definitions). Tapping a link will launch in default browser app due to watches not having WebView support. Need to lower DPI temporarily after installing to get past initial language selection screen (see below for instructions on how to do this).
Google Chrome for GW4 (XDA)(Google Drive): This version of Chrome is listed in the XDA Google Assistant for GW4 Mega-Thread. It works well Sideloaded but I'm not sure if it's just an older version or also modded to not crash on GW4.
Samsung browser is also a good option for default browser. In case you need it, here it is from ApkMirror: Samsung Internet Browser (Wear OS)
Messenger Lite v25 (ApkMirror): Very convenient app to have if you use Messenger often. This app gives you full Messenger functionality for your wrist. Period. Stick to low versions due to clutter in later versions makes it impossible to tap on chat bar to write a message. If you also use Messenger on phone, to avoid getting notifications from both apps, disable Messenger Lite notifications.
If you have issues getting past 2FA, try to login on watch and then go to your Facebook notifications on phone to approve unrecognized device. Next time you try to log in on watch it should skip the 2FA.
Facebook Messenger (Wear OS) (ApkMirror): Official Wear OS implementation for Messenger. This is not an application that can be launched directly. It functions as a bridge between watch and phone so when you receive a message, pressing the "open app" button on the watch side notification will launch a convenient conversation window designed for round screens to message back and forth. This only works with Messenger installed on phone when it syncs notifications with watch. Does not work with Messenger Lite.
Facebook Lite v39 (ApkMirror): Easy to use Facebook scrolling from your watch screen. Dark mode and quality options available in settings. For better visibility, in the Facebook Lite settings menu, set the font size option to small. This app also includes it's own Messenger interface built into it that can be used for sending and reading messages.
If you have issues getting past 2FA, try to login on watch and then go to your Facebook notifications on phone to approve unrecognized device. Next time you try to log in on watch it should skip the 2FA.
YouTube Go v1.22.54 (ApkMirror):
YouTube Go has been discontinued by Google. Applications no longer work.
Google News v5.7 (ApkMirror): This is the best News option available to Smart Watches and It looks good on small round screens. You can set dark mode and data saver by launching settings (upper right corner) and while in the settings menu (not before or you won't be able to access the settings menu), lower the DPI to 200 (see below on how to do this). You'll then be available to see and access all available settings. Reset your DPI when you're done prior to exiting settings menu to avoid UI jank.
Update 12/18/2022 - Due to previous uploaded version now requiring update to use, v5.7 is now the ONLY VERSION left that doesn't crash or force mandatory update to use.
Google Translator (Google Drive): This is the old Translator app that used to come installed on Google Wear OS watches.
Google Phone (Wear OS) (Google Drive)(ApkMirror): Google's own phone app used on other Wear OS watches isn't available to Galaxy Watches on the Play Store due to Samsung wanting us to use Samsung Phone I'd imagine. However, the app can be sideloaded and works perfectly. If you use Google Phone app on your phone then I suggest sideloading the app on your watch as well and setting it as your default phone app.
Due to the Pixel Watch version of Google Phone lacking functionality on Galaxy Watches, I linked the older Google Phone app. Does all the same things with a different UI. If you're interested in the Pixel Watch version of Google Phone, you can find it in the link below.
PIXEL WATCH VERSION - Phone By Google (Wear OS) (Buggy on Galaxy Watches)
Google Home v2.7.21.2 (ApkMirror): After extensive testing with various versions of the APK, I can confirm v2.7 is the best version currently for Galaxy Watches.
Official Google Home app now available on Wear OS Play Store as a pre-install.
UPDATE 12/11/2022: Currently, still only a preview version is out which doesn't include much functionality other than launching directly to phone. Not ready to write the workaround off yet.
Google Files (ApkMirror): Excellent file manager for your watch that includes an app manager, automatic junk removal, and cache cleaning. You will have to lower your DPI to dismiss the initial dialog upon installing the app.
Google Calendar (ApkMirror): There are plenty of calendar apps available for Wear OS that include syncing with Google Calendar. However, if you want the real deal, it does work on Galaxy Watches with any of the recent versions. It crashes a few times when you first launch it, but then it seems to work fine once it's cached making it not the most stable option. However, all features are functional and it doesn't look too bad either. Dark mode available in settings manually.
Wear Mail (Watch) (Phone): Standalone or companion email client designed for Wear OS that's available on the mobile Play Store but not Wear OS Play Store. Excellent functionality and UI that is pretty much the only email client for Wear OS that supports direct Gmail account linking and access. It does all basic email functions including composing, reading, archiving, deleting, syncing, and sending of emails in standalone or companion mode directly from watch. Must upgrade to premium version for full functionality. Reported that application doesn't work at all in free mode anymore. If you upgrade to premium and find it doesn't work, you can request an instant refund through the pay.google website.
2/20/2023: Confirmed application still functions normally despite last update in 2021.
Other Semi-Functional Wear Apps
Google Cloud Access Disabled
Wear Messages
Wear Photos
Wear Videos
Wear Calendar
Wear DocumentsSpotify MOL (Google Drive): A modded Spotify Lite version. I've tried several modded Spotify apps and this is the best one I've found. It can play anything from your Spotify premium account directly from your watch as a standalone. You don't need your mobile device at all.
Here's a link I found on XDA of a Spotify version modded and adapted specifically for Wear OS. Have not tried: Click Here
GW4 Remap (Github): Button remapping for Galaxy Watches using Logcat. It can Remap both hardware keys to launch any application you want. There's a short delay between pressing and launching however. See link below for guide on using this. Despite the name, it does work on Galaxy Watch 5. Older version will launch over Samsung Pay instead of using logcat for button press which is instant but requires Samsung Pay remain installed and enabled. For watches without Samsung Pay pre-installed, see below for alternative option.
INSTALL GUIDE
Source: XDA / Github
SPayToGPay (XDA / Github): If you live in a region that doesn't have Samsung Pay, use this version to launch Google Pay using hardware key long press.
Discord v89.11 (ApkMirror): Not the best UI for round screens due to Discord's side swiping layout. However, works pretty good and just requires a little patience.
NOTE: If you run into captcha or other login issues, check out the workaround HERE. To summarize, while your watch and phone are connected, log into Discord on the web to trigger captcha using phone. After verifying with phone, you should be able to log into Discord on watch without triggering a captcha verification.
Instagram Lite v200+ (ApkMirror): Old versions crash. It doesn't look the greatest but it's fully functional. The problem is that the bottom status bar covers 20-25% of the display with blank white space for some absurd reason. Unless you use Instagram often there's no reason to bother with this.
Any Custom Font Guide: We can use zFont 3 to install custom fonts. The Samsung Cloud procedure isn't required since there are no font restrictions on watch. Here's the steps to set a custom font on your watch:
Download and install zFont 3 on phone HERE.
Import your font file into zFont using their custom font wizard. Google Fonts is a giant open source option for custom fonts that can be downloaded in TTF or OTF format. Google Sans is not available in Google Fonts but a simple Google Search will locate it easily. I recommend Product Sans as an alternative.
You'll need to install SamsungSans from Galaxy store. Most steps in application can be ignored since watches don't have the font restrictions that phones do and therefore don't require Samsung Cloud workaround. Start at the step that has you uninstall SamsungSans followed by installing CustomFontName(zFont 3).apk, STOP THERE. You're done with zFont.
Once you have the custom font installed on phone, use a third party application or ADB command (GUIDE) to extract the .apk file to device storage. Once extracted, sideload it directly to your watch through any method you prefer. GeminiMan (see below) can extract the APK and sideload directly to watch and is the best method.
Once sideloaded, from your watch go to Settings > Display > Font > CustomFontName. Done.
Sideload Ready Fonts
Google Sans Regular - DOWNLOAD
Google Sans Bold - DOWNLOAD
Product Sans Black - DOWNLOAD
The Google Sans fonts are under the name CircleRounded so you can only have bold or regular installed at 1 time. Product Sans is under the name SamsungSans.

Below are a few applications designed specifically to streamline the ADB process for Wear OS so that even beginner's or non-tech savvy people can make use of sideloading applications, uninstalling bloatware, and sending commands to watch
• GeminiMan Wear OS Manager (Play Store): This is an extremely useful app by @Dante63. It's essentially an app that simplifies any ADB related function for your smart watch. It allows you to sideload or debloat apps by selecting from the list of installed apps or apk's directly. Also includes an interface for sending custom commands to watch with an option to save commands for quick access. I was able to debloat and sideload everything I wanted on a freshly installed Galaxy Watch 5 within 10 minutes thanks to this app. PM @Dante63 directly with questions, feedback, or suggestions. You can accomplish any ADB related operation to Wear OS using this app. It smartly includes a reinstall option if you debloat something you shouldn't have.
• Wear Installer 2 (Play Store): This is the easiest app available for sideloading apps to Wear OS. It dumbs it down to the point where you never have to enter a command since it doesn't have a manual command input. Also includes ability to modify the screen density so that you can get past the initial setup in some sideloaded apps. In my experience, this is the best and most stable app available when it comes to just sideloading.
• Bugjaeger (Play Store): This app is an all inclusive ADB app designed for Android devices. This is my go-to option for ADB operations on my phone. However, it can pair to Galaxy Watch 5 using the Wireless Debugging option with a six digit pairing code and port number. This application isn't easy to use like the first two options but includes more advanced operations. Free and premium version available in Play Store.

APK Version Selection
The best place to download various unmodified versions of any application is ApkMirror. Some APK versions have multiple variants available. Only architecture (Arch) "armeabi-v7a" is compatible with Galaxy Watches. If it's listed as "Universal" then the manifest includes support for all architectures but uses up more storage to compensate. The more modern "armabi-v8a" is not compatible with Galaxy Watches and will crash if you try to launch it. Older versions typically look and run better on smart watches due to less cluttering and memory usage. With smart watches, less is more.

Good afternoon, I don't have anything to add but would be very interested to learn more.
I have Assistant Go 2.12.x I think installed but it seems earlier is better? Also is there a phone based ADB for changing DPI to remove blue banner?
Also a link to learn more about messenger lite?
FYI: Using Easy File Tools to sideload the assistant APK
Really appreciate it!
I have found an app and removed the banner (FYI there is a 'em' typo on the command on the assistant)
I've also installed messenger lite! Thanks for the tip off

I ran into the same problems as you. What app did you use? I tried Bugjaeger but only got a "unknown command: density200" error
I used 'Easy Fire Tools'

Oh ADB, thought you meant side loading apps.
For ADB I used this one

Side loading is using ADB to install apps on your watch...

I use Bugjaeger. To change density enter the command like this "wm density xxx"
Replace the xxx with a number

True but in the previous app I listed there is no access to the adb shell
Are we sure the default is 330? My notification 'tile' is off centered... Can't remember if it was like that before.
Watch4 46mm
Edit: Set mine to 340, seems centered again

I tried exactly that but only got a "unknown command: density200" error, even tough the command I sent had a space before '200'. Thankfully the app @-Sie- suggested worked on first try.

"wm density reset" to go back to default value. You're right , it is 340. I did a reset and used " wm density" to display it
List of additional APKs that can be Sideloaded to your watch by Appfour developer (Extracted from the phone app version). These apps are wear apps but were removed from the wear side of the play store.
Wear Messages: Syncs to Default sms and Facebook messenger.
Wear Mail: Provides standalone or companion access to Gmail and various other emails. Full email functionality.
Calendar for Wear or Calendar W: 2 of them included. Both can link to Google or Samsung calendar account. I prefer Calendar W.
Wear Photos: Standalone or linked app that can view all the images from your phone.
Wear Video: Standalone or linked that can view all the videos from your phone.
Wear WiFi: Great Standalone Wi-Fi manager. (This app is available on both play stores, no need to sideload).
Those are all the appfour apps that I have installed that WORK. All the other ones don't work so I didn't include them like the YouTube or Document viewer.
I highly recommend the Email if nothing else.
Note: Wear Mail was too big to import at 7mb so I had to zip it first.
Also: I attached the old Facebook messenger addon that wear OS used to have installed. It can't open messenger directly but when you receive a messenger notification on your watch, there's an option to "open app" which will then open a messenger interface that is designed for wear OS with full functionality.

I have tried to install different versions of GO Assistant with no success. The 1.x versions do not even start (the loading circle remains). The 2.x versions start but then he doesn't "hear" me when I speak (even if from the interface it is listening and I obviously gave permission for the microphone).
Which version have you installed successfully?
