Bootleggers ROM is an aftermarket firmware based on Ground Zero Open Source Project (GZOSP) and brings custom features with the most useful apps on your device, with the goal of "Making you feel like 家".
Using the stability and compatibility of GZOSP, this ROM is also packed with some custom wallpaper (Dawn by fxckingdeathwish), ringtones, and fonts, to bring to your device into a more fresh look, also with a selection of apps, header packs and wallpapers (on ShishuWalls app).

Q: Bootleggers? Why? What does that even mean?
A: Bootleggers (on a context of toy bootlegs and related stuff) are the people who take an original idea or product and make their own version, obviously on a low-quality way.
Q: What does the chinese/japanese thing means? I don't get it
A: According to google (and take the meaning of this with a hundred quotation marks) it means home or family. We want you to use your phone and feel yourself comfortable, and like it, like you'll be at home.
Q: Can i make Bootleggers stuff like wallpapers, logos and stuff?
A: Of course, feel free to do it, we will love it.

Only bug was there is of instagram and whatsapp videos not playing .. but that can be fixed, but the rom is working fine and amazing battery ...

I can't root my Otus with Magisk using Bootleggers. I read post 4 and followed the instructions but I still can't. Can anyone help me solve this?

What did you exactly do? Did you get some error in twrp, or does it flash successfully and root is not working?? Can you please explain?

Sorry. It does flash successfully but when I reboot root doesn't works.

Additional Info: I flash magisk and it goes successfully but besides not working when I turn on the smartphone, it does not allow anything else to be installed. After giving flash in the magisk zip, Playstore or any other market store doen't work and I can't install any apk because it informs that "the app was not installed". So, even though it doesn't work I need to uninstall magisk in TWRP and reboot, only then I can use Playstore again normally.

If you followed the 4th post properly, then you wouldn't be facing any problems...
You are first supposed to install the magisk apk and then flash the zip. You then need to disable magisk hide and reboot again. Please read the 4th post again if you have any doubts.

I followed the post. I followed all the steps but after I flash magisk zip and reboot to open the magisk manager I got the "magisk stopped working" message. I can't disable magisk hide cause the app doesn't work/doesn't open.

Yes. That navbar is of mono/art substratum theme (BelArt variant).

Screen lock broken. Tried pattern and pin both locked me out then I had to delete lock settings.db from TWRP

Never faced such issues. Does this happen on other ROMs?
If yes, then try 'Format Data' option in TWRP (this will wipe internal storage so take a backup)
Then flash the ROM+GApps normally.

First of all thankfull to uh for this great ROM really like it.
The bestest thing I had seen in this ROM is
1. Camera roll (superrrrb app??)
2. Mixplorer ( NYC file manager )
Both apps first time use in my moto e2 gen 3g otus which is best performing ☺
But there is much bugs in this ROM
1. Battery not charging properly
2. Pattern lock problem
3. Somewhere slow performance (very little bit not too much slower)
The last thing please fix all bugs I really like this ROM
Plzzz fix the all bugs quickly as much it is possible...

7. Passes SafetyNet?
- Yes. If you want root, use Magisk and enable Magisk Hide. SafetyNet failures may also occur because ADB is enabled.
8. Custom toolchains?
- I build Zenith kernel with Linaro TC 6.3.1.
9. Does VertexOS work with other GApps, TWRPs, firmwares, SU, kernels, tweaks, Viper4Android, etc?
- Please feel free to try, but I may not give support for issues caused.
10. Deep sleep issues?
- Reboot or clean flash.
11. Mobile network issues?
- Toggle airplane mode to see if it fixes the problem. Please check your APN and Preferred Network Type in Mobile Network Settings. If your APN is missing, please share the APN you want me to add.
12. Google Camera / OP3T front camera doesn't work?
- You'll need HAL3 enabled. VertexOS has HAL1 enabled by default. To enable HAL3 please flash the HAL3 Enabler. This may also fix front camera issues for OP3T. Be warned that you will lose OnePlus Camera functionality when you go HAL3.
13. Trustzone or Assert failed error 7?
You're using an incompatible firmware.
14. Why is the security patch in "About phone" outdated?
This ROM tracks CAF, which lags behind AOSP by a bit. However, you shouldn't be worried about this because CAF brings in the latest security commits even when the stated security patch level in "About phone" is outdated. Trust me, I've compared the commits of our CAF tag with the latest AOSP branch commits, and also with the Android Security Bulletin. Please just wait patiently for CAF to update the security patch string. I can easily change it and 'cheat' you guys, but I'm never going to do such a thing. So please be patient and know that your device has the security patches.
15. Creating unofficial builds of VertexOS
I have no qualms with it. If your builds are public, please do the following:
* Share proper links to the sources you used
* Provide clear credits to me
* Do NOT ask for donations
If you want to port and maintain VertexOS for another device in the longer term, send me a PM and we can discuss more.
16. Facing odd drains and issues with apps (message notifications not showing)?
* Stop restoring them with Titanium Backup
* Stop using hacky tweaks
17. Google Play Services drains?
* Clean flash
* Stop restoring everything with Titanium Backup

AICP is known by everyone as the "Ice Cold Project" that started on a Desire HD years ago (2012) and since then has evolved into a mature ROM with the BEST community that you can find!!!
Until Lollipop, the Rom has always been based on AOKP. Unfortunately, since AOKP stopped development (but made a comeback later), we changed our base to CM.
With the re-brand of CM to LineageOS (LAOS) we are now LAOS based with some tweaks from AOSP.
If there are any bugs, either we will sort them out or the LAOS team will if it concerns their code base. This rom isn't LAOS supported, so no need to report errors/bugs to them!!

Before using the ROM:
Q. Can I have an ETA for the next build?
A. Yes, just look in the OP to see if your device is built on a nightly or weekly schedule.
Q. Does this ROM support custom kernels?
A. No. You can still use them, but discussion should go in the thread of the respective kernel. We don't offer support for bugs you might encounter while using them!
Q. Why doesn't this ROM support Xposed?
A. Xposed is a hack that is geared towards AOSP, custom ROM's modify the framework a lot, so Xposed can cause a ton of issues on custom ROM's. Now it might work for you, however it is not to be discussed in this thread, and you should refrain from posting bug reports.
Q. Alright, but I still want to flash Xposed, so which version do I need to install?
A. You will need to use the version arm64/arm/whatever for SDK 27.
Flashing the ROM:
Q. What do I need to know before flashing?
A. Check the install instructions in the first post...
Q. Can the builds be dirty flashed over each other?
A. Yes, however make a nandroid backup first as there is a chance of getting a bootloop or encountering bugs. Also bugs may only be reported on a clean flash.
Q. How do I dirty flash builds?
A. Wipe the System, Cache and ART/Dalvik cache. Flash the ROM, GApps (only needed if you wipe the system), your preferred root solution and reboot. Or just use the OTA app to preform that task for you.
Q. How do I flash kernel builds?
A1. If it's a .img file, boot into TWRP and go to the install page in TWRP, in the bottom right corner select "install image", select the desired kernel, then select "boot", then swipe to flash, then go back to the install screen and install your root method again, if you don't want to loose root and reboot.
A2. If it's a flashable ZIP, you can flash it together with a ROM update or separately. Go to the install page in TWRP, choose the kernel zip (or add it to the flash queue right after the ROM zip). Then add your root method to the queue if you don't want to loose root. Now swipe to flash, and then reboot.
Using the ROM:

A. Go to Aicp Extras/Navigation bar, and enable it.
Q. I installed a bad theme and now I'm getting a bootloop, how do I fix it?
A. In TWRP, flash the substratum rescue zip that's in the substratum folder on the internal storage.
Q. I keep losing root with Magisk, how do I fix it?
A. Check this out. If that doesn't work for you, ask for help in this thread, read or ask in the Magisk thread on XDA or just re-flash Magisk!
Q. I'm having issues with WhatsApp, how do I fix it?

Q. Do I need to provide a logcat if I'm reporting a bug?
A. If you want it to be fixed faster (or at all) then yes, you should definitely provide a logcat. (Note: Please just link the logcat from your GDrive, Dropbox, etc. and do not post the content here. Thanks.
Q. How do I get a logcat, what type should I get and more questions that can conveniently be answered by my pre-determined answer?
A1. Read this thoroughly. Also, here's a good app for getting logs: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tortel.syslog (Root needed).
A2. If you are already rooted, you can use the built-in feature to make a logcat and provide that. Just look into the others section in the AICP Extras main page.
The ROM should contain everything you need to enjoy Android Oreo. You don't need to install any Add-on's, simply download the latest ROM, GApps, flash it and go!
If you want the device to run the ROM "rooted", you can flash a root solution of your choice after the ROM Zipfile.
It is STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing and please avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup as this can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug.
If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience any strange behavior.
How to flash:
(Again: Don't do it if you don't know it!)
1. Download the ROM and GApps and transfer them to your device.
2. Boot to recovery (TWRP recommended).
3. Wipe the System, Cache, Data and ART/Dalvik cache.
4. Flash the ROM Zipfile.
5. Flash the GApps (optional, needed for e.g. Google Playstore to work).
6. Flash the root solution of your choice (optional).
7. Reboot your device.
The ROM has GApps persistence in between dirty flashes, so you only have to flash them once!
The root solution should be flashed together with every OTA update (= ROM Update)
Currently Supported Root Solutions:
Magisk stable
Magisk versions higher than 14.0 doesn't require flash on every dirty flash depending on the deivce, some devices need you to flash it every time, unless your maintainer says otherwise it should be fine

Firstly ui is smooth no problems at all ,this ROM has a good amount of customization but I found lag in recent when switching between apps but everything seems OK after a reboot ,,ram management is awesome even in 2gb ram.

bt i found a bug ..:-

Everytime i try to apply a theme ,during system ui restart it gets stuck on black screen & then I've to reboot...
But i think its a ROM bug bcz i even tried restarting SYSTEM UI from advanced reboot option but it got stuck on black screen
so dev plz fix this i m loving this ROM ?

May be it will be fixed in next build... Try with root i'm not facing such issues.. I just only used volte icon changer theme so i'm not sure .. The bug is there or not..

i tried with root too...
every overlay is applied without a hiccup bt the overlay which requires system ui reboot gets stuck on black screen
It's a ROM bug due to which system ui can't reboot properly and need full system reboot

5. Flash ROM, GAPPS(flashing gapps is a must as of now) and magisk installer if you want playstore as certified

If you're having issues and want to submit a report (Logcat) please make sure you are reporting from the stock kernel, not a modified kernel. Modified kernels can break or fix, even improve things. It depends. I can't get a full clue of the issue when you're not running the original kernel.

Kindly provide logs this is needed. This is an issue with a few but nobody gives logs. As long as you don't give logs I can't help. A round about is using gapps mini and use Google launcher

Everything's is perfect but i was flashing magisk for root but its not showing me in menu i flashed it two times but not showing please tell me how to get root?

I have a problem with both cams:
Miui cam not work.
Gcam selfie cam not work (I know about this problem in all last pixel 3 ports)

Try to reboot 1 or even 2 extra times after flashing Magisk.

I flash it again and reboot it 4 times now but still its not , :crying: why is this?

Flashed masgick and also supersu both don't work they not even shows up in menu please tell me any fix i really like the rom

Magisk is auto installed when you flash the rom. You don't need install it.
Try flashing only the rom.
Edit: I did a dirty flash and had the apk magisk.

Just flash magisk..and If its not showing in app drawer.. Install the magisk apk manually.. Done:laugh:
