Hi,
When I got my Samsung Galaxy Q (SGH-T589R), a few months after having, I found out that there is another version of this phone, running android 2.3 gingerbread. And the model was SGH-T589W and was named the Samsung Galaxy Q.
Then, I wondered:
If I already had a very simalar phone, perhaps I could install its ROM with odin? And is it possible?
If there are any suggestions/answers, please reply
Signed,
Drew

I am fairly new to this and I am unsure if I can load Android 4.4 onto an A12. I am getting a new phone and was hoping to get a phone which would have Android 4.4. I couldn't find one with my provider. I'm kinda inexperienced so any help would be great. If it makes any difference I would be buying the phone and a plan through T-Mobile.
This is the phone I would be getting: https://www.t-mobile.com/cell-phone/samsung-galaxy-a12?sku=610214668899
Dear Npet2301,
you cannot flash Android 4.4 ("Kitkat") on a Galaxy A12.
It's simple: Android 4.4 was released in 2013-2014 for most devices back then. The Galaxy A12 comes pre-loaded with Android 10.
I'm a member of this forum for more than 6 years now, having more than six Android Phones, and I have never seen that you can flash a version, which is older than the one your phone was shipped with. Not even a custom Rom will make that possible and I also think that no developer will ever try that out either, since
a) Why Android 4.4? It's old and a total waste of potential on a phone with 2021 hardware on
b) It doesnt support the 64 bit Architecture processor of the A12
So, before you ask if any version after 4.4 (5.0- 9.0) can be installed on the A12. Simple = No.
