I have installed Ubuntu 16.04 LTS in my laptop. I installed Android x86 in a separate partition and didn't installed GRUB since it was already installed with Ubuntu. After the installation finished, I it booted directly into android. After I restarted, I can't boot into android. GRUB doesn't give that option.
Help will be appreciated.

I would like to know where I can get some info about installing Ubuntu / Debian 7 on my X86 tablet device.
Tablet uses an Intel Atom Z2560CPU.
If possible I would like any of the following possibilities:
Possibility one:
Run Android along with Debian (something like chroot)
Possibility two:
Erase Android from the device (currently installed) and make a fresh Debian install.
Possibility three:
Dual Boot with Debian and Android.
The hard part is that the tablet device doesn't have any kind of BIOS (at least one accessible to the user)!
I already tried multiple apps (to run Linux distro's) from the Play Store, but nothing seems to work.
Presently I have the machine with Android 4.0.4 rooted.
What do I need? Where can I find some documentation?

Am I the only one that is unable to update the phablet-tools for Ubuntu 12.04 LTS?
I hope that this is no work from Canonical to force me to update to current Ubuntu version as there is a obvious reason I prefer LTS, but really I am hoping that Ubuntu dual-boot works on Nexus 5.
I tried to install android 7.1 86x firstly for BIOS(legacy) mode because i like to keep the second OS hidden then I can boot directly to Windows 8.1 on EFI, then I selected to install grub however my stock bootloader was still starting and nothing of grub and therefore I cannot boot into android. Then I decided to install for EFI because I was a whole day trying to work that out and couldn't find any answer on Internet, however seems like the stock bootloader starts instead of grub after I restart the pc.
Extra information:
My pc has an E1-2000 AMD processor, it is 64 bits (and yes, i downloaded the right iso file).
Windows boots from EFI, and I had Kali Linux previously installed with grub and worked fine.After I removed kali I also removed grub with "bootrec /fixmbr" and "/fixboot" on command prompt.
Windows is working fine.
Try downloading the easyUEFI tool (check google) and on windows set a partition for Grub + setting it as the default over MBR

What if I don't have windows there anymore? Is there a similar solution, inside a command line maybe?
I think I'm in a similar situation where I can install and run Androidx86 from my USB, but if I restart the laptop it won't find any boot option.
I have an issue installing any OS other than windows on a Linx 1020 Tablet. It is locked with secure boot which is I am unable to disable and insall anything. I want to install Linux on to it. Can someone help me out. Thanks

I have, but i still cannot disable secure boot.
With the tablet connected to the keyboard change the settings you require in the secure boot screen then press F10 on the keyboard. This allows the new settings to be saved. I have already tried MXLinux and Lubuntu with no joy so far. mainly autorotation not working or wifi. Good luck.
