Hi,
on my Nexus 5 I've installed Lineage 14.1, 29 march build, and GApps downloaded on 30 march.
In the last 2 month I experienced fast battery discharging during phone usage and on top of process battery usage list I've always Google Play Services.
Also during long standby periods, like during night, Google Play Services is the process that use more battery.
After a day of normal phone usage I've battery usage like this:
Google Play Services 22%
Screen 16%
Whatsapp 8%
Opera Mini 8%
Today I also noticed a weird thing, in battery usage I've Google Keep 10%, but today I never used it.
Since I'm not skilled in Android troubleshooting I need some hints on what to do.
I've already did a clean system installation after wiped system, data, cache and Dalvik, I also tried to disable location services.
Any help is appreciated

Hi,
I have a question regarding battery life of the OPO. I'm still not sure whether I have a defective battery, or some apps drains my battery like crazy (or both?). I hope you can help me with this.
In the first 2 weeks since I got it, I use my OPO for mid to heavy activities (a lot of Whatsapp, Youtube, streaming music, etc). I always start the day with 100% battery and I thought it was normal to see the battery drops to at least 20% at the end of the day. To be honest, I didn't check the battery stats in Settings even once in this time frame, and due to my heavy usage, once again I thought this was normal.
Until one night I decided to plug the charger earlier than usual, unplug it around 11pm (w/ 100% battery), then I fell asleep. I was shocked the next morning (8am) when I saw the battery has decreased to 65% with no activities whatsoever. I check the battery usage in Settings and then saw Google Play Services (GPservice) at the top of the list with 45% usage, with "keep awake" time almost identical to total time on battery. I did some research and found some advice including 1) denying GPservice abilities to "keep awake" and "wake up" via privacy guard (from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/general/guide-google-play-services-battery-t2832525), 2) turn off location, 3) turn off sync, but none of them seems the solution to my problem. Since then, I always check the battery usage and reset it, to see if GPservice still at the top. Sadly it still there. After I reset the stats, go to sleep directly and check it about 1 hour later, GPservice uses 40% - 60% of the battery usage, draining about 6% battery / hour.
With screen on a few minutes, it easily drops to 5th or 6th place with ~7% usage, with screen and main apps I use on the 1st and 2nd place. When I googled about this using Firefox, that's when I start worrying about something else, the battery itself. With wi-fi and low brightness (less than >20% if I convert it from the slide bar), browsing with Firefox decrease the battery 1% in 2-3 minutes, no or low usage drains 1% in about 5-6 minutes. In contrast, charging increase the battery 1% in 1 minute. Is that normal? IDK, usually bad battery increasing faster when charging and decrease significantly when in use.
Please help, especially about the excessive GPservice battery usage. And if it's possible, I prefer non-root solution for it. Thanks and sorry for my bad English.

Definitely sounds like somethings not right, what apps do you have that access or could potentially access your location? If you're still not having any luck, as a last resort you could try a fresh install of CM11S and install your apps one by one to see if you can determine if any are responsible for sucking battery.
Give the below app a try:

Install Gsam to see if you can gain any more insight into whats causing battery drain.

Maps, Google Fit, Google Now, among other things.
CMIIW but I read somewhere that GServicefix does the same like privacy guard, denying some service to keep awake, wake up, etc.
So I installed Gsam and run it about 1 hour. Interestingly in there, Kernel (Android OS) is on the top the % list with 60% usage (mostly phone in idle/sleep). When I switch sorting to Kernel Wakelocks, it shows event0-798 & event2-798 as the top 2 wakelocks with around 7000 wakelocks. I'll update in few hours, thanks.

From what I read on the Play Store description, Kitkat and above requires root?

Hi, sorry for the late reply.
It seems reboot the phone a few times solves the problem. Battery usage now seems normal when idle, even with location & sync turned on.
Hello xda,
I have my Oneplus One more than one year now, and the geatest thing I alwasy notices was the much better Battery life.
I dont know what happened, but before 2 weeks my One needed much more battery when i did nothing with it:
Before 3 weeks: 10 hour in the night, with only 30 min screen on, the One used les than 3% battery.
Since 2 weeks: same 20 hour in the night, less than 30 min screen on, the One needs mor than 13% battery!
So before 1 week i completly wiped my device, flashed an new custom recovery and installed stock COS12.
I had not backed up any apps or settings or restored them, but changed everything new in COS, so that i did not copy any mistakes which i had from before.
The problem remained and i still had battery drain when the devices screen was off.
So i searched in the Web, and installed a battery watch app.
These are the fixes i tried:
-Disable double tap-to-wake
- Uninstall Google Play Services updates and install the new ones from Play Store
- Install an App called Wakelock-Fix, which activates and deactivates one google update service everytime after rebooting you phone.
- Using Privacy Guard and disabeling the wake up and stay active settings from Google Play Services.
After i tried this fixes the battery drain stayed as worse as it was before but instead of the Google Play Services in the Battery Usage only the Google Services showed up!!!
Sorry for my bad English, I am from Germany.
And sorry if there is already a thread or Solution in this forum, but i searched some hours in the Web and did not find anything.
Please ask if something is not clear.
Screenshots willl come later.
Here are some screenshots:
https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B...xHSEJWamFEWDBicTNMYm1QWkZSclRhS2JJVXk2elhVTTg
Look at the date of the pictures to see the development from Google Play Services battery drain to Google Services battery drain. Also i added some Pictures of SetCPU with the Tim in State because before 3 weeks i had more than 90% of the time only 300 MHz but today i have less than 80%.
And i added some Screenshots of each Tab in BetterBatteryStats.
Nothing looks unusual there. Your screenshots from BetterBatteryStats show that in an 11:50:29 period it is as follows:
Screen on = 00:32:57
Device awake = 00:42:04
Deep sleep = 11:08:24
This tells us that your device isn't being held awake when it shouln't be, it's only awake a little over nine minutes more than the screen on time which is actually pretty good. Are you comparing Lollipop to Lollipop or are you comparing Lollipop to KitKat? What I'm seeing here looks pretty normal to me for Lollipop.
The Screenshots were made all within 2 Weeks till now and always based on Lollipop 5.0.2
Is this really normal? Because when i first got the device with KitKat i only lost 2-3% over 10 hours in the night and before some weeks when i had been longer on Lollipop the battery usage suddenly went up.
And the Google Services are still using lots of battery or is this normal? Because I had only Google Play services using the Battery too much and now i have the Google Services instead.
Just saw on Twitter that COS12.1 with Android 5.1.1 will come out, maybe i will just wait for the Update.
But thank you so far.

So you are essentially comparing Lollipop to KitKat. Lollipop doesn't get as good battery life as KitKat had, so that's part of what you're experiencing. Google Play Services and Google Services are the same thing, it's just showing up differently in your battery stats page. Honestly, I don't think you have anything to worry about, everything in your screenshots looks completely normal to me. Just enjoy your device. Maybe try the latest COS12.1 update or a custom ROM.

I don't see how that's at all relevant to the situation described here.
After my original phone went into bootloops after the marshmallow update, I got a replacement within 1 day (thanks, AT&T, they really surprised me with customer service on this one). Unfortunately, my replacement has been full of issues. For starters, I used to get maybe 1% per hour max battery drain with idle and screen off with location and sync on (would be 97-99% in the morning if it was 100% before sleep), but now it is 5+% per hour, same battery as before, even switching it with my spare, no difference. I have Greenify installed and have a decent number of things greenified, but I don't want to have to also turn off location and sync just to get still worse battery life than I had before. A factory reset did not fix the issue. Google Play Services seems to inexplicably be taking more battery than phone idle now but it is not enough to be explaining this battery issue fully.
Also, I get lag in various applications, including pre-installed system applications. Most noticeably, Chrome and Chrome Beta have the same issue of freezing 3-10 seconds before the page is completely loaded which is an extreme nuisance. Reinstalling the apps and clearing the cache/data did not help. Various system applications run with lag too. I moved some applications to the SD card and the settings app was lagging so terribly it crashed a few times.
Any ideas to my phone woes?
Hi everyone,
I know battery issues have been discussed a lot, but I see others with on screen times that are far above what I am able to achieve. When I first started using the S7, the battery life was fantastic but I feel that every update has gradually worsened the battery life.
Are there any suggestions to see what is using so much battery? I've attached screenshots that show 23% remaining after less than 2 hours screen on time. I've tried a few battery monitoring apps but they do not provide much more info on "Android System" and "Android OS"...
Thank you!
Wanted to post a new screenshot... battery at 23% at just under 1.5 hours of screen on time (with auto brightness)...
Could try something like GSam battery monitor if you haven't already, seems to be a popular one
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gsamlabs.bbm
Have you cleared the cache from recovery yet?
Obviously last resort would be a factory reset
And if you have upgraded from MM to Nougat and have not factory reset since, that's likely the cause, always advised to reset after a major OS upgrade to prevent things like this happening

Thanks, I will try that battery monitor but I think it will continue to just list "Android System" and "Android OS" rather than the detailed process that is draining so much battery...
I've tried a factory reset after upgrading to Nougat - no difference.
Android System shows only 11% usage on your screens with only 335mAh which is also 11%, so that's not the issue
Screen and Android OS are both using less than 10% each, so at most between those three that's under 30% total battery usage

Good day.
In GSAM you have an option (Enable more stats) in 'more' menu, that gives you the apps that are battery consuming. Try that.
Hi.
I've got a similar experiance on a new S7 bought last week.
It came with Android 7.0 intalled right out of the box, so this should have been a clean install.
My top battery drains are:
Screen: 20% (5h screen on time)
Android OS: 12%
Device standby: 11%
google play services: 10%
android system: 8%
mobile standby: 8%
camera: 7%
I deinstalled several apps, and disabled a lot of automatic syncing and other things like google cast or nearby. The "ususal things" for a better battery life...
I've used a lot of camera, messaging, internet browsing, but none of these apps are on top... it's the "Android OS"...
This is strange, because I never saw this kind of beahaviour on other smartphones.
There's one Samsung app I cannot deactivate: Knox. And it's showing the same percentage of 8% like "Android System" (perhaps because it's a subset of the "system")
I don't want to use Knox, like many other private customers would.
Is there a chance to stop it?
I'm having the same problem. Today was my new low record, 10% battery left with 1h45m SOT.
Wlan has been off, BT off, 4G data on, most used app was Spotify which I used with headphones for about two hours. Before Nougat update I could get 4-5 hrs SOT.
I don't use Facebook or FB Messenger apps, and have actually disabled FB and a lot of other junk with Package Disabler Pro. Using PDP doesn't really have much effect on my battery life.
Is it safe to clear the cache if I'm not planning to do (yet another) factory reset?

System apps aren't measured individually for performance reasons, so you're right, it's a subset of "System" and not necessarily using that amount of battery. Knox is a security feature. You cannot disable it without modifying the firmware and voiding the warranty. It genuinely doesn't do much if you don't use it though (but might get annoying if you're rooted).
So I've had my OnePlus 7 Pro for over a year now and battery has been getting steadily worse. I've been running the latest stock beta channel (O2_BETA_5 atm) with Magisk and my battery drain has been consistently awful. I'd turn off WiFi in the evening and still my battery would be half gone by the morning. In the beginning the phone would easily last the day and now it barely gets me halfway through. I've attached a SS from AccuBattery showing a 10%/h drain with screen off. I've ordered a new battery but don't see the point of changing it before fixing this glaring software issue. I've done minor tweaks with root (including https://github.com/peterroth/OnePlusBatterySaver) so I don't know - maybe I ****ed something up. I would prefer not to do a factory reset but at this point I don't know what else to try. Please help!
Was also using beta 5, moved too the latest stable. Battery on last beta is bad.
Or maybe install BBS to monitor what's draining your battery
Lot of trash apps.
At least block the Gallery app with Karma Firewall; it doesn't need internet access unless you're using cloud services.
Any cloud services impact battery life...
Google Backup Transport, Framework and Google play Services are known serial offenders.
Google Firebase is another one that runs in the background mining your data like a little b$tch.
Trash apps sometimes wake up Google system apps or Android Services with their bs.
