Bootloop SM-G930V - Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions and Answers

Ill openly admit that I am a dumbass now.
I am completely stuck.
My phone will boot into download mode, but when I try to flash the stock fw back onto the phone I get an error. It will let me flash Nougat_S7_Flat_EngBoot.tar.md5 onto the phone but then it gets stuck on the bootloop with the blue recovery text in the top left.
I was originally trying to reflash the phone back to stock to G930V because I had put G930T on there and it was running but was laggy with the root on it.
Anyone have any ideas or links for me to try?
Im trying to download 6.0.1 right now to see if maybe that will work.
EDIT: I FIXED IT.
Was able to get an older version of G930V to finally go through.
Jesus christ I thought I had a paperweight lmao
Downloaded it from samsungbay cause the one that was in the thread here wasn't working.

Soft brick help

Hey guys, I somehow managed to soft brick my verizon GS3 this afternoon. I just need a little help in getting the thing back up and running and possibly an explanation on were I went wrong. I thought I had unlocked the bootloader and then rooted the phone. I managed to install TWRP 2.5.0.0 and do a backup. Then I installed a custom ROM and got the infamous "Software not authorized" message with the yellow triangle.
1st, is it possible to get this far with the bootloader still being locked??
2nd, If I understand correctly, I need to use ODIN to go back to stock and start over. Correct? Or is there another way to salvage this situation. If I have to go back to stock, can someone point me to the latest files? I've found links to a lot of different ones and I don't want to make a bad situation worse. BTW, I can't get into recovery but I can get into ODIN mode.
Any help is greatly appreciated!!
Ok, using ODIN, I was able to get a stock ROM onto the phone and get the thing booted. So essentially I'm back to square 1 and I still didn't figure out what I did wrong the first time around. Bummer Eh?

Yea, I soft bricked once and was able to boot into recovery by holding volume up, power, and home at the same time while the phone was off. I thanked my lucky stars I had a nandroid backup. I would make sure you unlocked the boot loader properly. When I first started rooting YouTube was great for instructions. I would post a link to a YouTube video but it won't allow me until I have ten posts, I swear some of these rules are retarded. Anyway search in YouTube having visual and audio guide helps a lot. good luck!

If you haven't updated to the latest stock rom through Verizon's updater software ("About Phone" -> "Software Update") then you should be good. If that is the case, you can download the stock odin .tar file that contains the phone's original firmware, and flash that with odin (plenty of guides in this forum). After that, you have the option of either keeping the phone stock or modifying it with root.
Edit: It seems to me that the bootloader wasn't unlocked; when you do return to stock, do remember to flash the unlocked bootloader!
Hope that helps

You can use odin to fix this issue and just update the firmware. If you want to root, don't update it past 4.1.2 and use s3 tool to root and the ez unlock to unlock the bootloader. Just follow the directions on the links.

Flashing Rom in Odin sboot fail S906L

Hello all,
Have rooted my SM-S906L (5.0.2), which is the SM-G920V for Straight Talk.
TWRP recovery is installed and all is well there.
Trying to install the stock VZW Rom 6.0.1 with the file name: "G920VVRU4CPC2_G920VVZW4CPC2_G920VVRU4CPC2_HOME.tar.md5"
Odin finds the com and device gets added, and the rom takes forever loading into the AP field, then its ready to go.
Hit Start and it fails on sboot.bin...
Could someone possibly point me into the right direction, what I could have or been doing to get this error.
My goal is to get Marshmallow on this S6. My stock firmware is backed up using TWRP.
Thanks!
Update:
..
please let me know if you find any solution
S609l vs g920v
Here here...
Been hoping someone would confirm that the G920V is, or not the same hardware as the S906L.
Would be inclined to experiment more if that was indeed the case.
Regardless, installing TWRP through Odin was straight forward, then rooting with SuperSU, again not an issue.
Quite surprised that there is not a custom rom out there yet?
In the meantime, will keep researching
Still no joy on custom rom for s906l?

Negative
Nothing yet, still hoping that someone will have figured it out and share. I did have the stock G920V rom boot looping at the Samsung logo but since this is my main phone at the moment, I flashed the stock rom back... I am sure the SM-G920 varient is the SAME unit, just would be a drag to hard brick my only phone.
OTA Update Recived
Last night my SM-S906L did indeed receive an OTA update 275mb, and have harvested to ZIP from the cache/fota folder to my GoogleDrive if anyone needs it.
So before I apply said update, who do I see what OS version it is before it is applied?
My phone is rooted and using TWRP which means once this is applied I am back to loading TWRP and SU.
anyone else get this on theirs, thoughts??
I updated it. Still on 5.0.2. Build number now ends with pk4. When I googled the build number there were s7 nougat roms that ended in that. I was really hoping tracfone was gonna give us a real update.
Edit... just tried flashing the s906l twrp in odin and it wouldn't take. Odin said success but it still boots to stock recovery with the power volume up and home press AND I can't go back to the oe3 firmware or whatever the one that's post around is. Now I'm even screweder

Anyone ever figure anything out with the pk4 firmware with regards to rooting?

S6 G920F stuck on boot logo

Not sure if my phone is a lost cause and only good as a door stop. My phone at one stage would only display a screen asking me to plug into smart switch to recover the phone so I tried that but smart switch wasn't happening. I downloaded the latest stock rom and installed it successfully via ODIN but now my phone will not get past the boot logo. I can only get into download mode, Any advise on if I can get my phone working again?
Thanks
Andrew

Bro, I've been there and this is why I made an account on xda to see if my s6 (G-920F) can be fixed in any way. Yesterday I had the same thing as you when I tried to re-flash the phone with its proper, latest stock-ROM (UK/EE Nougat 7.0). Given how it hadn't worked, the update attempt through Odin screaming a big "FAIL!" at me, I was afraid I had bricked it completely, so I proceeded to re-install TWRP with Odin by putting the phone in download mode. I wiped the phone again with TWRP and now I'm not sure what I have to do as I am stuck with the UK Nougat bootloader and nothing else on it.
Before this whole ordeal I had rooted the phone and unlocked the bootloader following some instructions from a Youtube video and successfully installed a nighty build of LineageOS, which was buggy as **** (couldn't answer calls, use data, use the camera and a ****ton of apps were just not working). Dumbly enough, I thought I could just remove it through a wipe and put something else back on it but oh was I wrong.
Right now I'd just want to get my phone back to working (like you), as I am out of a job and need to be able to take phone calls with a normal, working phone.
Sorry I couldn't be of much help, but yeah maybe a first step towards fixing it would be to flash TWRP recovery on it and through the terminal, see what bootloader version you have with the command "getprop ro.bootloader". At least you will know the version of the broken bootloader you're experiencing difficulties with and *hopefully* an actual dev from the forums will entertain themselves in trying to solve this noobish puzzle we've created for ourselves.
Seriously, if there is a dev ready to board this crazy adventure with us, please help.
My namesake or username is pretty much a clue to what got me into this position.
I wish it was that simple for me mate, I cant access the recovery menu, I've tried flashing various recovery options but cant boot into any of them. I'm certain I could fix the phone if I could get to recovery. I'm now leaning towards it being a hardware fault with my phone. As you have access to recovery I think you may have more luck with your phone.

Oh dear.
Yeah it does sound like something got deeply ****ed up in this case. I had the luck to somehow get past the smart switch error when the phone died of low battery. As I attached it to the charger I quickly boot it into download mode before the screen would become a bootloop again and that's where I was able to reinstall the latest version of TWRP recovery. After that, I was able to flash a stock ROM of Nougat that didn't have a ****ed up bootloader like I had. Specifically the one from this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6/help/device-5-binary-3-s6-sm-g920f-t3706025
by forumber2.
It's the Netherlands stock-ROM. Not sure if you're from the US and the carrier would be wrong with that CSC, but it was a good bet for me. I got my phone back to working normally now.
Worst case scenario I'd say see if you have a phone repair shop nearby and ask them an opinion on what could be wrong. I'm just an amateur like you.
Still, I wish you the best of luck with it. Maybe there's still some hope. :/

PLEASE HELP ME!!! Sm_n915P wont load firmware.

Long story short. I have downloaded about 10 different firmwares and they will not load onto Sm-N915P (Sprint Note4) I attempted to root last year and failed and I just left it alone. I came back to it now and while doing a factory reset via Twrp I wiped OS. I dont remember what firmware I had on the phone as their was no backup done. ( I know, I know now i understand why you must always do a back up). I am trying to at least get any type of firmware reloaded onto the phone. I even have a membership at sammobile now trying firmwares. I would prefer to not just keep downloading firmwares and trying them. If someone has a idea how I can get my phone back up and running.
Im not sure what information to add to this post. I do have Twrp twrp-3.0.2-0-trltespr.img running on phone. but everytime I try to load Firmware I get the MD5 error (I removed the MD5 tag and still get fail.
When I attempt to start phone i get Kernel is not seandroid enforcing (Red)
Set Warranty bit Kernel (Yellow)

Thank you for your reply. I am downloading now and will let you know how it turns out. I really appreciate your reply. I was beginning to think no one would respond and I would have to just trash it and move on.
Thanks for your help
Well Great news! It flashed to the phone no problem. However after it went to a blue screen that said starting Anroid twice. It is now in a boot loop. Can anybody assist me with this.
