quick odin question - Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions and Answers

I was successful in installing SM930T software on my S7 Verizon phone using odin. My question is how should I back up my phone with Smart Switch. Should I use my old Samsung on5 T Mobile phone to back up or should I use my recent backup of my S7 Verizon phone? I used the S7 Verizon phone for 2 weeks (which I initially backed up from the on5) but I was concerned that backing up from the Verizon phone might cause problems. Thanks!

Flashing different model firmware onto G930VL

Hello,
I bought a G930VL (Straight-Talk) S7 a few months ago, but I'd like to use it on a different service, specifically ting, to save money.
I have read about others flashing the G930V firmware onto the G930VL and successfully using the phone on Verizon.
I'm unsure of what model firmware to flash however to make it work with ting (G930V vs G930U vs G930F), or where to find a guide I can follow to go about doing this.
Thanks for any help,
Matt

All I know is the U software is way better after ya locate a way to unlock the bootloader on the phone so it wouldnt interferes with other security part and lock ya from using it at all bricked software iv'e done it with a galaxy proclaim a while back and I really love it without cell service preinstalled locked bloatware tht ya cant completely uninstall em but uninstalled updates for em and disable em is comes close to u firmware

G930P with G930U firmware.

Hello, I just recently bought a Galaxy S7 G930P Unlocked and it works with my ATT sim card but has horrible battery life. I noticed it had G930U firmware installed, does this cause any problems to battery life or anything else?
If android 7, that's normal. Install android 6 instead via Odin..
Should I switch it to the specific model firmware or keep it on G930U?

Unlocked AT&T Galaxy S7 Active to Verizon

So, these past couple of days I've been trying to find a way to get my unlocked ATT Galaxy S7 Active to work with Verizon.
Well, I have read and read and can't seem to get it done. I just realized that it was an "active" which means its not a normal galaxy S7, I guess. I have read that flashing with the U firmware would be best, but every time I've found one that I thought would work it never has. I've tried both on a mac using the ported version of odin for mac which I couldn't get to work at all. I have also tried going with the Oreo OS as well as the one before it, but the U versions firmware, and trying to install them with the Odin 3.13 software using Vmware and it just constantly fails. is it even possible to flash the firmware on this model?
I have he ATT Galaxy S7 Active Model number: SM-G891A

This is why i never buy branded phones!
The rubbish ATT&T active is on a GSM baseband and Verizon use CDMA so your phone won't work on Verizon until you unlock the CDMA radio software on the phone.
Finally got my g891a on verizon with stock rom and root
I would be really interested to see how you did it. I'm in that situation now. I have the G891A and my carrier is switching from running on ATT network to Verizon. I like this phone (I know it is getting some age on it) and it still does all I need/want and I really don't want to give it up.

Samsung Galaxy S6 software issue

Hello, I have a Samsung Galaxy S6 which have model number in the software where it says SM-G920V. In the same phone at the back it is written as SM-G920F. It is registered as a Verizon phone software with their network. Now at this current situation i can't use it as a normal phone due to network issues. My dad bought it from UAE Souq and it had the same problem since it was bought before 3 yrs.
I even tried to flash a Samsung stock firmware where it failed and at the end i also tried to root the phone and it failed too. So I used a root checker to find whether it was rooted before where it showed that root access is not properly installed on this device.
Usually for a Verizon operated phone have their logo at the back but it is missing on my phone.
so can anyone explain this why is this like this with the different model and software which can't be changed to a normal usable Samsung firmware experience on my phone.
