I have a device which is locked to the network, meaning I cant enable oem unlock to unlock the bootloader. Is there any way round this? Thanks
If it is a Verizon Pixel 2 and has newer than January's release in it, there's nothing you can do

How do I get to enable OEM Unlocking on a verizon Pixel with the 7.1.1 Update? I've already went to a verizon store and they told me to go check out the forums.
It's greyed out, too
Thanks

Can't on 7.1.1. You had to do it before it updated. No way possible now.

Anything is possible in the future. But not right now. And no word of any progress.

This is where it sits currently.
If you want to unlock, install TWRP, etc. on the Verizon Pixel it MUST be done before updating to 7.1.1. The OTA permanently locks the bootloader UNLESS you unlocked before taking the OTA.
The OTA to 7.1.1 blocks the ability to unlock the bootloader with DePixel8. It also blocks the ability to fastboot an earlier build.
None of the developers are working on unlocking the Verizon devices running 7.1.1. The group that did it previously publicly stated they were not searching for a new exploit.
OEM Unlock is greyed out in my Pixel XL Android 8.0.0 does that mean the bootloader is locked?
Not if it says this:

More than likely it's a Verizon phone. If so, it can't be enabled and there is currently no exploit available to enable it. I believe the same goes if it's an EE phone.

Correct. If it was not unlocked when on the pre november builds it is no longer unlockable (only if it's a VZW or EE device). The exploit that allowed depixel8 to work was closed and there is no known method to unlock it now. And no, you cannot flash an older factory image to regain the ability.
I have tried everything to unlock my Pixel 2 from Verison and I can't enable OEM unlocking. Please Help!!!
If it hasnt been patched in the latest update, this works without enabling the oem unlock switch. https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=75076844

You can't downgrade.
I ordered a refurb on Amazon and cannot flip the OEM Unlock switch in Developer Tools. Do I need to return this phone?

With the exploit you cannot flip the OEM unlock through developer settings. You have to be on the 1st Jan patch or December patch to unlock the bootloader through fastboot.

Did you buy a verizon variant or the google one?
There was no indication either way. It just said “unlocked,” referring to the carrier. It works fine on AT&T. I think it’s basically a dice roll.
I think I have to send the ****ing thing back and buy it new from Google in order to be sure, which is ENORMOUSLY aggravating. The Verizon device and generic device should be two entirely different SKUs.

On the outside of the box, if you see "SIM ID" as one of the barcodes, that is a Verizon unit. Google and Fi units don't have that since they don't ship with a physical sim card. Instead, they have "ESIM ID."

This is good for people buying in a store to know. I bought refurbished from Amazon and it would appear the refurbisher has no idea what the difference is.

Wasn't sure if it's possible to unlock the bootloader while still being Sim locked. Thanks for letting me know, guess I'll wait till we find a way to sim unlock before doing the bootloader.

Once you pay off the phone. It can then be sim unlocked. The other way is to pay someone to sim unlock the phone.
Hi. As the title says, can all Pixel 6A phone have their bootloader unlocked? I plan on buying a Pixel 6A on Ebay in July (if i get enough money) that has the carrier unlocked. Is there a good chance that I can unlock its bootloader?

I don't have personal experience but I've read that some Pixel phones that are sold on such platforms can't be unlocked.
If it's possible ensure that you buy phones that can be unlocked

I don't have that kind of money. That would be like over $500 CAD.
