I have a Samsung J5 2017 and I really like secure folder
I just find out about EMUI 8 privare area and I was wondering if is possibile tu run app in background and get notification
A great feature of secure folder is that I can add a Skype app into secure folder and I have options to allow notification even when secure folder is locked
For each app inside secure folder I can chose if I want notifications
Apps run in background even when secure folder is lock, is this possible with private space? do I have an option for app notification?

i asked a similar question in another tread but no one helped me
hello everyone. I'm new on this board and would appreciate your quick feedback regarding the private space feature on the Mate 10:
If I create a "private space" and install applications in it (for example email , telegram etc ), would I receive notifications from those applications when the screen of the phone is turned off?
Also could I still use Face Unlock to unlock my phone?
Thank you very much!

I bet easiest and fastest way is to just check it yourself! In case you're the owner of one, of course.

I don't own one, I asked at Huawei promoter in store but they did not know.
Unfortunately you do not receive notifications. You can't face unlock in to Private Space. You can use a fingerprint to unlock your Private Space.
I turned off notifications for private space apps but I will test again with notifications on.
With fingerprint on for both private and mainspace, I got notifications from my private space when the screen is off. Main space notifications won't work when I'm in private space. I wish we could have an option to link apps between the two since my main space WhatsApp hangs up on people when I'm in private space.
When the phone is off and I get a WhatsApp call, the call will ring normally but when I'm in private space, my main space WhatsApp hangs up on the caller.

Do you mean the notifications for things such as when there are updates for apps in the Market, or when your Facebook or Twitter client alerts you to new messages? As far as I'm aware Android in general (not just Honeycomb) doesn't have a built-in system to 'auto-clear' notifications as such, it's up to the user to clear the notifications themselves. It makes sense since you might not necessarily have a chance to see the notification as soon as it comes in (e.g. perhaps you're driving at the time), so you would look at it later. Personally I wouldn't want my notifications to disappear on their own.
a "clear all" function would be great..
annoying to click each "X" at time.
same thing would be perfect for recent apps
have a way to close all, or each individual app. (maybe by adding and X on the app window or by doing a "long press"
Set the indivual apps to not notify you for things you don't care about?
Need this clear function definitely, and a way to get rid of the SD card icon. STAT!
Is there any way I can lock some of my apps with another another app? I have many cousins and they like to go threw my phone and I would like to lock just certain apps like my messages and pictures not my whole phone.
Same here
Sent from my HD7 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
Some launchers let you hide certain apps. For Windows Phone, that's probably not possible. Without some sort of exploit, the design of a Windows Phone app is supposed to be very limited.
On the other hand, you could have an application with a password-protect feature that would store your archived pictures and messages.
I'm afraid that this isn't possible in WP7. You would probably need some kind of replacement launcher to make this happen.
Same problem
SecureIt app for photos
You can always download SecureIt app from the marketplace. You can store private pics there and then delete them from your camera roll, or albums. As for text messages I have no idea.
I wasn't able to find SecureIt app on the Market Place. Has it been removed or non existent anymore?

Is it possible to somehow prevent certain applications from accessing certain folders on Android?
I use Adobe Lightroom that has an option to automatically add pictures to my library. The problem is, Adobe provides very little customisation for what gets added, which means it doesn't just add my phone photos, but also all my screenshots, WhatsApp images, Instagram posts and basically any media folders on my device.
I'm hoping there's some way I can block Lightroom's access to those folders at OS level so it can't even see them. Is that possible?

To block the app per folder at system level is not possible. However, you can try a good old trick to make them invisible, maybe the app won't recognize them after: put a dot before the name of the folders you want to hide, for example: ".WhatsApp"
Try that and let me know
Thanks Raiz. I'll give that a go.
Nice idea but unfortunately, WhatsApp stops recognising the folder and just creates a new one and Lightroom uploads from that instead.
On iPhone, the clipboard retains data only for about 20 minutes, and there is no concept of clipboard history.
On Android, different OEMs have different implementations. Samsung has a very neat clipboard history feature that allows one to copy something quickly and paste it elsewhere.
Here is the problem:
The clipboard retains the last copied item until the phone is rebooted. This allows any app that can access clipboard to see what is there, and may be keep a record of it too in its own data (although I don't think this is possible unless the user manually pastes it somewhere).
HOW CLIPBOARD SHOULD BE IMPLEMENTED
1. Clipboard should be automatically erased by the OS every 20 minutes or so.
2. Clipboard Access should be a setting and users should be able to allow/ deny access per app (just like they can for other permissions like Camera, Microphone, etc.).
3. Clipboard History should be retained in a secure encrypted storage, so user can access it whenever he wants. No app should have access to the history. User must manually copy it each time it is required.
Use ColorNote to retain copies and hyperlinks. Auto backup to SD card or cloud.
I use it to store bookmarks as well.

That requires me to create a note each time, which is not convenient. Hope you're aware of the restrictions with clipboard starting with Android Q. I welcome this move to block clipboard monitoring by 3rd party apps.
If the OS allows to keep clipboard history, it should ensure no apps have access to it without user intervention.

Clipboard works ok on Q... scoped storage sucks. For those who think they can install anything they want rather than being careful what they install. No saving dumb bunnies... they always end up dead.
