rooting VVRS4 ? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S6

Hi,
I just bought a Like new S6.
I thought I was getting a factory unlocked device, but I got a Verizon unlocked phone (for other carriers) and full of bloatware from Samsung and Verizon.
I can still return it, but before doing so, I was looking for options about rooting or installing a different ROM.
it has Nougat 7.0, Firmware G920VVRS4DQI1, Kernel 3.10.61
As I understand, currently there's no way to modify anything in this model, right?
Should I return it?
Thank you for your replies

Help ATT S6 Rooted but still on 5.0.2 OE2

Not much activity on the AT&T sub forum so I'm here for help if possible.....
I rooted my AT&T S6 when I first got it 2 years ago and haven't messed with it since. Still running CleanRom 1.1-OE2 5.0.2 baseband AOE2 ......
I also have another ATT S6 thru work. It's all stock, no root unfortunately. It was recently updated to 7.0 and got the itch to update my personal S6 to a more modern version of Android but don't want to loose root.
Is it possible to update to a version of Android 6 or 7 and keep root since my phone is already rooted and running an old kernel etc.... ????
I guess I'm not really worried about voiding the warranty and/or tripping knox or whatever, since I've had the phone 2yrs I believe all factory warranty has expired right?
Remember it's been a while (almost 2yrs) since I've hacked on a phone so I'm a newb again lol!
Any help is appreciated.
There's no way to use 5.1.1,6.0.1 and 7.0 with root on SM-S920A
And you can't trip the knox counter on SM-G920A

How to do a clean flash of a stock HTC ROM?

Hey there!
The U11 is my first HTC device ever (I had the Motorola Milestone, Samsung Galaxy Nexus S, Galaxy Nexus, Note 2, LG G3 and Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge).
With the Samsung devices, flashing a stock ROM was very easy. Downloading the stock ROM from Sammobile and flashing it via Odin.
How is it on the U11? The Android 8 update is on our doorstep and I want to do a clean flash, but since I didn't root so far, I really want it to be 100% stock without voiding the warranty.
Is there a site to download the (European unlocked) Android 8 ROM when it's available? How can I do a full clean flash (I don't mind losing all data)? Thanks a lot! I know my way around custom ROMs and flashing, but with HTC devices it's somewhat confusing.
Ruu's don't appear for some time after release ota. If you've never modded your phone you have nothing to worry about. If your phone is carrier locked and you want to change the firmware to unbranded you have to root and s-off.
To unroot back to stock just flash the firmware of the current version the phone is on. You can then take ota updates. You don't need to relock bootloader etc either.

What's the safest way to root & possibly BL Unlock my TMobile Galaxy S6 SM-G920T?

I'm new to posting to these forums, so forgive me if i don't add the right tags or do something right...
Anyway, I was given a TMobile Galaxy S6 as a hand-me-down phone from my family, and wanted to know what was the best way to root the device. I don't really care if i trip Knox, but i'd like it to be unnoticeable, and i'd love to not trip it at all, if possible. I don't want to have an "Unlocked" sign everytime i bootup. I want to be able to run Vanilla Oreo (or close to it) without touchwiz as the phone has been getting laggy, and since i already have another Rooted Device, it's not laggy when running Resurrection Remix, which i'll probably end up running that ROM on this phone as well. I've heard the TMobile version has a Bootloader unlock, but i'm not sure how to go about doing that without bricking the device. The reason i'm asking is because the last Samsung device i had, a Galaxy S5, was bricked for a number of months before i was able to flash stock again using a SD Card, and i don't want to have to go through that again with this phone. Should i just follow this tutorial? or is there a better way to flash without tripping Knox? I know how to root & BL Unlock, i've done it on a number of close-to-stock devices, but Samsung devices are a whole 'nother world of trouble that i don't even know how to deal with.
Device: T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S6 - SM-G920T
Running: Android 7.0
Build Number: NRD90M.G920TUVU5FQG3
Baseband Version: G920TUVU5FQG3
I have the same phone ,first go to developer option and allow iem unlock ,reboot to odin and flash cf auto root (choose the one for your modele and os exactly) then reboot

SM-G930T with G930TUVS9CSC1 Firmware, are there custom roms? Have any rom sugestions?

So I just got T-Mobile Galaxy S7 from ebay. Unfortunately the owner kept it up to date or updated it before sending it out. I'm coming across conflicting information on custom roms. I've found instructions on rooting, and have had success. Before i go in to detail on what ive learned so far, is it even possible to flash custom roms with the v9 bootloader? Can I use roms intended for the exynos variants of the SM-G930? Like lineage-herolte. Am I stuck with the T-Mobile rom?
I'm in the same boat; bought it from eBay with the most recent firmware and I'm looking for a root/flash method.
here is a root method that worked for me.

Im waiting on a SM-G930U from verizon to come in the mail before I start blindly flashing to the SM-G930T. I don't want to brick my only phone. I'll updated once ive tried.
Thanks! Have you noticed any issues after rooting? I've heard heat is one of them.
I didnt leave it rooted. I didn't see the point without a rom to put on it, so I reflashed stock T-Moble G930TUVS9CSC1 with odin.
Any update with flashing that custom ROM?
Flashing boot files
Hi just letting you know Be careful I flashed ENG-boot files going around and bricked a my 1st g930vl because it had a U9 boot loader.
I see one or two actuall post but no twrp, so once it gets wiped than it's time to get a new phone.

Samsung S7 (Verizon) rooting and custom rom general questions.

I've recently been given a Galaxy S7 (Verizon branded) phone that I'd like to root and put a custom ROM on. I haven't done this in 3-4 years and based on what little searching I've done it seems this is workable for the S7 phone. I'm familiar (but very rusty) on the rooting and custom ROM process, but I know it will come back to me once I get into it.
I'd also like to have the "SIM card missing" message go away permanently if I root and custom ROM the phone. I will never use it with any service. Can someone enlighten me on what you feel is a good ROM for this phone and if the SIM message can be disabled since I'm never wanting to use it as a phone (on a service)?
You can't get a full blown custom ROM on Verizon variants because of snapdragon bootloader lock, only Exynos has custom ROMs.
You can get root using an engineering bootloader but it depends on what version your firmware is at.
You'll want to check out the Verizon S7 forums for how to do that https://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-galaxy-s7

Thanks Beanvee. I think I'm trying to use a sledge hammer to fix an issue anyway.
I'm never going to use cellular so I was thinking a ROM would enable me to turn off the "No SIM card message" or have some feature built into it.
There might be other ways to do this besides rooting and a ROM. Thanks.
