There's one out there. But yeah, the lack of availability in the US seems to have killed developer interest.

Custom ROM for HH H60-L12 needed!

I am looking for some custom rom (no matter which one) for H60-L12 version.
Any links?

Will there be any development activity on this device. It's not worth purchasing if there is no development activity.

go here and search for L12 or KangVIP
Or use the INDEX thread to find custom ROM for various site listed.
I hope that in the nearest feature there will be a working CM for HH6. Development has already started.
As for other custom ROMs - MIUI is not fully useful now on L12/L12, so i can say that no normal customs are available yet.

Any idea of what's Huawei's stand in sharing the files. The processor is new, so I guess development will take time

Chinese problems

So I bought the Honor 8 in China. This means that when I swipe to the right (from the homepage) I can see Chinese news, instead of international or English. Is there some way of changing that. All I want to know is how to access the settings for that feature.
Thanks

Mine is also having that. I cant switch it to english. I cant also find a way changing that so I disabled it by pinching the screen and click setting and disable HiBoard.
Can you change the source of news or the app to extract news? If you have any specific question that I can help you ask in the Chinese Honor forum, just let me know.

That would be great.
I was wondering, if I could link the news function to another application, I would do that. I searched the device for the source of the news and wondered, if I deleted it, would it provide me with the option of replacing it with another.
If you could ask, I would be most grateful.

Just posted your question on the Chinese forum: http://club.huawei.com/thread-12103532-1-1.html
I'll keep an eye on it if there is any valuable solution.

From an authorized source, it seems impossible at this moment to change the news sources. But a feedback has been sent to the Huawei developer team. Hopefully, a future update can allow you to customize those functions. One suggestion given by them is to use a third party news source and ignore the Chinese news for now.
As the Chinese version of EMUI has more functionality, include more available Camera plugins and better AI designs, I hope you enjoy the default EMUI system, anyways.

Hi guys,
I have the same problem with Honor 9, would be happy to find a solution.
Thanks,
Shahab
You could try to flash the global OTA ROM (i.e. B360 or B385).

Some things in the Chinese forum that were suggested:
-If you haven't yet, turn on your location and refresh the news
- they said news is based on you specifically, like Google now news, so maybe after time it will adapt to your likes.
*To speed this up you could try going into the settings of the news and click on things you like (English news that is)
Sorry, wasn't much else

Is that so easy? I'm a noob in porting. Is it possible to get an Lineage OS 14.1 or 15.1 for example when I have an MTK arm64 device with MT6750 Chipset that stucks on Android 7.0?

Of course :
https://forum.xda-developers.com/chef-central/android/guide-android-rom-development-t2814763
This method isn't called porting but building from source , and that's how (almost) every people who want to port a ROM do .

ROM Testing

Hi, I will start making some ROMs for this device but since I do not trust shady bootloader unlocking services I won't be able to test them myself before publishing them. If anyone with a unlocked bootloader is willing to test my future ROMs, I'd be very thankful.
Regards,

Well, I would be happy to work with anyone because I already built 3 ROMs and all gave me build errors. Maybe it's because I didn't prepare the device tree right, I don't know. I was accustomed to working on a older Huawei device, with far less complicated source code.
@FluFlu
Any interest in helping this chap?
I'm in for testing - CLT-L04 (Canadian-Mexico) all the best.

Need a dev for a specific device

Hi,
I need someone who can build at least android 8 rom for a spreadturm device (Logicom L-Ement 403). I know too many devs won't build rom for a spreadturm device, but i need TWRP and LOS 14.1 to install GSI.
