guys, there is still bugs from screen(which i didn't know yet probably samsung solved it in a later firmware update)
and phone stops responding. i always power on my phone with earphones connected. so, if connected, the phone would just restart, sometimes you have to take the battery of the phone out and put in again(which i feel sorry for that), that's probably another bug samsung solved in a firmware update. 'cause, this rom was based on j1 2016's first firmware(Brazil firmware).
edit of: 28/05/2018
you may want to go to developer options and enable OEM Unlock and USB Debugging mode and NEVER disable it or next time you boot the rom you may get your phone blocked by FRP.
i forgot to say: this is for the SM-J120H, please, don't apply on others j1 2016 yet
I was looking for this for a long time. Thanks.

I`m using it for a while now and seems to work great. But when the screen is off the phone reboots itself. In the official rom that was happening too, but with the screen on. I dont know the cause of it

ok, i was researching where those bugs are coming from and i discovered that were on official rom too, i don't know the cause of it too. but i had to upgrade my phone firmware version to see if at least 1 problem(either the screen bug or rebooting randomly) is solved. probably this rom will be discontinued and i am leaving it as is. obs: i will keep using the 3rd firmware on my phone for 3 months.
How to install?
I'm new to this, how can i install this rom?

HELLO GUYS
I compiled CM7 from newest sources and I would want to see if it works like AOSP
I've not done any tweaking as of yet because I don't know what will work for the R .
Features:
- Theme Chooser (freedom to install any CM7 theme)
- Ability to take Screenshots directly from Power Menu
- Extended power menu
- Allows rebooting normally , to recovery and even bootloader (not applicable)
Anyway , I need a kind soul to take screenshots (you will be credited)

Prealpha Release 1:
- Built from sources as at 21/3/2012
- Does not boot due to problem with the TARGET_ARCH_VARIANT_FPU
Preapha Release 2:
- Changed TARGET_ARCH_VARIANT_FPU
- Still not booting
Prealpha Release 3:
- Built by FranzJesus
- Removed ARMv7 errata patch
- Booting
No boot, freeze on splash screen
Sorry I cannot provide a logcatfile because my sgr won't turn on when usb/charger is plugged. (Once I see the splash screen and release power button booting process stops immediately and returns to charging screen. No such problems on stock though)
m.kochan10, is there any ways to flash other rom after it? if your SGR not "bricked" I'll try to flash CM7 too.
Of course, u can easily enter recovery and flash rom / restore backup in a regular way. It's not a problem at all.
It's just no way to provide a logcat file. To do it u must try to boot your system while connected to usb and this seems impossible here.

Can you try to replace the boot.img in my CM7 with the AOSP's boot.img ?
Herpderp Defy.
EDIT2: Replacing kernel with the one from last AOSP didn't make any difference....actually it did one, namely: Booting process stops on a splash screen but then phone boots into recovery mode automatically by itself.

I just replaced the boot.img from the AOSP release 2 with the one on cm7 and flashed it.
after reboot, it shows the splash screen and then goes back to CWM recovery...
EDIT : Same result when tried with the boot image from release 1.

Would you be kind enough to donate one or money to them ??
If not, nonconstructive comments best kept to oneself.
We are very fortunate to have a forum after much debate and even more fortunate to have kind devs doing this for next to nothing.
Please choose your words carefully in the future.
Cheers !
If there is real interest from a dev and enough of us can donate a small amount, it wouldn't be such a bad idea.

How did you know EmoBoiix3 doesn't have a R ?
I know he has access(he doesn't use it personally though) to one but for his own valid reasons he can't use it for testing.
I assume you have a R, you should to try to cook some custom ROMs forget CM7 to get an idea how many aspirins they might have to take to get one ROM working correctly.
Don't you think its selfless of them to make ROMs for a device which they themselves don't use/have ?
About the time taken kindly don't ask for ETA's on this forum, it will be stated by the dev themselves when it'll be released.
I don't think statements like these add anything to the forum.

Well unless m.kochan10 can
Defy-ing all limits.
I've tried....but it seems like there's simply no way to switch on your device (after you've flashed rom) while you're connected to PC via usb.
1)I switch off the phone and immediately get charging screen (no animation, just a battery pic)
2)Open cmd,
a) type: adb logcat > logfile.txt ,
b) immediately get information - "waiting for device"
3) Press power button until I see splash screen
4)Once I release the power button booting process stops and charging screen appears instead.
No problems with entering both DM and RM. Such problem doesn't exist on stock. I've no idea how to bypass it.
It definitely is a boot.img problem then.....damn this is **** lol
Defy-ing all limits.
This kernel is based on official samsung kernel sources with pvr drivers from maguro and cifs support to make stock roms less lagging/sucking.
It will fix any lag you're having and highly increase performance in games.
Finally you can enjoy your tablet like it should be since the first day. #blamesamsung

First off, you do this at your own risk and I'm not responsible for any damage to your phone etc etc. Also, thanks to it's ties with Sound Alive, it won't work with the stock music player unfortunately but I have tested it with both Spotify and GoneMad and it works perfectly with both.
I'm using this on AryaMod 3.1, so this should mean the instructions below work on any N9005ZSUGOA5 based Lollipop rom.
1) Download and install DarkQueen Kernel here. Thank @hiepgia.
2) Add the line "setenforce 0" (without the quotes) to the end of the file /sýstem/etc/init.qcom.post_boot.sh. This will ensure a permissive state on boot. Thanks to @hiepgia and @filchi756 for this.
3) Download and install the new Viper4Android 2.3.4.0 here. Run, install the driver.
4) Find and freeze/delete Sound Alive. This being present is bad in particular for Spotify, which will always use Sound Alive in preference to Viper4Android.
Reboot enjoy Viper goodness.
For people who want to use the stock player, see @filchi756 post here
For people running AyraMod V4.0, ignore the above instructions, select DarkQueen kernel via Aroma on install (this will automatically result in permissive SE) and please see @filchi756's modified zip here. Don't forget to thank him.
Awesome
Finally!
Oh I am seeking for that. :good::good::good:

We have the same situation. .I think we have to wait for google to release the lollipop sources for note3 and wait for someone to make a custom kernel intended for our phone.
OP updated.
You eventually did it. Well done!
Nice one! Could anybody make it work with the stock Samsung Music Player using this tutorial? It seems this app is deeply integrated with SoundAlive, so at least with KK it was impossible to make it work reliably with V4A. But things may have changed with LL...
Yeah, unfortunately it appears to be the same here. I froze Sound Alive to get Viper working with Spotify, but this results in no effects whatsoever with the stock music player. Personally, this doesn't bother me as there are far better players on the market.

What baseband are you on? You have the same phone model as myself and my wifi works fine. I suspect it might be related to your modem/NON-HLOS.
Overall everything works fine except few bugs from the Darkqueen kernel, like brightness changes sometimes when I lock/unlock the phone.

If you're correct and there is no kernel which is either permissive or can be made permissive then Viper is currently unusable on the Exynos variant of the S4. It's currently impossible to use Viper on an enforcing TW ROM.
~ENHANCED STOCK ROM~
This rom is a project that i made mostly to have the features i want built in to the stock base. Mostly so i dont have to add and delete things from roms i download from others. This isnt a super feature rich rom like some of the others available. It is just what its called, an enhanced stock rom. I hope you guys like it.
ROM FEATURES-based on latest PH2 stock rom provided by @rmarinella
-Completely stock with stock kernel (flash any kernel you like after first boot. NOT while flashing ROM)
-san francisco system font
-rounded recent apps and statusbar notifications
-removed gray tint on powersave mode
-all ongoing notifications are removable (like battery save mode and charging notification
-added google pixel sounds and wallpaper/live wallpapers
-fingerpring unlock after reboot

-adaway build it
-whitepages caller id
-added top ten in samsung music
-300+ fonts

Flash Rom
Reboot (ROM will bootloop once before it fully boots. Be patient)
Profit

CREDITS
@rmarinella for the base
@Tmobile for not bootloader blocking us
@Xda For all the guides and mod sharing
-will be adding more later tonight
BUGS TO BE FIXED
??? Let me know ???
THINGS TO BE ADDED
-advanced power menu (its giving me a hard time)
How to get working SnapchatDownload Titanium Backup from play store
Make a backup of your logged in working Snapchat app
After flashing ROM, restore backup using Titanium backup
Profit
Please note- You can request features if you like but, im not going to try to implement anything that will break another feature. The point of this rom is to have the features that should already be available to us and to have a smooth bug free experience. I will add things as i get time, which i have very little within my line of work. Feel free to comment and suggest and dont forget to hit the thanks button if you download and flash this rom. Thank you and happy flashing.
Nice to see more developers around here, feels like this phone is abandoned, with only 2 active devs here. But why PG1 instead of PH2? Not like there's anything new other than the September patch.

1. Not sure why private mode is not working but I will look into it.
2. VOLTE is working for me I'm pretty sure.... not exactly sure how to test it other than to just turn it on. This is not a feature I care too much about so I will have to look into it more.
3. Haven't tried Wi-Fi calling yet. I will try it later and see if it is working for me and proceed as necessary.
I'm not sure if one of my services.jar mods or framework.jar mods may have broken any of those features. When I get a little time later I will check all these out. Did you do a complete wipe before installing?
Here is a possible fix for private mode. Read the op carefully and give it a try and let me know if this fixes the issue. I'm currently working and only had time to look it up for just a minute. Hopefully this will fix the issue for you.

Thank you very much for this! I tried to change the build.prop to the CM one but it caused my phone to crash and I had to restore a nandroid backup from TWRP to make it boot again. I then tried modifying the build.prop to think it was a Samsung device which made the Samsung Gear app get to the next step of the pairing process but then the app would crash.
I uninstalled the Xiaomi EU ROM I was using and replaced it with the official Global ROM and now everything works fine! I tried both the stable ROM and developer ROM from http://en.miui.com/download.html and both work nicely with the Gear!

And your second experiment shows that it has the right influence with the change to Samsung parameters...

I guess, that there at least is one other parameter, which has to be changed and EU ROM for example could work as well

Can you provide me both of your build.props? The one with it didn't work and the one it worked with?
This would be really helpful!

I think, it is not related with build. prob. I tested all parameter with working one no results. Official rom is working good, but unofficial one is not working. It can be, there is a missing some files in unofficial rom.

You are right! The build.prop is a dead end. I've just installed a stock ROM on my mobile phone, and guess what?! It works! This ROM is basically the same as the one I had installed before (it's based on the same stock ROM revision).
So maybe I can motivate the creator of the ROM to look for the differences.
Solved xiaomi miui and samsung gear manager issue.
I just got a new mix 2 and been confused of how gear manager doesnt work. Once u click on the app it just closed. Been searching for a week and thought i needed to wait for a global rom or something. At last i came across a solution that works for me. For everyone who are frustrated like me tey the following.
1. Click on the miui version 8 times to enable developer option. (if not sure how to do it, try to google it)
2. Atthe bottom, turn off miui optimization.
3. Restart a.d everything works now.
Hope that helps.
i have also uploaded a video and hope that helps.

You are a hero. This worked to solve the pairing issue with Miui 9 on the mix 2 also.
