Hi guys, so i just purchased a Galaxy S8+ verizon edition. I inserted my SIM and the phone fully works . I was not happy with having Verizon's firmware so i flashed an older AT&T firmware. After flashing i restarted my phone and immediately got a software update for G955U1UES2AQL1. But i have not been able to update my phone any further than this and I'm stuck with 7.0 on the dot. Any way i can force an OTA updates so i can get Oreo?

I bought a refurbished Galaxy Note 5 and have used it on TotalWireless for a few days before I noticed the Note 5 should be on BPF4. When I received the phone it was already on BPD4, my wife's phone upgraded from a 5.1.1 firmware and went through the full chain to BPF4 previously. Will an ODIN flash back to a 5.1.1 firmware allow my phone to pass where it is stuck currently?
Thanks

Why don't you just download BPF4 and flash via odin? I'd make sure you didn't receive a fake phone before you flash anything as long as the phones real you can just flash it yourself in odin and setup the network to use the right settings from Totalwireless. The only reason I mentioned a fake phone is because someone else wanted to do the same thing and ended up with a phone that he couldn't find the firmware for because it was fake and after trying to flash Verizon firmware which failed he had no way to go back!
It's definitely a genuine Note 5. I was trying to locate the PF4 firmware to flash via ODIN, but the only ones I could find were several 5.1.1 firmwares and the PD4 firmware I was already on, do you have a link to a full PF4 firmware? Must have had research failure or something, haha. I finally decided to try the Verizon Upgrade Assistant and it was able to update me to the latest PF4 firmware no problem.
Download Samsung Smart Switch for PC.
You won't get OTA updates unless you have an active Verizon sim card.
Using Smart Switch to update is much easier than Odin.
I'll try Smartswitch when the next OTA comes out. I was actually surprised how well the Verizon software worked to fix the issue. In the past I always ignored the software install portion of USB connection. Guess it serves a purpose now.
Hey guys. I was wondering, what is the process for android firmware updates? By this I mean, when I owned an iPhone (any model) after I updated the firmware there seemed to be remnants of the old firmware version and it would cause issues through the phone, at which point I would have to go on my computer, restore to the newest firmware essentially formatting the phone and re-uploading the new firmware on the phone. After that all was fine. Is this necessary on android in order to get a new, clean version of the firmware on the phone or does the update process do this throughout the installation? I haven't had any issues yet with the newest AT&T Nougat update, but I was just thinking about this and figured I'd ask before anything did happen, if it's like my old iPhones...
BTW, I'm on AT&T Samsung Galaxy S7 with Nougat 7.0
I recently bought a new unlocked Samsung Galaxy S7 to use on AT&T. It is running on Android 6.0.1. There is no OTA update coming to my phone. I've downloaded Samsung Smart Switch to my PC and it states the my phone is up to date. Obviously it is not, since it is still running on Marshmallow. I figured out that the phone was originally set up for Sprint, as the model says SM-G930P on Smart Switch. The model number under About Phone states SM-G930a, and is running baseband G930aucs4apk1, csc code ATT. I have verified it is a brand new phone, never rooted. Samsung suggested I go the Best Buy to have the phone updated there. However, the closest Best Buy is 90 miles away and said they do not do the updates in store. I am resisting using Odin to do the update, as I don't have experience doing this. But at this point I'm thinking this is the only option. So far I have downloaded Odin 3.13.1 patched and Samsung drivers to my PC. Can I go directly from Android 6.0.1 to 8.0 without having to install Nougat? Which Oreo firmware do I need for my particular S7? Is it possible/easier to update my phone by installing the firmware using my phone's sd card instead of Odin? I am only wanting to update a stock version without rooting. Thanks for any insight.
Hello,
I need help with my S9+ from ATT. It is still stuck at Android 8.0. I am no longer with ATT and am no longer in the US (Asia now). When i try to do a software update on my phone, it says it is already on the latest update.
How am I able to get the latest update? I have yet to try Odin as I am new to it and am scared that it will brick my phone. Is there any firmware and guide on how to put it to my phone? If successful updated to android9.0, how am i going to get oneUI and subsequent updates?
Is it also possible to make my att phone into a phone that is directly bought from samsung store? So that I am able to get updates directly from samsung?
Please advise. Thanks.
Regards
