Updated to Oreo today. Everything seemed fine but I've noticed that the wifi is now intermittent to the point of uselessness. The wifi will show connected, but will stop passing data after 10 seconds or so. Sometimes it recovers and sometimes it doesn't. I can disconnect and reconnect to get it started again, but it goes right back into the problem in another 10 seconds.
Things I've tried that did not fix the problem:
1. Rebooting phone
2. Rebooting router
3. Forgetting and reconnecting to wifi
And in combo: Forget wifi, reboot phone, reboot router, reconnect
So it's not a settings or "stale" connection issue. It's definitely something in the update that messed up the wifi driver somehow. It's completely useless now; I have to use mobile data all the time to get anything done.
I usually don't like to update OTA but tend to wait till the full firmware is available and I then flash my phone this way its got no conflicts, the latest firmware I can find for oreo is G950USQS2CRB9 so you might find the download and try flashing it, might help, wouldn't hurt anything to do it to see if that will fix any wifi issues.
It not solve the problem and many people have the issue on different forums

Having an issue with my phone, its been a bug for a bit. I do admit I should ODIN to stock, but before I spend a 1/2 day resetting and restoring my phone figured I would post here.
Symptoms:
Lost ability to Auto connect or connect to WiFi. I must reboot whenever I connect to a new signal.
EXAMPLE:
I Leave my house in the morning, WiFi is on & connected to my home network. I arrive at school, I must reboot in order to connect to the WiFi. All of the connections show from my house, it does not auto scan nor show any current connections
I have tried programs from the market nothing will refresh the networks.
Any suggestions, or should I ODIN see if that helps if not warranty my phone?
Running KitKang now, but seemed to have happened somewhere when upgrading throughout 4.3.1
Downloaded a program off the market FXR WiFi and problem is solved.
Ever since my phone got the XNPH38R update I've been having an issue with wi-fi
If I connect to wifi it works fine but as soon as I lose the wifi signal it can't seem to reconnect to the same wifi without rebooting the phone. Its especially annoying when I walk to get the mail or come home from anywhere.
I've tried manually connecting to the wifi after being disconnected in the android wifi settings menu but it doesn't connect until I reboot my phone.
I'm running the 64GB oneplus one on t-mobile in the usa.
Any suggestions?

I've had this issue on CM, except it'd work when I manually connected back to the wifi - I believe it's an issue when the phone goes to sleep it's failing to resume wifi connections.
The only thing I could suggest is try downgrading back down, or doing a clean re-install, and reporting this issue on CM's jira, so they can fix it.

I'm on OMNI now, so I can't really help you out, but do try unticking that 'wifi optimization' option, or perhaps using a tasker profile to turn off and on wifi whenever the screen display turns off and on respectively (at the trade off of loosing connection, so you won't be able to download stuff while the phone's off).
i have the same problem..
Hi, since the nougat update I got last week, my phone is having problems connecting to Wifi.
It will connect fine, then if I leave the wifi connection I have and go out, when I return it won't connect. It can see the router, but refuses to connect at all. I then have to re-boot and it connects fine (a real pain when wifi calling is essential due to poor signal and I'm hopeless at remembering to reboot when I enter a new wifi zone).
This is happening at both home and work, so I don't think it's caused by the routers. Before the update the wifi connection in both places was absolutly solid. Really frustrated, has anyone got any ideas?
I'm currently "repairing" the software yet again to see if that helps, it's a bog standard non-rooted E6653 on EE
Try doing factory reset.
Yes try a factory reset.
I'm on stock Nougat and no such wifi issues.
However I did experience wifi connection (disconnection) issues on Marshmallow.
Don't restart your phone. Don't do a factory reset.
This is what you should do: Turn on Flight mode, then turn it off again. Wait for a few secs, done!
This saves you for some of the daily pain, while you are awaiting Sony's permanent fix. Unfortunatelly, Sony is persistently refusing to tell you how and when, would you believe it ...
I have exactly the same problem with my Z5, after the latest upgrade. Will try the airplane mode trick and hope that Sony will provide a patch.
I have the same problem. Turn on and off flight mode works.
same problem here
I updated a family members Redmi 6 to MIUI 11 and it's developed a WiFi issue. that I can't seem to fix.
Basically, I turn on WiFi and it connects like normal but then several seconds later it will disconnect, but then it'll immediately reconnect as normal. It will do this connect then disconnect in a loop without ever staying connected.
I've restarted the phone, reset the WiFi settings on the phone then rebooted and reset my router all with no luck.
My Moto G7 Plus along with a laptop, several google home devices and a few other WiFi stuff all work just fine so I can't seem to figure out what's wrong.
The only thing I've not done yet is a full phone reset, I would need to do a backup before I try that but not sure what is the best way to do it.
Here is a video of what my issue is.
I've also posted on the MI community but hoping someone here can help me out.

Anyone having issues with Wi-Fi dropping all the time after latest update? When I say "all the time" I mean like every couple of minutes.
All network settings reset.
MAC set static.
It's the only one of maybe 30 Wi-Fi devices in house with the issue.
Wi-Fi AP rebooted.
Phone rebooted.
Phone is maybe 1 metre from the access point most of day.
Nothing seems to keep it stable.
The phone's unusable and I've only got a couple of weeks to return it if this doesn't get fixed.
did you flash the new firmware or was it ota
