Hello guys.
I bought a Huawei Watch 2 but I'm having some issue with it, after the update to Oreo/wear Os. I connected my watch with the phone (I've an iPhone SE) but the spotify app doesn't work (when I try to open, it say "no connection" or something like this). Also I can't connect my strava account to the wear os application: it redirect me to the phone to complete the login and authorize it, but after that it open a link to wearOS's site, and nothing happens. The weirdest thing is that the Strava application it's called "common" instead of the real name. So, there are these two problems: no application for spotify and no connection with strava, that are the main reason I bought the HW2. I've tried almost everything, also an hard rese, but nothing canghed. Please help me. Thanks.
P.S: Please, don't ask me why I bought an android wear with an iPhone, it's a matter of taste.

Hi. Sorry, I did post this question on another thread, but seeing this is the Q & A, I would like to post again. Last night I upgraded to 5.0. My battery is being sucked dry because my phone is trying to connect to a wearable which I do not have (yet lol). I know I can shut off the bluetooth, but I would like to know how to shut the service down. I have gone into Google Play Services and stopped the wearables search, but this did not shut it down. Is there a way to get rid of it?
Try uninstalling Wear until you actually have a wearable to pair with it.
Thanks for the response. I did uninstall the wear app, bit it still looks for the device. Is that something built into Google play services that i need too shut off somehow?
Hi, I am having trouble figuring out how to sync the exercise data from huawei health app from the watch to phone. Based on what I'm reading, I'm supposed to download 'Huawei Wear' app, pair the watch to that, and data should sync through 'Huawei Health' app on the phone. My problem is that the watch would not pair with the 'Huawei Wear' app. It kept on telling me to use Android Wear and sync it through that. If I did it that way, my watch still isn't listed inside Huawei Wear app, thus syncing the data isn't possible.
Can anybody drop in some knowledge on what to do? I get that I can disable Huawei Health altogether and just use Google Fit, but that's not what I want to do at this moment. Any help is appreciated, thanks.
I don't know what is wrong in your case. Anyway... you need 3 apps on your phone: android wear, huawei wear and huawei health. If you can't get huawei wear to recognize the watch I recommend you to reset the watch ("settings"-> "system",->"disconnect and redefine") and reinstall the apps on the phone. I had to do that once and it solved some sync problems I was having.

Thanks man. I had all those apps, but pretty much what went wrong is that somehow, huawei wear wouldn't connect to my HW2 if I kept my LG Watch R connected to my Android Wear. Once I removed the LG watch, it started to work. Very odd. I still like using my LG watch R from time to time too, so I said screw it and just uninstall the Huawei products altogether.
my problem is that i need constantly to open the app and scroll down in other the sleep, heart and other data start to sync to the app in the phone. I had multiple devices first the Oneplus 3 and now the 6t and always had the same issue
GM all. I had been having trouble with my GW4 LTE (non-classic) not recognizing my home WiFi password, when it had been for many months. I have a Note 20 5G and I'm on the Android 12 Beta. So I wrote to the Beta community and he said to delete the Gear Wear an on the watch, reinstall from the Play Store, and I mistook it for saying to remove it on the phone. Now, when I try to reconnect with the GW4, it says it will delete everything and pair as a new phone/watch. The auto backup unfortunately DID NOT save ANY backups. I have a ton of watch faces that I bought (I know I should be able tor reinstall from Play Store), some watch faces that I created (I may be able to get back), but other data that I know will be lost.
Anybody know of a way to re-connect but preserve the data. There are ways to do it with Wear OS 2, but NOT Wear OS 3. My Tizen watches were not affected and I was able to save all my Samsung Health data to my GW3. Any help, thoughts, would be greatly appreciated.
hello, yes that would be good. i reinstalled wear plugin and wear app due to latest bug on plugin app now cant connect same phone to watch. it stuck at 80-90% during setup. Dont wanna reset the watch before getting my data. No solution?
I finally gave up and reset the watch and paired it again. All is well now. This time did an immediate backup after I tweaked everything I wanted. I will try to now remember to back up at least once a week. Happy Holidays everyone!
It all has to do with the "Galaxy Watch4 Plugin". If you're having any issues syncing between phone and watch. If you end up having to reinstall it then you'll have to reset your watch too. Make sure you backup!
Hi, folks. I have a couple questions regarding extra watch faces:
1) How many faces can be installed on the watch at once? If I remove some built-in faces, does that make more room for extra installed faces?
2) If I disconnect the watch and pair it with a different phone, do installed watch faces and apps persist, or are they deleted? The "disconnect" message says that all personal data will be lost, but I'm not sure if that includes installed watch faces and apps.
My reason for asking is that I'm considering factory-resetting an old phone, not installing a SIM card but using my current phone's wifi hotspot to install the AppGallery and Health apps on the old phone, in hopes that that will insulate the old phone sufficiently for me to fool it into thinking that I'm in a supported country and allow seeing the watch faces and apps that I cannot access from the U.S. However, that's pretty inconvenient, so I'll want to install as many watch faces as possible during that process to try out; also, if pairing the watch with a different phone deletes installed watch faces and apps, the whole exercise is pointless.
Thanks for any replies and especially any suggestions for being able to install watch faces and apps without having to physically visit a supported country.
A follow-up on this plan. It did work, sort of. I was able to use the old phone to create a UK-based account by keeping all location services turned off and using a UK temporary SMS number for verification. That enabled me to get watch faces and apps and install them on the watch.
However, when I went back to my main phone, deleted and reinstalled all the Huawei apps, logged into the account I created on the old phone, and attempted to connect the watch, the app and phone would not allow it, saying that they were different accounts and I needed to factory reset the watch in order to connect it. I tried turning off location services on my main phone and creating a UK-based account, but it still knew I was in the U.S. and wouldn't show the watch faces and apps in the Health app.
I'm definitely getting closer, and seeing the new watch face I installed on the watch when connected to the old phone really motivates me to make this work. Any suggestions will be very welcome.
And a final update on this: I eventually was able to get the watch faces and apps to be available on my main phone without needing to factory reset it. The method involved turning off all location services, rebooting after removing the SIM card, and using the wifi hotspot of a second phone that was VPNed to a UK-based server when creating the Huawei account. I'm not going to spend the time to write up the details, at least partly because I'm not sure that everything I did was actually necessary; hopefully this thumbnail description will be enough for anyone else in the same situation who's sufficiently motivated to replicate the results. (I will say that I'm much happier with the free watch face I installed from the gallery than I was with any of the faces that came preinstalled.)
Bump.
Not sure how it is on the GT3, but for my GT2 I just used my regular account on both my iPhone (main phone) and on an android phone, just downloaded the "custom" Huawei Health app to get custom watch faces. No factory reset or nothing, just connect to the other phone, install watch faces, reconnect to main phone.
Your steps sounded very complicated for something so easy. Unless it’s wildly different for the GT3. I came here mainly to see if my method would still work for the GT3 as it does for the GT2 (I ordered a GT3 Pro today, as it was on sale and I’m looking to upgrade).
i found thousands of free HQ watch faces here - https://faces4watch.com/downloads/huawei-watch-gt-3/
so after 6mounth using this watch suddenly watch disappeared from wearable app and it wouldn't connect again always stuck on 80% or 90% of the process i searched many people faced this issue and had to reset the watch to connect it again and i'm using it on huawei phone (as before i was using) so wearable wont let you connect and you need to force it by samsung and now that i'm connected i cant signing my google account to my watch to restore my apps and watch faces now this google signing problem is there for all wearos users and many people face this problem i tried resetting the phone and watch several times using different google accounts and even tried to do this in a samsung device still the same result any one have any experience or idea about this? me and many others cant use their watches
FIXED!!!
UPDATE : After search for a long time and couple of factory resets and every single way that ppl said it fixed it for them it didnt worked for me until i saw someone had the same problem like me and only connecting to a Canada vpn fixed it for it sounded too random but i tried and it worked so if you have the same problem and other ways dont fix it try this first connect to a canada vpn then start copy account from wearable app on phone
I have a Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra but ran into this issue when I first bought my Galaxy Watch4 Classic. What I ended up having to do is delete the Google account from my phone all together. Then setup the watch. Once I got the watch setup on the Galaxy Wear app, I reloaded my Google account on the phone, and all worked fine.

i tried almost all the ways that fixed some people problems like redoing multiple times disabling screen locks turning wifi off clearing data and caches removing g accounts almost everything out there but still there is too many people with the issue remaining idk why they make it so hard to do this when i could just put in my gmail and password in my watch simply
bhello same problem for 3 days, it annoys me crazy!!! I so regret having bought it, autonomy level is zero and now this bug with Google Frankly is too much
Hello. I had the same problem. After googling for longe time i found out it was a dns related issue.
Link (unfortunately only in german)
Long story short, as i could not figure out how to set up my router, i got it running by simply using mobile data instead of WIFI.
EDIT: I am not sure if i disabled "Private DNS" setting in Android as well
tu Still no response from Samsung? Does anyone know how to fix the problem? Me, I've tried all of them and I'm at the end of it

yes still no luck. i noticed after many reset factories my watch still connects to my wifi ap without required password and most of the people who cant solve this problem are using android 9 even on samsung s8 and s9 series
oh yes exactly, very strange the fact that the watch automatically reconnects itself to the wifi and that without any passwords and all that without any restoration!!
JI really hate against Samsung, because no solution is offered anyway went crazy. As usual, the customers remain in a dead end without any help from the manufacturer.

its either the watch is not wiping the data completely and the issue still remains or they are aware of this problem and cant solve it and even worse they wanna force ppl to upgrade their phones cuz all the new devices can fix the issue but the older devices running android 9 cant fix this and i searched lots of posts on samsung and google forums no official staff answering to the ppl only other ppl trying to help out. i mean why you should need to copy google account from the phone? why not just log into it with your freakin watch
It's not just Android 9. My OnePlus 10 Pro can't sign in. The Samsung sign in send you to a web browser to press continue to sign and just puts you in a death loop of continue button until failure. If you skip this part it fails to log in to Google account and then the wearable app has a bleeping seizure. I've tried resetting the device, restarting both phone and watch, wiping data from app uninstalling and reinstalling all needed apps and plugins.... I think this is a server side issue from Samsung bc when I go to Samsung website after creating my account I'm unable to to link my Google acct just a non functional set up button on the screen... At least my OnePlus watch can tell time this is just a useless wearable until patch is released
