Hi all
When emergency occur, most of mobile tracking application in the market require individual to take out their phone, and trigger a panic button to call for help, however, when facing emergency, we often found individual does not have the capacity to call for help, as user:
in panic mode
being force in unwanted situation
force to turn off their phone.
What is there is a service that will automatically trigger for help without any action from user? Even user force to turn off their phone?
secQ.me is a new way of protecting individual (especially for woman and children) by ofter them a "virtual" guardian angel that watch over them, should they being force in any unwanted situation, or in emergency, our service will automatically notify user's friend and family via email and SMS. User's friend and family could also track their latest location, voice message, picture (if user has register any picture, such as Taxi Driver, or someone she just meet) from our portal.
We like to invite XDA members to try out our app, go to Android Market, and search "secq.me", and download
Here's are the steps to activate and use our services
1) Register your account from the Android App or our Portal at secQ.me
2) An activation email will send to your email account, click the activation link
3) Once activated, login to our portal, and configure your emergency contacts, and your SNS (Facebook & Twitter) setting
4) Verify secQ.me Android app by key in your email and your register event pin
5) Start using the services
BTW, all new sign up account will have 10 sms credits, which is use for notification purpose..
Please note that at this Moment the SMS credit is only valid for Malaysia Mobile Number (btw, I am from Malaysia).. We are currently working with a international SMS GW provider to support SMS to most of countries
Appreciate your feedback and comments about our service
Thanks!
James Khoo

Hello all,
WYMO (Watch Your Mobile Operator) is an Android friend that helps you find the cheapest mobile plan available for you in the UK market.
Our application is in beta testing phase and we are looking for volunteers who would agree to use WYMO's services free of charge and to give us invaluable feedback on their experiences.
If you are interested in giving our app a try and you have Android 2.3 on your phone please go to wymo.co.uk or search for Wymo on Facebook to get to our app's page, where you can find a link (as a noob I can't link here now) or drop a mail to [email protected] and I'll send you the apk.
If you’re a tester don’t hesitate to share your questions and ideas here in this thread or via the email address above. Testers will be asked in a few weeks by a questionnaire as well.
Details about how our app works:
The app is counting incoming and outgoing calls, SMSes, MMSes, data traffic and roaming as well (due privacy reasons it only watches the first 4 numbers of phone numbers). Then it searches for the cheapest plan available on the UK market by analysing the data gathered. The user will get an email about the better offers.
To gather sufficient amount of data the app needs a few weeks monitoring of usage. This happens automatically as the process runs in the background showing a green logo on the status bar.
On the first start the app asks for a few data: only a valid email address and the name of your operator is required. Gender, age, education and postal code are optional.
The main screen has 6 options:
Show report shows the measured usage data.
Discount numbers is where the user can add those numbers which it can call with discount prices (this helps us to be more accurate)
Number portability is where the user can set those contacts who have different prefix than their operator (it helps us to be more accurate as well).
Upload data to server option uploads the measured data to the server.
Settings leads to the app settings.
Purchase leads to the Market’s in-app payment system, where the user can pay to get the cheaper offer’s list. The user will get an email with the list of offers and their prices. For beta testers the service is free.
Should you have any questions, feel free to ask here or via email.

I used it once to initiate a conference call. It worked for setting up the call but the sound quality was pretty terrible. All of the participants on my call were within the United States, so I don't know how it works internationally.
From the website, here's the data they collect:
Information we collect and how we use it
We may collect the following types of information:
Cookies – When you download CrowdCall, we send one or more cookies to your phone or other device. We use cookies to improve the quality of our service, including for storing user preferences, improving search results and ad selection, and tracking user trends, such as how people search.
Log information – When you access CrowdCall services via a browser, application or other client our servers automatically record certain information. These server logs may include information such as your web request, your interaction with a service, Internet Protocol address, browser type, browser language, the date and time of your request and one or more cookies that may uniquely identify your browser or your account.
User communications – When you send email or other communications to CrowdCall, we may retain those communications in order to process your inquiries, respond to your requests and improve our services. When you send and receive SMS messages to or from one of our services that provides SMS functionality, we may collect and maintain information associated with those messages, such as the phone number, the wireless carrier associated with the phone number, the content of the message, and the date and time of the transaction. We may use your email address to communicate with you about our services.
Location data – CrowdCall offers location-enabled services. CrowdCall may receive information about your actual location (such as GPS signals sent by a mobile device) or information that can be used to approximate a location (such as a cell ID).

well ,I have used this app a couple of times recently. For a free calling app Its pretty good only if u wanna compromisehttp://forum.xda-developers.com/images/smilies/frown.gif with the sound quality and limitation of 1 hour. I mainly use it to call overseas frnds which is quite costly if ur using a standard cellular device. http://forum.xda-developers.com/images/smilies/mad.gif The main advantage I enjoyed is that U dont need any other client software for the clients ,http://forum.xda-developers.com/images/smilies/good.gif .Just cell number is enough. Regarding the info they collect , I am not sure about that. Haven't faced any issues regarding that.
still ,good enough app if u ask me! http://forum.xda-developers.com/images/smilies/cowboy.gif
Hi,
I have developed a small app, which will turn your mobile in to a SMS gateway (Incoming and Outgoing). Actually I have built this software for one of our web app, which send SMS on user registration or when there is any bill due.
Bulk SMS from web interface
Advance group handling i.e. create multiple groups with 1 million members each
API support (for outgoing and incoming SMS). You can integrate this gateway with your website or desktop application to send SMS on trigger basis. Our API is platform and language independent, therefore you can use it with any programming language like JavaScript (node.js, jquery), Ruby on Rails, PHP, ASP.NET, ASP etc.
Two-way SMS i.e. incoming SMS processing. Check the response rate of your campaign.
Missed Call Service
Delivery Reports
You will be charged only for delivered SMS.
Post-paid billing by your carrier.
Your brand, your number.
Add multiple numbers (SIM/Phone) to build a large cluster.
Send SMS even on DND listed numbers if, they are registered with you.
SMS queuing (i.e. if your mobile can not connect to internet to fetch the data than we will queue the messages till it gets a connection.)
Runs as a gateway i.e. it will work in background on your mobile without interrupting your day to day tasks.
Full control on message sending.
Application can be downloaded from market://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.znisms.bulksms
Once you downloaded the app and registered an account just reply to the welcome mail and I will add a lifetime license on your account (it's free for one month only for a normal user) as my thanks to XDA community from, which I have learnt a lot.
API Details
<Sorry, Not allowed to post links>
Parameters:
userid: ID created on ZNISMS.com
apikey: 32bit API Key (provided by ZNI)
sendto: Mobile number on which message has to be sent.
message: URL encoded message. Max 160 characters.
device: device ID from, which you want to send SMS, in case multiple devices are registered with us.
Please note this application (while running) consumes battery at very fast rate therefore it is recommended that you keep your phone plugged in while using this app.
Login from mobile.znisms.com to manage groups and send SMS.
Feel free to ask for features whatever you feel useful for your app or service.

KnownCalls is the new ad-free and absolutely free call blocker for Android that helps fight spam calls while respecting your privacy.
With KnownCalls your phone will automatically reject calls from numbers not in your Phone book. It will save you time wasted on answering spam calls, and make you an uninteresting target for fraudsters.
Works against telemarketers, anonymous or hidden numbers, robocalls, spam or other unknown calls, and various kinds of scammers.
Click here to download from official website (extended version with SMS muting)
Click here to download from Google Play (no SMS muting)
==NO INTERNET CONNECTION REQUIRED==
The app doesn’t use external resources. It works solely with your device’s Phone book so your privacy is safe with KnownCalls!
Perfect for those who care about their digital imprint.
==WHY KNOWNCALLS IS BETTER==
1. Modern spammers usually call from different numbers each time, so adding each number to a block list might prove ineffective – next time they might use another number. KnownCalls blocks all unknown call numbers so it's not a problem any more.
2. Rejection of unknown callers is instantaneous because KnownCalls uses your device’s Phonebook only. Other call blocker apps usually work with a delay so you might be among earliest recipients that spam calls still get through to before being flagged as spammers.
3. 100% free. No hidden payments.
4. Absolutely no ads.
5. Extremely easy to use. 1 option to enable/disable blocking.
6. KnownCalls does not collect or send personal information or information on your phone calls anywhere - unlike other apps that use spam databases in the Internet and send your calls there too.
7. Installs well on almost any contemporary Android device.
STOP annoying robocalls or buzzing from call centers, telemarketers and fraudsters that always distract you when you're busy, that wake you up in the middle of the night, or intend to scam you.
Finally you can enjoy the silence – and be sure that trusted callers still get through!
Recommend KnownCalls to your family and friends – let them feel the tranquility of life without spam too!
==HOW IT WORKS==
* Download KnownCalls call blocker app from Google Play or our website and install it on your device.
* Turn on filtering with 1 click.
* Done! All unknown calls coming from numbers that are not in your Contacts or Favorites will be automatically rejected without bothering you.
==SPAM PROTECTION FOR EVERYONE==
The KnownCalls app is a perfect call blocker for
* Parental control: protect your kids by creating a whitelist of trusted numbers, and block calls from any other phone numbers.
* Public people: stop the flow of distracting phone calls while keeping accessibility for known callers.
* Businessmen: let KnownCalls automatically filter out spam call center buzzes, while still allowing calls from your Contacts.
* Senior protection: make sure scammers don’t get to take advantage of your vulnerable elderly by blocking calls from any unknown numbers.
==RECAP OF KNOWNCALLS==
The KnownCalls app is the unique combination of privacy protection, easy functionality and availability. It is free of charge. No Internet accessibility required!
KnownCalls does not gather, store, send or share your personal information.
For businessmen, politicians or public people with their phone number in public display. KnownCalls blocks unknown calls leaving you accessible by the rest of your contacts - customers, suppliers, authorities, etc.
Use KnownCalls call blocker if you are worried about the rise of scammers that could fraud your seniors or children: block all unknown calls from numbers not in the Phone book.
Accumulated effect: Even if you are assaulted with spam calls now, using KnownCalls will make you an uninteresting target for call centers over time.

@FelenaSoft Any plans of creating a root version of this app to 'give it' superpowers?
We do plan to have more features (like schedule or wrong number announcement instead of just rejection) in future releases but probably none of them would need root anyway. All the more reason to use KnownCalls!

Complete and out-right rejection without notification or announcement is preferable.

Thank you for ideas!
If we're talking about notifications and announcements to a KnownCalls user, there are no announcements of rejected calls (no beeps or whatever) there now. The only notifications about rejected calls there are are entries in the phone's Call Log (or Journal, or Recents, or Dialer, or wherever they list your incoming/outgoing calls) - in Android 10 and 11 rejected calls can be hidden from it with a 'Hide from Call Log' option; in Android 12 and up they can't for now - but we're working on it.
If we're talking about notifications and announcements to a caller (aka spammer), they will get a busy tone from KnownCalls. But cell carriers sometimes offer this option to forward calls to another number, and you could use a non-existing one to have the spammers hear 'Number invalid' auto response and leave you alone.
Anyway, these all can be done without root.

[Feature Request] Complete Blocking of MMS on-demand.
Would be really cool if it could say a message such as
"The mobile number you are trying to reach is currently switched off".
It would be even cooler if it could in addition to the above and optionally say
"Please leave a short message with your name and purpose and we will have the message delivered!
It should then take a 15 or 20 second clip and send it by WhatsApp or Telegram or maybe even KnownCalls (whichever is configured) as a compressed audio clip.
Looks like a nice simple app, thanks for developing it!
How about adding private/hidden numbers to the blacklist?

It should already be working. Any numbers not from the Contacts/Favorites are blocked, including hidden, private and what-not

Thank you for the idea! Our team will give keep it in mind in KnownCalls' further developments.
Right now you can forward the 'blocked' call (any missed call, actually) to a non-existing number which will get the "Wrong number" voice message. You can do it with the help of your cell carrier, please contact them for conditions and cost. Besides, some carriers and third-party services offer a 'virtual secretary' thing that will speak to the caller instead of you and even send you a text transcription of the call.

I just found yall on here and sure glad I did. I rather french kiss a rattlesnake than get calls from the spam callers. I hope I downloaded all alright cause Im not to swift in the smartz trying to learn this tech stuff due to my age. I was born before a 8 track to say-lol
I downloaded the info to my phone and my wife tried to call me from her number that I have it added to my contacts but,it shows her number blocked and it wont ring on her end-it just goes direct to my voicemail. Can you please tell me if I have something wrong? I did uninstall the app and gonna reinstall it and try it again. I sure appreciate all the help.
Hey I guess I am blind as a bat. She reloaded it and then said I hit something called a default but ,it works good now. It recognized her number and it came through fine. I sure hope this does it,fingers crossed.
