Galaxy s7 stuck in bootloop and can't flash stock/recovery and unable to recover - Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions and Answers

Hey guys, hoping I can get some assistance on my phone which I've hit the limits of my knowledge on. Basically after rooting and trying to go back to custom I think I've corrupted my recovery as well as boot partition as the phone is boot looping and I'm getting the following message when trying to load the recovery:
Recovery is not seandroid enforcing
I've tried using ODIN to flash stock firmware as well as TWRP however as soon as I tell ODIN to start it reboots the phone and then disconnects and fails. I've even unticked "Auto-Reboot" under options however this makes no difference.
I just want to get my phone booting again and am sure if I can just restore and replace the recovery partition I can get the phone working again but am unsure what else I can do at this point?
I'm unable to connect via ADB or Fastboot as the device reboots before I get that far but I know my pc is seeing the phone in download mode. I've tried multiple USB cables including an official Samsung cable and has made no difference. I've tried ODIN 3.12 and 3.10.
ODIN 3.10 states the following logs:
<ID:0/003> Odin engine v(ID:3.1100)..
<ID:0/003> File analysis..
<ID:0/003> SetupConnection..
<ID:0/003> Initialzation..
<ID:0/003> Set PIT file..
<ID:0/003> DO NOT TURN OFF TARGET!!
<ID:0/003> Complete(Write) operation failed.
<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 1)
and ODIN 3.12 shows:
<ID:0/003> Odin engine v(ID:3.1203)..
<ID:0/003> File analysis..
<ID:0/003> SetupConnection..
<ID:0/003> Initialzation..
<ID:0/003>
<ID:0/003> FAIL! (DeviceInfo)
<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 1)
If I could find a way to install the recovery files then I should be set to finish this off but my Google-Fu is failing me and I'm unable to find a solution to this issue now.

Hi,
Is your phone an original Samsung?
Maybe you get a fake. Where did you get it? Check your phone model number (sm-g.......)

It's official, got the box and everything.

Seriously wish you guys would take your time when this happens do you have the right twrp recovery? just flash that in odin then put a custom rom on your phone zip file sd card then once you have a custom rom on then go into download mode on your phone then flash all the file from stock rom in odin

How can I flash the recovery when the phone reboots as soon as I click start and it fails? Or are you saying its doing that because the TWRP isn't the correct version?

press the power button volume down and home key all at same time before it can reboot

Update:
I tried the suggested version of TWRP, then flashed an S7 ROM, rebooted into download mode and flashed stock and now have a fully working phone again!
Thanks dan110000 you really saved my bacon there!
Sometimes it's the little things that can catch you out when you spend so long making things too complicated.

this process isnt working for me with the new BL fused 6 error. I tried to flash Unlocked OS Stock rom and it sent to recovery boot and no recovery installed. I flashed the Correct most recent stock os for phone which is G930p it successfull flashed but still in a recovery boot loop with no recovery installed. The FRP lock is off and secure boot is enabled. BL is not unlocked. When i go to flash in odin it says unsupported dev type

kernel not Seandroid Enforcing/NAND WRITE START

Got a phone from someone like this,
Originally Powered up but stated "kernel not seandroid enforcing" tried to odin to install new rom which mad it mad :crying:
now Wont boot up stuck on T-Mobile logo and Odin no matter what i try to install gets stuck at "NAND WRITE START"
Any Ideas?
Use Odin to flash Unikernel and TWRP and use TWRP to install a new ROM.
Threads with this problem turn up quite frequently, for flashing a ROM with Odin doesn't really work:

Hell no, 25 minutes...i had similar issues when i did it.
It's done in literally a few seconds, so something is wrong.
I'd download Odin and TWRP again and do a fresh install; make sure the files are OK (check md5) and they are the latest version.
Also, check if you have the TWRP file for your specific model here.
There's something in above how-to about this issue:
If Odin gets stuck at setup connection, then you need to do steps 4 to 10 again. For this, close Odin, disconnect your device, remove battery, insert it back after 5-6 seconds and then start from step 4 again.

Removing the battery=hold vol down+power for 7sec. till the phone powers off; enter d/l mode again and retry.
Last, use the original USB cable and try a different USB port.
Good luck! don't get desperate,, it will run again :good:
Just use smart switch while in download mode. Re-root if you want.

Soft brick S3 SPH-L710 Fix without losing data

Hello guys as you can see this is my first post , so here it goes:
Do you have to be rooted to use TWRP Recovery with Odin on a soft bricked phone (Samsung
galaxy S3 sprint sph-L710) and make and nandroid backup directly into your pc and them
restore the backup from your pc to your phone
and them flash the boot.img that was created during this backup?
Would this save my phone and all the data? will everything remain the same
even if im doing the backup after the phone went bricked?
also if i can do the nandroid backup on a soft bricked phone , can i just save it to my pc , get the boot.img and flash it without having to restore the backup?
Thanks
1. Yes, Root Is required for any Custom Recoveries.
2. No
You should use an RUU to reset your phone, and retry rooting

Phone is soft bricked , do i need to root after installing TWRP? but if i root them all data , and family pictures, videos, messages are going to get deleted, this is my main concern right now.
Just trying to figure out how to get it back up without having to wipe everything.
So is this possible? create a nandroid backup on a bricked phone , save it to your pc and just flash the boot.img without having to restore the backup or root your phone? someone please point me into the right direction , i almost have a week without phone and reading making research and still cant get it

Chances are, you won't be able to save your data, I'm not aware of any method to get data off of a soft bricked phone.
I soft bricked mine once, usually it means your pretty much screwed. If anything. Try plugging it into a computer and seeing if there is any files. If not.. use an RUU and try to not be to upset about losing everything.

I'd alsor ecommend using dropbox from now on to backup photos. Its what I do.
Also, keep a backup on your computer... Backups of backups man.

If this is the case so why many ppl are saying that they just flash the boot.img thing and the phone goes back to life with everything intact. A lot of ppl recovering their data from this soft brick problem. I know is possible i just need someone with enough experience to help me out with the questions that i stated above.
So anyone? somebody? just clear up this one for me
even if the phone is bricked, can i root it , install wprt recovery , make
nandroid backup , flash new stock rom to unbrick and them restore the backup? does this sound like a good idea?
They also say that you can flash the stock rom without wiping , and this can also
fix the problem without losing any data? is this true? dont need to be rooted for this?
Again, you can't root without any firmware.

ok , seems like i am a super noob cause this is the first time im dealing with this so
i was in the TWRP recovery official page and went to download it for my specific device and it says (No Root Required) . So this means what?? what does this means , cause u would normally understand that u can install this custom recovery without being rooted , thats what i understand when it says "No Root Required" , or can you clear this up for me? thanks
"TWRP Install (Requires TWRP 2.8.4 or higher already installed):
Download the latest TWRP image file (.img) from the download link and boot TWRP. Go to install and find and select the Images... button. Browse to the image that you downloaded and select it. Choose recovery and swipe to flash.
Odin Install Method (No Root Required):
You will need to download and install Odin on your PC. Once you have Odin installed, download the proper .tar file for your device from the download link above. Power off your device. Turn on your device using the proper key combo to get into download mode and attach the device to your computer via a USB cable. Use the PDA tab or button to browse to and select the tar file that you downloaded and flash the device.
Note many devices will replace your custom recovery automatically during first boot. To prevent this, use Google to find the proper key combo to enter recovery. After typing fastboot reboot, hold the key combo and boot to TWRP. Once TWRP is booted, TWRP will patch the stock ROM to prevent the stock ROM from replacing TWRP. If you don't follow this step, you will have to repeat the install."
If you have ODIN you dont need root.
-If you don't have ODIN then you need root.
---------- Post added at 02:14 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:12 PM ----------
If what you have posted is correct. You have accidently removed the ROM on your phone, which means you have no Firmware. So you dont have anything to boot onto except the bootloader. But if you have USB Debugging Enabled, you should be able to PUSH a new ROM on to the device.
---------- Post added at 02:15 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:14 PM ----------
But your issue is that you need a Stock-Android ROM for TWRP to patch, which you dont have.

The phone goes into download mode , i didnt do nothing , i just restarted and it gets stuck on the samsung logo.
So if i have odin in my pc , i can go to download mode, install custom recovery which in this case is TWRP, make a nandroid backup , decompress the file , extract the boot.img and flash it with odin? or after making the bckup
just flash the stock rom and them try to restore it? which one sounds like a better idea?
It will always get stuck on the Logo, cause it can't load up any software because it doesn't have any on the phone.
And yes, you can do that as far as im aware.
Otherwise just flash a stock rom and restore.
Or just find a RUU and re-root your phone.

Just download from sammobile your full firmware and unzip it then flash it with odin and you are good to go! Will not wipe anything :highfive:
(You can also flash now a custom recovery and do a nandroid backup but it's not needed since you can just unbrick your device easily!)

Try flashing a 4.4.2 firmware....
And make sure you have a good cable and use the latest odin version 3.10 and up

I have no Operating System on Galaxy S6

HELLO!
I recently had issues with my Galaxy S6 after "unrooting it".
In short way as possible:
1. I have Rooted my S6
2. I have decided to unroot it
3. I have downloaded stock rom from Sammobile (correct one yes)
4. The flash failed leaving me with some errors.
5. I have flashed twrp recovery and it fixed the problem.
6. Today I have turned my phone off and it got stock in boot loop
7. I tried clearing cache. Didn't help.
8. I cleared internal storage (Factory reset) and my phone didn't turn on at all... I went into twrp again to find out that there is literally nothing on my phone apart from the TWRP recovery...
9. I have access to Download Mode/Recovery mode .
I have tried flashing stock firmware on the phone and it didn't work becuase Odin is giving me errors all the time. Please don't bother providing me solutions with Odin as I have tried literally everything, different usb ports, versions of Odin etc etc. didn't work.
Is there any way to fix this? Maybe Custom Rom CM13 ?
CM13 is not stable. Try to copy a custom rom that is stable and specific to your device via adb.
Else try Odin.
Maybe try from somebody else's pc with the latest version of ODIN. If required download the stock rom file from sammobile again; mayb some errors have crept in while downloading.
Trust me; ODIN is the best option.
Check whether your computer is up to date and whether usb drivers are properly installed. Try with ODIN with newly downloaded rom file
Don't use usb 3.0 ports on Your computer. They either won't work or mess up the data that odin sends to Your phone. And flash stock rom again.

Just flash a pit file..nothing else. Power off.. Go to recovery..wipe data.. factory reset and you are OK
if you want to do a clean install you have 2 solutions first with smart switch second you download wrong firmware and with wrong i mean no for wrong model of s6 but wrong number!!!your csc must have 3 not 2!!!for example i had this firmware on my phone G920FEUR3COI6 and i tried to flash this G920FEUR2COH2 and i got a bootloop because of this section EUR2!!!for sure download this http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/57680/G920FXXU3COI9_G920FBTU3COJ1_BTU/ and you are good to go!!!
Its more easy a fast just to flash pit and to factory reset or otherwise bootloop
Download and open Smart Switch on your PC
Then, connect phone at download mode to your PC
And, rescue the firmware via Smart Switch.
If you decide to flash a Pit file, you should be able to find the right one here.

Sorry, for not replying. I seemed to get it working after flashing my firmware, but I still got the error, so I went the same way as before and flashed twrp and it seemed to work, however when I turn my phone off and try to turn it back on then the bootloop happens and I have to go through the same process all the time which is kinda time consuming. I am just downloading this firmware that you have linked me and try to flash it hopefully with no errors  and it will bring my knox back

I am trying to install TWRP onto my S6, however everytime in Odin it fails.
I've done a fresh wipe of my phone, got Odin v3.10.7 installed on my pc with twrp-2.8.7.2-zeroflte.img.tar and twrp-3.0.2-0-zeroflte.img.tar (tried both incase the newest one didnt work.)
I put my phone into Download Mode and the plugged it into my laptop, and then chose the correct file under the AP section of Odin.

I notice in the top left it says in green letters: Custom Binary(RECOVERY) Blocked By R/L
Tried restarting my phone etc but nothing seems to change it.
Can someone help?
Cheers
Okay so I managed to get Odin to work for the TWRP file - however it hasn't changed anything in my recovery menu...
I read on https://twrp.me/devices/samsunggalaxys6.html that I need to disable Fastboot as it wipes over the TWRP when booting... so after googling how to do that, people say to go into power settings and turn it off. But there are no settings for it.
How can I disable fastboot so that the TWRP will stay installed?

No official TWRP is compatible with the MM bootloader on the S6 yet. I imagine this is your issue?

I used CF-AutoRoot to get the initial root, then flashed a custom 3.0.2.2 TWRP (available from the official TWRP thread... Look for the idlekernel link). Works great
Bigbiff seems to have an official MM version in the pipeline, so just flash that when it's released in the next month or two
Oh, and you can just flash a custom kernel that comes with a root

So if I use CF-AutoRoot that will modify the recovery menu so that I can use any ROM I want?
I want to use http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...xtrestolite-deodexed-mod-edition-1-0-t3094423
So I'd use CF-AutoRoot and then in the new recovery menu select the zip files from the above link?

CF-AutoRoot only installs a temp recovery to flash SuperSU. It then reinstates the stock recovery, so no.
Root it with CF-AutoRoot, flash the custom TWRP that currently works with MM, make a back up, then go mad

See if holding Volume down & Home & power until the phone reboots twice (Don't let go of the buttons until it has rebooted twice) hopefully it will enter download mode after the second reboot
From there you should be able to flash stock again and fix the loop

so I had a stock rom after messing around with rooted roms. the stock one i got from sammobile and had the install drk first problem but i flashed no-verity-opt-encrypt.zip in twrp recovery. after that i wanted to make a backup so when I wanted to get to the twrp recovery it got stuck in a boot loop so i got it into download mode and flashed stock firmware and that resulted in the problem above.
as long as my phone is working again I dont care about whar to do but I would prefer a stock rom.

Did you use CSC with ODIN to force a factory reset after the flash? (HOME_CSC will not reset the device, so can leave problem files behind)
There is a possible solution here but you'll need TWRP again

fpr lock is causing the problem is there a way to turn it off without the phone booting?
man, I have this same issue. Used the stock firmware for 6.0.1 to downgrade from stock 7.0, and now it is stuck in a boot loop with the logo. So I did the Vol Up+Home+power to get into Recovery Mode but now it is just is a boot loop saying "Recovery Booting". Using Odin 3.12.3 , S7, first only AP file... then tried AP + CSC (not Home_CSC) and same issue.
I can still get to Download mode. Shows Official for the firmwares. Warranty Void 0x0 , and FAP Lock ON
---------- Post added at 11:55 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:49 PM ----------
I just noticed that while the original instructions I found said only to use AP and then this thread said AP+CSC , that ODIN 3.12.3 says to do BL+AP+CP+HOME_CSC , so I did that... and it worked!
---------- Post added at 11:56 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:55 PM ----------
what?!?! It is asking for my password to decrypt device, so I put in my password. And it's NOT taking that as the password!

Well apparently all instructions are a mashup. So then I research this issue and I need to do a factor Wipe, which is fine. I just wish I had found 1 full set of working instructions for downgrading. But it worked and I am not on stock 6.0.1 for my T-mobile S7. Still shows Official for the firmware, Warranty Void 0x0 , FAP lock ON.
Just flash the whole stock rom and your problem should be fixed. You will loose your non-backed up data but its an small price to pay.
Download an stock rom for Your variant (g930f/g930fd/g930a/etcetc one of them) and extract it. Using SamFirm tool is advisable as it"ll allow you to download the firmware really fast.
Then flash using odin 3.12.3 the combo: ap/bt/cp/csc (not the home_csc).

I have already done this and i dm vertification problem. i can solve that problem if it would just let me get twrp.
Have you tried this procedure?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4r0D2CJNwF8
1) Download any rom you want.
2) Flash the just the bootloader and reboot.
3) Boot again into download mode and flash the BL (again)+AP. You can also flash the CSC and CP in this step.
4) The phone will reboot and go to recovery mode (the stock one) and perform the system update.
5) After the system update the phone will reboot. If you get stuck in a bootloop, boot again to recovery mode and do a factory reset (If you can't get to the recovery menu at the first try reboot the phone again into recovery until it lets you use the recovery menu).
