Hi! I'm having a big issue with my s8+ since I updated it to Oreo (it was the second day since I bought it): it doesn't make calls. Well, in particular calls start after some time (it can take 5 mins, 30 mins, 1h etc.), so if you try to make a call and it doesn't start, maybe 1h after the phone calls and you don't know it (so the interlocutor when picks up the phone hears you doing other stuff than talking to the phone). To successfully make a cal when you want, the phone needs to be restarted even several times. This problem happened also to a person in a telegram group; his mother has an s8+ brand vf italy and she doesn't have problems, so maybe branded phones aren't affected by this issue. This problem is also related to another one: the clock on the notification bar stops randomly, while clocks in the notification curtain, lock screen and always on display work normally. Also this issue is very big, one time I was late to the bus stop because I was checking the clock on the notifications bar.
Probably those bugs are caused by oreo itself, because I have them also on pixel experience oreo 8.1 running on my redmi note 3 pro. What can I do? Thanks

Hello,
Sorry to post this here. I've been following a few threads about x10 mini pro custom roms for weeks now but after signing up I am not allowed to ask my question to that specific rom there. It said I should post it here first.
I am using the [ROM]MiniCM7 Pro - V7x - GingerBread (2.3.5) by paul-xxx for more than 2 weeks now and it works great, I even have a battery life of about 14 hours now instead of 6 after I stopped using launcher pro and used the standard adw.
But I have 2 serious problems.
The first is that I cannot always unlock my phone. I know I have seen this question a lot but in my case the screen just stays black. There is no slider that does not want to slide. Just a black screen. If I slide open the keyboard I see the lights go on some times. When I connect via usb I can open a shell (via putty) and every thing seems up and running. Just the display is now showing anything.
When pushing buttons and sliding the keyboard several times I sometimes get the screenback. Some times just have to wait 5 minutes or so.
Does anyone have any clue what to do about this?
I tried killing the launcher process but that did not help, it just restarts and even if it did help I do not always have the phone connected to usb.
The other question is about missing calls. I had several missed call alerts while i was sure I was next to the phone all day.
Today I saw it happening for the first time. (because I got a missed call sms and right after that a call on the land line which was the same person who called my cell)
So I called my phone (after letting it go to sleep), used top to see whats going on. I saw the process android.phone.com starting to use more cpu (but not 100%) and I even saw the screen get activated (after 10 seconds or so) but no sound and then it went to voicemail and the phone went dark again but the sms with the missed call came in right away.
Is there a solution to this or are there more people have problems with this?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I am new to xda, I hope I found the right place for this problem.
I have a phone which is running android 7, the phone is supposed to be a Samsung s8, but I bought it second hand and it seems to be a mix of many things
Anyway, the problem I am having is that for no apparent reason sometimes when a call is received the phone does show the incoming call and does not ring. The call appears only as a missed call.
The way to reset that works is to delete the cache of the phone app. But that works only for a few minutes and then the problem recurs
It doesn't seem to be consistent, however sometimes it seems like setting the phone to do not disturb or silent mode triggers this behavior, and then even after returning to normal mode, the calls do not appear.
Another thing this that it seems like in safe mode I do not have enough this issue
I am not %100 sure about that either
Any idea what setting could cause this problem?
Thamk you to all who have ny suggestions
I just bought a used S8+ and set it to factory settings. Installed all apps and it looked to be working fine. Now I have 2 issues which I can't troubleshoot myself sk any help would be appreciated!
1. The time in the notification bar freezes and updates in irregular intervals (sometimes it freezes for mroe than an hour). If i turn on or off automatic time it refreshes. The time in the widgets and on my lock screen are correct!
2. There is a HUGE delay in receiving SMS messages! It takes up to 30 minutes to receive an sms, which isn't that great when you want to verify your number in some apps....
If you can help with any of these problems, I'd really appreciate it!
I had this problem, not with my S8+ but with my S7 after looking everywhere trying every app, cleaning, resetting i came to the conclusion it was my carrier who messed it up. Maybe flash it with a stock rom and see if that is going to fix the problem.
Thanks for the info, I was thinking about something like that. I'm going to try and see what it does without ny sim card. The SMS seems to be the sms service and app that were in power saving mode.
Ii hope you will figure it out, always it's the best if you open a thread state what you exactly have example
i have SM-GF955F - Oreo 8.0 - CRB7 - ROOTED
The troubleshooting can go smoother
Hi There,
I got an really annoying problem and can't find anything on the web or this forum. Probably due to the common keywords....
My problem, since 1,5 months (can't remember if this is after an update) notifications stay on screen for 45 seconds! App notification but also android system notifications (the grey ones beneath the screen). For instance, picking up my phone from the wireless charger the phone says "Draadloos laden onderbroken" this is the dutch message for saying the phone has stopped charging wireless. Then opening let's say whatsapp, this notifications hovers 45 seconds above the text input position.
I can't find any setting that let's me adjust the screen time duration of notifications. Rebooted the device and also had a new update few days ago, but the problem stays. I'm running Android 10, One UI 2.0 with kernel 4.14.113-17806689.
I feel really stupid not figuring this seemly simple thing out by myself.
Gr,
Erwin

Have you found this setting?Settings\Accessibility\Advanced settings\Time to take action
Instellingen\Toegankelijkheid\Geavanceerde instellingen\Tijd om actie te ondernemen
Not sure if it will solve the problem, but it seems related. This setting is hard to find and you might not remember having changed it. No 45 sec option though.
OMG, this did the trick. #Nunspeet #hero

That worked for me for some reason mine was set to 2 minutes. I don't remember changing this setting. Ooo well it's resolved now.
Thanks
Notifications are a disaster on this phone. It kills apps in the background too aggressively, also (excluding apps from that seems a little hit-and-miss). I love customization, but Android 10 and OneUI have made a real mess of this.
My current problem is when I get a call, the popup flashes only for a second. Everything was so much simpler on my old rooted phone!
When I get a flood of notifications, my phone freezes up. Either it's Notistar's fault or there is a huge issue with the notification system.
Just got my update this morning! Checks in at 2.7GB. Just installed so we'll see how it goes!
Alright!... Just started downloading it this morning. Any issues to report?
im no longer getting vibrations with certain notifications such as messages. will try resetting later when i have time
Some issues with Android 12 & Android Auto. A couple times I had reboot the phone to get it to connect to my car's head unit. Also, no notifications for text messages or emails from AA to the head unit an issue that has been reported extensively in the Google AA Community.
No issues for me. I only use AA on my phone to connect to a non-Android car system (Toyota) and I'm still getting notifications, auto-read texts, etc. Battery life might actually be a bit better as well, nothing major, but a few percentage points better on a typical day, so that's a plus.
It's garbage.. I'm sorry
Having an issue with not being able to tap anything in the first 1/2" at the top in apps. OS items work fine but nothing in apps. have to rotate to tap and there are a couple of apps that don't rotate. shrinking to 1handed mode doesn't solve the issue
