Front facing camera with flash takes a while to take picture - Google Pixel 2 Questions & Answers

Why does my front face camera take a long time to take a picture when I have flash on. When I click the middle button to take picture the white flash shows up on the screen and stays there for 5 seconds almost before it takes it. Is there something in the settings or is anyone else experiencing this

I haven't had an issue. I notice Motorola "Droid" users, especially Droid X, their uploads aren't flipped the proper way.

It looks like the camera only wants to take pictures in landscape mode
cuz like i said the menu always pops up like if the device was in landscape mode. but the buttons/icons on the camera app flip the proper orientation.
Anyone else care to chime in, it seems like its an issue with the galaxy S phones...well i dont want to say its an issue but you get what im saying
EDIT:Just had a friend send me a pic from his fascinate from the vertical position and when it showed up on my phone it was sideways
EDIT2:when picture is sent in landscape mode it displays correctly

[Q] Quick Camera pic function?

After having my G2x for a few weeks now, I've rooted it and applied the leaked gingerbread update while waiting for the official release.
However, I have noticed occasionally when pressing the power button to turn on/off the screen, I hear a camera shutter noise. The first time this happened I was confused as I hadn't had the camera app open at all. I went to check my recent pictures, and viola! The phone took a picture, even though I had just shut off the screen with no camera app on in sight.
Tonight, when I was randomly browsing through the apps on my phone, I went to the gallery app and noticed the few random "quick" shots I took with this method that I cant seem to reproduce, and among them, I also noticed a number of screen captures(all taken while texting). I did not notice the screen captures taken, nor do I have a clue how they were taken.
TL;DR- Does the G2x have a hardware key combination to take a quick camera picture even if the screen is off? And, How are the screencaptures taken? (I have no apps/mods installed anything relevant to those two, except the GB leak)
If you press the power button and the home button at the same time it takes a screen picture.
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA Premium App
Exactly...that must be what you're doing. Keep your fingers away from the Home button when accessing the power button to avoid taking screenshots.

Artifacts on screen after unlock?

I use a black background for both my lock screen and home screen. Just this morning I noticed that sometimes after I unlock my screen, or hit the home button and return to my home screen after being in an app, I get artifacts that pop up on my screen for a second or two. Usually on the left hand side.
They arent truly "artifacts", it looks as though its images of the icons on my home screen flashing up on my screen for like 1-2 seconds then dissappearing. I have also seen a little checkerboarding pop up as well
This is sort of hard to explain through text. I guess I'd have to record a video and post it here, but I'm at work and cant do that until later. If anyone knows what im talking about or has had this problem, what did you do to fix it?

nexus 5 camera bug

Hi all
Noticed a little bug on my nexus 5 when taking picture, just curious to see if anyone else has had this..When i take a picture and it goes into the top right hand corner, if i then press it to view the picture, and decide i want to delete it, sometimes not always, id say about 1 in 15 goes it freezes and the screen goes jet black. I cant touch on the screen and the only way i can get it to work again is to simply press the on/off button and it comes back on again fine.
Its no biggie just wanted to see if anyone else has had this?
I take about 5-10 pics daily on my nexus and I must say I haven't faced this bug even once!
Try clearing data/cache of camera app and see whether the problem occurs??
If it doesn't, just ignore it as it happens once a while

Is there a way to make the camera faster?

Not sure if this is an issue with phone or software but I think it's the phone as I tried multiple camera apps and even OSes. (graphene, Android 12, now on Calyx)
Basically, the camera is slow! I press the shutter button, either physical or touch, and it takes a good 2-3 seconds to take the picture. By then whatever I was taking a picture of is long gone. I only realized this after a walk in the woods, almost all my pictures were of the ground then I realized it's because it was not taking the picture until several seconds after I took it.
My previous phone (DTEK50) was way faster than that. Is there a way to make this one fast as well?
