Hello,
I updated do 8.0 and I have a problem.
Lets say I have unread SMS. There is number on the SMS icon. When I open the SMS app (not the SMS inself, just the app) the number isnt showing any more, and also the SMS text in notification bar is gone. How can I change back like it was used to be?
Thank you!

My SMS inbox is empty. However in the folder tree, there is always one unread message in the SMS inbox displayed.
That is really annoying, because also my today-screen (skin of phonealarm) always shows me one unread SMS, but there is none...
Can anyone help me, how to set back the couter to zero?

Are you using the stock sms app or have you changed it?
What do you mean with "stock" SMS?
I did not change anything. It is the SMS-Chat Version of WM6.1 (bepe ROM for Touch Cruise)
Is there any alternative for SMSDRfix by Saman-cz? It does perfectly what it should, but it's annoying when sending out a group sms.
If you would get 30 sms'es, you'd get 1 notification on the first with the content of the sms. If you still have unread messages and get another sms, you'll see '10 new messages' or something similar with the SMS notification. If you go to the inbox, the popup for the new messages is gone. But now for the delivery notification, take for example 30 people to whom you will send an sms to, you'll get 30 delivery notifications and 30 popups which can only be deleted manually and one by one. This notification popup can't be disabled through the Sounds menu in the settings cpanel. If you mark the delivery notifications as read in the inbox, the popups are still there.
I read in older topics that Saman wouldn't make changes anymore to his utility, which I find a real pity. So my question now is if it is possible to remove all those ugly notification popups from SMSDRfix at once or if there is an alternative to this utility that actually works without causing headaches.
(the popups are gone when a soft reset is performed, but that's not always a good solution)
thx
i found smileysms, but that doesn't do it either.
also 30 popups for 30 sms delivery notifications..
ANYone?
Don't know of an alternative, but If the problem is with group sms's you can send some using an app called GroupSMS
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=307296&highlight=GroupSMS
also, delivery notifications can be disabled from Messaging/SMS/Menu/tools/options
click on SMS\MMS and unmark Request Delivery Notifications
if you want to receive the notifications AND be able to dismiss them all at once, i don't have a solution for you, sorry.
Add new features to SMSDRFix by Saman yourself!

Saman mailed me the source files of SMSDRFix (SMSDeliveryFix)!
I use smsdrfix to show the name of the recipient on the dr. But it removes the delivery date/time which I also needed. Any alternatives that can show both recipient name and date/time? Thanks in advance.
I have a bespoke program for reading the sms inbox and I just want to set to zero the sms Unread : checked with the value of SMS Unread but it is not working , and also notification is always there
so please if you could point me to the program that is called using the Menu Notifications and the the right button (Tout Eff. in French , I think it is All Clear in English) and could you tell me how to mark the sms as Read without going into the inbox
Hey guys,
So my phone ran a bunch of app updates last night (including one to ChompSMS, my default text app) and now I'm not getting the little popup window or notification icons (on the status bar). I've tried uninstalling Chomp and clearing its data (and the stock SMS app's data) and using the default messaging app with the same result. I tried using another text app (Textra) and that didn't work either. Gmail notifications still work (that's the only email app I use).
One thing I'll note is that sometimes when I have a couple text messages the notification icons will appear only after I go into Chomp and open one of the new messages. It only seems to work when I have multiple unread messages.
I'm running MOAR 5.0. Any suggestions? no problems with this (or anything) until now. I'd prefer not to do a reset or restore since I spent a lot of time customizing things.
Update: seems Verizon Messaging had an update that messed with the notifications for other text apps. Notifications for Verizon Messaging still worked when enabled. I had been using it for group messages, but now that ChompSMS has it I've just frozen Verizon Messaging. Everything is back to normal now.
I am using a Nexus 5 (with Android marshmallow).
I am having trouble showing the correct number of unread messages on the message widget.
I use Evie launcher instead of the standard Android one because I prefer the extra options offered.
There is a setting in the launcher Unread Badges.
These setting got the phone and email widgets working correctly but the SMS message widget (Texta) now shows 99+ all the time.I tried other message apps and they all show 99+ after install and launch. Texta worked properly after installation but shows 99+ after reboot.
Does anyone know of a SMS Message app that works correctly regarding the widget showing the correct number of unread messages?
Thanks
It is obviously a difficult problem to resolve since no one has replied.
In the meantime I have installed Nova Launcher Prime that has reasonable Unread Badge controls. These options allow the number unread SMS's, unread emails and unanswered phone calls to be shown on the respective icons on the home screen.
With the Nova homescreen launcher I now have my icons working fine.
