No not technically i restore from google once im back in the phone

I'm experiencing the same problem with my pixel 2 xl. Only have gravitybox and native clipboard modules. Did you ever find a solution?

Try running this line in terminal (su):
Code:
cmd package bg-dexopt-job
If that seems to fix the crashing, try creating a Tasker task that runs it every morning when you're not using the phone, e.g. around 5 or 6 am.
If you're having issues with Facebook Messenger crashing, you'll need to go into the /data/app/com.facebook.orca/oat/art/ folder and delete the base.odex file. Alternatively, you could add the following line in a second task that follows the first:
Code:
rm /data/app/com.facebook.orca*/oat/arm/base.odex
Running those two tasks, in that order, will dexopt all apps as well as delete Messenger's base.odex file should it reappear.
If you have other apps that continue to crash after the dexopt, you could try adding further tasks which delete their corresponding base.odex files after the dexopt process. Just be aware that any apps without a base.odex file will have a much slower initial load time, and that not all apps respond well to having their base.odex file removed. Proceed with caution.
Android's built in maintenance jobs include dexopt, but it's impossible to know precisely when it will execute, hence the task forcing it followed by the task deleting the base.odex file. Also, timing it so that it runs within an hour of waking up and removing the phone from the charger gets it as close as you can to ensuring that your own tasks aren't rendered moot by the system's built in maintenance tasks.
Some people also have luck using the ARTDeoptimizer Xposed module for apps that crash with Xposed installed, but I am not one of those people. It seemed to have no effect and I found I had much better, if not perfect luck just removing the base.odex files myself manually or via Tasker profiles.

Native Clipboard may be your problem. That is one module I had to give up on as it seemed to constantly cause crashes in incompatible apps on Oreo.

[FIX] Avoid system hang/reboot when deinstalling apps with xprivacy enabled.

Hey guys,
until xprivacy gets fixed, if you deinstall a user app the system will hang and eventually reboot (if you dont do it yourself alrdy).
The workaround I found for this is to convert the app to a system app with titanium backup and then do the deinstallation.
Shouldnt have any downsides, just some extra clicks.

TYVM, I was experiencing this a few weeks ago & couldn't figure it out. I did end up stop using xprivacy but never made the connection. GJ!
What version are you using? I just installed xprivacy on my Note 2 and I noticed random reboots
until I removed it. I'm running xprivacy 1.10. I wonder if I should move it to system app?
Any side effect of moving xprivacy to system app? I did not see any mention of it?
Thank you. I like xprivacy but it keeps rebooting I can't use it.

Tronsmart TS7 (aka Glacier TS7) installs random apps without permission

I have a (4GB) Tronsmart TS7 (some times known as a Alps Glacier TS7). It's a Chinese MTK6589 based phone running Android 4.2 purchased from geekbuying.
For the most part the device is stock, there are next to no pre-installed apps apart from the usual, and the only additional apps I have installed are: Playstation, Steam, ColorNote, Shuttle+, Root Explorer DI Radio, Chrome & Gmail
The problem I have is that there are apps appearing on the device that I am not installing. So far it has been the same set of apps that appear:
Mobo Market
UC Browser
TrustGo Security
DU Battery Saver
337 Game Master
GameCenter
(there may be more)
These apps don't start appearing right after a factory reset, but start to arrive 1-2weeks later. They also seem to be packaged similarly; when I say packaged I mean opening them seems to prompt with the same menu & style (accept licence etc) before it gets to the main app. Also, after you open the app from the app drawer it then creates an icon on the desktop. Maybe opening it actually does the installing?
The apps themselves seem to be legit.
I have factory reset the device (twice), and changed my Google password but they are still appearing. They don't show up in my Play store history so they must be coming from elsewhere.
My main concern is that if it is downloading things without my permission, what might it be uploading ? Not to mention wasting my 3g data etc.
So I have a few questions:
Should I be (really) worried?
Is there a way to monitor this? eg connect to a wifi hotspot and packet capture the network traffic? or maybe use a process monitor (the ones I've tried so far haven't shown anything) to see if there is some sort of script in the background?
Can it be stopped?
Thanks in advance, I would be interested to know if anyone else has/had this problem?
I have the same problem.
I haven't tried flashing some other ROM yet, but I guess that is the only way to get it to stop installing those things.
Have you actually found any other roms to install?
For anybody's information:
You may have noticed how you always end up with a 'Tronsmart.mp4' video file appearing in your gallery app. This is damn annoying since it appears twice, once on the internal and once on the external SD card. There is an '\system\app\CopyTest.apk' file which creates both of these. Should be safe to delete it and thus prevent the file(s) appearing
I have actually decompiled this apk. It works as a service that runs when MEDIA_UNMOUNTED or MEDIA_MOUNTED is invoked, and does absolutely nothing else.
I have the same problem, those random apps installing and the video always in my gallery. I have managed to stop tge apps by using a firewall and allowing only my apps that i want to use the internet. I havent found a solution though to fix the problem. Probably tronsmart is spamming its customers...

What Firewall did you use? I might be able to use something like that to pinpoint the app that's causing this.
Sory for the late reply. I am usin "android firewall" free from google play store.
USB debugging disabled stopped it on mine
edit: not that easy, wasn't enough. made some cleanup by disabing/removing some system apps. seems to work so far although there are still some strange events like superuser crashing and right after that system downloader.apk reappearing. haven't seen any other junk coming back
these are the apk's i removed:
systemupdateassistant
systemdownloader
omacp
mtkbt
midtest
galaxy4
fusedlocation
engineermode
engineermodesim
cds_info

Making The Most of Root on Fire Tablet 10 (tweaks/apps/modules/hacks/optimizations)

Hi guys. Now that we have root for the 2017 fire tablet HD, let's share the best apps, tweaks, mods, modules, optimizations etc to get the most out of the tablet.
I just rooted my HD 10 and think this thread is a great idea.
The first thing I usually do after getting root is to install AdAway to block most ads:
https://f-droid.org/repo/org.adaway_56.apk
I want use Nova as the default launcher. Is there a way to disable or uninstall the Fire launcher completely with root? The Hijackthis utility kind of works, but once in a while the Fire launcher will still show when pressing the home button.
Update: I found out how to disable the Fire launcher following the instructions from this thread here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/hd8-hd10/development/tips-tricks-root-t3310569
It appears that many of the tips for the older gen HD 10 tablets also apply to the 2017 model. The thread I mentioned in my previous post has instructions on how to disable Fire launcher and Amazon service that are safe to disable via adb. Also I recommend installing Google Play and disabling OTA services using the script in this thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/hd8-hd10/general/tool-disables-ota-lockscreen-install-t3715320
I also installed some of my favorite root apps such as Titanium Backup and Kernel Adiutor. Also grabbed modded Youtube with no ads (non-root) here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=71133073&postcount=3
How do we disable all Amazon apps that aren't necessary to get the fastest, smoothest user experience?
Is there a way to change the lock screen and replace it with one that supports pattern unlock instead of a PIN?
Is there a way to permanently disable all Amazon system apps that may launch at startup and run in the background? I want to disable them to get maximum speed and performance from the device. Maybe what we could do is find an app that shows us what's currently running in the background and using up ram, and then figure out a way to permanently disable and or Uninstall them.
These are the system processes that I found running. There are quite a few Amazon-related processes here. Have a look.
The Amazon-related process that I've identified are:
Wake Word Service
System UI
Amazon Metrics Server Application
Fire Content Manager Service
Here Positioning
Precog
Identity mobile platform
Fire Amazon platform
Fire Amazon communication services
Audio stream provider service
Amazon webview metric services
Whisperplay daemon
Documents
Content support manager
Amazon device settings
Crash monitor
Documents
Read the posts in this thread (started by DragonFire1024) to get an idea about what can (not) be uninstalled.
We just gained root, and we do not yet have a reliable method to backup/restore partitions. I would urge you to err on the side of caution and, if you really have to, just control the apps that autorun. You can use the startup manager in ROM Toolbox Lite or All-In-One Toolbox to find out what's running at boot.
Before you start, backup your apps+data using TiBu.
Have you tested the recovery procedure detailed in this post? What's your fallback option if your 10 HD gets bricked? All things considered, a reasonably snappy tablet running some bloat is better than a brick you can't recover from.
These are the apps that I currently have installed on my fire tablet. Feel free to share your apps, too!
Guys,
So I'm using the free version of nova launcher, and one thing that I don't like is that I don't get app notifications. For example, if I get a like on Facebook or a message on Facebook messenger, there's no notification alerting you. Usually you'd see like a "1" on the app icon signaling that there's one new message. Apparently that's because I'm using the free version of nova launcher and the paid version has this functionality built in. I don't want to buy the paid version only to have it not work. Can anyone confirm that the paid version of nova launcher will give me notifications on the app icons, or is this just not supported on fire OS?
*UPDATE*
I think these things are called "badges".
I have rooted my Fire HD 10 2017, installed SuperSU and now of course it does not pass safety net anymore
As I was playing some games from Google Play on the tab, this kind of annoys me, but is no dealbreaker at all.
Has anybody made some experience with hiding root / magisk or something else on the Fire HD 10?
i had posted this information on the main 'rooted fire hd 10 7th generation' thread already but thought it was quite useful regarding nova launcher, playstore and using a child profle:
if you want to use use widgets with nova launcher, just convert nova to a system app. the easiest way i found to achieve this is using the link2sd app.
to use google playstore in a different user profile (e.g. parent profile with child restrictions, as i don't like the freetime child profile) you can also convert playstore to a system app (and clear dalvik dalvik cache, also with link2sd). it showed up in the fire launcher on the other profile right after a reboot. just needed to log in again.
maybe you can use it on a freetime profile as well like that (launch it from GoToApp), but i won't try it out now.

I will test this out today and let you know if I got it to work. The only thing is, I don't have a child profile, I have a secondary adult profile.
Once I got root I put adaway, titanium backup, modded pandora. I also put on the viperaudio. Can do that by adding busybox via https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ru.meefik.busybox&hl=en
and you'll also need to use something to set selinux to passive for viper to work. I did this by installing Kernal Auditor https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.grarak.kerneladiutor&hl=en
I used Kernel Adiutor to emulate init.d and used the below script and it works to make it permissive on boot and viper driver shows enabled to confirm it
#!/system/bin/sh
setenforce 0

The play store hack didn't work for me after following your instructions regarding link2sd. The play store doesn't appear on my other login account.
hm, that is strange. i did two other things before i had root:
trying to install the 4 apks on the other profile, but only the first 2 could be installed: com.google.android.gsf.login.apk and com.google.android.gsf.apk.
and i entered the following command via adb in the main profile:
adb shell pm grant com.google.android.gms android.permission.INTERACT_ACROSS_USERS
but ony after coverting all of the 4 required apks to system apps it worked. did you convert all 4?
if not, maybe one of the steps before make the difference?

Oh. That must have been what I did wrong. I only converted the play store apk to a system file. I'll do the other three now.

Well now the play store shows up on the other login, but when I tap on it, nothing happens. Also, in link2sd, there's no option to clear "dalvik cache." Only "clear cache" which I did.
I notice that ever since I turned the 4 Google apps into system apps with link2sd, my Facebook app no longer works. It gets stuck in the screen.:

Apps keep crashing (multiple)

I have had a problem lately with more and more of my apps crashing when trying to run them.
Here are some of the apps that keep crashing.
Dolphin browser : Crashes when going to any website. (Fixed by clearing data VIA Titanium backup)
Injustice 2 : crashes when trying to log in (guest or other)
There may be others , but have a lot of apps.
I cleared cache and data on the apps with no resolve.
Not sure what else can do , probably something to with a conflicting program is my guess.
Honor 8 .
Fully rooted
Adaway, Youtube Adaway, Xposed ( Disable Flag Secure )(Lucky Patcher), Fdroid.
Possible app conflicts.
Any suggestions on what to do ?

app sign in failure on app launch: root related?

The app is prime video. I'm not even able to access the login screen, I just automatically am greeted with the "app sign in failure" message. It's the only app I've had an issue with since root. I even installed a couple banking apps to see if they behaved similarly, but there were no issues. I'm running magisk canary with magisk hide enabled. Is this possibly related to being rooted or something entirely different? Google search on this issue didn't produce anything.
Try clearing the cache and data for the app and rerun it.

ok just tried that, didn't work, thanks though.
The prime video app works fine on my pixel 4a running A10 with Magisk (but not hide)
So, try this:
1) Uninstall and reinstall the app - see if that works.
2) Install the regular amazon shopping app and see if you can sign into that - if you can, then the prime video app may just start working because I have noticed in the past that signing into one of the apps will also automatically sign you into the other.

Well this is odd, with the amazon shopping app, when I tap login, it starts forward for a sec then kicks me back every time. I did previously try reinstalling the prime video app. Very bizarre
I actually tried installing it on my 6 year old rooted with xposed note 4 and had no issues, logged in and all.
I would also try clearing the data and cache of the amazon shopping app (if you didn't just install it).
It sounds like you might have a restriction on one or both of the apps, like XprivacyLua or you may need to whitelist these apps to get them to work.

yea, I had just installed the amazon app to test. What is XprivacyLua? Sounds kinda like an xposed module. And how do I whitelist these apps?
If you don't know what Xprivacy is, then you don't have it and it can't be causing this.
Is there any Magisk or Xposed modules you have loaded that could be effecting these amazon apps?

Uhh, I doubt it. I currently have QuickSwitch, Systemless Hosts and Universal Safetynet fix installed in Magisk, that's it.
I had the same issue, have you installed an AdBlock like Adaway?

Thank you very much! I've been trying to disable, change settings, clear caches, uninstall, reinstall, hide, add exceptions etc. until I found this thread. In my case, the trick was to disable both AdGuard and AdAway, then presto, I was able to login in both Amazon Appstore and Amazon Shopping apps (and then re-enable both).
This also allowed me to login in the PayPal app, which was having the same issue of flashing the login screen for a split second before going back to the initial screen. So, triple thanks!
