Non T-Mobile CSC on T-Mobile I9505XXUHQK1 ROM - Galaxy S 4 General

Hi,
this is more an informative post than a question, as I found nothing googling "ASKS OTA", but if you have contradictory information I'll take it
I just tried to flash the latest I9505XXUHQK1 ROM (which has a very high changelist (& "quality base" ?), CL12538431 QB15647851, and which seems to be only released with T-Mobile CSC) with a non T-Mobile CSC (mainly to keep the Black Edition customization), and the extraction at the first boot (which is in recovery) fails, blaming a missing ASKS token :
Code:
-- Installing package...
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Verifying update package...
E: ASKS OTA| Error, ASKS token doesn't exist.
E: ASKS OTA| Error, This is official binary. Failed.
Installation aborted.
E: ensure_path_unmounted failed to unmount /cache (Device or ressource busy)
E: ensure_path_unmounted failed to unmount /cache (Device or ressource busy)
In the T-Mobile CSC, there's an additional "SEC-INF/buildinfo.xml" which seems signed. The CSC itself seems to support a very few countries.
And of course, the CSC customizations are missing.
So the latest Black Edition ROM & CSC seems to be I9505XXUHQC1 (CL5978264 QB12742647) + I9505YXXHPL1 (you can get it with LUX region).
You can also get the La Fleur edition, QXX (I9505QXXHQC1).
I couldn't find the sources for I9505XXUHQC1 by the way, are they published ?

Well, after digging a bit more I found
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1633333&page=572 which seems to relate to https://source.android.com/security/apksigning/v2
and https://android.stackexchange.com/q...curity-software-and-device-protection-manager
So this doesn't seems to be specific to T-Mobile as I thought (the "This is official binary. Failed." is weird however), but I guess there's no non-T-Mobile CSC compatible with QK1 yet.

[Q]CM10.1 install error "Can't partition unsafe device" "Can't format unknown volum
Noob here. Trying to install CM 10.1.3 on a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 (SGH-i497). Originally had the Status 7 error, and I have already removed the "assert" code, but I still have this problem:
log:
Code:

I have tried several TWRP and CWM version with both ODIN and Heimdall, but none were able to boot. The ONLY recovery I have successfully booted on my device came from this awesome person: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2101044
It's is a CWM-based Recovery v6.0.1.2. I can't post in their thread because I have noob status :silly:
EDIT: I've also tried other versions of CM 10.1 for the p5110, and get the same error.
I have searched far and wide, and have not found any solutions to this install error, especially pertaining to my device and the version of CM I want to use. Can anyone help me??
I'm fairly certain this has to do with the custom CWM recovery being unsuited for the installation, but the dev claims othewise (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=39911421&postcount=92).
What really confuses me is that not ONE recovery from any other publisher will boot on my device, even though I've successfully rooted.
Any suggestions?
What a mess
So in an effort untangle all the variables in this nearly 12-hour project, I realized that the SGH-i497 from AT&T (what I have) is maybe NOT THE SAME as the p51xx series of tablets. They appear nearly identical, but someone with more experience would probably be able to figure out what distinguishes them.
In conclusion, the reason no recoveries work besides childofthehorn's is because hers is the only existing one for this device! (Besides stock obv)
Thus the CM versions for p51xx wouldn't be compatible, hence the original error. But I'm going to attempt the p5113 nightly, and failing that stick with stock.
UPDATE: Error mentioned in OP persists with all versions of CM for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 (p51xx). Still no successful installation. Concluding that SGH-i497 is unsupported entirely by Cyanogenmod, unless anyone has experienced otherwise.

Before posting on this thread, make sure of a few things:
You've utilized the search function of the forums. Nothing irritates me more than lazy people who do not search for an answer before asking.
If you are the only one having a problem. Boot into recovery, wipe data/factory reset, reflash the rom/gapps and nothing else. Boot up and see if the problem persists.
Make sure your post is relevant to this thread. "I'm having problems rooting/unlocking" is NOT relevant here.

Try again with tomorow's nightly build. I missed a commit to mondrianwifi which fixes the ability to flash the build on EUR devices which have a smaller /system/ partition. I just pushed that change and it will be picked up in tomorrow's build. If that doesn't fix it, let me know.
YESSSS!!!!! Very thanks, you are the number one

Great! Work very well, but the apn settings are missing. The " Cellular Network" in "Setting" is not visible.

I can't believe I never noticed that was missing... Doh!
You can either wait for tomorrow's build or add this:

.
the file does not exist, I have create it and the menu is appeared.
You are the best!
Dear crpalmer,
short report from germany:
Having a german SM-T325 with t-mobile sim, running your CM11
Backup of apps with titanium backup
Factory reset plus formatted /system with twrp 2.8.4.0
Installed image 20150303 plus pa-gapps plus SuperSU
Rebooted
Language selector did not detect the german sim
Initial setup without any topic
Restored apps with titanium
Applied the mods from post #7 and #9
Rebooted
Everything fine: Calling, texting and ussd codes are working.
"Mobile Networks" available under settings.
This looks very promising!
Thanks a lot!
Stefan
i purchased a couple of days ago a 2nd hand set, 2 days which were enough to get me pissed bout samsung os crap
So I installed this and I can finally breathe. I can't be very accurate but it seems to me that it depletes battery a bit too fast when "idling" so I just got wakelock detector installed and will monitor, meanwhile someone more familiar with the device than me can confirm this CM12 is indeed not a batteryguzzler and it's just mine the exception ?
PS: Thanks to crpalmer for the beautiful rom, i have yet to insert the sim so I wouldnt have noticed the error posted above. Works great here and supersmooth.
Thx @crpalmer - great job with this first CM12 port, so far all works without any hickups and the 2 little changes to enable APN worked flawlessly.
Thumbs up
The setting "Cellular network" continues to disappear and if I set the camera resolution to 6mpx, the image is distorted.
wonderful rom many thanks for the lollipop flavor update so far so good you rock!!

Anyone having WiFi issues?
I can connect fine to my virgin router 5ghz but can't connect to any of my Cisco WAP devices on 5 or 2.4 GHz frequencies
Was a fresh wipe and install and have tried the 4 different versions posted
Everything works fine here! Thanks crpalmer for the great work!!
Two questions:
- anyone noticed some little lags browsing the launcher pages or opening apps?
- do you use any tweak to hide root in certain apps?
Sent from my SM-T325 using XDA Free mobile app
Thanks für that great ROM!!!! I sent you a donation via paypal.
I tried latest version aka cm120703 but there was 1 big problem. Cyanogenmod setting screen went fine to point where it asks for cm account. No matter if i skip it or sign in ...i'm directed to begining where to select language, set wlan and then again cm account... Here we go again to select language and so on. I tried reboot and other stuff but all i got was cycle as previously mentioned. I'll try 0603 version next.
Edit: 0603-version installed nicely. No problems.

Samsung Galaxy G955F (SCV35) snapdron Rooting?

Hello, I bought a Samsung S8 + from a German ebay dealer with the following software combination as a so-called new device:
G955FXXS5DSH5 / G955FXSA5DSFB / SCV35KDU1CSF4. The S8 + worked, but there were no further security updates
possible. The last one was from 06/01/2019.
According to the IMEI website, it is a device for the Japanese market: G955F Galaxy S8+ G955F (SCV35) (au is on the back). On the S8 + I now have the original one Version SCV35KDU1CSF4 flashed with Odin:
Result: It works, but apart from the Asian languages and Portuguese, only the English language selection is possible.
For this special case there is the possibility to flash a version (possibly as a combination above) to the device
to use in german language?
Note: Apparently a Snapdron has been installed here.
after flashing TWRP (twrp-3.3.1-0-dream2qlte.img.tar) it was not possible to boot the operating system. '/ data' could not be mounted (invalid argument), folder / data / media cannot be restored. at the end of the log the error message '/ data then appears 4x. After pressing the "Restart system" button, the text "Set Warrenty Bit: kernel" appears only in yellow.
Please help
