SM-G965U1 & SM-G960U1 - Verizon Visual Voicemail APK - Samsung Galaxy S9+ Guides, News, & Discussion

Here is the APK for the Verizon Visual Voicemail application for the SM-G965U1 and SM-G960U1.
This was automatically downloaded on my unlocked S9+ by the Galaxy App store. This application does not show up in the search results in the Galaxy app store. It downloaded to my device overnight and I could not find a way to manually trigger the install. This was discovered by @Averix in this post: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=75907191&postcount=11
My wife's S9 was not automatically downloading it for some reason. So I extracted the APK and was able to successfully install it on her S9.
Update: This does not work on an unlocked S7 and probably won't on other older devices.

I have no idea if this works for non-Oreo devices, but would love feedback if someone has a device to try it.

This is for ATT Confirmed working by me.

I received confirmation this does not work on an unlocked S7 running Nougat.

Will the voicemail be transcribed in this voicemail app. I just got an unlocked s9, always had iPhones in the past. In the iPhone Visual Voicemail, the Voicemails were transcribed so you could read them. Also is this an actual Verizon APK or a Samsung APK?

Anyone on Verizon and unlocked S9+ have wifi calling and video calling?

I only have the basic visual voicemail from Verizon. I don't know if you pay for the premium version if it would transcribe.
It doesn't say it's made by Samsung or Verizon, but it looks like the Verizon app that was on my Verizon branded S7.

This may be more detailed than you guys need, but if you can find the app in GALAXY apps and use Lightflow, you're there. I don't know how the Voicemail works standalone, but I wanted the LED indicator and the sound of my choice. Voila ! This was all done on my Galaxy s9.
This app is available through GALAXY APPS, not Samsung Apps. I got it to work, without rooting, using Lightflow as follows:
Open Lightflow
Choose Notification Settings
Choose red "+" plus sign at the bottom right
Choose "From System event, battery, gps, etc.
From "Select system notifications to add", roll down to Voice Mail, check the box, choose "Add"
This will add Voicemail to your Lightflow notifications list, and then you have to pick your settings for it.
On Lightflow's Notification page, find dark blue "Voicemail" and open the "three dots" to the right, choose "settings"
The setting menu is a "slide to the right" type menu. I used "light" , enable light, choose a color, etc. I chose dark blue to match the icon.
So now, I have a dark blue "Voicemail" icon in my apps, and Lightflow makes it chime the sound I chose and lights up the LED at the top of the S9, in dark blue, and it blinks, so I know a voicemail is there. It also shows up on the notification panel.

That is correct. I just don't know if this version of the app will transcribe them if you pay for the service.

I have Verizon BASIC VISUAL VOICEMAIL, which is included in my plan and the Galaxy Visual Voicemail works just fine on my unlocked S9+. Check your Verizon plan, you may not have to pay extra. ( It's worth it to say that Verizon Basic Voicemail is NOT the same as Verizon Basic Visual Voicemail). Here's a link to the Verizon voicemail comparison chart.
https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/voice-mail-comparison/
I promised the link which is a description and which then leads you to the APK, if you're into that. I didn't do it that way, because the icon downloaded for me from Galaxy Apps when I clicked it. This apk came from the XDA website, here's a link to the post.
UPDATE: I'm not certain, but I think that the blue icon for Samsung Visual Voicemail may only be present in the most recent update pack. I have that because I just got my unlocked phone and ran updates immediately.

I can confirm this. Just unboxed my S9+ last night. No Visual Voicemail app from Samsung / Galaxy Apps. I performed the update just now, and the visual voicemail app was ready for download in the Galaxy Apps menu. Just finished testing it, and it works fine after auto-setting up. Just your basic visual voicemail, no transcribing of course.

Re: Verizon Visual Voice Mail.
Sorry but this app doesn't support Visual Voicemail for Unlocked Samsung S9+ on the Verizon Network. It merely gives you an indicator that you have new voicemail but have to still dial in to hear the message.

Poinmanipo, it DOES work on an unlocked s9+ using Verizon. I'm doing it, it's working.

Yeah it sounds like you are still using the default voicemail.... Not vvm

I downloaded the app from here. Ran the setup. Left a voicemail message. Did I forget anything?

If you don't have Basic VISUAL VOICEMAIL from Verizon, it WON'T work. Basic VVM from Verizon is free with your deal. Check and see that you have the right VM. If not, then get it, it's free.

Are you using a Prepaid Account? Or are you using Postpaid?
Thank you.

I'm not sure what difference it makes if its prepaid or postpaid. Different features on the plan? In any case, I'm using prepaid Verizon with an unlocked S9. But the automatic down load of the blue VVM apk comes from either a Samsung OS update or Android, not Verizon.
Correction: I have Verizon POSTpaid. Sorry.

[Q] T-Mobile Visual Voicemail Incompatible?

So earlier today I switched to the T-Mobile $30/month prepaid plan and ported my number from AT&T. The voice and data are both working just fine. I'm just having one small problem, that being T-Mobile Visual Voicemail. I want to install T-Mobile Visual Voicemail so I don't have to use up minutes calling the voicemail system, however when I navigate to T-Mobile Visual Voicemail in the Google Play Store, it says "This app is incompatible with your device." Why does it say its incompatible? I checked under my Google Play Account, it has my device listed as T-Mobile, and I tried signing out and signing back in on my phone just in case but to no avail. Are other Nexus owners having this problem? Could it be that T-Mobile Visual Voicemail is incompatible with Android 4.4.2 (I just received the update this afternoon)? I noticed on GP that a new version of T-Mobile VV was released just today, so I would think it would have support for the latest version of Android. Does anyone have any ideas? If anyone else has had this problem have you figured out a way around it? Thanks a lot for your help.
Tmobile is saying they haven't updated the app yet to be compatible with KK. However, if you search around on this forum the apk is available and works swell. GL!

Weird, I've had VVM on my Nexus 5 ever since I got it, and it's always worked.. can't remember if I installed it from Play or from Helium, though.
Here is the link for the VM apk

Use the above post's link to download the APK and transfer to the Nexus 5, then use ES File Explorer (or similar) to install - and you should be good.

Thanks, I just sideloaded it and it works perfectly. I don't know why they're blocking it on Google Play. I don't think the one Rykochet put on Dropbox is even the latest version and yet it works. Come on T-Mobile, get your act together, I dumped AT&T for you.
Weird
I installed it directly from Google play and it's worked fine since the first day I got my nexus.
I'm not rooted and haven't sideloaded anything.
I downloaded it from Google Play the first day i got the phone. Two weeks later i rooted it and by then it was blocked on Play. I just downloaded the APK right on to the phone and opened it. The phone asked me if I wanted to install, said yes and it's been fine ever since

[Magisk Module] Google Phone w/ Visual Voicemail Support

This module was originally made by @OMJ and tested on the HTC U11 US Unlocked model (BS_US001) with T-Mobile Carrier. I recently acquired a HTC U12+ Dual Sim (HTC__622) and then converted it HTC U12+ Dual Sim (HTC__626). Tested it on both and Google Dialer w/ Visual Voicemail works with T-Mobile Carrier. I assume it would be the same result on the HTC U12+ US Unlocked (BS_US001). Once installed you can continue to receive updates to the Google Phone app via Google Play Store. Cheers :victory::victory: Be sure to give @OMJ a thanks if this helped you and if you want to be super homie leave a donation.
Requirements:
Unlocked Bootloader, Magisk 17.0+ and TWRP
You must have a compatible carrier that supports the Visual Voicemail feature
Make the Google Phone the default calling app
Enable all permissions to Google Phone
Clear the data of Google Play Store
Installation:
Flash in TWRP Recovery
General Info:
To Disable The Module, Open Magisk Manager --> Modules --> The Module --> Tap On The Check Box/The True Icon --> Reboot
To Enable The Module, Open Magisk Manager --> Modules --> The Module --> Tap On The Uncheck Box --> Reboot
To Uninstall The Module, Open Magisk Manager --> Modules --> The Module --> Tap On The Bin Icon --> Reboot
If the magisk module doesn't work for you, try the following but it is more trivial.
Make the latest Google phone app (apkmirror is your friend) a system app using this method
https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/module-terminal-app-systemizer-ui-t3585851
Then modify the desired values to true (you could activate call screening with this but more than likely will not work) to the dialer_phenotype_flags.xml file, the directory is the following
/data/data/com.google.android.dialer/shared_prefs
That will give visual voicemail with transcribed voicemails. This is assuming both your carrier and google allow it. There is no way to force compatibility with visual voicemail but other features will work aside from call screening.

I just checked it out and this is what I found...
Google’s Call Screening feature only works on the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL smartphones, but it will be available for the Pixel and Pixel XL, as well as the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL in November. It’s unclear if Google plans to keep this as an exclusive Pixel phone feature, or if it will be baked into Android at a later date.
Everything else seems to work especially caller ID and spam blocking. It helps to negate the argument that Sense is too old when we can add apps like this and turn HTC phone completely off.
And I just checked the Playstore to show how Google phone shows on the U12+ and I already have another update.

They didn't lock them out, it is because Verizon did not make it's on software for the U11 and U12+ like they normally do. Verizon used to not even let us bring unlocked phones, we had to buy Verizon branded.
I haven't messed with it yet but I think it will be possible to get Google visual voicemail
The spam blocker feature is working
HTC will be ahead of the 5g game with superior carriers like Verizon. Since Verizon will be the first with 5g.

Note10 Multi-Line Settings (T-Mobile)

Hi guys. I bought a Note10 about a month ago and I had no idea that the built in Multi-Line Settings Digits option was no longer available. I called T-Mobile but they said that they have no plans on making it available again and to just use their mobile app instead.
Is there a way to download the Multi-Line Settings apk from an S9 or Note9 and install it to my Note10? If so, what's a good source to get it from?
I installed an apk from apkmirror, file was uploaded back in 2017 though but it did not work. I'm going to assume that it is outdated, not compatible with the Note10 or maybe I just did not set it up correctly.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

I am with T-Mobile since 2003 and it is free. Before S10 devices multi-line(digits feature) and vvm were in the dialer app but then either T-Mobile or Samsung just decided not to implement the above features and tell customers to use the apps they have. So play store has T-Mobile VVM, Digits apps

Question Google Phone - Not Full Version?

Sooo, just got my ultra from Verizon. I noticed that Google phone does not have all the features that you can get via the play store. A lot of things are missing, even the voicemail tab. I reinstalled from Google play, same deal. Went to apk mirror and got a can't install on this device error. Is this a Samsung thing, or a Verizon thing?
Is there a port for it? One of my fav things on my Pixel was the phone features.
So Google Play allows the Google Phone app with Caller ID. However, the On Hold and Call Screening features are exclusive to the Pixels and require a specific system framework to run. Don't feel too bad, as the Pixel 6 series have had these features randomly stop working due to maintenance and updates.

If you are referring to another app other than the T-Mobile visual voicemail app then no i don't have it on the unlocked ultra
I have not seen or can find a Samsung Visual Voice Mail.
Unfortunately you have to download TMO's version which is awful and itself doesn't work that well.
This is one sore spot that iOS gets right, having VVM baked in to the dialer. It just works!
I use T-Mobiles Visual Voice Mail and really have no issues with it, but also, I do not use it very often either.
Yes it works, so long as you are using TMOB as your primary sim. If you use dual sim and you switch to your other sim it dials that other sims vm and doesn't work.
