For all those who noticed B383 in firmware updater if you flash the two separate files it is indeed a worthwhile update unzip entire contents to SD card and rename them to DLOAD, starting with the update.zip first (and in both cases making sure you the top folder you call DLOAD is the one with update.app in it). You don't need TWRP or anything, standard DLOAD method will work.
It fixes the Mobile network crash bug (i.e. if you can't currently access Mobile network settings, this will fix it without a hard reset).
Anyone using Google Apps for Work etc, it also fixes the issue with Google Device Policy, which would complain the device was unencrypted even when it wasn't. This is also fixed.
Also fixed is the "OK Google from any screen" issue where using the microphone for anything but a normal voice call caused non-stop prompts that "whatever app is currently recording..."

Unfortunately Huawei is still stuck with 7.0, Nexus devices are already out with 7.1.2, as well as e.g., Sony and HTC have beta 7.1.x versions
I saw the update this morning in Firmware Finder but didn't dare to upgrade yet, since having b378 with TWRP, root, etc
When I download b383 update from firmware finder, it gives me a message that says authentication has failed, what should I do ?
Can I update from Internal memory? Didn't have a problem last time updating to B378

You have to use the DLOAD method. You can't use the system update interface

Not sure about this to be honest.
If you could update to 378 using DLOAD then this is the same so the answer is yes, in that case.
Is it possible to upgrade to b383 from b378, or only from b182?
Does anybody have b383 on Mega or G-drive to download (I have b378 and System Updates does not offer me any update)

Ok, how did you get b383, where from?
I have also b378 but System Updates tells me there is no update for me. Irmware Finder shows b383 but does not start download.
Is there a link to download b383?

However, should I reinstall stock Recovery before upgrading (since I have TWRP). Thx
Anyone got this update through HiCare app or something? Or does this method need a few days more ... Thank you!

Hi,
Does anybody know when the official Nougat firmware will be available for the Honor 8 US Model (FRD-L04)?
I received the Nougat update via OTA back in February but downgraded to Marshmallow due to battery drain issues. I haven't received the update via OTA again, so I'm looking for official Nougat firmware to try it manually.

I had the same problem just wipe cache in recovery and wipe data of the system update app.

It is available, I have the B385 OTA update on my FRD-L04. Maybe check on your PC with HiSuite if the update can't be found from your device.

You can try Firmware finder to have the latest firmware.
Sent from my Honor 8 using XDA Labs
I received OTA Update of B385 on my L04 couple of months back in Karachi, Pakistan
I have downgraded multiple times to Marshmallow and have always reviewed the OTA update.
Incase you're not recieving it, unlock the bootloader, flash TWRP. Then use Firmware Finder to download the firmware shown in the screenshot below. Flash all the downloaded files using TWRP. You will be updated to nougat without wiping anything.
(In future, remember that all firmwares that end with PV can be flashed using TWRP)
Thanks for the suggestion on using FirmwareFinder.
I tried different packages from FirmwareFinder but the installation stops at around 5-6% and throws an error saying it's not compatible, even though I seem to have selected a FRD-L04 compatible Nougat package. So I gave up on that.
I'm a bit surprised to read comments that OTA update has been pushed even after downgrading to MarshMallow several times. I downgraded sometime around March and haven't received OTA update not even once (in the US).

Ah dload won't work to install the Nougat update.
As I said, unlock the bootloader and flash TWRP recovery. Then install those zip files from TWRP as you would install a custom ROM. However, instead of installing B360, you can install B385 update to be on the latest version. Use Firmware Finder to download the update but ensure that the update is FullOTA-MF-PV as shown in the screenshot attached.
Or if you don't want to unlock the bootloader, then no problem. When you hit the firmware in Firmware Finder, along with Download there are other options too. Select 'Get an update through DNS' and follow the instructions.

You won't get any Nougat upgrade notification until you update your device up to B162 which is the last MM version for your FRD-L04C567.
If your device is stock and locked you just need to push the B162 FullOTA (version 66280) using Firmware Finder proxy installation method. Then you should get the B360 update notification. But if for some weird reason the notification doesn't come up automatically, then go ahead and push the B360 FullOTA (version 72309) using the same FF proxy method. For B385 (version 83098) it will be the same procedure.
I've done it myself before and it works.

Ok, LiteRom is Nougat 7
Option 1
Flash TWRP via Odin then flash LiteRom or any Nougat Rom
Option 2 (Easy)
Place phone in download mode (home+volume down+power) then flash Stock Nougat (via Odin) for your country Slovakia (TMS) from www.sammobile.com

No, i have LiteRom v. Oreo.
I have latest TWRP of course too.
Bootloader apparently prevents downgrade via Odin, but you can still downgrade via TWRP. You need to flash a custom nougat ROM that includes an older bootloader version.
Odin 3.13. and latest Nougat ROM available for your phone.
Did downgrade without any issues.

You can't downgrade the bootloader.
Stock nougat on an Oreo bootloader will cause problems with wifi, data, and possibly lose the IMEI.

I still haven't got the update process to work, i've had problems with every possibile way:
eRecovery update - during the download process after a while eRecovery automatically reboots the phone, and when i re-enter the recovery and start the update process it resumes from where it left but at the end of the process the validation fails, this does not happen if the size of the update is smaller, like an 300mb ota successfully updated my phone. I assume it has a timer before it stops the update.
DNS update - from system updater it finds the update but fails to download it
Proxy update - not working
Is there a way to download the files and then update?
