Hey guys im on b360c567 and am condicdering upgrading to RR rom, I love AOSP but I don't hate EMUI and am concerned I won't get the same battery life after rooting. What do you consider to be the pros and cons of the two?
I've been wondering and curious to know as well about this so posting to bump this up.

I have an unrooted (and plan to stay like that ?) HTC 10 phone and at the moment my phone is 'harrasing' me to install the Nougat update from Marshmallow. Since the KitKat to lollipop debacle on HTC m8 I have sworn off from updating OS.
However it seems most people have been saying positive things about Nougat especially with regard to battery performance. Note this is something I'd be interested in. However , wanted to know if anybody knew of any battery performance comparison tests between the two OS...
I did find one online but it was a bit old and wondered if anybody knew of any others so I can make an informed choice about the battery performance of both OSs... Also what do fellow users personally think about the battery performance difference between Android Nougat and Marshmallow? Advanced thanks

I really like the look and feel and hardware of the Honor 8. I hate the software though. Is it worth it to unlock the boot loader root it and then flash CM14.1 on it? Is CM stable enough for everyday use? Having stock Android on the Honor 8 would be awesome if it worked good.
Can i ask you what you dislike about emui? I thought that i would had hard time with it, but since i bought H8, i've never had the feeling to switch back to AOSP because everything it's quite good and even the look and feel is not so far to the AOSP ui (particularly with N)...

I've used AOSP based ROMs since the HTC Evo. Once you change the launcher and use your favorite 3rd party apps, there's very little about EMUI to actually dislike.

The software is just OK IMHO since N update. The lineage 14.1 ROM is still in testing and not ready for daily driver yet. I will flash it as soon as everything is working including FPS but until then I will stick with stock EMUI Nougat. The worst thing about this phone is the battery. Literally the worst battery life of any phone I've ever had.
Does anyone know as far as camera's go, which one is considered better, the Nexus 5X or the Honor 8?

The Honor 8 camera is better than Nexus 5X camera.
Okay before people start killing me with their comments, please understand it's just a thought that's passed my mind & I thought of sharing it with you guys cos it excited me.
What if someone could port Oxygen OS of OnePlus on our S7? I've been a fan of OnePlus and have seen great improvements in their OS recently. Reason I'm using S7 and not OnePlus would be cos I love 5inch phones and find 5.5inch way too big for my hands. So ya I've been really dreaming about using Oxygen OS on my S7 these days. Anyone else sharing the same dream?
There are already ported launchers ... so maybe that can help.

Actually it's not about just the launcher. It's a dream of having that stable stock android on Samsung devices, which many of us have all the time.
yeh... i also need oxygenos for my s7
Hey, guys i have a quick question, is android 6.0 really worth downgrading to? I know about battery life but will i lose some performance features or generally what do i gain and what will i lose?
Thanks for answer.
Just ordered a Pixel as a backup phone, and I wanna get a headstart and know what the smoothest possible experience is at the moment for our phone.
I don't care what Android version I'm on, don't really use any new features past Android 8. I just want the smoothest experience for the phone.
Should I run the stock Android 7 or 8? Or is the Android 10 update actually smoother on this old device?
Don't mind flashing a custom ROM, but not just to be on a higher Android version or to get more features, only if it's nice and smooth and stable.
Anyone's recommendations or 2 cents is welcomed let me know! I'm excited to tinker with the device.
PE 10 is great choice
If anyone is looking for an answer to this after some trial and error LineageOS 17.1 seems to be the smoothest experience. Android 11 ROMs aren't there yet. Unless you go back to Oreo or Nougat this seems to be the smoothest option. Shoutout Lineage DEVs
