Hello
Today i have bought a galaxy s6 , and i have a question :
I've heard that the quick charging don't charge the phone at the top or that it isn't good for battery , is it true?
And , how can i disable the quick charging?
I've alredy heard that with another charger (example I have the charger of my LG G2) , i can "disable" the quick charging.
I don't know if it is true (and i don't know if it's good for battery using another charger who isn't the official), so i hope that someone can help me
Thanks
I just picked up a wireless fast charger for use in my car, and found out (via one of those USB power meters) that the S7 isn't actually fast charging even though it says it is. When the screen is off and the device is fully idle, it will charge at 7-12W (power input to the wireless fast charger) but when the screen is on, it drops down to 3-5W which is not even enough to maintain state of charge if I'm doing something like a phone call or GPS navigation. Any ideas why this is? Seems like it might be thermal related. I've got root and various tweaking apps, is there a way to force it to do full 10W charging whenever possible and throttle CPU instead if needed for thermals?
Found the answer to part of my question here: http://androidforums.com/threads/galaxy-s7-wont-fast-charge-if-the-screen-is-on.1002329/
It's by design that if the temperature is too high or the screen is on fast charging is disabled. Question remains if this can be bypassed by root commands/tweaks or not.

It also depends on charger
As long fast charging is switched ON on your phone and the wireless charger does support fast charging, it will say that its fast charging.
However, if your phone while charging got hot or you are charging in a hot ambient temperature, the phone will charge at normal rates even less as the temps of the phone goes up. Thus the fan in the wireless charger
Btw am referring to the official samsung fast charger stand with a gs7, havent tried other brands.
Hope this helps
To power up, you consume Red Bull. But your phone just needs its adaptive fast charger. Rate this thread to express how quickly the Samsung Galaxy S8 can charge. A higher rating indicates that it charges extremely fast.

I got problems with it...
Sometimes it charges really quick, like Quick Charge does. But then sometimes it says it needs about 8 hours to charge fully.
Thats why i voted Average 3* and charging speeds sometimes even differs if i plug it out and in again.
EDIT:
With the original charger which came in the box it works fine and needs about 1h and 40m to fully charge.
1 hour 45 mins normal charge with original cable and adapter S8 rocking stock AQF7 not rooted

OK, the original charger, what is the Voltage & Amperage Output?
Also.....
From 25% to full charge using a QI Wireless Charger and the Original Charger that came with it, how long to full charge?
From 25% to full charge using the USB out on a laptop (.5Amp), how long to full charge?

Hi are you Iranian?
If you doesn't use official Charger of S8 that it's available in Phone Box it's probably correct that your device will not be charged very fast and you have to use the Official and trusted charger of Galaxy s8 that Samsung electronics have confirmed it.
Been using the s8+ for two weeks
Not sure what to say. When i check with Ampere app, it only shows it charges for 1000 maH
I have Xiaomi mi5 which charges for 2000-3000 maH with the same charger
How could samsung lose to Xiaomi?
After the August security patch the fast wireless charging is broken. I have the European version S8 and a choetech wireless fast charger. Does anyone has this problem after the last OTA update?
Just to point out, the fast wireless charging option is activated in the settings but the wireless fast charging is not working, only normal wireless charging.

I was wondering if it was my wireless charger faulty... did you have any source on this bug or it's just your (and mine) experience?
you cant check charging current with ampere app, because Samsung changed charging method a lot after explosive s7.
basically if screen is on charging current drop to ~ 1000mah. and phone use 9v or 12v only if screen is off.
also if you phone charge longer than 2h something is wrong with your charger\wire or phone can't go to sleep properly due to "cancer" apps who prevent full sleep.
But iam here to ask owners of 25watt chargers, is it worth it? how long it takes to charge it with it?
i not sure if link are allowed here but here it is https://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/m...apter-for-galaxy-tabpro-s-25w-ep-ta300cweguj/

Hello,
It does not matter wether the option on my s7 for fast cable charging is on or off, the mobile always charges at the fastest (about 1h 30 min to fully charge). Since I charge my phone during the night I would like to have that feature off. I had the same problem with android 6.0 and I thought that upgrading to 7.0 would solve it but it has not.
Does anybody have any ideas on how to disable it or why the feature is not working as it should ?
Thanks.
It probably is working, mine only has about a 15 min difference from 0>100 with fast charge enabled, so if you're not charging from dead you might not notice the difference

Fast charging is indeed not "very fast" compared to standard 5V 2A, but you can check if it writes "charging" or "fast charging" on lock screen. You can also simply use an old charger like an 1A charger (I use a 1A iPhone charger for the night, it takes 2h30 to charge)
Hello guys, the charger from the box doesn't support fast charging ? it's only charging on super fast mode...
Actually, it does. While it's normally enabled by default you should check to make sure it is on your device. Go to > Settings/Battery and device care/Battery/More Battery settings(scroll to bottom of screen)/Make sure "Fast Charging" is enabled. It will default to Superfast, so disable that if you only want Fast charging.

Yes I know that, but when I turn on fast charging it says - cable charging. super fast charging works normally, I read somewhere that stock charger doesn't support fast charging and I want to confirm it...

Mine has fast, superfast and wireless superfast options. I have disabled all of them. How long it takes for the fast charging option to top the battery?
Now with all disabled options, my battery gets charged in one 1 hour 45 minutes
