how about picking the right variant. in lg g4 only tmobile could be bootloader unlocked. and some european. and development is lower on tmobile. so anything i should know about variants are they all the same?

well, lets see... there are several models to consider.
L29 / L09 are the international versions with dual or single sim, respectively.
then we have AL10, TL00, CL00, DL00, the chinese variants of the mate 8.
then there are regional subsections of these models, contained in the software version, i.e. L29C185 for middle east, L29C432 for europe, C636 for asia etc., the C being the so called "cust" or regional code.
good thing about all this: every version can be bootloader unlocked and can be reprogrammed or "debranded" to any other version (aside from dual vs sim slot, cant change that, obviously )
if u prefer not to mess around with debranding, it depends on your preferences which version you should get:
L29/L09 international versions come with google services and apps preinstalled, whereas the chinese variants dont have those. so ull have to manually install them. in general, official rom updates come to the chinese models first, followed by the international phones. note that some regional custs basically dont get any updates whatsoever, so best to stick to one of the major custs (like europe, middle east, asia, etc vs. south africa, chile or smth. the larger the region, the better).

Hello everybody. I am from Europe (Bulgaria) and I am going to buy Huawei Honor 8. I found a guy who bought Honor 8 from his mobile vendor (Telenor if it matters) and now he is selling it but the strange thing is that the model of his phone is actually for India. FRD-L02C432. I know it sounds strange because the phone model is for India (L02) but the build number is for the European region (C432). Do you think it is a good idea to buy this phone? I need a suggestion.
PS: Another bulgarian person bought Honor 8 from Telenor BG and he also got L02C432 and he is stuck to Android MM.
Is there Nougat update for this specific model?
LXX in Huawei does not specify regions, it does specify the number of production series. L02 would mean it was in the second batch produced, nothing to worry about.

There is no logic in your words. So L19 which is the european model with 64 gigs means it is the 19th batch produced, isnt it?

You asked, I answered. Sorry, you don't like it. Ask Huawei directly if they even care to answer your adolescent question buddy.
L02 definitely does not stand for "For India ONLY", that's for sure.

Well, sorry then. Be happy.
Pretty sure it is for region not batch number and I have yet to see anything else.
There seem to be only assumptions about this though, as far as I know.

LXX is indication for the number and kinds of bands the phone supports. It might be region-related but not necessarily. https://www.frequencycheck.com/comp...nor-8-standard-edition-dual-sim-lte-a-frd-l09
That would definitely add to the confusion. I'm assuming C432 is the region code then. That doesn't make sense then though since the supported bands differ depending on region only.
Well i guess they do lol.
Huawei isn't exactly very straight-forward in their naming process.

Here you have the specs for L02.
Your Firmware is European.
Note:
1. L02 has nothing to do with India. Yes it's the only selled Honor 8 in India but has nothing to do with the country. It's because the frequencys of the signals is compatible in india.
2. Your device COULD be debranded. Check online with your serial number if it is a L02. (Maybe there's a webpage that does that)

Hi! I am thinking about buying honor 8 from aliexpress. Do you think it is safe, and will i get OTA updates, i live in Europe and would like the international version? If i get the chinese honor 8, is it possible for me to flash it to european ROM?
I cant post link to it, but if you search for "honor 8" on aliexpress you can see different vendors selling it and claiming international ROM.
Regards, pokemeister
I don't have much idea about Huawei from AliExpress but my friend bought Xiaomi also I use AliExpress a lot and it's totally safe. My friend said he was needed to pay import tax in Bangaldesh(idk about Europe). I also heard if anything goes wrong with the phone then he needs to pay for the shipping to give it back to china and also it may take months to get back. Anyways the phone was working PERFECTLY and it was cheaper than usual. And if the seller says international version and he sends a local one, you can just open a dispute and AliExpress will return all your money back. Also you can rebrand it if you want to.
If you Get the Dl00 version it is not suitable for ROMS ,because the network wont work.
Make sure to check the seller ratings
That is not a good idea. As the EU version of the Honor 8 actually runs on slightly different but very similar hardware to the Chinese version.

I have the honor 8 chinese version AL00. I buyed in AliExpress and let me tell you its totally safe.
About to Flash to an european rom, I saw in some pages where they say it Is a complicated process, but hey, isnt bad at all, only for a few chinese apps and you will need to install the gapps
You must check the 4g bands. The AL00 has the band 4, that band I need in my country

Go for FRD-AL00. I had it nearly for 1 year now. It's first in the row as far as updates are concerned, I'm on 391 from yesterday. It's working fine in Europe (skipping LTE 800 which is not a big deal). It perfectly covers Indian LTE too, I've been there recently.
There is no need to flash the EU rom, I wouldn't recommed it. You gain nothing, loose plenty (call recording, international bands...) and unnecessary risk a lot. Just install needed gapps (Play, Services, Framework, Partner setup...), select desired theme and you are good to go. You'll feel no difference from EU rom, just enhanced functionality.
Thank you guys, really appricate it! I contacted the sellers on Ali, and the honor 8's are AL00 and AL10 (32/64gb chineese version), but he could flash it to frd-l19 for international customers. Should i rather ask him to keep the original al00 firmvare or let him flash it to al19 (european)?

When I buyed my phone I was afraid they would install the european rom, because I dont know how they install the rom. I asked them leave the original rom. The diference between a chinese rom and am european rom is the chinese doesnt have the gapps and came with some chinese apps. Some chinese apps can be uninstalled others can be deactivated with adb commands.
In the chinese rom, you can hide the navigation bar. In the european you cant

Eu rom has gapps ,while other one has no gapps.

Hello everyone,
as per the title, can i buy the mi mix 2s in china from a local seller and then switch it to a Global Rom?
Will i encounter bands problem for example? i live in EU
Thank youu
Yes, you can just install the global rom, I'm living in germany and also got the chinese version. You may check what LTE bands are used in your country since the chinese version does not have all the bands the global version has. However, the extra bands the global version has are mostly used in africa and america so chances are good that you'll be fine
Are you entirely sure that the two versions come with different bands? I can't find any confirmation anywhere

Yes they do come with different bands. I do not recommend you buying the chinese variant!
Look for the model that ends with XA ! this is the Global one with all bands.
Trust us. There is a reason for different models to exist.
The Chinese model can install global ROM but you cannot lock bootloader afterwards so it is not safe and many apps will not work.
Global model has more bands than base Chinese models but same as 8/256 Chinese model.
You can, but it would be "better" to buy it and install a rooted ROM from here if you want full features like Android Pay to function.
You can't relock the bootloader if you change from the chinese ROM.
Yes you could, but that may be not suggested depending on the model you want to get...
For 6+64 / 6+128 models, China variant (XE model) differs from global variant (XA model): XE has less band support and you need to keep your BL unlocked to install global ROM. So you'd better not buy these two models in China.
Still, I can show you the missing bands on XE model if you'd like to know, but anyway I don't think it necessary to buy it...
For 8+256 model, there's no two variants, only one XA model for both China and other countries. You should be safe to buy it.
And, if you get XE variant and flash global ROM with BL unlocked, you still cannot install Magisk - you'll see bootloop and then enter recovery. That's another important reason why I don't recommend XE variant. The only way to install Magisk is to install MiPa kernel instead of the stock one.
Hi all,
I just ordered a Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro from an online shop in my country, Bulgaria.
It turns out it is the CN version with Dual SIM but with Global software installed on it, whatever this means.
I have thus a few questions:
- Will I have regular updated of the OS in this case?
- Will the phone be compatible with all the LTE / 5G bands in all Europe (it is important that it works everywhere because I travel a lot)?
- Will all the functions work properly?
Thank you in advance!
If they misrepresented this as the Global version, then return it and get the real thing. There is no guarantee that secure apps will work or continue to work and I believe that the 5G antenna is different on the Chinese version (but I might be wrong).
They said it's the Chinese version with the Global software. My main concern is exactly the antena and eventually the OS updates...

I don't know how it has global software, if you keep it you can only unlock the bootloader if they didn't already do it and relock it. Worrying too say the least, I have Chinese version with EU ROM installed but I did that myself, I heard 5g working fine in EU I haven't been anywhere I can test with the lockdown. It's possible they have left it unlocked would be better if you can do it with your own account.

Can I update the phone through built-in software update? or do i need to flash it everytime? what's the downside of doing it aside from getting your bootloader unlocked?
Global v CN
I have researched this in depth as some of the specs are different on different websites selling it. From what I've seen, the CN dual SIM version with app store added lacks a significant Band 20 for Europe LTE, whereas the single SIM Global Version has the band 20; Xiaomi have said the Global version will be single SIM only. I believe Google Pay will not work on the CN version: you can check the different specs out at wonda mobile a Hong Kong seller. I believe it is possible to flash the EU ROM down the line but haven't come across a method to follow.

I'm very close on pulling the trigger on mi 10 pro CN but not flashed with global rom. only with google apps installed because I wanna unlock the bootloader by myself and flash eu rom. If you buy the CN version with global rom flashed, they will have the code for unlocking the bootloader and I doubt if you can get the code from giztop.
You have to use MI unlock tool to unlock the bootloader. You will have to wait 7 days and you will be authorized for an unlock.
5G
Hi, bands are as in image for UK. Note again for 4G Band 20 is absent on CN version. All 5G in UK is 5G NR band n78 which is present in both CN and global version of the phone.

In my part of the world, we use B3 and B28. CN version only have B3 and no B28. Does that mean I wont have 4G in some areas? Now I'm leaning towards buying the Global now.
Try flash global rom, then back to cn rom, will lose one sim and auto reboot.

I order these all the time, this the Chinese rom with Google apps sideloaded more than likely. I'm not entirely sure if there is even a global rom available yet. That being said, your software will be one of those two options. More then likely, the former. The hardware will be Chinese, so 5G will not be supported here in the USA, just 4G LTE and not all bands at that.
You will get the MIUI updates, but not the Google updates. This is solved rather easily though by installing rom from Xiaomi.eu. These ROMs are installed using TWRP and are updated weekly with MIUI, as well as, Google updates.

I think if you are buying cn version it's best to get without play store, that's what I did, all you need is play store APK, all frame work is already there

I did say I don't want the Xiaomi EU version.
I think I will take a punt. But I bet it will take weeks to get here via DHL?

I'm very intrigued to knowing how this turns out! I want to do the same thing. I just don't know how trust worthy Giztop is as far as flashing the official Rom and what risks that has.
There are many posts scattered around with this information, and people asking about it. So i prefered to regroup this here.
So YES it is confirmed, the only places to get the OPPO Find X2 Pro 2025 , Global WITH Dual Sim are in Thailand, Malaysia and Singapour (waiting for more information if other countries have them)
It's nearly impossible to find a place to buy it online, so you need to find alternative ways like http://www.parcl.com to get it, and it will come out more expensive.
Be careful on the JD.com site from Thailand as it has various versions of the phone.
Also apparently Oppo is big in Thailand and they have shops in Bangkok, so it's easy to find (apparently the Black one is out of stock, but the Orange one can be easily found).
One member here posted this as proof, and it's thanks to him we were able to find the truth!

I'm also interested to know that. Did you flash the EU / UK Firmware on the Thai Model with no issues? Strange i thought the Global 2025 variant all have the same firmware. But now thinking of it; as the Thai model is the only Dual SIM 2025, i'm very curious to know what differences there are... as if there are not many, this is going to be interesting to see if it's possible to port it to other 2025 single sim Models.
Could you please enlighen us and tell us the differences between the two models?

So, everyone getting Find X2 Pro from Thailand is lucky right ?
All OPPO Find X2 Pro in Thailand has 2 IMEIs as far as I know.
View attachment 5030543
and this is mine, running on .18 EU firmware
also, I was running on .21 TH firmware and that shows 2 IMEIs too.

Yes, you are right. i miss understood at first. 1 SIM can have 5G, the other is 4G. If you switch "SIM2" to 5G "SIM1" will have 4G max.

you were able to flash EU to your Thailand model? Just flashed in recovery? Sorry don't understand or do you have EU model that doesn't work dual sim?

under the bands specs... this is the translation
* The function will be available on the 5G Live Network. Depending on the service area of the network. And software of certified devices It will be able to support the 5G function when it is upgraded via OTA and when the network used is ready to provide service.
meaning it doesn't support 5G currently since it is not necessarily deployed in that region but they will bring functionality via OTA...
To note, currently 865 snapdragon has 5G limitation to 1 SIM only and is being worked on currently to be patched... this is for all phones... you can either rock dual sim, dual 4G, 1 SIM 5G and 1 SIM Standby. Someone in previous post has the phone in hand and could answer better. The limitation is not Oppo's issue... its googles and Qualcomm. This is why USA OnePlus 8 Pro is currently only 1 SIM and EU OnePlus 8 Pro only supports dual sim 4G.

You have the phone... is there a 5G limitation on single sim? As you previously posted, definitely no dual 5G yet... Can you run on 5G and 4G at same time dual sim or just 4G...?

Not true.
Available officially in Malaysia and Singapore as well.
Could be available in other places as well. So it's definitely not Thailand exclusive
You are right.
I was not aware of this. Shame you didn't share this information on the other threads.
So three countries today :
Malaysia
Singapour
Thailand

Yes, I'm able to flash EU firmware and Global firmware back and forward with no issue.
EU firmware is less bloated with no theme or OPPO browser app. However, my purpose then was to get May patch cause the global rom .17 was pulled at that time.
But I'm back to .21 Global now.
If we flash it from global to EU, something might not work properly. You have to do data wiping once and everything will be fine. But that is not the case when you switch to global firmware from EU firmware.
And for the question about flashing. Yes, I did flash everything via its recovery.
Ok great to know!
Where did you get your "EU" firmware (source)?
Also, you confirm that the dual SIM is still on when you flash the Firmware (it can happen that in the UI or partition the dual SIM is not written in the code. Thanks for your help.

Hello @SAO
Does the Thailand version have non Latin characters when configured to English language?
How much did you pay for the Thailand version?
I just managed to buy the Chinese green version. I am preparing myself for flashing Global Rom (or EU Rom if there are some non Latin characters on global Rom). You confirm it is possible? Is there any tutorial for that?

and I can confirm you that dual SIM is still working fine

Also, for the .21 firmware, I OTAed it from my Thai (I belive that it's the global) .17 firmware.
If you want to have .21 firmware (basically, the changelog is the same as the .17) you can try downloading OPPO Find X2's .17 firmware from OPPO Thailand's site. I believe that would work too.

I'm using PARCL...
its a buying and forwarding service... basically, you find something on the web... for example, the thailand version of the Find X2 Pro (I used the recommend mobile company site that Oppo recommends on Thailand site, believe its AIS)...
Copy the website url and total price and some additional details like color, capacity, etc.
Go on PARCL and follow their instructions (its fairly intuitive)... You basically make a request for someone in that country that forwards for PARCL to buy it for you then ship it to you in your home country... think of it as a personal shopper.
You pick from different forwarders in that country... some new, some experienced, etc.
They review and message you back that they will agree and will give you a price for their services + shipping. For me with USD conversion, it made the phone around $200 more expensive... considering I didn't have to pay tax and I choose the option for them to manipulate the customs info (basically they send as gift as opposed to purchase, helps to avoid tariffs, aliexpress does the same thing) Its not the greatest deal but I am getting a phone in Indiana from Thailand and didn't have to fly there personally...
You pay the total fee (phone cost + their service + shipping) all together with paypal. This lets it be under buyer protection... so even if there's a scam.. you can get your money back for the most part from paypal.
Then basically you wait and stay in contact with your forwarder...
for me, mine should reach him Friday then ship after that... about 12 hours ahead.... then he will take to DHL and ship to me... Will have it in hand next week.
They will typically take a picture when they have it in hand before shipping to you as well.
I mean you could probably hop on a plane and get it yourself faster... but that fairly fast.
This is my first time using the service... its fairly legit... like anything, it has good and bad ratings... but with using paypal for payment... it keeps you protected as far as getting what you ordered... I'll let you know once I get it to give my full recommendation and I will even give my forwarder's name so you can look for him if you decide to go that route...
Unless you know someone going there.... I could not find a store shipping overseas.... plus, how legit is it to give over your credit card to a shop in Thailand or Malaysia??? really? This sounds like a much better "safer" method to me! :good: :fingers-crossed:
I already have the Malaysian version .. if there is any questions I will be happy to help .
I'm on 21 version.
