[Q] Blu Vivo X cases - General Questions and Answers

Bought the Blu Vivo X a couple of weeks ago and there is still no cases for this phone. The phone came with a gel case but it doesn't protect it. Any chance anyone has seen one other than the wallet type?

There are a couple of cases available now on Amazon via Kugi...clear, and smoke/grey they call black. I have the smoke grey one, but doesn't offer any more protection than the factory case - I just didn't want the pattern case that came with the phone. Amazon this week got them available for US shipping so they're not coming from China anymore. There are also fitted PU leather cases via Sunway available on Amazon and a Skinomi Skin for the Vivo X. Good luck... it would be nice to see some dual-layer cases, but this phone appears to be made by Gionee for Blu and doesn't have a direct Chinese version unlike a lot of other Blu products, so the market is going to be smaller and manufacturers are less likely to build cases for this one-off US only phone. With a curved screen, tempered glass protectors are tough to find as well, but there is a Chinese-based supplier that sells a full-screen glass protector with a black surround - I'm expecting delivery by the end of the week and the early reviews on Amazon are positive.

Xperia Z Krusell ColorCover NOT GOOD !!!

I have purchased an Xperia Krusell Colorcover case about 2 weeks ago and I have created this thread to share my impressions of the case.
So here is a video where you can see what the case looks like and how it fits on the device.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QherL9S1WlQ
I have to say that I really liked the case at first. The price tag on the one I got was about 12 euro (its 100% genuine as I bought it in an official retail store), which I thought was very decent for a case from a reputable manufacturer that offers lifetime warranty especially when compared to the likes of Case-mate where price is significantly higher.
As you could see in the video at first I really loved the case. It has a nice coating which gives it a rubbery feel and it doesn't add any unnecessary bulk to the device.
Now after having the case on my device for about 2 weeks I am a little bit disappointed. Although I have not yet dropped my device and never carry keys in the pocket that my phone is in the coating layers seem to be coming off one by one. I noticed that the rubber feel coating is gone on all corners, there is a scratch on the back of the case and that on one corner you can already see white plastic !!!
I have used cases from Spiegen and Case-mate before and that has never happened. So it looks like you get what you pay for and it's worth paying a little more to get a case that is gonna last you more than a month.
It seems like the cases come in two variants one with a cutout on the back for Xperia logo one without. Other than that they are the same. The case comes in a variety of colors. Mine is black.
UPDATE 21/03/2013 So I have made a warranty claim at Krusell and they are sending me 2 brand new cases Let's just hope that they are gonna be a little bit better this time. I will post pictures once they arrive
UPDATE 2 6/04/2013 It looks like Krusell has one of the best customer services I have ever come across. I have received 2 brand new Krusell ColorCover cases and this time they are the version with cutouts for the Xperia logo. The previous case that I have used for a mere 1 month is already useless. Not only has a lot of coating came off but I also got a crack on one corner just from taking it off and normal usage, so I guess the new cases will be going on an internet auction as I shall be getting something more durable.

Cases and Screen Protectors in the UK

Hi everyone
Most of what I see here in regards to accessories is for America, in the UK I cant find anything really thats any good. If anyone comes across something then please let the rest of us Brits know xD
For the time being I ordered a cheap £4 tpu case from Amazon. Hopefully in a few months ebay/Amazon will have more choice.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk
The only case I managed to find which is actually in stock and shipping from the UK was the one called "Moto X Case, SUPCASE [Unicorn Beetle Series] for All New Motorola Moto X (2nd Gen.) Phone 2014 Release" on Amazon.
It has a black surround and a frosted back, which unfortunately is a bit too opaque to make out the navy coloured back of my phone. It does however seem to protect the phone pretty well.
When I looked at most of the cheap TPU/Silicone cases which seemed to be in stock they were from US resellers with long (1-3week) shipping times.

Best M9 Case/Screen Protector list

Accessory makers are now setting up pre-orders for M9 case, cool and best cases are now showing up in tech shopping sites ItsSkins, Spigen RooCase and other companies already started to offer cases.
Just share here your best founding here.
I am exciting about the new m9
Will do a rank of the case, many reviews, I really hope I can help people to find out the proper cases meet the needs
Ill buy tech armor protectors and a diztronic or tech impact 21 black case. Thats what i had for my m8.
http://mimeusa.com/ has added HTC One (M9) to their dropdown menu listing HTC phones they have tempered glass screen protectors for. The link doesn't go anywhere yet but it pretty much confirms that they'll be making screen protectors for it. I'm planning on getting the 0.15mm Feather Glass screen protector. (I'm hoping it will be the Feather+ Glass with rounded edges that they have for iPhone 6)
I'm not sure yet. I might start with one of the official cases and get a Spiegen on discount.
It's so hard to tell for screen protectors until there are some reviews.... Like with the iphone 6, like NONE of the companies had a good screen protector for my daughter's phone for about a month after the phone came out
htc m9 glass screen protectors
i have been using the following brands for years and can vouch for them both
Casebase
Orzly
I can see links on amazon for both companies.
http://www.amazon.com/Orzly®-Temper...&keywords=htc+m9+orzly+glass+screen+protector
http://www.amazon.co.uk/CaseBase®-P...425420774&sr=8-1&keywords=htc+m9+glass+screen
I hope this helps. The casebase twin pack is really good value. Iv always trusted Orzly because i like there cases. Both companies have a good range of cases online as well
I will buy ivoler case,I once bought the iVoler dot view case for my M8, I absolutely love it. I work for Sprint and I use my phone all day everyday between work and at home. I have to say it has the "wow" factor as well as very usable gestures. I have used several flip case's like this in the past and have had up and down thoughts about them, however this is the best out of all that I have used. Some reviews say that it makes the phone awkward to use with the flap open, however in all honesty anytime you use a case like this its not the same as a naked phone or regular case. The rubber that makes up the front is very soft and is easy to manipulate while folded back, and I have had no problems with it staying flat on the screen. I have carried the phone in levi's as well as slacks and the rubber surprisingly doesn't grab or make it hard to go in and out of the pocket. I did receive the gray case not the black, however I believe the warm black was intended to be this color. I would highly recommend this case to anybody, you will not be dissatisfied unless you have never used a flip style case and at that point you may not like it. Well worth the try and the money!!!
Came across this video on YouTube, features quite a few cool cases. You might want to pause the video to read up on the pros and cons as it goes a little too quick.
I'm hoping for the dot view to come out soon, if not I'll go for a fusion, love that it shows off the back of the phone.
I have used a few of the Aerios branded screen protectors recently and they seem quite good.

Still waiting on availability.
What I pre-ordered for the M9 @ Amazon UK
Spigen Neo Hybrid (Gunmetal)
Spigen Ultra Hybrid (Crystal clear)
Spigen Screen protector (Crystal)
For better protection I'm thinking a Otterbox / Ballistic case will do.

What about Seidio cases, I've always used this maker of phone case on all the phones that I have ever purchased. I think one of the best out. Now they are making waterproof cases as well.
Don't own a Seidio case but they are well regarded. Signed up for the mailing list.
This is one I'll be purchasing once I get my hands on an M9:

Ordered the HTC One M9 Spigen Case Thin Fit.
Looks nice and i like it thin just to protect the rear from scratches and such.
On the screen i will place a glass protector. My GF has it on her S5 and it is very smooth and strong.

Not sure I'm a huge fan of all that bulk...
IMO Incipio and Spigen make the best cases out of any manufacturer. Sure Otterbox and a few others make cases that provide more protection, but when it comes to quality & style Spigen and Incipio are King.

Me too :good: The product description makes me curious...
I just ordered a tempered glass from amazon by amfilm. I have used theirs before on my older phones, and I am going to use this one. I mean, if nothing else, it was only $5.

Screen Protectors - recommendations

Bit the bullet and purchased here in blighty.
Managed to get it on an o2 upgrade through CPW for 230. Would have like the 32GB version but 16GB should do (coming from a G2 with on 16GB and no SD).
So first concern will be screen protector.
Have you any recommendations of brands you have used or what you have currently for the phone?
Amazon is throwing up the following brands
Celicious
Brotect
Top Ace
ELTD
iLLumiShield
Will work out a case as well.
Cheers
I've ordered these from Ali Express.

I'm hoping there will be some more cases available for this phone soon, amazon currently have a couple but i really want a black one. Been considering the unicorn beetle case but there's no image of the black/black model on amazon, only the frosted/black one.
I'd be interested to hear how the tempered glass screen protector works out though
Never used one so not sure how easy they are to apply, also never bought anything from Aliexpress, is there service pretty good?
Good to know of some other UK early adopters
There seems to be a couple of black cases appearing on amazon.

Just for reference this turned up and very happy. Standard slimline case affair.
Good fit.
Also got brotech screen protectors. They fit height well but only go to the edge of the display and the whole front width so you know.

Hi,
I had a XtremeGard installed on my nexus 4 and really liked it. Yesterday I ordered 4 of them for my Moto X Play. They have at this moment an 80% discount on all order with coupon code "Summer80"!
So for 4 of them it's $6.39US with coupon (shipping is free in US and low elsewhere).

The problem you may be posting about when you get that is that the screen on our phone has a beveled edge, either the screen protector won't make contact on the edges, or it won't cover the full screen.
It's very likely we won't see a proper full-coverage protector for the life of the device.
I just went with a custom cut one from Geek Squad, $20 well spent. (but still not edge-to-edge)

Just ordered an Xtremeguard as well with that coupon, I got the "Hi-Def Dry-Install" version. First of all, thank you for sharing it! And second, please let us know how it is when it arrives. I'm currently in Germany so my shipping will take respectively longer (18-31 Days was the suggestion with the $5.87 USPS International Shipping option, ouchhh).. But on a positive note, after the 80% off coupon the whole deal, including shipping to Europe, was only about $7-$8ish!
Anyway, thanks again
Nico
No problème and I will let you know as soon as I have them.

Got them this friday and installed it Saturday night (wet install). It fit perfectly, not as slippery as I tough it would be (I guess I got use to the naked glass) but overall I like it.
still have 1 or 2 bubbles under but I know by experience that tomorrow it will be gone.
Cheers!

91% off with this code, at the moment: BF91OFF
I have some random screen protector, jeez I forgot the brand....Qmust maybe?
They're all mostly fine anyway
EDIT: Woops I mean it's a tempered glass screen protector.
No proper Screen Protector yet available for MXP. I bought back covers and screen protectors, all ruined in few days.
My brotec (?) screen protector os doing just fine 3 months in.
Seems most aren't the best fits due to curve of screen but covers 98% of the screen when a case is on as well so I'm happy enough.
I recently bought a back cover for my Moto X Play. It is from "Frosted Series" of Nillkin brand. The device is much more comfortable now, thanks to the TPU material used.
Here is the link : http://www.amazon.in/dp/B0173QXAD2
Another case which I considered was : http://www.amazon.in/dp/B015XII0W8
This case is also made of Thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU).
I don't think I'll bother with a screen protector this time around, it's got Gorilla Glass 3 already and have never had problems with screen scratches previously, with inferior screen solutions.
I shall wing it, apart from my TPU case to protect the corners of the device which is my main damage culprit.
those with xtreme guard applied, could you guys share some pics of your phone? did the film cover the whole screen?
Few weeks ago i installed a 5 euro/dollar anti glare screenprotector and it fits perfect. The edges are rounded so you will never find a screen protector that covers the whole screen.I use the original moto x play flip shell for protection and a screen protector for the anti glare look.

Cruzerlite Bugdroid Case - Not Bad

As few choices there are for the Moto X Style/Pure globally, in India we have even fewer. After a lot of hunting, I narrowed it down to a Cruzerlite Bugdroid case, which came for Rs. 599 (about US $9). I am attaching some pictures.
If you have used Cruzerlite TPU cases before, they are pretty much standard. This one may just be one of the better ones they have made - in terms of design and build quality as well as quality of the button cutouts. The case I used for my previous phone was a UAG case, so this of course does not even come close. While it's a LOT better than not having any case at all, and probably much better than the stock bumper Motorola provides, I am still a little concerned for the screen shattering if it falls. The Incipio cases or the Poetic cases would probably be better for that, but unfortunately are not available here locally. Still I would say this case is value for money.
Hope the pictures help! I bought the orange (which is a little more on the Rust side thankfully than bright orange) because they only had that or electric blue at the time I purchased, and my stock bumper had broken randomly just sitting in my jeans pocket. If you have an option, I think the grey one might be the best colour available.
