Is there any way to keep an app open on one of the home screen tabs, something like how the Google feed is in the pixel launcher?
Create a widget.

There is a new launcher in the market right now that im using it works great.it called launcherpro.
I would install "home switcher"also in the market. That way while you are setting up your new layout you can go back and fourth. Without being interrupted by that a default prompt.
Launcher pro has single tap of home button that brings up the leap view, and it also has pinch to leap. With added gesture of dialer, contacts, internet, and messages at the bottom of every page.
Also it has a app launcher similar to the N1. Without the 3d cube effect.
Very responsive worth a try, only downfall is none of the htc widgets work while using this launcher. Bc their widgets are tired in to it.
I use the flip clock from the market, its customizable.and dolphin hd with their bookmarks widget and the friendstream app , that way it still has a sense feel to it.
UPDATE: Dev updated the home button to have the option of going to default screen or to the leap view. Also has auto rotation wich is something sense does not allow.

Its definitely intetesting, I just don't know how long I could deal with missing things like the friendstream widget.
That being said, I really like the app drawer. Its very awesome!

Exactly! Gotta have the sense widgets. I use for HelixLauncher 2 for about 5min then I have to switch back to sense.
You can pull from your app drawer the friendstream app, that's really all I miss, the sense widgets look great but are too big for my liking. If you use beautiful widgets from their clock you can set shortcuts to, calender, clock alarm, and weather.

i downloaded launcherpro. i only have 3 screens, unlink with sense when i have like 5 or something. also i have no idea what this app drawer, maybe its the menu button thing that opens all your apps, but if it is its the same thing as sense except cool animation.
also side note, im using chompsms widget, i saw some pics of someone using it and it had pic of the person in the widget, do i need to donate to get that or what?
It has three by default. Hit the menu button then preferences you can have up to seven screens.

Found it, downloaded it, used it, deleted it.
If I diddnt have sense, I'd be all over this. But for me, it just seems a little redundant. I personally, prefer the real thing.
Is there a launcher out there that lets you create a shortcut that can jump to a particular homescreen?
I remember seeing an option somewhere but i dont remember which launcher it is now

No way for settings shortcuts?
In your widget screens there is one that says settings shortcut. Same goes for contacts as well.

You probably want to set widgets on your homescreen, if so you no longer have to longpress on homescreen to add widget rather than open appdrawer and choose widgets from the menu above.
Hope this helped.
in stock GB launcher (well any launcher) long pressing an empty place would bring up an option labeled shortcuts. In that there was a bunch of options.....and toward the end you would see "settings" in that there was things like wifi settings and battery usage etc.
Is there a way to find those?
Found what I was looking for thanks guys

I have found myself creating only shortcuts to apps lately rather than only using widgets. I always liked the appeal of being able to use the widgets, but it just seems easier for me to use the app shortcuts these days. Only widgets I'm using are weather and clock.
So what other widgets are you guys currently using? Just wanting to know if I am missing out on a cool widget. They are after all one of the things that make owning an Android unique.

Beautiful widgets
Widgetsoid
Simple calendar widgets
Easy clock widget
some icon labels are too long and cut off which just does not look cool.. i know some launchers give you the options to hide them all together, trying to find a widget which can do that or which would allow editing the aforementioned labels, any thoughts ?
other questions that still stands, i'm quite sure i was able yesterday to use a different wallpaper on the lock screen then on the home screen, without a 3rd party app. how did i do that, can't find it ;]
just to visualize this...
so here's a image i downloaded (1270x720) and here's how it looks; click.
(ps. this was a test image.. don't worry
Try using quick pic to set the wallpaper

Can you please open another thread with the same topic, but this time do it in the dev section? Use quickpic dude and stop opening annoying extra threads that cover the same topic!
Wow..

For the icon labels, some third party launchers let you change them individually, nova for sure. But you lose your sense widgets going that route.
