Hi, it's been a few years since last time i flashed a RoM on my phones , and back in the days there a downside for doing this , some original features of the phones were lost like using microphone on headset or tv or something else so im wondering if now adays when using some custom rom we loose something on out moto maxx , for example the 3 low power IR sensors for active display that save battery not having to use proximity sensor all the time .

That's not been an issue, ever. Ever since we have custom ROMs (March 2015), those ROMs used the IR sensors just like stock firmware. The CM dev at the time made sure of that.
And that has continued to 2018.
Please find an example where some feature didn't work on custom ROMs.

Ah, you weren't talking about this phone.
No, no problems with features missing. They're just called something different. Quark Ambient Display does what "Moto Display" does, but the settings are in a different place and you have to turn on what you want the Quark Ambient Display to do. It uses the IR sensors just like stock firmware.

Hi,
yesterday I was on racetrack Nürburgring and tried my new OnePlus One.
Everything was cool except one thing.
Most time, when I took the OPO out of my trousers, the screen was on and an app was open?
Is there a setting for that, that this never happens? Don't want to share battery lifetime to my pockets and don't want to place calls to the whole world.
Is anyone having same problems or could someone help me?
Settings/Interface/Gesture Shortcuts, disable everything.

You forgot display -> double tap to wake
It is scheduled to be fixed by OTA-update xnph28s; before unlocking the proximity sensor checks if the device is currently in a pocket.
See bugreport: https://jira.cyanogenmod.org/browse/BACON-16
Good to see, d4fseeker.
Do you know, when this update is ready for download?
Don't want to disable the Oppo features on opo
They say the update should be released in the next week or two.

Typically when its ready, it was posted a week ago in 2 weeks time but no promises as they want to get it right in this OTA.
If you can't wait, you can flash custom ROMs as they already have this commit where it checks the proximity sensor. If the proximity sensor is blocked then gestures will be disabled until the proximity sensor is not blocked.

Like I said before, I don't use Paranoid Android. Go into the thread and search for the keyword "lockscreen" ... if the ROM is based on CM for the OPO then it will have the gesture controls.
Edit: Heres your answer, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=53677403&highlight=gesture#post53677403 next time just search
Not only as stable as CM is, it includes all device specific features of CM like offscreen gestures, Quickboot, Soft/hard buttons...

This is CM inc's chance to show what they can do.
You know they have a One Plus as a test phone but they let it go out with low call volume and sub par signal strength. As well as touch screen problems and more. Just look at the bug reports. There no hiding them.
Software makes the phone work so to me that is what I have to look at.
All in all its a great phone I just expect more from CM inc.

To be fair the phone is still in its infancy stages and is invite only. So in a way you can say we paid for the phone to be "internal beta testers" and when the phone is not invite only thats when its out for the masses.
I agree with you though, these major problems should have been addressed in a hotfix rather than having users wait for the next OTA. Luckily for the most of us, we're able to fix it in our own hands but for those who aren't then they'll just have to wait.

LG killed G2 IR blaster ..
reportedly lg LG Released Qremote SDK but when i tried to make a 3rd party software to send raw IR DATA i got this

there is NO WAY to access IR blaster.
So? With QuickRemote, which works just fine - what's the point?

QuickRemote is propietary and doesn't work with ART so that means when Android L comes out there is no way to make it work since the SDK doesn't let you use the IR blaster directly. Essentially one of the features of the phone will no longer work in a few months if you upgrade.

Um.. What? The G3's QuickRemote works just fine with ART. Therefore, IF the LG G2 gets ART, they could just use that version.
Pretty sure the G2 won't see L officially, however.

Hi all,
A while ago I had a Samsung and fell in love with their Peel smart remote.
However when you look for this remote on our LG g3 it says it's incompatible with our phone.
BUT...
I searched for the apk file, and i can confirm it is 100% working.
It's working so beautifully that its just like its build specially for our G3 devices.
So try it and i'm sure you will love it, cause it supports many more devices then Quick Remote.
Just a tip for anyone looking for the best IR experience.
Dont forget to hit thanks if this actually helped you
Some screenshots...
Thats great news.
Can you please share the APK?
Where can i download this?
A quick google search will show you where.. Dont know if its allowed to attach it to the post.
I also love this app and use it on my Galaxy Tab, I have been able to get on older version to load and work but not the IR. Please post the build you are using and a link to a download if you are so kind. Thanks,
Here you go: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B3HUVRg--TNmYXphR1ZhQU9ONWc/edit?usp=docslist_api
Please note that even though the led doesnt flash when pressing a button, it IS actually sending an IR signal.
No luck...
Doesn't seem, to be working for me
No IR, tested with an IR camera. (Quick Remote works fine)

Doesn't work for me. I'm on D850 stock lollipop rooted.
Looks like it maybe a ROM issue then.

If your on a D850 it only works on Cloudy 2.2 I've tried them all. I actually like the stock remote pinned to notifications better as you can have it only present when connected to your home network. I also like Samsung's watchon also by Peel better and the IR also only works with Cloudy.
This remote sucks not only does it not work d855 stock 20h rooted but it also is full of spam and useless crap it wants to know your postcode... And it won't even start without picking a ****ty TV service which I don't have and won't let you GOTO next step without adding one then it will ask you your age and sex and also spam you with a bunch of TV shows you don't even want to watch or know about stay well away quick remote is so much better no spam no adds quick and easy
downloading will report back if it works or not

I am interesting why devs dont wanna implement l.mretus synaptics driver in all newer android or custom distributions than lollipop knowing this!

Debating between this phone and the mi mix 2s. By all counts the OP will have better development, and the headphone jack is a plus. The mix really has style and wireless charging. But unconfirmed reports that Android pay didn't work. Does Android pay work on a stock OP? Is it seen as certified on the Google store (can I play Netflix?). I don't plan on rooting or installing an after market ROM until later in life (if OP stops supporting it). Also how does OP handle the warranty in the US? Basically there isn't one on the mi mix 2s which is a big minus.
I'm coming from a LG V20 so I debate whether or not to upgrade at all considering it has almost everything lol

Q: Does Android pay work on a stock OP?
A: Yes! Google pay works with the Oneplus 6
Q: Is it seen as certified on the Google store?
A: Sort answer, yes. I didn't have any problems with the Google play store on my device.
Q: Can I play Netflix?
A: yes, Netflix works fine on my device.
Q: How does OP handle the warranty in the US?
A: I'm not sure, I haven't looked into this yet. I'll keep you up to date if I know more information about your question. But I'm pretty sure the warranty is alright.
Some extra information:
- Don't let the 1080p screen hold you back. The screen is gorgeous and you won't see the pixels.
- Screen on time is about 4 and a half hours with average usage.
- Dash charge does what it's promised to do.
- The Oneplus 6 is for my small hands a two handed phone.
I hope I answered all your questions well!

Hi! I'm planning on making the OP6 my first OnePlus Device.
I also plan on getting the 6T later as well. I know that seems pointless. But I like have 2 major devices from a company for a years run..
Anyway, I know the phone is brand new and we have to see how things go, but, do you think there will be ROM support for this device? Given that it had the dual partition system (A&B style) would it be worthwhile to get the OP6 for ROMs right now?
My only want is to Root & ROM the phone. I have a LG G6 & V30, both from T-Mobile and have no dev supoort or ROMs. I like them both but I miss LineageOS and that's actually why I'm buying the OP6.
In your opinion, should I expect to see ROMs like LineageOS for OP6 or should I just wait and get the 6t.
I'm just trying to justify it to myself, especially now that the Nylon bumper case is sold out and that's the one I wanted. Ha, minor detail holding me back. Obviously I'll snag a Karbon Bumper hopefully..

Wow is that the reason they say they removed fp gestures? This didn't make sense because it's the same size as the fp sensor on the s8 and so she fp features work on those devices. So I wonder if this new sensor just doesn't support gestures or if it can be added back in from a custom rom?

First of all I must excuse me. Because I live in the Netherlands, my phone's language is set to Dutch.
First go to you security settings, then press the little settings circle. Now you should see some sort of a timer. Change this timer value to something more then 0 sec (instant lock). Ow and toggle the instant lock slider for when you press the power button
