Weather Widget displays wrong time after DST switch - Samsung Galaxy S8+ Questions & Answers

After my phone switched to DST this morning the Weather Widget is still displaying the old time. I'm removed the widget & re-added and same thing. re-booted and changed cities and still I get the wrong time.
Is anyone else having this problem?

Same here. I've tried changing time zones, setting time to manual, clearing weather app data, clearing cache from recovery, removing and re-adding the widget and multiple reboots. Still displays the wrong time. Maybe it's a problem on the server side. I'm running the latest beta and remember one of the updates created weather widget to show wrong location and temperature. Hope it fixes itself soon.

Widgets reset configuration on reboot?

I run Fresh 1.1 (though I believe it occurred even before I rooted) and it seems that android widgets reset their configuration on reboot.
e.g.
Google finance widget won't retain what ticker should be tracked
Weather widgets lose what city should be tracked
Has anyone else seen/solved this issue?

I cant speak for the Google Finance widget, But Weather Widgets Donate did that too me every time I did a reboot. Stopped using it until they get it fixed.

How often did/do you reboot that it became annoying enough to dump that app? I do have the same issue with the app, but don't actually reboot the phone enough for it to be a problem. Now if this were WinMo, I can see the required number of reboots being an issue. *evilgrin*
Actually, since the minfree (built-in memkiller) settings were discovered/discussed here on XDA I have gone from an average 125h before feeling the need for a reboot to over 250+ hours before I start thinking about it.
Reboot: Sometimes you just run out of power. It is also very annoying when you have to fly
It seems to be a bug with HTC sense. On my G1, this issue never occurred.
ok not sure about the finance as I dont use it but the weather widget is most likely becuase flipz removed the location service because there was a bug with it. but if you use the kitchen its easy enough to reinstall (and it seems that the reinstall of location services fixes the bug) so just use the kitchen to reinstall the location service and the city traking should be fixed.

I am pretty certain this is the issue as well. When using Sense, Weather Widgets always forgot my location; however, when using a AOSP ROM it worked just fine.

[Q] Why are my widgets not updating?

I am rooted, running stock with ADW launcher pro. The past two days, my widgets have stopped updating their content.
Some widgets, like google music, will still control the app, however, they will not show the correct song.
-my time does not change.
-I have gentle alarm and the widget is totally unresponsive.
-I have a flashlight widgets which will turn on the phone's flash light, but the widget will not update to show that it is on
-I have a wifi tether widget that will switch the hotspot to on, but the widget once again will not change appearance to show that it is activated.
-I have calengoo which will update after a reset but then will not change again (to the best of my knowledge i havent verified this one yet)
If i reset the phone the time will update to the time of the reset, but will not change after that. I have tried battery pulls, I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling widgets. I have tried freezing touchwiz in titanium. i am out of ideas.
Any idea what is causing this partial widget impairment?
For anyone that had a simmilar problem, I solved this by manually restarting ADW from within the ADW settings. I hadn't thought to do this since I didn't see how it would be different from resetting my phone, but something must be altered when it is manually restarting, perhaps a cache?

Alarm Clock missing

I set up a bunch of alarms (5) in the Clock app. But there are times when it is completely blank when I try to go in there to edit something. The preset alarm still goes off but this is very random and a very annoying bug. Anyone ran into this?
I have the TMobile version.

my alarms worked this morning and I just checked and they're still there. Maybe try uninstalling and reinstalling the clock app. Or just downloading a diff one from the play store just in case. You can also try clearing the data and cache of the clock app to see if that helps. Last resort would be to do a factory reset which should fix it for sure

Thanks for your input. It doesn't happen often, but it happen in 2 of the 5 days I have owned it. I am unsure on how to uninstall the native clock app.

Galaxy s9+ widgets won't work

Hello,
I'm having a VERY frustrating problem with widgets on my phone. I have the galaxy s9+, and the os that I use is next launcher. I've had next launcher since it first came out when the s3 was new, and I've never had the problem I'm having now.
The most noticeable part of my problem is that my weather widget freezes. When I restart my phone, the widget will load in with the correct time for that minute, and time on the widget will never change. When I press the theme button all of the theme choices show the correct time, but when I hit 'apply' the time displayed on the widget doesn't change. I've Uninstalled, reinstalled, cleared cache, confirmed location permission, and nothing is working. I've also Uninstalled and reinstalled next launcher, tried other weather widgets, and nothing is working.
Help and suggestions are greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

Next Launcher...last updated July 11th, 2016. Is that the one you're using?
Yep. That's the one. I just sent them an email lol. Hopefully they reply.
Do widgets work correctly with a different launcher, like Nova? (They work fine with Nova on my 9+.) Sounds to me like Next needs to be updated to support Oreo.

Constantly losing weather info Google At A Glance and lockscreen

I am constantly losing the weather info from the At A Glance widget and on the lockscreen. I never lose data and it's happening on both WiFi and mobile data (twice as often on mobile). I have reset the phone to factory default and had nothing installed on the phone so it's completely stock out of the box. Turning location off and back on doesn't fix it. The only way I can get it back is to add another copy of the At A Glance widget to the home screen which immediately brings it back, then delete that widget. Rinse and repeat a day later. Is anyone else having this issue and any idea how to fix it (if that's even possible)?
Yep, I have been facing that issue with the widget too. The weather simply disappears for no reason. But I had that issue with my previous Android One device too(Nokia 7.1). So I somehow feel the issue is with the widget itself and not much to do with the device.
A quick fix for this is adding the 'at a glance' widget to a blank space on your home screen, usually it brings the weather data back for me, but this is not permanent, it will disappear again some time.
