Hi,
Talking about the GoPro app: play (dot) google (dot) com/store/apps/details?id=com.gopro.smarty
This application is a controller for GoPro cameras, and each camera has it's own compatibilty list. I need to deceive this application into thinking that I have a Google Pixel 2 in order to use it the camera that I have.
The way I'm currently trying to do this is editing my phone's build.prop, but I was hoping that someone might help advise me:
1. is it reasonable to expect that editing build.prop will solve the problem? I know this works for the Play Store compatibility, but I dont know if it's as safe to assume that on an app that's already on the phone.
2. what settings should I be changing in build.prop?
3. I'm also trying to find a clean Pixel 2 build.prop file on 8.0.0, but having some difficulty finding one.
I appreciate any help!

I rarely ever do this to the build.prop but, I believe that one or more of the following threads should be helpful for what you are looking to do and don't be afraid to ask for some member guidance within one of them too.

My question is a simple one, having searched on usenet, torrentsites and here, I have not been able to conjure up any CFW's for this device. The android app market is not available on this device which just is an odd thing to do.

creative zen xfi2 does not run any android os nor has any capabilities of installing apks nor does it have any network connections.. its just a plain out media player, nothing more, nothing less...i do own a 16g myself but its just a media player which can play some games and theres some apps for it..

Well, I've managed to get a trade in. Now I've got a Creative Zen Touch2.
Wi-fi, BT, the works. Of course no Android Market. Now I could install appplanet of course, but I would rather follow legal ways. Is there a Android Stock for this here device or should I still follow the above tips being given.

Good afternoon dear forum dwellers,
I find my self facing a very steep obstacle related to an application. My agricultural family requires the application in order to conduct normal work. The issue i am faced with is two fold. I am unable to download/install the application due to either region restriction or phone restriction.
The notorious application is this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.yara.checkit
So i request the aid and wisdom of those of you that possess far greater abilities than i, in solving this perhaps simple conundrum. My request is the following: Would it be possible for someone to download that application and sub sequentially sent me the .APK file of it so that i may install it manually. Alternatively i am open to any and all suggestions regarding the resolution of the above issue.

i might be, other users upload it, if theres lots be careful what you get because people are bums and they could load it up with Ads or a survey you must do to unlock the app. so you said you talked to the app developer? why not ask him for a apk file?

I did ask them for the apk file they had no idea wtf i was talking about. I got 2 women one on the regular support line one on the "computer service desk" they seemed very surprised anyone was calling them at all, and neither wanted to help. So i don't think the support is going to be the way to go for this.

I think your device is a phone. No need use the "leanback version". Its for android box. Exp: Shield, Amazon FireTV, Mibox. For china brand, u need put 2 files “tv_core_hardware.xml” and “tv_features.xml” to /system/etc/permission u can get from http://freaktab.com/forum/developme...te-android-tv-experience-in-r-box-pro-h96-pro

I'm getting a blank blue screen after opening the app and clicking get started. Using the Nexus player.
Could you update this to v4.10.2.007 please:laugh: oddly 4.11 won't launch at all. I mostly just need the HDMI detection and leanback as it's a Mi Box with Android TV your current version works fine. Just looking for the newer update :fingers-crossed:

app worked for me
I installed the on my android TV and the app works great. The only issue I am having is that the app does not show up in my apps on my homescreen. To run this app I have to go to settings - apps - installed apps and then click on cox contour and then run. Is there a way to get this added to my homescreen. Any help with this is really appreciated thanks in advance.

The cox app doesn't work for me on my shield. After logging in my cox credentials the screen goes white. I have tried clearing cache and re-logging doesn't make a difference.

Can the stock camera app be configured to write both jpeg and RAW files, and RETAIN this config for when it is quick-launched?
On the Samsung S7 you can't do that. To get RAW you have to select PRO mode but there is no way to quick-launch the camera app in PRO mode. And none of the 3rd party camera apps can be quick-launched... I am sure there is a way with a rooted phone (my S7 is) but you then can't use google pay (well, not without some complicated hacks).

An children's app I have installed on my phone says that it requires camera permission and the reason for that is to take screenshots.
Is this right ? I didn't think you required any special permission to take screenshots beyond the usual media/files one.
Why would you need camera permission for a screenshot ? Is this right or is the developer wrong ?

I can only answer this "In General"...
When an app has a feature that requires access to the External Storage, Camera, etc... It will require your permission to access what it needs for those features to work.
If an app has a feature that takes Pictures of any kind (even Screenshots), the app will require the permission for the camera.
You may not think that the Camera is tied to Screenshots but, it does. Not all devices have them tied together but, many devices do.
I can't really get into the deeper details of this as I feel that I will end up confusing you... LOL!
This is normal behavior and I wouldn't worry about it.
